kingofallsasquatch 11 Posted November 3, 2012 So what do you think of this every time you take morphine you could become addicted.
wolfstriked 143 Posted November 4, 2012 I am all for it as it would force players to farm hospitals like junkies and I think its coming in SA.

OrLoK 16186 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) Hello thereThere should be some effects for taking morphine. Seeing pink elefants/ponies etc. Everyone I've ever seen on morphine has been off their heads for 12 hours then as sick as a dog.RgdsLoKhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRS41-7MTSs Edited November 4, 2012 by orlok
mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted November 4, 2012 @thebirdolux - People can be addicted to substances (and actions) without being physiologically dependant. In a lot of cases, emotional withdrawal combined with compulsion eventually leads to becoming physically addicted to a substance.I wouldn't be surprised to see it in standalone. Rocket sounds like he's working hard to make sure nothing can be simple.
The Khan 9 Posted November 4, 2012 On the subject of "addiction" in general, wouldn't it be cool if there were illegal drugs that you could get addicted to, and they give trippy effects. :D Like awesome colours and such, it wouldn't only make it addictive in game but also IRL (Because the trippy colours would look so awesome that you want to do it in game all the time (Not doing them IRL)). harley001 315 Posted November 4, 2012 I don't like the ideal of Addiction from one thing. From what I hear the army has ways to make sure their troops dont get addicted. And yes a morphine autoi njector is military in real life before you say "YOU DON'T FINE IT IN MILITARY NOOB! YOU FIND IT IN HOSPIATALS! DERP DERP DERP!" mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted November 4, 2012 And yes a morphine autoi njector is military in real life before you say "YOU DON'T FINE IT IN MILITARY NOOB! YOU FIND IT IN HOSPIATALS! DERP DERP DERP!"Armed forces use the same medical equipment as any emergency service. You can buy "Morphine auto injectors" from Wal-mart, with a prescription, HERP DERP DERP! It's a medical device. Not military. From what I hear the army has ways to make sure their troops dont get addicted. The only way to not risk getting addicted to opiates is to not use them. From what I hear, you should check your facts. trexeth 37 Posted November 4, 2012 I also don't like addiction idea.I think it's overrealism. I think, that taking rare morpine in order to fullfill some addiction is not that good.As for me, addiction won't be good, because it will add unnecessary challenges in the game. mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted November 4, 2012 I also don't like addiction idea.I think it's overrealism. It's you that wants to add footprints for every animal/zombie/player in the game, morphine addiction in DayZ is perfectly plausible. The aim is to make survival difficult. The more factors there are to balance the more challenging (and better) it becomes. If you need to use morphine when you break a bone, and morphine might cause you to become addicted (and perform less well while suffering the addiction), then you'll have to pay more attention and try harder to not break bones. starwarsfan@gmx.de 450 Posted November 4, 2012 As long as you don't get addicted after the first shot, maybe. But addiction is not a simple thing and some are more suscebtible to it than others.
trexeth 37 Posted November 4, 2012 Hey, footsteps increase chance of survivalbut Addiction - decreases.I don;t want to make the game very hard, it's already pretty difficult.
nikiller 122 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) hi,I think it's a good idea. If you are addicted to morphine a new icon in the HUD appears and works pretty much like food and drink. You need your morphine shot every X hours and if you don't you start shaking, your temperature drop, etc...cya.Nikiller. starwarsfan@gmx.de 450 Posted November 4, 2012 Hey, footsteps increase chance of survivalNot really.I don;t want to make the game very hard, it's already pretty difficult.I'm sorry to tell you(actually I'm not but whatever) but the game is only going to get more diffcult with time, you really should think about joining The War Z they like it easy over there I heard.
