I've lost my starting inventory?

So the first couple times I made characters and played the game, I started with materials like a flashlight and some food and all that, but now I have no items when I start a character. I'm not in hardcore mode or anything. Is this just something that happens or am I missing something?

You should start with a bandage, painkillers and flashlight. If you were starting with food you were playing on a private hive which has a custom starting loadout.

I start with no items though. I used to start with a bandage, painkillers, and a flashlight

Happened to me sometimes since your character is swimming a couple of seconds before respawn.

This happens sometimes; usually a synching issue I think. It happened to me a couple of times, but only after I server hopped a bunch.

Proceed as normal.
