So I host a server and I recently have been reading the change logs of the newest patch. I noted that the AH6X and Mi17 are now 'unbanned' and have seen many videos and such of them being flown or found in DayZ. My question is, do I need to 'enable' these vehicles on my server, or will they spawn into the server by default? Or, are these for only Private Hive servers? Thanks ~Pineiro

Just as a final verification. From your response I am to assume the vehicles are 'added' back to the spawns automatically in the patch, and since I have updated to 1.7.4.4 I can assume the new vehicles are spawned and active on the server. I appreciate the swift response, thanks Fraggle. ~Pineiro -

Hi my name is Jeremiah, and the clan I am with, SwagGaming, recently put up a day z server. So far its activity is slowly climbing but I would like to see a large influx of people. Our clan is huge, and we have entered servers before where we became the most vicious kind of bandits and in many cases this would ultimately lead to those servers dwindling in activity until there was nothing. Because of this we have restricted ourselves to commiting bandit actions when there are over 10 people on the server, with at least half of them being not us. But the point here is that we want not only individuals to show up, we want groups to show up too. If you are an individual on our server, do not trust anyone affiliated with the server itself when it comes to "meeting up", trade, or giving a lift. It is 9/10 going to be a trap because like I said, my comrads are the worst kind of bandits. All that said we seek new blood to come to our server, and challenge our groups power. We've been trying to keep a small vehicle footprint, so there should be several ground vehicles and a couple helicopters around if you look hard enough. If you are an individual and a group, I(and only I) will help you find a ground vehicle. Also please note that we do have our own teamspeak, and if you encounter any problems with hackers or general bugginess of the game you may contact us on our teamspeak. You may also join our community, however it will not allow you to base with those of us who have been with the clan for some time. Our clan teamspeak is SwagGaming.ClanTS.net -
Question about private servers

rmod will let you put custom vehicles in the game you need to see what server hosting providers offer this hfb does on its highest pack -
Some more information here: We use standard Taviana vehicles with a few added civilian vehicles. You will find several vehicles within an hour of play. Weapons are standard.

1) They are pretty good, i recently used http://www.hfbservers.com/ for my server. The connection was great and there was no lag between me or my friends. 2 ) I am not completely sure, however i have seen servers with custom vehicles... you just have to find a way :) -
Hello all, this is my first story telling thread so please go easy :) I have been playing DayZ for a long time now, nothing gives me the same rush which I get from DayZ, but today has been one of the more fun gaming sessions I have ever had. I have recently made 2 of my friends buy the game as I was bored of wandering the wastelands alone. With them both being new, I had to go find them both and brought them back to Elektro to get suited up. We approached from the west and headed along the coast, coming across the ports and into the fire station near the church, we found an AK and a Makarov, with me being the more experienced I took the rifle. As we were on the ground floor waiting for a zombie to cross the street in front of us 2 shots from a DMR were fired which put me right on edge but thought that the shots were not aimed at us, until one whistled over my head, hitting the wall behind me. With haste we then made way to the church where we found a Winchester, which one of my friends took. We heard a zombie nearby get aggro'd and at first thought it was a glitch and one had seen us through a wall or something, but my friend saw someone in a ghillie suit stood there with a sniper rifle which he took a shot at with his winchester, tagging him on the leg, the guy ran off but we sat in the church prepared for an attack. 5 Minutes rolled past and there was no sign of movement or any sign of an attack so we rushed out the door ensuring we weren't going to be ambused by anyone and ran into a nearby house, quickly dispatching any zed's that had foolishly chased us, here we found a crossbow and some bolts, so with the 3 of us armed we were ready to move out of Elektro. My next destination in mind was Mogilevka (if that is what it is called) so we pushed north through Elektro through the back alleys checking for any signs of our escaped sniper or anyone else that we thought would be trouble, sniper shots rang off again but these did not seem to be aimed at us so we continued on our way. We were approaching the supermarket, and I was well aware that the hills on the left and right of the power station are popular spots for snipers so we ran inside the supermarket hoping for the best, I advised my friends to stay away from any of the open doors in the back because I felt we were being watched. We managed to get 2 Alice packs (I already had one previously) so both my friends had one, we also found a map, compass and 2 hunting knives, stocked up on food and drink then began planning our escape. By mistake one of my friends opened one of the back doors which must have attracted a sniper on the outskirts as immediately sniper fire began pinning my friend to the wall, he managed to run out of the room and we regrouped in the main entrance room of the market then quickly ran towards the coast, leading any following walkers into a house, killing them off as they bottlenecked through the door. Once all was calm we flanked round past the docks once more on the west side of Elektro, heading up one of the sniper hills carefully to not get spotted. We were finally free of the troubles of the major cities and headed for Mogilevka. After a good 20 minute run we finally arrived, quickly looting 3 buildings, gathering mainly food and more ammo, we pushed North-West to Stary Sobor. We looted the military tents finding an M4, DMR and AK-47 Kobra. I took the Kobra and put the DMR and 2 mags in my pack for later use, we then decided to head out to the NE airfield, upon leaving Stary Sobor, we found a crashed heli which we couldn't believe, we killed off any zombies nearby finally going in to claim our reward, unfortunately it seemed someone else had spotted it before us and beat us to it. Pushing East for roughly 10 minutes, we came across ANOTHER crashed heli and this we could not believe, mainly because of how close the 2 were together and how lucky we were to find them both! Hoping for better loot than the last one, we again took out all the nearby zombies and moved in, nothing exciting found just alot of medical supplies, which of course are useful so we packed up the blood bags, morphine and painkillers and moved on. We continued NE for a good while until I managed to get us lost, we pushed through many a random forest keeping an eye out for any tents we could loot, but we spotted a break in the trees with what looked to be a main road, heading in that direction we could not believe our eyes once we approached the crown of the hill, a Truck hidden amongst the trees, with ammo, medical supplies, food and some parts for vehicles all in the back. I jumped into the driver seat just to find out the Truck was running on empty, luckily the previous owners were nice enough to leave us 2 full jerry cans in the truck which we put to use. The truck itself was in pretty bad shape but the parts we needed were not in the back of the vehicle so we carried on as we were. After a while I finally found out where we were and we were back on track to the NE airfield. Not knowing whether any players were there, we parked up not too far away with 1 of my friends guarding the truck, the other 2 of us grabbed the 7 empty fuel cans in the back of the truck and made our way up to the airfield on foot. We scouted the area to find it was clear, so filled up the cans, checked the area for loot, but nothing exciting was found so we scurried back to the truck to fill her up. We moved the truck up to the airfield to fill up the cans we had used to fill the truck to the brim. It was then getting dark on the server so we decided to hide the truck and call it a day. Tomorrows mission is to travel to berezino and look for the parts we need. May not sound much, but it is certainly the best amount of luck I have ever had in one sitting of DayZ. If thats what your into. Or he could join a private hive such as CA1 where you have a debug screen, extra points for bandit kills, more vehicles, sidechat, more weapons and generally a much more fun and interesting game :) -
So, im trying to figure out how the chance in the world_vehicle table in the database works. How often will the server "roll the dice" to see if the vehicle will spawn or not? How do you (if possible) define a maximum limit of spawned vehicles in the server? If you want to add more vehicles to the server overall, what should you do? If a vehicle is destroyed, how does the server proceed (does it respawn it instantly or does it just rely on the possibility of a new spawn)? Thanks a lot.

.EU version has 90% of the changes in it that i already had to hack into the .com version. Helps reduce my server bandwidth. and reduces mission file size for everyone joining server. .EU has a nice idea for player spawns .EU also has alot more guns unlocked from the mod-file + plus streetlights As for performance loses, those can be improved back to previous levels... I just need to look over the code in the mod first, to see what changes the .eu version has over standard dayz.. Also the .com version i was running was v.heavily modified, thus the 551kb size of mission file clients received after joining the server Infact the real only main advantages to the .com version are different vehicles unlocked, and different planes / helis. Plus the fact it runs an standard dayz code with little to no changes. As for complaining about vehicles spawning serious server barely has changed over mod version.... I swapped vehicle types that were banned i.e vodniks & that refueling truck wont spawn / work in .eu version... So i switched them quickly over with something similar. Otherwise the vehicles wouldnt have spawned, would be annoying for players if they had a stash of items inside. ------------- ------------- So lets see my todo list is: Go over vehicle database + remove all banned vehicle spawn locations (still afew in there) Go over vehicle database + add in new custom vehicle spawn locations (slighty time comsuming) Compare .com / .eu version of tavi + look @ differences i.e the player monitor fsm & publicEH & server cleanup fsm and make performance gains Find out where the fuck in the .eu version code is it retreiving the default spawn items from Check code + Add killmsgs back in Check code + Grab improvements from new dayz version + Add alt+f4 bot Re-add in improvements to heli crashsite spawning Disable spawning of santa zombies (only if already altering the zombie fsm, otherwise not worth the 100kb+ file size to disable on its own) Re-add dogs + make them hostile / attack players ----------- ----------- So while i do ask people msg / mail me with bugs / issues Plz don't start complaining over a switch to a different mod version when its barely been 12 hours.... How about u allow the damn admin to get the mod running correctly first, and then i can slowly implementing changes to the mod. What's the best way to keep a sever populated?

Why not just make a normal public hive and monitor it daily?? Servers like that get a lot of players. Most servers went private and now have stupid stuff like 200 vehicles, stupid spawn gear, rules and changes none wants -

No. I wanted the Debug to track some progress because there isn't anything resembling objectives at all other than the tally. Yeah I was liking this idea best of the list. Vehicles are impossible to find. Players I'm trying to find. I'm sticking around Starry / NW, but nothing happens. -

It is as easy, as 1, 2, 3. :) 1) Lots of vehicles, helicopters and planes on the server. 2) Custom locations on the map - right now official Cherno map feels a bit dry after 1000th run. 3) Prompt banning of hackers and jerks, which prefer not to play, but to ruin game of others. Right now our squad plays on the server with private hive, which fully satisfies this criteria, and we are really happy. :) -
Pah, that's nothing! I was playing on a The Chill Bunker Namalsk server and a hacker joined. I stayed on taking screenshots and video clips of the hacker. Before I left people were asking the hacker for vehicles and to be birds. I left for about an hour or so then rejoined. And behold, behold, the same shit was going on.

Welcome! We are Do or Die Gamers clan. We currently run a server with the Taviana map which has custom bases set up randomly. Here's a few things about our server 1. we have active admins who love to help out. 2. all of our admins use Rcon clients to stop hackers and watch the logs. 3. we have custom bases we have set up in the arma II editor and we are currently adding more (this means a safe place to store your gear and vehicles) 4. WE DO NOT FROWN UPON PVP. If you get killed then you should have tried harder. ( please don't cry to our admins about getting killed) 5. we are currently in the process of building a web sight to allow you to know what we are up to and how to join our clan. RULES: 1.Please do not use voice in sidechat unless an admin has told you otherwise. 2. do not expect any admins to to fix your every problem unless it is something major (Hacker) 3. Do not whine or cry about getting killed if it was legit. 4. Admin base is off limits, if you steal anything we will find you and make you have a horrible day. 5. If you fire upon an admin that has come to help you, the wrath of God will come down on your head. If we arnt doing something to help another player that has asked then we are open to pvp. 6. If you approach the admin base asking for help please do not have your weapons visible. (Unarmed or guns in your bag) 7. You're getting too attached to your gear. Of course the game is going to be boring if you avoid trying to find vehicles, players and avoid any confrontation at all -_- -
Hey everyone that would like to play on this server, Kurmuh so called active admins admin abuse there powers. They give themselves weapons and vehicles all day long, I started complaining and ended up recieving a ban on the server and called a fag multiple times. I do not apreciate this and I hope this does not stand. Either find new 9 year old admins or I am never coming back to the server.

Alright. So I'm playing with my clan on a server. Middle of nowhere, we have a car(UAZ) and 3 tents. Then all of the sudden, a clan-mate/admin (they host the server) says, how's that UAZ going? I'm watching you. Ofcourse it is possible to find us but the chance is like 0.01%.. So me and my friends were wondering, can admins use some kind of tool, to see locations of vehicles/players/tents? I did alot of research on the bohemia forums, the internet and this forum. I read alot about that admins have normal abbilities like , kicking banning locking speaking ect ect, But the only thing that I found about hackingadmins is that they can also get banned, but thats really vague information. Can't they like delete the logs? So can they do it? Can they play big brother? I hope I don't ask a question that is asked alot. I know how its going on this forum with 1000 the same questions, and I hope I'm not bothering anybody :) -Kilhead2
