What's the PDW supposed to be?

Recommended Posts

I don't recognize the PDW; it isn't an Uzi, MP9, Steyr TMP, nor a Mac. I ran a few searches on Google Image with various keywords and strings, but I'm not seeing anything that looks like it. The closest is the Uzi, but there are large differences. Anyone know what it is? Is it an Uzi with an inaccurate model that was done from memory, or is it an actual gun?

PDW stands for Personal Defense Weapon. Theres a few variations of guns (MP5, MP7) that carry the PDW tag. The nearest thing I can find based purely on the look of it is a micro UZI.

Type micro uzi on google, it is a real gun and it does exist.

It does not accept mags from mp5/m9/glock or whatever (they don't fit). It does however use the same bullets (9x19mm).

From arma2.com:

PDW is the most widespread submachine gun ever in military and police units

From my own thread about IMI that is based on Wikipedia:

Uzi submachine guns were sold to more military and police markets than any other submachine gun ever made

So doing 1 + 1 we come to conclusion that PDW is indeed UZI.

EDIT: added links

Good call; it is indeed a micro-Uzi with the folding stock removed and a few modelling errors. I was looking at, and referring to, the full-size Uzi, earlier; I forgot that there were a couple of a smaller variants. Thank you, all.
