  1. Chernarus Coast Guard THIS GROUP PLAYS ON THIS AWESOME PRIVATE HIVE: http://dayzmod.com/f...onal-lootzones/ What is the C.C.G We are an organisation that just want to help people. That includes patrolling near the coast for any new spawners/people that need help. We will provide food and traveling service for the ones that need it. We will be having an Safe Zone, people that are trusted by our members may store vehicles in them. Though that is just an idea that needs to be worked out. C.C.G is currently: RECRUITING Requirements of joining our group: - You should act mature - You aren't racist - You have an decent amount of knowledge about the mod - You are able to think tactical (More of that after this) - You own a mic and TS3. We have our own channel so we won't get disturbed. - You must be able to speak english. It will be the language our group will use. Allies Our current allie(s) S.A.S Enemy's Not yet, though we know some people to put up here... The leaders We have people that will take care of certain things like managing the group, though we won't have people in charge of things. What i'm trying to say with this is that we will have basic things to do (Like patrolling near the coast). But when we are going on a raid/operation we will be grouping up with all members in the Safe Zone. Then we will discuss what we will do and what everyone's role is in the certain operation. WITH ALL MEMBERS! So everyone can have fun and it will still be a tactical approach.

Introduction Basically what this will do is add randomised AI Bases around Chernarus+ whether it be a prebuilt mini camp out is the wilderness or a random set of buildings with spawned fortification added around it. It will also add attack run AI units whether it will be a small force in a military vehicle or strong force in a transport helicopter. Construction When the server is started, like Helicopter Crash Sites, a set of prebuilt mini camps with be spawned in random locations most of the time spawning near Helicopter Crash Sites because this will symbolise the survivors of the crash. Other times it will be rogue military units fortifying a small town but there will be considerably more units here than at mini camps. Once the camps and fortified towns have been constructed, 10 minute construction time, the units inside the town will be protecting food/drink stores, weapon stores and a very small chance of a military vehicle but 95% of the time the military vehicle is heavily damaged and out of commision but repairable. These towns would hold unique/rare weapons that can only be found there like Helicopter Crash Sites, the same with mini camps but they have less units, no vehicles and very low amount if any of rare weapons but can possible spawn rare weapons. Weapons/Armour Very rare armour and military weapons will be found in these places, fortified towns more than any and very rare military vehicles will be found in fortified towns. The stores of found and weapons, especially if there is a military vehicle there will be locked up in some way. The commander of the unit will need to be killed to aquire the key to these stores, so some common military weapons can be obtained through out the town and camp while the rare items are locked up and you and your team if any will need to annihilate the unit and kill the commander before getting the good, worth while loot. Assualt Units This is actual non-rogue military units sent by, you guessed it, the military. They're extermination squads sent to get rid of zombie and survivor infestations as they can't take the risk with survivors being contaminated. They can either come in military vehicles or transport helicopters like Huey's but if they come in Huey's then a strong force is coming your way, very high powered weapons as well as M240 guns on the helicopter, a force to be reckoned with. But the advantage of taking on this military unit is some very good and super rare equipement but the units are very difficult to kill. The attacks only occur when a very large group of survivors stick together for too long and get spotted by UAV's or if a small group or one survivor makes a lot of zombies aggro and cause attention, the squad is sent out to mainly exterminate the zombies but the survivor as well if possible. Zombie activity is the main thing that aquires the attention of these squads. Military Buildings These are like fortified towns but are controlled by the military, from here attacks are sent like Helicopter attacks and land based attacks. They not only attack survivors and zombies but also rogue military units which disbanded from the military after their Helicopter crashed and was left for dead. They don't attack often but on occasion just to get rid of loose ends, sometimes the attacks don't end well for the military side and the rogue units grow stronger with the items they acquire. Military Bases/buildings are raidable but are nearly impossible to successfully attack and raid as they are heavily fortified, sentry guns, vehicles and a lot of troops with high powered rifles, survivors will need helicopters and vehicles and large force of there own to succeed. Conclusion There is no way to stop the military from sending these attacks. As such there are as vulnerable to zombie attacks as players are and can be killed by them as such, i.e if they come to exterminate a survivor that caused a lot of zombie aggro in a town then in the vehicle they came in will cause a lot of noise and as such a zombie attack will occur. Assuming in DayZ Standalone you will have to shoot zombies in the head to permanent kill them, the AI units won't all ways do this which will make them vulnerable. Vehicles can be acquired through military attention but is made difficult to get a hold of by the difficulty of the AI which can not be changed by the server but only by the Hive. So ultimately they will be very difficult to kill. As survivors are much more likely to make large groups as with base building coming into play this adds a lot more challenges to behold them.

    Its been a good day

    ok so this is the story i was really low on blood in elktro and i was passing out so may mate that killed our arch enemy REID cam and picked me up in a heli about 20 mins later he said when we were flying around he saw another heli on the ground so we landed the heli and checked the other 1.Now we had 2 heli's and without knowing what was in the heli we found a as50,m107,l85,fn fal and alot more stuff so to Reid i say watch your back were coming to liberate this bitch. After a few server hosts we've finally settled on using rMod with Bliss 4.0. By default the server is setup to have a minimum of 75 vehicles in it at any given time. Those 75 will respawn if blown up/destroyed/parked outside the map to the original locations. On top of the 75 limit we've also been adding vehicles manually around the map, from additional types of helicopters to extra unique ground vehicles, here's some highlights: Additional Helicopters(Apache's, Mini AH64 choppers) Humvees Black Surbubans Military style landrovers Many other unique cars Extra Buildings We know adding buildings in different locations can change the dynamic of the game but we've decided on this so far. Things can change as time goes on, we are always looking for extra spots to spawn buildings but here's what we have so far: Kamenka: Grocery Store (for basic essential supplies so you don't have to head over to cherno necessarily before going in-land) Starry Sobor: Hospital & Firestation Berezino: Military Barracks at exisiting military setup NE Airfield: Medical Tents, Firehouse, and 2 Barracks Northern Mini-City created with all the essentials you could need for anything Other misc buildings spawned(don't want to give out all the locations) Bases We're big fans of having in-server battles, we HIGHLY encourage PvP and clan fights; with that said we're going to be giving some bases out to members of our community who contribute. Bases can consist of military outposts that you choose to have on the map in which we'll spawn in special military buildings for you to have a place to go to and call "base". Forum Shop At Gamer Exit we've setup a point system for users to interact and contribute with the site to reward a certain amount of points to different things done. With these points you're able to purchase site specific things or actually items for DayZ. Surely you all must be aware of this by now but in case you’ve been living under a rock, or the maybe Quarry above Solnichniy, we are holding another Cherno Journo Twitch.tv stream kidnapping event. Here is the launch trailer with some quick backstory on how I ended up stranded in Chernarus Launch trailer Also here is the playlist from event number 2 (2h 15m) Although quite long it’s action packed and will gives you some great insights into how these events run.The Stream Kidnaping event works like this. I will stream myself on the server live for 8 hours at http://www.twitch.tv/cherno_journo - During this time I will spawn in at the coast and broadcast my position until I am kidnapped or the bodyguards meet up with me and move me. If you want to kidnap me just fire a weapon over my head or nearby and I will comply with all orders. I need you to fire a weapon to prove you have ammunition – you don’t need to hit me you just need to shoot near me. No shot - no compliance - simple. Once I’m kidnapped do what you want to me – except kill me – killing is bad. We have a special event server set up this time which will have death messages showing who killed me – you kill me on purpose and you be instantly kicked and banned from the server and therefore the rest of the event – so watch that fire. You can take me anywhere, break my legs, disarm me or barricade me into a building. I won’t ALT-F4 the whole time. The only thing is you can’t do it put me in a vehicle or boat or take me away from the kidnap zone – see the attached pdf rules and map for details of the kidnap zone. Kidnap Event Rules The catch is I’ll have bodyguards and like the President that will defend me to death. And once you have me they will still be able to watch the stream and set up a rescue attempt – I hope. The stream never stops and I’ll be broadcasting my location over side chat every 10 minutes once I’m kidnapped. The rules document has all the details - these rules are designed to keep the game sporting and fair but still allow people the freedom that DayZ provides. For the sake of expediency I’d ask that all kidnappers place a [K] in front of their name for the event and likewise if bodyguards can use a . If clans want to keep their Clan tags they can but they must identify on side which role the clan is playing. You can use the tags to lie, ie put a but really want to be a kidnapper. The bmrf TeamSpeak will have channels available for both bodyguards and kidnappers so I encourage you to use it to work together. You have a week to download it and get it ready so no tears if a bodyguard shoots you because you're not in TeamSpeak. If you don't have a mic you can still use TeamSpeak to listen in and communicate via direct text in game. The event only server, known as BMRF #5 – event server will go up Monday and will be a fresh hive. Nothing you do on that server affects other bmrf servers or public servers. All vehicles will be in their original spawn so get cracking and gear up. After the event the server will shut down and the database be wiped so there’s no need to get attached to your gear or hoard all the vehicles. So onto the important details.   8. Hey guys, Are you and your clan bored and want to take part in multiple clan wars (3-4 clans) or even a random cool event? Or are you just bored of all the hacking on public servers that it has got to the point you can no longer enjoy stashing vehicles and hiding tents and just want to play on a server that has multiple clans fighting it out over things? The Map we play on. Every now and then for a change of scenery we tend to switch map, at current we are playing on Namalsk and are Enjoying the hostile environment and the constant predator noises. When we change map we will notify every one and we will vote on the next map but after a massive final battle ofc! Then this is for you and your clan am looking for clans of all shapes and sizes to join my Private / Passworded server, All I require is that your clan has balls and doesnt mind dieing in legit fights, also I am very strict on hacks, scripts and will not hesitate to get rid for spawning, teleporting, using map markers or any type of scripts!     Diverse Landscapes

    Hey everyone, I am sure that this may have been mentioned before, but I like the idea so much I'll make sure to mention it again. I began playing Day Z a few months ago and have loved it. I have tried all the new maps and love how each one brings a new feel to the mod. The main reason for me was not the new guns or vehicles on these maps that were not available on vanilla Day Z but the envrionment. For instance my favorite map atm is Namalsk. I like it because it really feels like an apocolyptic wasteland. The snow, the wind, the cold, and the creepy ambiance in general really help provide a completely enthralling experience. That is what I think the new Day Z standalone map should have. A variety of climates. For instance I think that a small region up north should consist of large mountains covered in snow and trees and rocks, making the temperatures extreme this would be an area that only those well equipped to survive would venture. There could be incentive to go there or not. Because one thing I know is that people are always looking for a place to hide a camp and I think with intimidating and unwelcoming places on the map it would kinda enforce the risk/reward mentality. It would also add to the immersion, as long as the changes in climate were gradual and realistic. I am not talking seasons here (although that would be kind of cool) I am just talking about making different physical environments and landscapes to add to the already vast game. Thanks, [GG] James

    Invincibility bug?

    This happened me and 2 friends. We had 4, 3 of us were invincible, only 1 was able to be damaged. We were not desynced, we were even getting in/out of a bus, driving around. Couldn't die to zombies, bullets, or exploding vehicles. This is a real bug; One of out guys was able to die... just one (lucky guy!)

    Standalone Poll: First Person Only?

    I wouldn't mind 3rd person if it wasn't able to allow people to see over, around, or through things they otherwise shouldn't be able to. If that's not possible then 1st person only. Personally I wouldn't mind being forced into 1st person. However I would really like 3rd person while operating vehicles as there is so much blocking your field of view inside a vehicle. That being said you still run into the challenges I mentioned above. My biggest complaint about 1st person view (and this isn't a DayZ / ArmA exclusive problem) is the lack of peripheral vision. The 3rd person view does help simulate that. Also it helps while being prone. I can't hit a key to push up with my arms, extend my neck, and try to look over tall grass... so going to 3rd person view again kind of simulates that. Yes I know about peripheral dots and that's a neat trick but it's not peripheral vision. It's telling you there's something in your peripheral vision that you can't actually see because you have no real peripheral vision in the game.

  14. P1-Kashwak, thanks for the reply :) I tried what you said above yesterday, but the 'position' it stated didn't appear to match worldspace co-ords in DayZ? (Was I perhaps looking at the wrong place?). Also, from what I could tell, the small base id was just 'smallbase' but then I added that to the building & instance_building tables, it didn't work :( (although with individual buildings it did, just not with compositions :( Final question, any idea why using those static guns insta-killed me? I added them as buildings, should i have added them as vehicles or weapons perhaps??? Thanks :D

    Server issue

    Could've been closed. A number of servers are doing this with the standalone coming up, or close it to open a server on a different map. Easy way to tell this on commander is there will be a cloud with an 'X' over it next to the name and the ping will be over 1,000. Then make sure the DayZ patch and Arma beta patch is correct. Sometimes servers won't update the name, so you may have to play with it a bit until the text is white. Aside from that, see if they have a website you can go to for information and/or contact the admin/hoster. I feel your pain though. I've lost 2 large camps (at least large for one person) and some vehicles to closing servers, but as many say, this is DayZ, don't get too attached to your gear.

    Standalone Poll: First Person Only?

    Have I driven across the map on an ATV in 1st person using headlights in the rain/darkness because it was hard to see some obstacles in my path. Through treelines, etc? Yes. Do I go into 1st person to look at loot on the ground to get a better view? Yes. Do I go into 1st person when I plan on shooting? Yes. Do I think driving in vehicles/flying helicopters in 1st person adds to realism? No. Why? Because in real life if I was trying to look around at my surroundings I wouldn't have to negotiate 12 buttons while also negotiating the necessities it takes to actually operate the machine. Does that make it harder? Umm... sure, does that make it realistic? No.

I'm starting to think that maybe linking the ability to fly helis to experience/skill levels acquired in game may be a good move forward. ie you can only repair heli's if you have the books to learn how to do so, or have carried out repairs on a certain number of vehicles. Having those skills will make dying all the more painful if you're close to being able to fly a heli.

"survival" got too easy, and it turned into a pvp game the bugs with the tents and vehicles didn't help either. after wasting much time collecting tents, vehicles, and putting loot in them, I lost a bunch to them not saving, servers disappearing, etc. it just became a mess, and I gave up on any long term goals it seems Rocket's determined to make a survival game though. hopefully the stand-alone will be better, and people will have incentive again to help each other out
  19. Am I the only one having a problem with the map in the control panel? cause adding vehicles right to the database is in a pain in the butt. If I'm not the only one as anyone heard anything about it?
  20. Oh I know, they are in my database and do spawn on the map, they just don't show up under the spawns window. It's not a big deal it's just hard to space out vehicles and remember where I had them all when they don't show up. I get this error if this has anything to do with.     Server issue

    Hey peeps, i have a rather annoying problem, and am not quite sure why it has occurred or how to fix it. I have a huge camp on one public server, with about 5 of each weapon that i have acquired through legitimate ways, and a fair few vehicles. Up until iv had no problems, but now, the server only shows up on Day Z Commander, and not actually in Day Z server filtering, and when i try to launch into it from Day Z Commander, it just stays on 'Wait for Host''. Why has this occurred all of a sudden? Is there some kind of fix? Is the server updating to the latest patch?(it was still 1.7.2.6). It would really really suck if i cant get back into this server, because i was just about to move my camp to a server with active admins, and all the gear iv got has taken me way to long to get :(
  22. 4th server malfunction, lost everything I had 3 of those 4 times. The sting was made even worse when vehicles quit spawning. Server is now in its end of life, Nov. 30th it will fade into oblivion. (we now are making a custom rMod server, and have had most of the regulars transferred over. So it isn't a complete loss, but i'll miss my awesome old factory!) :)

    Airplane - Fighter

    I doubt they would leave that much high grade military loot lying around...they would try to destroy it at the very least. If not it destroy itself due to lacking maintenance which wouldn't take long with high maintenance vehicles such as military planes and helis. Ground vehicles on the other hand would be more durable.
  24. I'm more interested to find out what's going on in the minds of people who shoot vehicles just because they're in view. "Oh well done, blew out a tyre, what's the plan now dumbass?"I've had chats on VoIP with unarmed bandits, making it very clear if they were armed I wouldn't be playing nice, and come to the conclusion; everyone is still friendly and talkative, until they get a weapon. I've never driven a vehicle past any armed unknown person without them trying to shoot it. It's like dogs chasing cars - No idea what they would do if they ever caught up with one. Was this ever different? Because I don't remember it.
  25. Like a extremely high value military loot spawn? Just add in more vehicles to get there (and rappelling from choppers). Good idea though.
