As an admin of a private server I watched the posted video with a mixture of amazement and bemusement. I knew I had the tools to spawn/repair vehicles at will and I knew I had the tools to see where people were at any one time but I did not know about the spawning weapons thing. Having watched it all it left me with one question. Why on earth would anybody want to do that? Surely it just removes any and all fun from the game? I just don't understand what the point of doing anything like that would be. Surely you would do that a couple of times, realise the game had suddenly become boring and not in the least bit enjoyable and go off and find another game to play? It's not even like it's an instant "I win" button because, in reality, it's cheating and thus not winning. I will openly admit that I do occasionally use the map to watch others on my server but not while I am logged in as that would give me an advantage. I occasionally do it to monitor things to ensure fair play (and because it is a little fascinating to see how others play) but that is all. As for spawning/repairing vehicles I will admit that I have done that too. When I first rented the server I removed some of the bicycles and added some cars close to the coast for players to find. I will also repair a vehicle if it has been "eaten" by a glitchy server restart for example but if you crash your chopper, or whatever, you can fix it yourself. The same goes for me. So much of this game is predicated on trying to stay safe whilst running around collecting whatever resources you need for your current endeavour, be that finding high-end weapons to kill people with or enough vehicle parts to fix up whatever vehicle, that to do all that with just a click of the mouse makes the whole experience pretty much redundant. In my opinion if you (ab)use the admin tools as demonstrated in the video then, ultimately, you are just being a fool to yourself.

Hello, NL Forces is back in business. We've had a very populated server in the past, but because of hacking problems we closed the server. We want to give it another try with Gotcha antihack, but it's not that busy on the servers at the moment, therefore this post. We have two groups (bandits and heroes) and play against eachother at the moment, but we want more players to play with/against. You can find us in DayZ Commander: look for NL Forces. We've added a few more Cities, Map Markers, Weapons, Vehicles, and we're also accepted Player Submitted Bases! As long as they don't spawn in weapons all is welcome! Zombies have been increased! Hey guys, I'm looking for some icons or an icon pack of all the vehicles, deer stand, and other miscellaneous buildings. Just like they have it on the Dayz database map and other maps. Here's an example: Does anyone have a set or better quality of icons like those? Thanks!

They don't need to script, private hives have database access which is why this is possible. If you are playing on a private hive and you think the admin is using the tools to have an advantage (spot players, vehicles insert weapons for themselves etc) then it's time to change servers. Private Hives pretty much saved the mod from what can only be described as a cheating epidemic, these same tools allow a good admin to catch players teleporting around the map or replace players gear after a hacker has struck. If you don't want to play on servers where admins have these tools, stay on the public hive. You need to decide, do you want to play on a server where the admins have the tools to effectively combat cheating but are also be open to abuse by that admin (private hive) or a server where the admins have little control over their server and as a result cheaters run rampant. (public hive)

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls... here we go another round of mbainrot's mental diarrhea :P It is more than likely has already been suggested (maybe rocket should setup a JIRA like system (not necessarily JIRA) so these ideas can be tracked and merged more easily, maybe with helpers building search information to make it easier and more effective to search for existing suggestions) Basically your backpacks, pockets, necklanlard space, snatchstraps, etc (for all intensive purposes I will call 'em cargo holds because the mechanics behind them are the same with cargo holds just on a smaller scale) 's capacity are determined by both the volume and mass of an item. What would happen is when you load up your backpack is you get an indication of fuzzy weight (light as paper, "fairly light", little heavy, a bit heavy, fairly heavy, very heavy, ****ing heavy) of your packs weight.. if you make it too heavy then one of a few things (or several of a few things) happen. You injure yourself (hurt your back, bust a knee, etc) You can't get up (because the bag is too heavy) You randomly fall over or is more susceptible to falling over due to the weight Higher risk of random fracture (from falling, etc) Lower fall thresholds when falling from a height (because the weight puts more stress on your body when you hit the ground) The ass of the bag tears out because the stitching couldn't support the weight The bag suffers more wear and tear Your movement is slowed and you tire more easily You get thirstier more easily, you get hungry more often (because its hard work hauling that heavy ****ing backpack you know) When you run with a load in your back you are at risk of injury if the pack is not able to be properly secured (waist strap) People have a harder time dragging your unconscious muppet body around because you have half of cherno in your bag (could be a good or a bad thing, depending on the situation) Its harder to swim and you drown if you carry to much and end up in the drink and not ditch your pack. I am sure many people who have studied at any institution in which different classes happen everyday and have not opted to use a locker know what I mean :) Another extension of this and it will be interesting if the lets fly helicopters engine already does this... if you have too much weight in your vehicle (too many greedy barsteds hauling backbreaking loads) it adversely affects the performance of the vehicle (any where from making it harder to fly/drive to causing the vehicle to be unable to move (take off for a heli/plane, move for land based vehicles, capsize/sink boats) Now of course this is all good and proper for me to dribble my grand designs for this game, Obviously given the highload of the developers its prob a low priority which is fair enough. Once the stand alone game comes out I hope that a publically documented mod wiki is available to enable code monkeys like me to be able to sink their teeth in and provide patches to the developers to enable a more streamlined development workflow.

As far as I can tell, they spawn on restart with the loot already spawned as well. I believe it spawns a random number between 4 and 7. The only thing that is based upon proximity are the zeds. And there is currently a glitch where if you drive up right next to it no zeds spawn so you can grab the loot but not have to deal with the zeds. This will of course be fixed in the next patch when the spawning is updated to include when you are in vehicles and the zeds can start attacking your cars. I'm basing all this off of the past two weekends being crash site hunting from a chopper since they are much easier to spot. Hope it helps.

Good news :thumbsup: Though i would have thought the refuel issue would have been higher up the list of "things to do" rather than some of the things that made it into this release.....ah well don't want to moan i appreciate the work you guys have put into this version was just hoping to not keep running rMod to refuel the vehicles :(

Looks good :thumbsup: :beans: One thing though,I am running the 1.1 version on my server and refuelling vehicles can only be done with Jerry cans so i have had to enable rMod so i can spawn in the refuel trucks,this makes it more of a pain for players to join and play since it involves running rMod too. In the new version are you able to refuel vehicles at petrol stations or is it still done using jerry cans? I would much rather not have to enable rMod so refuelling is not an issue and more players can join without using rMod.

whatever happened to earning loot and gear, and not giving it away. I have a clan of 7 that would come mop you guys up but after I hear you talk about not liking when admins abuse and you spawning weapons and vehicles in as "incentives" in the same sentence really turns us off to that kind of atmosphere. What about the random players that want to join? They dont get the admin spawned in loot? Not fair imo. After all that I still hope your sever does well. 2 of us are looking for a private hive server that basically has normal DayZ settings. Not looking for 100+ vehicles, 20 choppers, no starting with NVG's and food. Just normal settings and one that has admins are every day. No global chat and all that nonsense. We are wanting to play legit and actually rough it a bit and enjoy DayZ for DayZ and not custom settings. Please let us know if your server is this so we can add 2 more to the list. Thanks guys.
