DKR 104 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) I'll have to restrain myself while I write this post. my heart is pumping like hell out of my chest.So I been playing for like 5 hours straight. Got a nice M14A, tons of essentials, ammo, etc.I've been by myself on this server for like 2 hours now. Just me, one player.I go from Cherno, over to Balota airstrip, then NorthEast to Bor, North East some more to Zelenogorsk, head straight north to Pustoshka, up to Vybor, loot the town, then up to the NorthWest Airfield. I'm walking up to the barracks, check the server list, I'm alone!I see an M204 with like 300 rounds of ammo lying next to it. Awesome shit. But I have to get rid of some raw meat to make room, so I start to go outside and start a fire. All of sudden, zombies come aggro'in out of the woods and into the barracks behind me. I hear gunshots, from two different weapons.In like 30 seconds time, these fucks spawn in right at the airstrip, steal the loot I came across, and kill me. How is that possible? Did they disconnect right next to the airfield? How can they get there so quickly? Is that a strategy to disconnect next to the airstrip?Their 30 second parade ruined my 5 hours work. Fuck me. dekartz 315 Posted November 4, 2012 The airfield is a dangerous place to spend any period of time. If you're going to hang out there, expect to be shot.... Frequently. Raytheon (DayZ) 4 Posted November 4, 2012 People can disconnect wherever they want, I would call it bad practice to logout inside the barracks, or Air Control Tower, or Firehouse as sometimes the loot doesn't spawn when you spawn in, and because they are highly trafficked areas.Twice I have had a person spawn in front of me in a hangar and the Firehouse at NWA, and promptly murdered them for their insolence. TheBaby 61 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) People hop about different low pop servers near the airfield particularly near the south-eastern barracks in my experience, in order to gear up faster. It sucks, but it does happen very frequently. At least they're potentially gimping their own skills by doing so, much faster and more entertaining to gear up hunting other players than to cycle through empty servers that might have not even spawned loot yet.Running a public hive server we get people doing this all the time and sometimes we catch people doing it. Quite a surprise for them.The NWA is never really safe. If you're up there on an empty server press 'P' and keep a track of who's online, how many kills they have.. I think it's likely players with plenty of zombie kills on a practically empty server will want to be there.Kill on sight up there, there are no friendlies 99% of the time. They are rare on low pop servers but they the ability to teleport any where around the map or teleport players any where around the map. Is that a strategy to disconnect next to the airstrip?Its possibly they were simply server hopping; that is, logging out near a valuable spawn point, and jumping across several severs checking whats spawns until you find what you like. At least people farming a spawn have the trade-off of having to spend alot of time there doing that risky business. Server hoppers can spawn in right behind you and you'll never know it.Their 30 second parade ruined my 5 hours work. Fuck me. I have never been so irate at a game's existence and so in love with it at the same time.Look at the bright side, you have another 5 hours of surviving and gearing up to look forward to!
