Server crashed wiped it all!
morgan32 replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm not going to advertise, and the server have had problems the last couple of weeks so most likely everything is wiped, but I had: Ural (Civilian) AH-1H Huey MV-22 HMMVV (M240) HMMVV (MK19) Of--Road (White) Supply Truck AH-6J UH-1Y UH-1Y MTVR (Fuel Brown) MTVR (Fuel Green) MTVR (Ammunition Green) MTVR (Repair Brown) M1A2 TUSK AH-1Z MI-1715H Vodnik (BPPU) And that's only the vehicles. Anyways, if you want support on defending your base I'm up for it. Been some time since I've actually had to do much in DayZ. -
DayZ Namalsk Stories Thread
joemiken replied to m.w. vindicator's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I really like the map. It does have a much more intense feel than Chenarus, Lingor or any of the other maps. The little soundbites of the kids yelling and the woodpeckers that sound like Predator keep freaking me out though. I absolutely love that climate has a big effect on your character though. Heatpacks are actually relevant in this map. Tons of military loot, even if those towers are killing floors for anyone with a scoped sniper rifle. My first experience, spawned west of Old Hospital, ran north to the land bridge and was promptly sniped by some goon in a bush w/ an M14. Yep, definitely playing a DayZ map. I changed servers since it was getting dark and respawned outside the Chemical Factory. Ran away from the shore and found a helo crash. Grabbed an M14 w/ a ton of DMR mags, but also got slapped a ton by zombies (thank you annoying equipment animation). Kept running NW towards the dam and was to the point where I was passing out a lot and my vision was real blurry. Ended up walking off the bridge by the dam. :( On respawn, I find I'm near Nemsk factory. I made the trek back to my body at the Dam and recovered my gear. The next logical route was to head north towards Vorkuta for food and drink. In Vorkita, I find an ALICE pack and some much needed food. As I'm walking around a building, I notice a bush wookie (user name: max) in the building, completely oblivious to my presence. Now, if this was Chenarus or maybe even Lingor, he would've been a dead man since I shoot first and ask questions later on servers that'll likely have noobs. Instead, I asked on side chat if he was friendly. I keep sweeping the city to stock up on food & drink and possibly find some winter clothing so I can traverse the mountains a little easier. As I'm hopping from building to building, I hear the sound of vehicles entering town. Two yellow Urals roll through and stop at the supermarket on the north end of town. I see a number of people hop out and continue watching them from my rooftop perch through my M14. I ask if they're friendly...no answer. At this point, my plan is that if I don't get an answer or see them acting hostile is to shoot out the tires on the Urals and use my high vantage point to bring a little death to Vorkuta. After a minute or two though, someone types in side chat that yes, they're friendly. Still not totally convinced, I get down off the roof and make my way to a bush down the street from the Urals. At this point, I can hear noises around me, but figured it was either zeds or just ambient noises. Instead, it's a guy standing right next to me (user name: Red Leader), completely oblivious to me. He finally notices me and I wait for the inevitable gun shot to the head, but it never comes. Amazing...TWO friendlies on one map? I work my way up to the wall right behind their Urals while Red Leader makes his way toward the buildings the Ural guys were currently combing through. At this point, I notice a third Ural behind one of the industrial buildings. I know they only came into town with 2, and this one had vehicle supplies in it and a half tank of gas. I come to realize that the guys that rolled up in the Urals probably aren't the only people here. Suddenly, shots ring out from across the street and I see a couple people die. After about a minute, more shots ring out and two more die, including Red Leader. At this point, I seriously debate whether to climb the ladder right in front of me and try to kill the scumbags who had just killed a friendly. However, I have no idea where they are and how many there are. After sitting in the Ural for a few minutes, one of the Ural guys types in side chat that they killed the guys who killed one of the people in Vorkuta who had asked if they were friendly. Apparently, the Ural group was friendly, but the group that showed up in the Ural I was sitting in was definitely not. Not wanting to take any chances, I back the Ural up and split. After driving around a bit, I find a survivor running through the wilderness outside Alakit. It was one of the friendlies that was shot earlier. I pick him up, drive around a bit before deciding to log off. I handed the Ural over to him (madhatter was his name I believe), wished him luck and watched him drive off towards Vorkuta. -
Excellent map and well thought out. Loving the new vehicles the Ka-60 is epic B). My only gripe would be there arent enough sniper rifles and I've yet to find or even see a .50Cal. Theres far too many low grade weapons and not enough high grade. Other than that loving it.

UK 1 - DAYZMAD.COM - The Original DayZ Private Server!

You can now refill jerrycans from vehicles depleting their fuel! -
Hey guys, Im not sure if its just me, but im getting stuck at the loading screen when logging into servers, specifically Vilayer ones. Me and a few friends opened up a HFB server and got the new Fallujah map loaded on it. For some reason, vehicles dont spawn on our server though so were planning on switching to a Vilayer server soon. Anyway, I've been playing on a few other Vilayer servers until we switch over. I found me a fairly decent Humvee that was loaded with gear. No one was around so I repaired it and drove away. An hour or so later, Im looting a hospital and the server kicks me. It didnt give a reason or a BE error, it just said "You have been kicked." I thought it was a fluke so I reconnected, pressed join and the game got stuck at the loading screen. Having dealt with loading glitch countless times, i go through all the steps to fix it, still get stuck. I start tinkering with the dayz files, reinstalled arma and oa, all the maps reinstalled, still get stuck. So I tried joining our HFB server thinking it would just get stuck and id need to wait for another Dayz update, but lo and behold it joined without any problems at all, although i was across map from where i got kicked. Spent a few hours playing on there, thinking id fixed it and got alot of gear i had lost earlier in the day. So i tried reconnecting once more, stuck at the loading screen. I tried a different Vilayer server, stuck. I tried an almost full server, stuck. A server that was completely empty, stuck. Out of frustration i tried a non-Vilayer server that showed up, joined without a hitch. Did I manage to get banned, which i might add isnt allowed by any server hosting service, for something legitimate in the game? And if so, how come im banned on ALL the Vilayer servers? I really need help on this, be pretty pointless switching to Vilayer if I cant join. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also as a footnote; anyone know why vehicles dont spawn in Fallujah on a HFB server? I havent seen a fix yet, already contacted HFB and they told us that the vehicles take time to spawn in. I cant see how thats true, ive found atleast 50 vehicles on other servers, none of which were HFB servers...

Server hacked/Tec Buildings Everywhere...
DeathJester76 replied to h3xxus's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Tents are safe 100% checked and confirmed personally...as to vehicles not sure as I don't have one on my server atm. Depends on how 'hacked' your server is, in my case there were buildings every 100-200 meters...ALL over the map, cities, forrest area's...middle of lakes...so in my case a few reset vehicles were the least of my worries The page you download the modified pbo file from says that it only resets vehicles that have been hacked in to unplayable area's (debug plains/middle of ocean), I assume they are safe but cannot personally tell you yes or no I'm afraid -
We are a small group playing together on a Private server, currently we have 3 clans and a few peoples playing solo. the server was always full but we have been hit by hacker every night. we make the choice to reset the server to Zero and whitelist it. Auto-repair depends on how damaged it is. You can repair helis by just hovering over a repair line with scrap metal. Vehicles won´t auto-repair if they´re damaged a lot.

As the title says, list your current gear :) I died before I went on holiday, so all I have at the moment is: A Winchester, some food and drink, m1911 with half a mag, binoculars, Alice pack, and finally the essential tools I need to survive, like matches, a hatchet and a hunting knife. I assume your loadouts will be much better than mine, assuming you haven't died recently. (If you've seen my store, then I'm not using the many items I have in tents/vehicles because I was making my way to the camp, and picked up the stuff I have now en-route)

@BoomyGT: Yes, sounds great! IMO, the only way to achieve such epic experiences in the game, is to rewamp the way zombies spawn entirely. Currently, players cause zombies to spawn, i.e. zombies only spawn where there are players. Also, the spawning is very glitchy, and zombies continue to spawn wherever there are players. Also, players in vehicles neither spawn zombies, nor does zombies attack vehicles. As it stands, this does several things for the game: It makes it non-sensical, or at least impractical, to have independent zombie events it makes it impossible to clear a town or area of a town completely It gives players invehicles an unfair advantage when hunting other players However, if zombies get to spawn independently of players, this is what we get: Independet zombies that wake when they catch the scent of players and aggro when they do stupid shit. Some of them will cluster into hordes who roam the map in search of food, and then gravitate towards those places where the most players are (heh, the places giving off the most scent of the living blood of Christian men), creating that classic scenario of the fort that becomes overrun. The players then have to react to this, either by cooperating, or by hiding their ass in the bush. Towns can be taken and defended (giving a natural place for the KOS'ing sniper), and wars can break out over places that provide good resources and defense. And when the horde of zombies pass that bridge where those two quarreling players are in the middle of shooting each other, they will be fucked if they don't stop for a moment to cooperate. Zombie instances only spawn where there are NOT players - of course after a sensible algoritm that doesn't swamp memory. Zombie skin and texture, things that require memory and computing power, can for instance still be triggered by player presence. The main thing is that the zombie instance are med independent of players. Some of these instances need not be sleeping, but can cluster together into independent hordes that roam the map, or infest a certain town. When done that way, it becomes much more easy to make those classical hordes of zombies that you're used to from the lore, the books, the films, the TV-series. But it can only be done with a model that spawn zombie instances outside of player activity. @That1neguy: No! (Also, you're stealing the thread. Stop it!)

Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have over 200 players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved. Globally banned with the last wave, using a private script injector so battleye seems to be getting their shit together, bout fucking time. Now instead of being an even larger douche and buying some poor saps stolen CD Key for 2$ I am gonna wait for standalone to come out and hope to hell it doesn't allow scripting in things like, client side vehicles that only you can see or use (although running people over in a car they cannot see or hear is mildly humorous), giving yourself a Gau-8 disguised as a makarov and around 100,000 rounds of ammo (then destroying all the cities of chernaurus with it), teleporting, godmode, and other standard hacker fare. It was entertaining while it lasted but the most fun I had with dayz was when it was new and I was unaware of all the exploiting, glitching, and hacking that was possible. Here's to hoping the standalone can deliver the good that dayz did without the mountain of terrible shit that the ArmA engine piled onto it.

hey we just started our server 2 days ago, there are 74 vehicles, side chat. its a bliss server so we run anti hack mods and can run scripts to delete hacked items barbwire ect. we currently have 3 groups of 3- 5 people and a few regulars. we just switched from vilayer.com to HFB because of reliability and modification options and expect to have the server at least until standalone comes out. the admins are from canada, we have 2 in -7, 1 on east coast 1 on west coast so the times would work great if you wanted some friendly pvp action too. just search "free beer" to come join us.

Dayz and its realisam, banditry and less ammo
xaden3 replied to thelonewarrior's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm working on a custom version of dayz myself. i have slowed down zombies to walking and increased there numbers, made them attack vehicles, spawn even if your in vehicles and loot spawns while your in vehicles. Currently I'm trying to adjust the rate of ammo and food to make it hard to come by. The idea of just ammo with weapon spawns didnt occur to me so imma try that. If anyone can think of some other stuff to try I'd love to hear it. -
The Outlaws DayZ Clan Now recruiting! We are a clan that adheres to military style tactics and discipline We currently recruiting new members to The Outlaws, our goal is to have a fully functioning unit comprising of x4 squads of x5 men in each conforming to our squad structure (see our clan forums). Here is a breakdown of each squad: ALPHA - TASK FORCE ONE This is The Outlaws primary unit, Alpha will be the spearhead squad in the field. Their job is to seek and track survivor bandit terror cells and their camps, neutralise the enemy at all costs and destroying of their equipment and supplies. Anything that could be of use to The Outlaws should be commandeered. BRAVO - TASK FORCE TWO If you fancy yourself as a bit of a hero this is the unit for you. Bravo is The Outlaws supporting unit, you will sweep along side other squads preventing enemies from flanking during their key objectives. You will be called upon by other squads as backup and will be responsible for assisting and getting to the conflict ASAP! You will need good navigation and communication skills. You will be involved in most large or important missions. You will need to be handy with a weapon as you will find yourself being called to dangerous areas frequently and will need to be cautious whist getting to the conflict zone. CHARLIE - ENGINEERS Fancy yourself as a tactical driver? Maybe a even a pilot? Then Charlie is where it's at. Your primary missions will be to raid garages and hangers to gather as many vehicles for The Outlaws as possible. You will be responsible for dropping squads in to their area of operation and making sure your their for their safe extract after the mission. You will often be driving through 'hot' areas and will see a lot of action. You will also be called upon to take out other survivors vehicles so you will also need to gather explosives on your travels. DELTA - SILENT OPERATIONS It's time to get you sneaky beaky on! When large forces of enemy are holding our troops off it will be Deltas job to get in their un-detected whist other squads hold their attention. You will use ONLY silent weapons if you choose to join this squad. You will be a master of stealth and will have extreme patience waiting on stand by to move on a target. Night vision or thermal scopes will be advantageous as a lot of your primary missions will probably be assigned at night. If you would like to join our clan please visit our website and sign up today! FOR THE OUTLAWS! http://www.dayzoutlaws.enjin.com/

In the last week or so we've managed to more than double the amount of people on our server. We're up to 34 players at the moment. But the thing is everyone plays at very different times so the server doesn't stay well populated for very long. My buddies and I usually play around 8pm till 1am (UK time) and are looking for other players who will be able to do the same. So if you're interested please leave a message or PM me. The server is running Chernarus at the moment on Veteran -- UTC-8 -- 3D-on and CH-off -- 30 Vehicles If you have any questions just ask. Here's our blog if you wanna know more about us, there's a 'join us' page too http://brothersinharmsway.wordpress.com/ :D

Hehe vehicles can be a real pain in the ass, best time is to snag one after a restart. I'm not sure if vehicles respawn tho since they fixed tents and vehicles in a previous patch.

Today, travelled ALL THE WAY from NW airfield to the east coast and near Berezino, still not finding any vehicles, even a bike. I'm having such a good time....

Hi TheH I'm going to give everyone the rundown on what happened on MY servers at the time, then im going to tell everyone why YOU are bitching here. Shit happens in dayz, your group has caused more drama then anything else. You 1st start by saying admin abuse, the only admin abuse I and any other admin of my servers have done is replacing the gear that had been destroyed due to bugs within dayz (IE: Player dies on login) Your clan came in and immediatly found all the choppers? Ok, thats cool... then to top it off you decided to fly around and raid bases and thats fine and part of the game. I get tons of reports of you guys maphacking so I look into it. It became clear to me that you were not with the amount of choppers you had. However you pissed everyone off. You think that it is going to not piss everyone off on the server. Everyone was after you guys. I apologize that you were targeted for killing everyone's bases in result. So here I am to think, why the hell are you bitching about PVP everyone on my server hates you and is constantly looking to destroy your shit, YOU FOUND THERES and destroyed it. WHY can they not find yours? And the next thing I want to add is that Fallout is very trustworthy that is why I made HIM admin, not Rehab at the time. Rehab was appointed to do SERVER RESTARTS. He does not have access to the map. Not to mention that ALL vehicles for the map are hidden in a way. - I take pride in the community that I have built and have spent alot of time working on it. You are only mad because you got bugged, died, and I did not replace your gear in time. The last thing I want to address is the chopper issue. Because of your clans negative behavior to a suggjustion (IE Downvoting every post someones made on the forums) I had to split my community into PVP and PVE. Thank you for coming in and trying to ruin my community with shit comments. Also I am the admin your talking about in all this bullshit your posting. I have never given out information except for when I told one of your clanmates that I am holding off on the choppers until the thread was closed. No information was ever purchased from my server as well.. You sir, actually, your clan, had killed my dayz server with your negative attitude towards it. Im not sure where you get off making a post like this but it really pissed me off reading that you are acuseing players of Admin abuse. ( You may also be wondering am I going to ban you? No because you have done nothing wrong on my server. )
