We have actually switched to Namalsk map and we are having having a good time with some cool new features from our host: - Kill message: when a player is killed by another one, the server sends a message, eg. "player x has been killed by player y with gun z" - Wrecks: the server randomly spawns destroyed vehicles with some special equipment in it (just like the good old heli crashes) - Care packages: randomly spawned packs with some useful loot for starters. Moreover, custom vehicle spawns and 2 heli ready to take off! Just a quick update, Vilayer have messed up the update for Namalsk 0.60, so you might of noticed there are no Vilayer servers with anyone on because it gets stuck on loading and kicks you for script restriction #21. For time being I have put on Fallujah with 160 vehicles fully fuel and repaired

If you just cant go without a vehicle then join a private hive with extra vehicles. They are normally more populated though so your loot may not be yours for long kinda defeating the purpose, but fun for a joy ride or two Oh and yes server hoppings bad.

Are you getting sick of being killed on site? I know i was, until I found Dayzbrahs roleplay server!! They have a no KOS rule, and killing of other players can only be done once contact and conversation using direct chat has been established!!! Players not sticking to the rules will be banned, meaning me and my friends can play, get vehicles, explore the map, kill zombies and protect new spawns, just as the bandit groups try to rob and take hostages!!! Leads to some really interesting game outcomes!!! Why dont you guys come take a look at www.dayzbrahs.de and check the roleplay server out!!! They do require some more "off peak" members but have some great custom bases, and skins for clans/groups so identifying friend from foe can be done easily!!! and new barracks and NEA and Zel spread the player base out. Nope and no, buuut a couple of simple tricks may keep you in place, Clouds move east... and you can use the stars to guide you at night. Get off your lazy arse, get in a supermarket and get a map haha! plus use dayzdb.com/map for spawn references and places, won't show you where you are but can aid you in searching for loot and vehicles.

Dreygar, I'm actually looking forward to the standalone, I'm just saying that the foundation build that will be released in December, wont be mind bogeling different from the mod, but that will be reflected in the initial discounted price. I kind of disagree with your opinion about DayZ's map size. As of now DayZ has 46 unique towns, villages and cities, between these populated areas, we have a web of main roads, back roads and dirt roads. There are fields, different types of woods, hills, mountains, lakes, ocean, islands, industrial areas, castles, military camps and airfields and between all these locations, you have to travel a small kilometer between each. Without it's fields and woods, it's distances, the gameplay would just be one giant killzone like Elektro and vehicles, aircrafts and boats, would be completely pointless.

So hey, what happened to all the vehicles? They all disapeared and no new ones spawned it looks like. Not a complaint, just wondering.

No problems with vehicles saving things on my server,

The helis were off map and were teleported back to there original locations as we thought they had been hacked/teleported by a new group who had just been whitelisted but as we found out later you guys had placed them off map which is also not allowed!! I told the admin to check where the heli's and robbans vehicles were as people were getting very annoyed about it, only the heli's were moved and the other vehicles left where they were as they were ON the map so had the admin found the heli's located on the map nothing would have happened to them and both clans would have had to go out hunting for them! So you guys broke the rule that exists on almost every server about placing stuff off the map but you still accuse us of cheating/hacking when we move it back i really dont think we did anything wrong and im sure if you hadnt been so abusive towards admins and ppl on the server then we could have sorted all this out. And robbans clan has no admins in it and there has never been any abuse by our admins. Good luck on the new server you guys are joining but remember the basic rules plz

I just hope Rocket & Co have a little imagination and creativity up their sleeve and just don't give us a shinier Dayz. This is some of my ideas I've mentioned. Better user-interface, This is just horrible. From trying to organize your equipment between yourself and backpack/storage to searching for loot. Crafting, I am sure this has been touched on immensely around the forums. Why? Because it's in demand in every game. Finding useless items that come together to make something worthwhile is almost better than just finding that new shiney weapon. It gives a player purpose, adds to the gameplay, and extends the gameplay. Building, we have things like bear traps (yet to see one), barbed wire, and tank traps... but really? Those are all useless. I'd like to see an extensive set of building tools which go with crafting. Cutting trees, making boards, making nails, building your own structure. The possibilities for this in gameplay is endless. Whether it's you just barricading yourself from zombies, or working with a group to make a little settlement. Activities, Fishing? Better vehicles, Why does the engine damage before the hull? This makes no sense. The engine is encased within the hull. Hull should be damaged and then after that the engine/fuel would be more susceptible to damage. Obviously the ATV won't be able to hold as much as the UAZ, and the UAZ won't be able to hold as much as the Bus... but as it sits right now they for the most part all hold the same amount of crap. Lastly! I really like the idea of every vehicle in the game to come with its own unique set of keys. Once a player adds those keys to their inventory (only able to hold one set) it becomes theirs until they give the keys away, or the keys are taken away. To go with that, a "hot wiring kit" could be added into the game, when used it will be consumed and will allow a player to steal that vehicle. When I look at this game I see it as being potentionally the best survival/horror game to date. I want to see all the stops pulled and not just Dayzmod without the Arma 2 unneeded AI tactics and slightly better zombies with more enterable buildings. I'm not asking for all this upfront but I would be curious as to the direction of the game.

So many good storys here. Havent had time to read them all yet and hand out some beans but i look forward to reading alot of them. For now though here is my heros tale of namalsk. So i join a private hive server with extra vehicles and inhanced loadout on Namalsk. Fresh spawn at the old sawmill. Instantly i can hear the roar of rotors from the clouds. Im so close to old hospital i say fuck it and go there unarmed other than the axe i started with. Lucky me no zeds in sight. Noones there or so i think. I had found a winchester in the store so i was ready to fight for my life if needed. But with so much death flying in the killfeed I knew someone had stop these cowards raining death from the sky. After i blow the windows out of the hospital with a gernade i got off a dead zombie i hear a ural rolling up. I use direct chat to warn the intruder of my deadly aim but also of my intentions of not killing him if he would respond to my calls. He says "dont shoot im a medic" Im very unsure of this as i hadnt seen any medics around yet on the island in a week or more of hiking the snowy mountains. I decide its well worth the risk to leave him be to do his job if he's speaking the truth. I loot what i can and even found some antibiotics. As im leaving town heading towards the harbor as there is smoke billowing from something down there i hear the screams of a survivor getting eaten alive. Is it the medic i think? fuck it he needs a savior and im the man for the job. I sprint balls deep into a mob of zeds in the school. Blood fountain coming from the second story. He cant chat as hes out cold but im hoping its the medic. I take out 20+ zombies to get to him and also attracting every zombie in the area. I bandage him and continue wasting zeds while he morphines. I offer him blood if we can escape. "hurry down the ladder" as the stairs are full of hungry zombies. We made it out to the hospital. Blood transfusion a success. At this point i know he wouldnt dare try harm me. I could have taken his ural and/or a fresh spawned civ. heli he had parked next to. But I think he needs it more than I. As one last act of kindness i give him my antibiotics for any poor soul who may need them as i fear with so many heli's around i wont be surviving long. Its gonna be hell to get off this bare open fields island i had spawned on. So back to my mission at hand to investigate the downed player chopper at the harbor. Wide open fields seperate me from the crash site. I take off sprinting like its no mans land. The roar of rotors is getting louder! fuck me i think. I know they are going to old hospital as everyone must stop there eventually. I hit the deck in the middle of a open field. Keeping my head down i watch the heli drop 4 well equiped bandits to the hospital. Oh no All my help towards that medic is about to go down the drain. In the minute i had been running though apparently a uaz was being chased into town by the heli. Now half the server is at old hospital. The gunner rainging lead into town and small arms fire coming from every side of town. Im not equipped enough to take on either of these squads. What to do? I just watch from the open field hoping i wont be spotted. Names are scrolling fast as possible and dead bodys must be every where in town. Whats this i hear in the distance? Another heli is inbound. Im literally shitting my virtual pants as the first heli takes out the inbound one. BOOM it crashes only few hundred meters from me. The original heli swoops in to pick up any survivors they had left. To my suprise though they seeminly have setup shop at the harbor. Im behind enemy lines and noone knows im here. I sprint whenever i think the heli isnt looking or to far to see me. I make it to the base where i find their multiple tents of goodness. No 50 cals to take out the heli but im determined to avenge the medic. I take a m4 holo with m203 and a few explosive rounds. Im hiding in the construction building as the heli is now circling over head. They know im there. Zeds are all over and they arent fools. To my suprise though they land the thing! what? they must think im fresh spawn and havdnt found the tent. All it takes it 2 HE rounds to the side of the heli to make an amazing explosion. To my suprise 2 of the 3 are still alive and out cold. I stand over their bleeding bodys and tell them this is for killing so many fresh spawns and the medic. pop pop i double tap them both after my rant. Ahhh it feels good to be good. This is pretty long i know and i didnt even add all the little details. It was an amazing couple hours of heart pounding action where i mostly watched but in the end i was the one driving away in a ural full of loot..... with 2 downed choppers and 9 dead men in my rear view I head for vorkuta to help the poor bambis from them filthy bandits. Same tents & vehicles going walkies even when saved. Also Im still seeing people putting up tents INSIDE buildings and on concrete, you're not supposed to be able to in 1.7.3.

But has anybody noticed their vehicles dissapearing after server restarts or only that their inventories would be wiped?

Thanks for the reply! The thing is though, that it is still not working. I already had 5 heli spawn points and i put the spawn min to 5, yet i still only have 1 heli on the server. But i guess i could manually add the vehicles in the DB, but i was hoping that there was an easier way to do so.

Actually I've found out the problem. I have a private hive, and had found a vehicle that i was searching crazily for, (on my server I've modified the server to bring in some other vehicles) Well I found what i wanted took it back to my base and saved it. later diconnected and came back (before my server reset) andit was gone ( I was gone for 2-3 minutes) went looking for it.....it was in the same place as before. (I did save it at my camp, and no the server did not reset). After searching around....ending up on no no sites. I ran into a script that allows hackers to "add in" a vehicle spawn. Basically every time the server resets they drop the code in and bam that car is there. But if you ever save it its gone. I put that into my list of scripts to be caught and 2 seconds later a guy was auto kicked and banned from the server and the vehicle was gone. This may be your problem friend. I think there's a bug with repairing damaged vehicles in the new patch unfortunately.

I don't agree with safe houses and such... if you want to keep things as realistic as possible then every aspect of the environment must be hostile ground, players themselves could group up and make small towns into safehavens where noobies and other survivors have free reign access to said "safe zones" What you don't realise then is a civil war has happened (hence burnt out Humvees and military camps etc) so yeah some amounts of damage has been caused but i agree that there should be more vehicles but on the downside it would turn into a 40 player Destruction Derby.... if anything make more vehicles avaliable but make them more of a pain in the backside to maintain!

Today I noticed that hackers still running free lol Now needless to say I was in a public server tring to help my buddy in cherno seting up shop on a heavy populi server and notice on the corner of my screen people dying left and right like it was the credits of a movie :D My buddy told me he was finding unlooted bodies everywhere and there was one guy on a guilli with a as50 running around cherno in the city not camping on the hill or even using a more suitable rifle for CQB so I said oh wait.. hacker! Now this is what happend, I was in my tent inside a tree when I heard some slow footsteps and a wisper "hey..hey.. I'm going to shoot you and I just wanted you to know it before I shoot you" haha I just kept laying there looking in my tent and then I asked him "do you have a vehicle" and he said yeah and gave me a list of vehicles like a menu on a car dealership and asked me what would you like and I said I'll take the old bike lol.. I supposed he was doing his thing when spoof He got banned for hacking in vehicle hahahaha I know that this noobs get banned when spawning in vehiles left and right so I gave a public service anouncement on the server asking for a vehicle and like 15 people started to get banned one by one again like the movie credits on the side of my screen for hack spawning vehicles lol. Some times I scare the $hit out my self :rolleyes: So lesson to learned so far: 1)player tracker hack = still in service 2)weapon crate hack = still in service 3)Vehicle spawn hack= banned Now, I wasn't planning to troll this dude haha but was just trying my charm skills to see if I could squeeze my way out of that predicament and thanks to the not being able to diconnect in time I just tryed to not loose all my $hit LOLOLOL
