What's a good way to make players not shoot?

Recommended Posts

Get into cover.

Take aim.

Say "Friendly", but point out that you have him in your sights.

Then command him to drop his gun.

If he doesn't obey, you can be sure he's up to no good, so put a round or two in him to let him know that you're not kidding around. If he's planning to kill you, then you can be sure that he's going to come after you if you try to retreat.

However, if he's obeying nicely, then you can probably trust him enough to at least have a chat. Whether he's trustworthy for longer than that chat depends entirely on how he acts, and your gut feeling. Often gut feeling is enough.

So, to sum up:

Get into cover.

Take aim.

Say "Friendly".

Then go with your gut feeling.

Only drop him if he doesn't obey.

I'm guessing being a hero can be pretty hard...?

Not hard it just takes dedication and coming to terms with the fact people will try to kill you. Start with a light load when you take on this path for a few days to get used to how you are going to go about being a combat medic. When you die you wont be angry because your not losing much and you can get used to a set strategy that works for your style. I go for everyone in need bandit or not. I found that helping then hiring bandits as security during rescue missions works out well thats just me though.
