Hi! I had an idea yesterday, that I thought might be kind of cool. However, it requires some effort from the community and might be a bit difficult to organize. In addition, I won't be able to participate in any non-european servers. However, I don't mind if people wan't to copy this event anywhere, it would only make it even cooler. So, my idea was this! Let's have a race! Let's find a server, let people sign up as participants and race from the south west corner of the map, to the north east corner, following the coast line the whole way. At the end, we will have a prize ceremony, and the price can be for instance a ALICE pack full of goodies, depending on what I am able to collect, or people could even race for pink slips. So, what do we need? We need at least two or three vehicles, if not more. No restrictions on what vehicles are allowed, it can be everything from a bus to a bike and everything in between. The only restriction will be that it must be a legit road vehicle, acquired by legit means. There will be no restrictions on spare parts or extra gasoline brought on board the vehicles. We also hopefully would need a Huey with people both as pilot and as gunners, who will record the event and hopefully comment while recording. A Live stream would be kick ass! And I would also suggest that we have no restrictions on other activities on the server, so the teams who participate face the real threat of other players and all the zombies around. However, the teams themselves (the ones who are driving) are not allowed to be hostile towards each other. It would also be kind of cool if participants could disclose the time of the actual event, so that the only ones who knew about it would be the ones who participate in the event. The reason for this is to create authentic situations, where other players on the server react as they normally would when they heard or saw a vehicle. If people are interested, I will start collecting prices and accepting donations sometime after this weekend, or find someone who can help me do so. Just as a reminder: To be able to pull this off, a huge deal of social trust is required. Don't be the asshole who ruins the experience for everybody else... let me know what you think! - aLmAnZo

It is currently not possible to reboot a server via DaRT. You can, however, reboot your server through ArmA 2 RCon. Note, that I believe rebooting your server in this fashion is unpredictable. I've had problems with vehicles/tents not spawning when i reboot using RCon as opposed to shutting down the server, then restarting it again.

so I' ve found a Mi17 and just wanted to ask, if all the vehicles from 1.7.4.4 update are spawning regularly or was this mi-17 just hacked in by some script kiddies? I am playing on DayZ official hive servers.

To fix this problem, I don't think it is as simple as "toughening it up". You not only have to mess with the physics of how vehicles interact with different parts of the environment, but you'd also have to code how different impacts effect different parts of the vehicle.

Since auto repair is patched these things are like operating a vehicle made of fine china. Hit a twig and all 4 tires, fuel tank, body, and glass is damaged. I nearly killed myself hitting a picket fence at 5mph in the UAZ. I know this has been touched on in other threads, but come on man, this is absurd. Toughen these things up by 800%!

Community Private Hive Server Blacklisting

For some time now I am managing a nice list on the forum where all the private hive servers are listed with all their details. Because of the big increase in private hive servers over the months I am starting a new list: The Private Hive Server Blacklist. Since private hive servers do not really fall under the server hosting rules of the Dayz mod it is good to have a watchdog which can inform the community to avoid certain servers that have been reported as dishonest and accused for things such as admin abuse or foul play. A blacklist made by and for our private hive community. Please note that this is a community blacklist, and no actual servers will actually be taken down. This is a community blacklist of servers to warn other players of abusive and untrustworthy servers amongst the DayZ Community. First I would like to do a little introduction about myself. I am the admin of the European DayZ Community Servers, a set of private hives hosted by BR4INZ Squad. Since I am an admin myself I know all about what admins can and can not do on private hives and have a better understanding what falls under abuse or just server management. So many factors determine a reporting of a server and if a server/admin can actually be classified as bad. Players should understand that being the server admin gives you certain powers and overviews over your servers that normal players do not have. Having these tools and powers should not be the reason of a report if they are being used discretely and fair. I also play on the server I am admin on. Can I see everything and everybody on the map? Yes. Do I need to see everything on the map to better admin my server? Yes. Do I use it for my own gain and benifit? Never. Do I use it when I am playing myself? Never (totally spoils my joy of the game). Can I add gear to somebodies inventory or teleport somebody/vehicles to another location just by altering the database? Yes. Do I ever do this aside from replacing broken stuff to their spawnpoint? Never. On my server we also have a very tight community where everybody knows eachother and they ofcourse all know me since I keep a tight communication with all my players. They all know what I can do as an admin but there is an overall trust by the community that I am only using my powers for server management or problem solving. Kind of like doctor and patient or lawyer and client confidentiality. Trust in a server admin comes first, trusting him that he has his server and his community in its best interest. The reporting of a server can ofcourse not be done without some solid proof in the form of screenshots, videos or other screencaptures and not through storytelling alone. Reporting a server can ONLY be done as a pm to me so I can filter out the reports that are not properly substantiated. Public reports by replying to this topic will be ignored and removed. In your private message please provide the server name and IP along with the evidence you have collected. Examples of reasons for reporting a server could be: servers having no good monitor against scripters (so lot of scripting accures) admins abusing their powers for their own benifit (kicking/banning for no reason, database alterations for own benifit) servers having a bad community (majority of the players are abusive) servers being very unstable (disappearing stuff, laggy, lot of bugs) bad communications (unannounced server restarts/rollbacks, kicking/banning without explanation) Over the upcoming days/weeks I will alter this post as we determine some good criteria on what classifies a server as bad. All your opinions will probably differ on that a bit but feedback is ofcourse welcome and I will take everything into consideration to tweak the process to a honest one where no servers get put on the list under false eligations. There has been quite a few people asking recently about who want to rent a server from DAYZ.ST recently, so I thought I would also have a say. DAYZ.ST are by far the best server provider I have used(although my last provider was Survival Servers and tbh a badger and a cockroach could provide a better service than them), the control panel is incredibly easy to use and all the features work without too much problems. The important things: 1. Instant setup. 2. The server in the month I have been with them has had ZERO downtime, this is a massive contrast from my previous supplier where my server was down for 10 days and unuasable for many more. 2. The support is absolute first class, Erson is incredible at what he does, emails are answered within 15 minutes and he is always really helpful with problems. 3. The control panel is very easy to use and everything works most of the time, the editing inventories can be buggy at times but everything else is brilliant. The adding vehicles part is always an absolute must if your server runs RMOD. 4. Yes 'ALWAYS DAYTIME' does work on PVT Hives providing you set the restart interval to 8 hours. 5. The servers always run the latest versions of Beta Patch and Maps 6. Problems are fixed very quickly, look at Survival Servers people moan about problems many days later which DAYZ.ST have fixed within 2 hours. 7. New features are being added all the time which is an absolute great help, the live map is a brilliant feature. The only downside is no FTP access but I personally do not see where the issue is here. I could not recommend DAYZ.ST highly enough, brilliant lag free servers and very good/quick support. To see what I have to say about Survival Servers just go on there page. Or any post slagging them off because Survival Servers are absolute cowboys and should be shut down for being money grabbing arseholes. -

I do understand how your tools work and dont act like you wrote the complete script on your own. I am pretty sure you copied and pasted 99% of the perl scripts that come with the hive. Removing wire fencing and tank traps, and spawning vehicles can all be done with the db_spawn_vehicles.pl that comes with the hive. Not hard to set a cron job on that one. Custom spawns are not that difficult either if you know what you are doing. Changing the time can be done in the ini. All your tools do is put everything in easy mode for people that dont know what they are doing. But keep making excuses as to why it takes so long to release updates when it is nothing to do with your tools as there are no major database changes. If your tools are not working it is because they did not work before! -

100+ vehicles friendly server looking for clever players

Hey there! We've been fiddling around lately and we have about 6 choppers right now. Spread around. We only have a few players playing besides the friendly group that set the server up. When I say we are friendly I mean we don't shoot on sight unless you're a bandit. With that said, you can be a bandit if you want to :) We allow all play styles except hacking and duping. If you have a group of friends you're welcome to join in. If you want to set up a town or trading place, that's fine do whatever you want! Want to hoard vehicles? Sure do that. It's looked down upon by players but it's not against the rules. Want to raid the HQ of the server owners? Do it!! They will be pissed and look for revenge but they wont ban or kick you for it since they aren't unfair :) This is dayz. The individual player has equal power and a huge impact on everyone depending on his actions. The only rules at all is no hacking, duping battlelogging when encountering another player and don't be an asshole. Respect other players and admins. If they try to piss you off in chat by teasing you or are rude towards you, tell an admin and we will take care of it. Come play with us. Look for US 1271 It's hosted by DoV And before you look at the US tag and think "nah it will be too laggy" don't worry. It's a great bandwidth and we have players from Germany and Sweden with a max ping of 150! Come join or hurt your loin! <3 -

Good evening ladies and gentleman, Today I bring you another great feature for your favourite game mod. Working hard with my friends at Dayzland Community we ported another great island to DayZ and unleashed the horde. Hand in hand with Martin, the developer of Taviana Island, we are proud to be able to release DayzTaviana just at the moment Island Taviana will be brought to the public. Befor I start with the showcase I want to thank you my friend for the cooperation and support you offered us and that we are now able to release a working and balanced first version of DayzTaviana. *hat off* Taviana Island - Background, Geographie and Outlook When talking about Taviana Island we talk about the State of Taviana with a size of 625 km² established on two big islands in the Baltic Sea. So we should rather call it Taviana Islands. The two big, seperated Islands are connected with each other by the famous Bratislav Bridge. The smaller Island, named Lesh with a size of approxiamtly 48 km², is created by a volcano in the middle of the island. It features mainly agriculture areas laied around the mountain and some huge, dense forests scattered over the island. The Airport Krasnoznamenks is located in the NE part of the island a few kilometers beside the town of Krasnoznamenks which is one of the two bigger towns on the island. The southern part of the island is hold by tourists who spend their holidays in one of the uncountable beautifull resorts at the coast. The northern part offers a very unique attraction, a reacetrack west of the port of Stangrad, one of two big ports on the island. The bigger island has a size of approximatly 70 km² and is named Bukvac. The capital city Sabina is located in the middle of this island. Sabina is not only the capital but the biggest city on Taviana Islands with a size of 1.1X1.5 km. It holds a underground train station, tram system and many historical buildings giving the city a very unique modern stlye while keeping up the history of the state. The landscape is dominated by giant mountain formations on the island and the thick forest belts around them and at the coast. Two airports are located on Bukvac, Airport Dubovo in the south right beside Sabina and Jaroslavski Airport in the northern part of the island. The uncountable urban areas, mostly post soviet workers' settlements or industrial areas are connected with each other by an highway. A modern train system completes the public transport network. The pioneer role on the subject of renewable energy is clearly visible by the offshore parks and wind turbines all over the island. Many little islands and some oilrigs north of Bukvac are always worth a visit. Not to mention the countless ruins all scattered over the two big and smaller islands. There are so many things to point out about the buildings and landscape, just read it up in the manual we will hand out with the package. Martin gives detailed information about Taviana in there. It's worth it. DayzTaviana - Technical Aspects Now let us talk about some DayZ facts and features this port offers. Basically its pure DayZ gameplay with some slight changes and tweaks to improve your gameplay and experience. This means that every native DayZ function works how they used to work. We added the dependency on owning a toolbox to repair a vehicle. Will never understand why that got removed :P . Some lootrates are tweaked to work smoothly with the buildings of the island. Of all barrack loot has been decreased to fit the chernarus drop rate. Many little object compositions have been added to increase the atmosphere and give a little background for those that like to play DayZ in a roleplay style. This is still WIP and there is more to come in the future. Some new vehicles have been added/introduced. We intended the Mi-17 Civilian and Mi-17 RU medevac to replace the Huey. Therefor we removed the radar of this vehicles and additionally we modified the An-2. It's legit to bring an airplane in the game on a map of this giant size in our opinion. In addition we overhauled the boats. They now have an inventory and are finaly usefull. We increased the speed of the small boats and fishing boat slightly to make them less of a deathrap. In addition the temperature calculation has been modified to not freeze you to death nearly instantly once you enter a boat. To increased the atmosphere we decided to turn the streetlamps back on. In the future we will replace the vanilla arma2 streetlights with some better and realistic looking ones. In addition DayzTaviana will be the place to release and get player feedback of new technology we develope to increase your Dayz experience. So even if you dont like the island stay tuned. It will be worth it. DayzTaviana - Release information Although the work is 100% done release will be on 4th of November when Taviana Island is officially released by martin. We will start off with a hand full of server for you to get in touch with the island and for us to get some stresstest data. The server list will be released here together with the download link. Dont worry, serverfiles will be brought to the public after a short testing period. We just want to ensure that you can enjoy the product from the very first minute on your own server and dont have to struggle with bugs or performance issues. Streamers that want to get in touch with DayzTaviana from the very first beginning can "sign up" and drop their channel link, maybe with a short description of language/location etc. right here. You will get first hand information on when the servers go live and your channels will be advertised to allow those that dont have the chance to participate to get a first impression. I am over 30 and I behave like 12 :P I am the chief sniper and D-bag deluxe. I kill everything on sight like survivors, goats, rabbits and of course vehicles. After that I t-bag my fallen enemies..... No, seriously: I try to communicate with the other survivors. And my experience is the following: it does not matter if someone is 14 or 35, it doesn't matter if someone is female or male. The only important thing is skill and understanding of the game. I am no bandit, but it is ok if there are bandits and they can also kill on sight, IF they fight against geared players and no fresh spawns. This stereotypical bullshit like you are 14, you have to be an idiot is really dumb. I've met a lot of players and through my experience I cannot say this group or that group is a bunch of complete idiots. It depends on every single person! -

Yeah, I am too having issues with hackers over on the server I'm admin on. Can I see some of the logs? Have you caught anyone? I would like to know what to look for so I can ban them. EDIT: We actually had like 200+ vehicles spawned in on the server by a hacker. Our server kept crashing. We had it off for about 2 days trying to fix it. -

No but I can also create custom spawns using the map tool provided to me by my new Dayz.st server which lets me define vehicle spawns wherever I want without touching the db. They offer pretty much everything you do for the same money, the only feature I miss is being able to switch maps without starting a new database and that never even worked on my SS private hive. I even installed my own copy of BlissAdmin which is actually up to date and works properly unlike yours. Your Dayztool does nothing useful for the price you charge people for it, $5 for automated removal of deployables and out of bound vehicles that's literally it. I hope you enjoy having a reduced workload now all your remaining customers are leaving maybe one day you'll manage to write something that works properly. I'm glad I will never have to deal with your company again, you managed about 5 days of satisfactory hosting in over 3 weeks, with 3 days down time. GREAT WORK. -

That is completely false. We normally have updates within 24 hours for all beta patches and DayZ versions. Like 1.7.3 and 98866 were released almost immediately, as well as all updates before that. Apparently you're not quite understanding how Admin tools work. When there is Database changes we have to update our tools as well because they are ALL linked to the MySQL Database. Charging for something you can do on your own? Do you have a tool that removes wire fencing and tank traps, spawns vehicles whenever you want without needing to go into the Database? You can even create custom spawns integrated with the Run task in DayzTools. So please enlighten me as to how you can do all of these things on your own without a tool connecting to the MySQL database? UPDATE: Bliss 4.2 and DayZ 1.7.4.4 are 99% complete. We're having 1 issue with the Celle map, all other maps are working great and have been tested. The update should be ready by Wednesday evening once we get Celle working. We do not want to release it without Celle because it would be unfair to some of our customers if they had no admin tools and were still stuck on the older versions.
