Playing as a zombie?

Sorry if this has been said already.

Why not have a option to hunt as a zombie in game as a side option for a bit of fun?

Sure normal zombies would spawn in town but it would add a bit of realism to it if a player were a zombie on the hunt racking up player kills.

You could alert other zombies of the players presence but you would need to feed to survive.

How annoying and scary would it be if you went into town and a player zombie was stalking you into a building :D

The zombie would have poor vision to make it fair but could have a sense of smell marker and a noise marker on screen to locate and chase down players.

It could be like a poor version of tunnel vision where a sound or smell would make a colour in a misty grey field of tunnel vision

Iv'e been following the Dayz stand alone, all they care about is getting it out and adding dogs, that's it! They are lacking the evolution of ideas atm imo

The original big threads will fall under all ~350 topics when people just keep spamming them again and again. And the new threads will be full of sht comments like these, when people wont care to start the debate million times over and over again.

Stay around this froum section a while and try tp be actually constructive, you'll be just as annoyed by people like you who come here claim to be 'sorry'(Which is of course utter bullshit because you're obviously not) and post suggestions that have been posted a million times over and in the act killing of threads that actually have some proper value to them and could very well be adding to the game experience.

Besides, telling someone on the interwebs that he should get a life is so freaking ironic it's not even funny anymore. Just sad. Now go back to that hole you crawled out of and never show your face here again. Thank you.

Interesting but i dont think its gonna happen - zombies are not dead people in this game, they are Infected and we as survivors are immune (according to Rocket). If he takes away the immunity then i suppose it could be possible to play as an Infected - you would slowly change over time until your character became yet another AI, possibly needing to feed on people etc. I dunno, just waffling.

I love the "Sorry if this has been said already" comments by the way. Reminds me of when people say "No disrespect, but....", followed by a reason why that person is a complete fuckwit. :)

Awesome! I remember I absolutely loved playing the alien in Alien vs Predator. It sure was a nice change vs. playing the regular hero human.

So the topic has been posted before. Should be a system to quickly merge or categorize such treads to other similar threads. Instead of having sub-forums, we could have tags, like in Gmail. Actual working tags, that is...

I wouldn't judge a person over a internet forum that's what fuck wits do, nor would i respond to a persons post like i owned the forum and get upset about it, it's just sad to be honest. I would probably just ignore the thread and let it sink to the bottom instead of bumping it back to the top of the page which completely defies what's being moaned about, i would just ignore the thread, realise the world doesn't revolve around what i want and carry on with my day.

The idea has been discredited time and time again.

1) The feature will be misused and abused. For an example, camping spawns and killing fresh spawns, camping buildings/loots.

2) Player cannot and or will not accurately portray this type of zombie which will probably break some immersion. These zombies are suppose to be mindlessly aggressive and persistent. Players will try and take a tactful approach.

That's just to name a couple reasons why.

Don't think it's gonna happen, nor do I think it's a good idea - but take into consideration that this is my opinion. I believe that dayz is about the surivors and their story, how people survived the brutality of the zombie apocalypse world, and why it is dramatic. Dayz should focus on the survivors and their story, but if you like to Play as a zombie, there's always left 4 dead, or something I suggested - make zombie mode playable on mini-game servers that have no impact on the game.

Well i respect those opinions as to why the idea wouldn't work, but who's to say what level of intelligence a zombie would have. You could have a smart zombie who has a need for flesh, they could be super mutants with super strength, atm they climb ladders and open doors and have the athletic endurance of Mo Farah :D So they must have a reasonable thought process

You have to admit they are not exactly hard to shrug off and do need adjustment to become more difficult, i will leave it at that.
