morgan32 403 Posted November 6, 2012 We all know that the current statistic board is pretty much useless (Not sure, but does it show types of zombies you´ve killed?)I just wanted to suggest a more advanced statistics board, shows types of zombies killed, how many kills with different weapons, zombies, players, bandits, heroes killed with different weapons, just the basic stuff a douchebag would count in a real apocalypse.Imagining something like this:AK-47 - 10 Zombies, 1 Survivors, 0 Bandits, 0 HeroesM1911 - 29 Zombies, 0 Survivors, 0 Bandits, 0 HeroesAS-50 - 0 Zombies, 7 Survivors, 4 Bandits, 1 HeroesThe list would ONLY show weapons that you have equipped / fired with.Suggest some ideas and twists on this, I´m pretty sure the community here got good ideas around this too. OrLoK 16187 Posted November 6, 2012 Hello therePersonally, I wouldn't mind a stat display after death but I find stats in games dramatically alter the way many people play. It becomes a competition rather than an experience. So, my vote is yes after death / No ingame.RgdsLoK
starwarsfan@gmx.de 450 Posted November 6, 2012 I think we need less statistcs, not more. Especially those kills/death related. I can see stats being shown when you die, like 'how many miles walked' and stuff like that. Just to give you a summary of your live but it should end up as a way to boost your ego because you took down 1000 Zombies, 100 Survivors, 69(lulz) Heroes and 1 Bandit. It just ends up encouraging a deathmatch mantality. But I think they were planning on letting you record your stats on a note book that you get when you spawn. At least Rocket mentioned something like that in an interview.
morgan32 403 Posted November 6, 2012 I´m not talking about on a screen when you die or something right now, but just a basic screen that you can access in-game to keep track of what you´ve done so far. I don´t know about you guys, but I´d keep a zombie could with different weapons in a real apocalypse, one of the few things to keep it fun if it happened in real.I mean, take some crayons, write lines on the walls and sit in your house killing zombies all day seems pretty fun. morgan32 403 Posted November 6, 2012 Also, conider it that I´m not talking about that super-statistics, showing bullets fired, legs broken (actually, that would be fun). But, you know, just basic kills and such.
indominator 95 Posted November 6, 2012 Orlok Orlok Orlok Orlok Orlok Orlok Orlok Orlok Orlok Orlok Orlok ! its almost a death metal lyric.IMO due to the fact that it would be unauthentic we shouldnt, i know that it would be fun, but the game would lose focus. Most roguelike that have somehing like that are all singleplayer, so think about that.
morgan32 403 Posted November 6, 2012 The standalone will (hopefully) have more dangerous zombies, making it more fun to track statistics. But I understand what you mean. As for this in the mod, I mean, it´s easy to get gear now so just setting up a spot and killing stuff would be quiet fun.M4A1 CCO SD - 0 Zombies, 0 Survivors, 0 Bandits, 0 Heroes, 69 Pigs

enforcer1975 1111 Posted November 6, 2012 No stats...this is about survival not how many you have killed, if you want stats go play any other MMS. I personally am happy that the debug monitor has been removed and more or less happy about other changes and it should stay that way.
mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted November 6, 2012 The in-game statistics menu you suggest, like you might find in many other shooters, would be seriously out of place in DayZ.While the fact that this would only serve to encourage needless player killing has already been mentioned, for me, the threat of it wrecking immersion is the real deal-breaker.If you really want to keep track of your kill counts, go get a pen and paper and keep it by your side as you play.
