With dayz commander click all the options to eliminate wrong game versions and sort by ping. I think I might go with what Fraggle said. I have thus far been on public servers. Unfortunately every weekend on my current server (where I have 2 tents) every tent gets crushed and all vehicles get teleported to a single location... Private Servers don't have this problem as frequently I'd hope.

People want to retain ability to eat beans and drink coke :D :D Honestly all the extra vehicles etc take out the "desperation" and suddenly it's just sluggish fps which can't compete with BF3

You have any idea how much gas/diesel tank would consume? You woudnt get very far with it or you had stop for refuel very often, and its loud as hell.. police car, maybe but works there as any other... military vehicles except the cars are as usefull as the tank what comes to fuel consumption and loudness...I woudnt touch these things, only regular cars.. van/suv/pickup... And that overpaint looks wicked! -

One of the servers i currently play on, have no thermals, a couple of new mlititary camps, extremely reduced droprate of as50, its possible it got disabled, no nvg:s, lots of new types of crashsites, all with new loot. For example.. i just love my sa58v acog. Ive seen a couple of new vehicles aswell, some kind of helis, ive seen atleast 2 new models and.. a couple of apc/armed cars. I like it, its like playing a new game, it feels kinda complete. -

It is a great map, green and desert, I have done that base over many times. I have with this map taken interest with vehicles as some areas in the south are barren. You can find a vehicle and have it sorted with only one wheel in your inventory. For anyone who wants "conflict" head to the south. You will get a lot of people wandering around. If you ever come across MV Taxis, take advantage. I run a service most days. On topic, I have had lots of times a so called friendly person shouts out to have someone else take a shot at me. Amazingly I would have thought being taken as a prisoner would be more entertaining but some people just lack an imagination. -

I would like to see more location appropriate weapons as in mostly russian weapons (at least for Chernarus). It would be a sight for sore eyes to find a m4a1 or even a m9. I think that would add to the immersion factor. Of course make zombies less queer by making them with a simple character construction unlike the current zombies that have tiny bones in their hands and shit. Ain't nobody got time fo that. But that contributes to the FPS drops and such. Small and large wandering hordes would be cool. Resources to make a better camp/fort that can be more secure. With the right tools and supplies, it would be to ward off unwanted guests. Human, infected or beast. Improved inventory system as well as a better "use" function because the scroll wheel selection system just isn't user friendly sometimes and I think people can confused with it. Not to mention the inventory system itself... The following is from an older forum post I made a while back that had some decent ideas and elaborates on the location specific weapons. Feel free to shoot down any of the ideas and perhaps enhance them if you don't mind. Big towns and cities have "infected air" - Gas masks or other types of face masks would be required for extended stays (30 minutes or so). If infected, Antibiotics and/or other vaccines are required to become fully stable. When infected, you become disorientated and stumble around after a long term exposure. Vomiting and fainting can occur. Loot spawns on other surfaces in building other than just the ground. They could spawn inside cabinets, drawers, open boxes and cars (totaled) as well as on objects like tables and counters. Addition and new threat of wildlife such as bears, wolves and birds. All of which could be infected and could possibly infect you with an assortment of diseases. Random events such as zombies bosses (bosses is a bad word but like special zombies that are harder to kill especially when in large hordes), large hordes in random places, wondering zombies, asset drops like weapon and ammo crates or food and water drops. (Again random times and at random locations) Ability to move and shoot. Not halo style moving and shooting but while zoomed in, you can move the speed you move currently while zoomed, only now you can shoot. You could run and hip fire but it would have to be inaccurate to an extent. Ability to run with your flashlight pointed ahead instead of it pointing at the ground while running. (Perhaps a toggle option) Chance to dismember players and zombies from large caliber rounds. (Plus more gore and ragdoll effects of course) Location appropriate weapons - Chernarus would focus the majority of its weaponry on Russian guns such as: Makorov TT-33 Saiga-12 Ppsh-41/43 PP-2000 Mosin Nagant SVT-40 SV-98 SVD VSS AEK-971 AN-94 AK family AS Val SR-3 A-91 PKP RPK Some sort of flamethrower RGO, RGN, RGD grenades Igla anti-air (maybe not) [*]Realistic weapon and blunt force damage - No more of all pistols doing the same damage (minus the revolver of course) [*]A wide array of melee weapons as well as the use of your fists. [*]Location appropriate vehicles [*]Limping and staggering if wounded in the leg(s), feet, torso, etc. [*]Wide array of clothing options including but not limited to jackets, coats, helmets (that actually add protection), hats, bandannas, pants, and possibly kevlar vests. [*]Radio system with countless frequencies to talk with friends across the map or to lurk on others. [*]Batteries for items such as NVG's, GPS's, flashlights and rangefinders. Perhaps some type of car jumper to jump-start a car if the car battery is weak. If the battery is dead, you'll have to find a new one. [*]Brief UI display when a tool or item is activated or changed then fades away soon after. Only food and water indicators can be visible at all times. Also show the "real" time of day so you don't play TOO much. (Oh man, I've been playing for nine hours and didn't even know - Now you'll know) [*]Set game conditions such as: Day/night cycles from 4/6/8/10/12 hours. Softcore mode where you don't lose your gear when you die but it severely degrades and you have to fix some gear with some type of resource to continue using them. Hardcore mode (how it is now) with perma-death, you lose all gear and only spawn with a bandage and perhaps a shitty pipe. (same for softcore but maybe throw in a few extras like painkillers and a extra bandage) Some sort of deathmatch mode with a scaled map size with increase weapon drops or start with a weapon of choice at a lobby screen perhaps. Wave defense - fairly self-explanatory. Day only/night only servers. [*]Addition of tools such as a multi-tool, saw, nailgun, hammer and nails, etc. [*]Ability to barricade doorwars and small passages with wood planks, metal sheets, etc. Zombies, bullets, melee weapons and certain tools can destroy barricades over time. [*]Ability to craft make-shift weapons with common items - Lee + tape + kitchen knife = A shitty bayonet [*]Customization and addons for weapons. Customization to the extent where you can paint your gun different camos or colors (if you find paint), add items like optics, suppressors, flashlights and lasers. Some of the items might not be compatible with certain weapons. [*]Medication to bypass disease side effects for a certain period of time. [*]Proper hunger and thirst decay (Find a good balance so I'm not always eating every 20 minutes) [*]Eating and drinking sounds are currently way too loud. You would think if you were being stealthy and you had to eat, you wouldn't be smackin your lips so loud that people in a 50 meter radius could hear. Maybe lower that just a tad. [*]When restarting a server, the time of day will be sustained from the previous instance. [*]Underground structures with a separate instance with passwords/booby traps. The inside structure could handle ten players comfortably at one time. This room would have a weapons rack, boxes, containers and other storage type things. (Perhaps you have to bring empty containers and boxes to use as storage for your underground lair? "X" amount of scrap metal to construct weapons rack?) [*]Ability to add a 50 to 100 meter tunnel system as a secondary exit/entrance to your dungeon. [*]Ability to salvage vehicles for their parts and scrap metal. Would require certain tools so you couldn't just go destroy everything all willy nilly and it would take a decent amount of time to complete fully. [*]Improve all sound effects and add more dynamic sounds to the zombies and players. [*]Make it so if I run into a rock going 4 km/s, my jeep doesn't explode. [*]Ability to jump, vault walls and scale fences. It would have to be tactical and well balanced to prevent things like bunny hopping and such. -

Heavily tweaked this back. DayZ Redux Alpha v0.2.8 < just download 0.2.9> Release Notes Fixed stupid logic error that resulted in loot only spawning when the 6 moons of xarthos aligned. Which is to say, not very often. Loot should be spawning normally now. DayZ Redux Alpha v0.2.7 < just download 0.2.8> Release Notes Actually slightly increased the CZ 550's spawn rate this time (apparently last time I did not actually do it) Introduced basics of "Vehicle Inspect" action. *MORE INFORMATION* Repairing ANY vehicle now requires that you have a Toolbox Toolboxes are now more common in industrial spawns Fuel Tanks and Engine Parts have swapped rarities. The Fuel Tank is now the most rare part instead of an engine. (Vehicles can't move without an engine, you'll just burn through fuel quicker without a fuel tank. I like the rare fuel tank situation better) SuperMarket loot pile chances reduced to be in line with regular residential chance. Parts only display in the repair action menu if they're not already 100% repaired (if it lets you try and repair it, it's not 100%!) Damage to players is now logged server-side. This should help significantly in investigating hack reports. The origin unit who ultimately caused you damage will always be reported in logs. The creation of ChernarusRedux buildings are no longer done like trash/garbage/barricades, but spawned by the server. This should resolve all oddities reported with multiple buildings/loot/buildings not showing/etc Loot spawning has been optimized a bit to improve overall performance and fix the performance problem when in towns Loot no longer despawns in spite of a player being near the pile at the time [ Vehicle Inspection ] Shows up in the same situations "Save Vehicle" shows up. Displays a break down of ANY part that is not 100% repaired. (Individual part damage) Displays the damage value of the vehicles itself (vehicles maintain a separate damage value from parts) If the vehicle's general health is 61% - 100%, the picture is green. If the vehicle's general health is 31% - 60%, the picture is yellow If the vehicle's general health is 1% - 30%, the picture is red. At this point you pretty much can just ignore the in-vehicle HUD green/yellow/red. If your helicopter is leaking fuel, use this tool. Anything that shows up is not 100% and therefore needs fixing! For now, EVERY vehicle shows up as a Skoda image in the inspection window. Potentially by next patch, every vehicle will have their own appropriate image. So there is no way to write in the vehicles on the community servers right? -
Enter on NUMPAD to go 3rd person...and if you are on a lappy I assuem you MAY not have that. Best to rebind it. Getting out of vehicles(and a lot of actions in this game like climbing ladders and switchign weapons) is accomplished by scrolling the mousewheel, and selecting what you want. GFX. Turn Antialiasing(or however its spelled) off/disabled. When you go to the gfx option there is an "Advanced button". Go there and what I would do is turn everything to low/off and then go up from there. One thing is that DayZ has a set "View Distance" so dont bother changing that. Anyway...good luck. Be prepared for heartache and rage and excitement and jerks. Also in case you dont know. 'V' is how you "jump over" items. It's more of a step over button.

Regarding the bike, I have not located one in a place where I have had time to figure out the issue yet. I assumed it would be like all vehicles but it did not work quickly so I ran. As far as map grids and time, I have tried a couple times to set waypoints using shift - click and there has always been somone waiting for me. Coincidence? Maybe - but quite strange. By seeing the distance, though, and running or crouch running I realized you can go a great distance straight to the target place - very quickly. I did use the map today, but did stop using maypoints. Took longer but felt safer. Even then, most people are shooting on site - in the back. Today - for example - I used advice and found a double barrol, hatchet, and pistol. Even with my horrible shooting, I could hit a zombie in doors once and win. On the other hand, I still don't want to get into a fire fight with a player so when I see one indoors (as today) or outdoors (yesterday) armed or not, I always get it in the back whether I try to talk to them or not. It seems to be the game on the direrent servers I am trying. In the new start I did locate a tent - and still have it. What is a good stratagy for hiding a tent - then returning to it later over and over? Should I mark my offline map with the position? Can not mark an online map that I can see - and if I lose it, that would be waste of time anyway - any thoughts please? Lastly, I am fortunate to be changing servers and spawning in different areas. I have seen a lot of the map in a short time - including two air bases. And by constant play I am noting churches in smaller cities I can enter, lakes - markets - and other building that are not discribed on map, and better safer ways to enter cities to avoid player on servers where they are trigger happy. Other players should be very happy with me though as they are getting a lot of great gear and supplies when they shoot me in the back. Hoping I can locate a nice hiding place on a good server for the tents I find in future so I don't completely start over every time. Let me add, I saw the strangest barn today - was about to walk in when I noticed two zombies - one walking - one crawling - standing half in and half out of back barn wall. As I get hit from outside constantly, I avoided the barn completely. I hate getting stuck on an upper barn floor with all zombies attacking. Even with axe or hatchet I can not attack quickly enough. nope. the physic engine will be a branch of Take On Helicopters, AND the "netcode" will still be scriptbased, yes. and with that physicengine they will have superior problems to fancy animations. (local vehicles, code injecting, latency issues, FPS issues, and many others) -

So I've decided to give DayZ.st a spin for at least a month after hearing that their ticket response times are lightning fast compared to SurvivalServers. DayZ.st: 2hours between 11am and 11pm on weekdays, and up to 12 hours on weekends SurvivalServers: Up to 24 hours, occasionally longer They also handle all upgrades and provide automated in-game warnings to players when the server will be restarted for maintenance. The upgrades are something that cost five bucks a month extra with Survival Servers, with DayZ.st, it's included in the $30 per month(normally $35, but there's an offer on at the moment). They also provide server tools for spawning in new vehicles, which is something that requires an additional 5 bucks a month from SurvivalServers, though the SurvivalServers tool does a lot more than just spawn in vehicles, it also handles cleanup of out-of-bounds vehicles and old placed items so that your server doesn't get full of junk. The setup time for my server through DayZ.st was amazingly fast, it was ready and starting up as soon as I paid for the service. SurvivalServers takes a day to set up. ------------------------------------------------------------ The main question at the moment is this: Will DayZ.st live up to it's promise, or will it be just like SurvivalServers? I understand that cheaper hosting companies can be a bit of a crapshoot, but they've at least made me curious enough to try them out. I'll be sure to post an update or two as things go along. At the moment: My DayZ.ST server is working fine, and the timezone settings on my SurvivalServers server are currently busted(but at least it's playable). -

Scripters can still hack in vehicles and all kinds of weapons. Also, they usually tend to favour servers with lots of other players on them. For some reason they feel better about themselves when they get more people to grief. The other day, someone tried to kill me and a friend with an artillery barrage. When all hell broke loose behind us we got the hell out of that server. I'm pretty sure it missed us only because of crazy lag. Another time, I was "insta-killed" while I was hidden behind cover. If somebody managed to shoot me, he would have to be close and there should have been a sound, but I just died for no obvious reason. Other odd stuff happened nearby before this, like weird car sounds and explosions, so it's no wonder, really. On yet another server, my friend spotted ten or so empty tents at the West end of Kamenka. When he came up to Zeleno he saw fire in the horizon, while I didn't see anything. We got the hell out of that server too. I know I should've reported these incidents, but I was too busy playing and having fun. However, now that I've noticed my own personal lazyness, I will make it my mission to dutifully report incidents like those. -

It would be cool if you could repair the power plants and generate power for the nearby towns. More vehicles. Even if they need repairing. In-game methods of communicating with other players - portable and fixed radios that act like "side channel". Leaving notes or maybe even spraypainted messages. Ability to fortify buildings. -

We started renting a server from Survival Servers last weekend. We got a Private Hive running Lingor when it was still Bliss 3.5. We had a few issues in the set up and it took 2 days to get the server running (submitted a ticket and 12 hours later got a response; responsded to it and 24 hours later another response and a working server, so 36 hours from purchase to server up and running). Once it was up and running it was great, people could join, vehicles saved, the dayztools worked, the map tool worked, etc. The only issue I had then (which is still happening) is that all of their services are plagued by "502 Bad Gateway" errors. This includes the survival server website, forum, TCAdmin, phpMyAdmin, DayzTools, and the Dayz Map tool. On Monday I had a minor question and submitted a ticket and didn't receive a response until 50 hours later on Wednesday. Then on Wednesday they pushed the 3.6 Bliss update which broke our server. All of a sudden zombies quit spawning, DayZTools gave us an error when we ran it, and the Map tool quit working. I submitted a ticket and within 5 hours got a response. This went back and forth for 2 days, with 5-6 hour response times, which was nice; however, the server is still broken. I was told they were working on an update, then was told not to play on Lingor until it was fixed. Finally on Friday morning they released a "fix" in the form of an update for 3.6 and Lingor. I ran the updates following the instructions, and our server crashed. It wouldn't connect at all. I submitted a ticket and received no response, so I looked around and figured out the issue, and got the server back up. Now there are no vehicles spawning and the DayzTools (which they said they fixed) still returns the same error. I added to the already open ticket and updated them on the issue, and I still have received no response (granted, it is still within 24 hours). So basically in the week since we bought the server, we had 2 days of waiting for it to go up, 2 days where it worked properly, 2 days of no zombies or tools, and 2 days of no vehicles or tools. This has been a headache from the get go, and if it is not resolved by the end of our first month, I will be cancelling service with them. I will say that they have never been rude to us, and when the server was working, it was great (no lag, no desync, fast load times, etc.) and I would have recommended them to anyone. If we can get back to that point I will change my mind, but as of now I've given up hope.
