I can never find decent military gear

Hey all, Maybe im just unlucky or im just beaten to it getting good military gear. I go to the right places, i.e Stary NWAF and NEAF. The only military gear i have found are rangefinders and a fn fal

Well thats not bad to find, i know your frustration, i have never ever found a NV for instance.

I just gave up on the high end gear, these days i'm playing the game without any gun, its a new way of playing and it has saved my life a lot of times.

2 Days ago i found my first ever fency gun at a crash site, a G36c SD ( this server has adjusted loot table, so the gun is legit)

Also it is a way better feeling when killing a bandit with a AS50 with just a winchester :)

But again i know the feeling, i have never found a range finder.

Most people get things like NVG and range finders from killing bandits that probably found a set once and have been duping them since, lol. I've found them as loot spawns once each at the NW airfield barracks, every other time I've had them I got them from bandits bodies or tents.

You can either farm barracks or look for heli crash sites take your pick.

Range finder is like the rarest thing in the game... It is the one thing I haven't found. I've found a few pairs of NVGs,Mk48s,M107s and an SVD Camo in barracks but never a rangefinder. It is the one thing I am dying to find

I get most of my high tier loot from players tents and heli crash sites. Anybody with a browser pointing to DayZDB.com can find their way too the barracks - so no wonder they're always empty.

or - go to dayzdb.com and look at the maps. areas marked in red are military spawns.

the FN Fal is no slouch though.

i have found everything other than the m240 and that rocketlauncher. Although i have used both, i have just never found them at a heli crash.

An easy trick for re-spawning gear at a barracks (or anywhere for that matter) is to do the following.

1. Clear the entire building out completely (make a junk pile outside) It is very important that it is completely cleared.

2. Retreat about 70 meters away from the building, and wait 5 minutes.

3. Search inside the building and viola, new loot. Repeat until you receive something desirable.

Never found a range finder or NVG but come across everything else. Crash site just after a server restart are your best bet. I get bored farming the NWA.

Yea cherno is a little hard to find decent gear, play 10 minutes on namalsk and you will find enough military gear to find your own army. But food in namalsk is something else, more then once I traded SVD's or assault rifles for a can of beans.

Uhhh what? Thats the definition of farming.....and if they don't find anything on the server, what's the point in staying on it, to run around looking for something that they know isn't there? At least if they are farming, they are remaining in the same server, putting what they have on the line when other folk come their way.

Finding food is hard as hell. Never, In my entire time on namalsk, did I, or anyone I know, turn down a can of beans for anything else. I have starved to near death, to the point where I had to give away some good gear (map + compass + 1911 4 mags) for 1 can of beans. Later that game the person I made the trade with was crying on sidechat because he was starving, Id like to watch him try to eat that compass I gave him.
