hey, im very new to this server thing and im on survival servers and trying to figure out how to use phpmyadmin. first of all i have no clue in hell how to read the vehicle "worldspace" coordinates [319,[4128.79,7511.07,-0.049]] for example. i also need help with trying to spawn items in the vehicles like putting a food item in a vehicle like for example: [[[],[]],[["ItemSodaCoke","ItemBandage","ItemPainkiller"],[5,2,3]],[[],[]]]. lastley, how do i edit my character loadout so when i join my server i get say a gun and ammo. many thanks -

For me its the less weapons everywhere the better.I agree that finding the weapons in more realistic locations is warranted also but still just feel that finding any weapon should be a great feeling.This wanting or needing things is what survival is all about and we need weapons so it shouldn't be easy to find them.1/2 hour for a pistol is ok by me but you need to get inland and really move from town to town searching like crazy. SlightlyMad,from what I read there will be a couple of new types of melee weapons. NoCheats,there is something great about finding weapons in varying conditions BUT does that mean that weapons will be everywhere as they are now.I just do not wanna see Dayz turn into Borderlands. ;) Publik,some great suggestions there.I like that US weapons are Heli crash only.More Soviet weapons the better IMO even though I love the M4A3 CCO.Your fuel ideas are also great and this is something that would add to SA IMO.More vehicles with the needing part being fuel makes sense to me.Also,I am a realism buff and can tell you that I would love to see stamina added in(no fainting but rather walking when exhausted)with a slower run speed to more simulate jogging.I think that Dayz should be a gear as level game but that vehicles should be on the top of that list.Right now I never bother with them since I can run like a Kenyan and the thought of needing a vehicle never crosses my mind.But if it was a pain in the ass to get anywhere in Chenarus while on foot I think this would force players to need vehicles more.Again I feel realism will bring out more immersion from forcing the players to need more items.Cokes and Pepsi's could give slight stamina boost but you still wanna find a vehicle.Bikes should be everywhere with cars and motor bikes made more common.Fix the speed of the varying vehicles in Arma2 firstly though.Hitting 100 is ridiculous on a bike.I think 20mph max on roads and 10 mph on dirt is good with X2 those speeds if on decline.Slow down that dam tractor LOL its like a race car and should be dead slow. Edit<<<<forgot to add that I really feel that vehicles should disappear from server when you leave.This is because I hate losing a vehicle I work hard toget up and running becuase I leave it unattended on a map.Doesn't make sense that you would not be there to protect it and if cars were to become very important then players would rage quit. -

Come the 10th ill be leaving SS. Its a SCAM to be fair, They charge for tools. FOR ADMIN TOOLS lol. Tools that dont work, All the vehicles on my server are always fine, no damage, Even though i set it to lots of random damage. I have yet to repair a vehicle, Fuel works fine, sometimes half, sometimes empty, But the damage, and that's the main part of that tool, yet i get charged for it. I advise everyone in here to spread the news about this company, In your blogs, Facebook groups. Dayz fan forums. EVERYWHERE. These rogues shouldn't be allowed to do business. All they harp on about is the majority of our customers is happy. BULL. Look at the main DayZ forum, i don't think I've seen one happy customer, And if i do see a post from a "so-called" happy customer. They way SS do business, I wouldn't put it past them that its been set up. to make them look better. ANYONE who is thinking of renting a server of SS. please don't, Its a long process of been ripped off, the only out come will be you wishing you went with another company. Just like me and many others. The last straw for me was seeing SS cancel someones contract due to them ranting about the crappy service. "just because someone rants due to not been happy with there service, In no way or form should the company cancel the contract when that contract has been paid for" that my friends is scam, a con. A dupe. Bottom line, its a couple of kids who are renting dedicated servers from a datahouse, Got hold of a crappy admin tool and claim to be a company. Check this out, its funny, My server was down just short of two days, This is the reply i got "Everything is fine with your server, gameplay is not affected. The "unknown" issue is a bug with TC Admin. Every once in a while it fails to establish a connection and we have to restart the TC Admin monitor. It will usually go away by itself but I will check as soon as I'm back home today to see if it still says unknown. Sincerely, Survival Servers" Then "Hey David, our server host in Europe made a huge mistake and took our server down 2 weeks before our next bill was even due. They will be bringing it back online soon, we cannot even log into Remote desktop right now. So sorry for this inconvenience, we are very upset with our host for doing this. All of your data is saved, everything will return to normal soon. Sincerely, Survival Servers" It was still offline half a day after this reply. Brilliant ey. -
You need to build Bliss with the other map. I.e. when building Bliss: perl build.pl --world namalsk --instance 1 ... You also need to set the world type correctly in the instance table before spawning vehicles, otherwise they will default to the Chernarus spawn points. You must set the mission file being used to the Namalsk one in your server/config.cfg When launching the server, remember to include Namalsk in the loaded mods. Make sure to have the key files for Namalsk installed as well.

I only have 3 suggestions for this server. 1: Make there be a no Voice in side rule, you drive away a majority of players with some of these twats yelling over side. 2: 6hr restart marks rather than 12hr increases performance and resets vehicles for more battles. 3: (If there aren't any) Add turreted vehicles and 2-3 Gunship class helicopters (Apache, Cobra, Viper, Hind, Ka-52) Other than that. Nice offer you got there! Is it still valid? :P 1. L85AWS. Lost mine when hackers teleported and killed me. Mags not necessary. 2. Finland 3. A tent, mountain dew, m107 and a ghillie. If that isn't enough, I can throw a GPS to the trade. But if the free nvg+ghillie offer is still valid the ghillie trading is quite pointless? :P I could use the extra nvg's and maybe rangefinders as well. Please let me know what you are asking. 4. I'm currently near Berenzino and lost all vehicles to old servers I used to play in. 5. If it's safe enough, lol :D I can also walk but if you can get closer to north (preferably berenzino) it would be nice. Don't fear my low postcount, I have hero skin and I wont stab you in the back. Towards the end of the summer what remained of Freeside Trading Co. started working on our own version of DayZ. It used ACE and ACRE and a good 1/3 or 1/2 of the ACE guns (and radios, oh the radios). I was working on the rebalanced loot table, and what we had ended up like this: Changed heli-crash loot type (Helicrash) to American, which had US/EU weaponry, all your gucci M4s and so on. If you wanted a M-whatever, you had to go to a heli-crash. Barracks held nicer AKs (107s(?), AEKs, etc) and the baser ones (103, 105) but with nice or extra sights (like laser/flashlight). This alongside the crappy AKs and other military junk. Extended barracks loot type (MilitarySpecial) to control tower and other military buildings to bring focus off NW [*]Lower military gear in tents and so on [*]Civilian rifles and shotguns in hunting stands (new loot category, HuntingStand) and sometimes houses [*]Civilian handguns in houses and stores Ammo was rare in all cases. The division was also around 25% tracer, 50% standard, 25% split among anything special (AP, explosive). Sniper rifles had as much tracer as standard. We also had specialty weapons like the starlight (sp?) flaregun. Because of the number of different weapons and the scarcity of ammo, it was a tradeoff between hoarding all the ammo or just taking what you needed and involved a lot of changing weapons. On the topic of hoarding gear, we were using ACE so we had weight on top of the inventory slot restrictions. If you lugged around 3 guns (which was possible), you'd only be able to run so far before blacking out. Story could support this setup as well. Eastern bloc country is one of the sites of infection or the epicenter, and US/EU helicopters are flying over for extraction missions or intel or whatever. Those are the helicopters that crash and the main source of US/EU weapons. If you want anything else you can either hunt around the military outposts for an AK or stick with civvy weapons. The result? It felt like we were in Chernarus. If you wanted a military rifle you used an AK, because that was what you could find. In the rare case of a chopper crash, you might find an M16A2 or something, and very rarely you'd find a nicer gun. You also had to keep track of what kind of ammo you were using, because if you used tracer you'd give away your position, but in some cases that'd be all you had. For the most part, though, you used handguns since they were rather plentiful. Little 9mm's were all over the place (relative to rifles). Among my more ambitious plans was making fuel a nearly finite resource. Fuel tanks would only fill back up at around 1L/hr, so it could take an entire day to fill up a can of gas. I'd also planned to let people siphon gas from other vehicles, pour fuel from cans to tanks, and construct fuel tanks. Vehicles themselves were all over the place, but parts were much more scarce. If you wanted to drive you had to have the resources to not only repair the thing and keep it repaired, but you also had to have the manpower to secure a source of fuel or take someone else's fuel. I hope dearly for something similar in SA. -

With ArmA 2 the clients are mini servers that can create weapons and vehicles, teleport around the map, mark locations of any object on a map, or compile code to be executed on other clients and/or the server. In DayZ Mod this is locked down, but modifying the client can unlock much/most of this functionality (at risk of getting caught by battleye). With the architecture described in the blog post, the client would inform the server what it wants to do, but the server makes the decisions. The client won't know everything going on on the map, like it is now, but a resourceful hacker could modify the client to present what the client knows, but normally wouldn't tell you (like making players show through objects); this would risk getting banned though. -

Laughed my ass off when my buddy got killed by a guy with an axe. Anyway we got very geared, fixed two military off roads and hid two tents full of pretty nice weapons. Didn't find any NVG's or AS50's but our guns were all high tier. We were traveling back down to Celle (the town) and were stopped dead in our tracks to a server ban. This was due to NOTHING we had done. We were not warned or even addressed by the admin. This had nothing to do with our play style or banditry due to the fact we had been setting up tents and parking vehicles for the last 15 min. I would stay away from this server. The admins seem to blatantly abuse their power and ban anyone they feel is a threat. If your looking for a good Celle server keep on moving. I would love to hear from one of the admins. Oh and if they try to accuse us of hacking or exploiting and anything like that we have our entire time on the server recorded on twitch.tv at www.twitch.tv/jwill339

Damn, lot of questions there. Here it goes. We mainly play on our server. Though it changes maps time to time if a new one comes out. (it's on Chern as of this post) Anyone is welcome on our server as long as you don't use voice over side chat (typing is fine). The server rules are more or less common sense things. The only things that are for members only is a soldier skin so that other players can know who is an admin or who to report things to. We go out and find our gear after that like everyone else. There are new buildings added to the map by way of custom bases\outposts scattered about (most are not finished yet) and a TON of add vehicles (choppers as well) but they are for anyone to find and use. Style of play. Fuck as I know what to call it. It's like a bunch of buddies playing a good game together. Times it's taking over a town with 2 teams (T1 for CQC and T2 overwatch) other times it can be just doing random crap. I for one like to run a taxi service depending if there's a need of it. Server name is "Dayz Chernarus 24/7 daytime (1.7.4.4/99153) Private Hive lots of vehicles & Loot Come Get Some" Long ass name I know. Was to lazy and\or forgot to type it in the OP. I'll add that in after this. Average age is somewhere in the 30s I think. We've had people in their 50s join, just as long as you're at least 18. With age brings good stories and without brings "that voice". The bulk play around PST evenings up to about 1-2am PST if work or wife's don't get in the way. That seems like all of your questions. If there's anymore feel free to type them out. I may not be good with words, but I'll get you answers if Im able. -

In respect to Arma 2 glare: It's like Steven Spielberg took control of my eyeballs and set them to fuzzy nostalgia. I keep trying to wipe the Vaseline off my monitor to no avail :) -

I have a question regarding vehicles and helicopters in the standalone game. I know it might be a bit early on in the development cycle for this, but I'd love some more intel on this regardless! My question is, to what degree can we modify what and what amount of vehicles/helicopters appear on our server. For example, in the current DayZ build of 1.7.4.4., we are limited to three types of helicopters. As in the standalone all decisions will be made server-side, this means that vehicles no longer have to be banned client-side, which would also mean that we can add in any vehicle we'd like. That is, if they're included in DayZ itself. How many vehicles will be included in the standalone, and will server hosts get a wide array of vehicles to choose from?

[Welcome to Infinity Server!] This server is fairly fresh with plenty of good loot spawns, heli crashes and care packages! New vehicles are spawned in when admins are online to do it and they will be placed when the server restarts every 3 hours. We aim to be an anti-bandit server, the admins are especially friendly and will always be happy to help. Just look out for players with our [infinity] tag. The server is monitored by Gotcha-AntiHack and have a ZERO TOLERANCE on hacking. Inventories are monitored regularly, teleports are instantly detected and banned. What to do if you spot a hacker: - Instantly take a screenshot of the hacker in action! - Report to anyone with the tag [infinity]. - Further action will be taken from there. - More reliable resources will result in action being taken to ensure they are banned not only on this server but reported to many other server owners. Welcome to Elite Tactical Gaming! We are a group of friends who begun playing DayZ when it first began and have become addicted to it. We would like to build a community of players around our server that want to have fun and play DayZ. You won't be banned for killing admins or stealing our vehicles though we may hunt you down like the bandit you are ! Features: - Running a Bliss 50-slot private hive server - Running 24/7 - Veteran Difficulty - 3rd: On - Tracers: Off - NP: Off - CH: On - DM: On - Currently 150+ vehicles more may be added later - Always Daytime (For now may change later) - Vehicles / Tents properly saving - Side Chat enabled (though we don't want people using it for voice chat) - Death Messages currently enabled - Updates / restarts happen pretty fast and you get prior notice - Server in US - Database backups every 30 minutes - Our own private Mumble voice chat server Rules: Things not allowed No hacking No duping intentionally No ghosting - pretty much this shouldn't be possible on our private hive, but just in case someone finds a way to do it.. don't. No hoarding of vehicles - if you're two people, you don't need 5 vehicles. If your group has 1 helicopter, leave the others alone. This does not mean you can't steal vehicles from others, it just means don't create a parking lot of unused vehicles. No Alt + F4'ing to escape other players. Don't care if you do this to get away from zombies. Refrain from killing fresh spawns. You won't get banned if you happen to kill one, mostly what we mean here is don't camp the beaches looking for new spawns to kill. (Robbing, taking em hostage is fine). No using barbed wire or tank traps to block off popular spawn sites (fire stations, churches, etc). Exceptions to this are if you are inside the building at the time or if you are using the location as your home base. No begging admins for weapons or vehicles. If we want you to have it, we will add it as a spawn to the map where everyone can compete for it. No VOIP in side chat. We don't wanna hear your music, heavy breathing, TV, etc. No trolling or harassment over side chat. No excessive use of bad language, racist comments, basically use your common sense. We're not gonna kick your for expressing your displeasure in the fact that we just killed you, but just don't go overboard. Things we DO allow Kill on sight (KOS) is allowed though we encourage you to interact more with other players as we are trying to build a community here. Bandits are welcome, though we'd much prefer you truly play a bandit - hostage taking, robbing, etc are encouraged over just shooting on sight, though you won't get punished for KOS. Base building at major locations. If you can protect it, it's within your rights to own any spot on the map. Be prepared to really have to fight hard for the more popular spots. Role-playing is encouraged though not required. Anyone purposefully trolling or abusing someone attempting to roleplay will be dealt with harshly. Forming your own groups / clans. We'd love to have other active players on the server, whether bandit or survivor. If somehow you lose your gear / vehicles due to a hacker, the admins will work on replacing what we can. If you lose it due to zombies, bugs or glitch, we will not replace it. Sorry for this but it's impossible for us to prove you really lost the stuff this way. Interested in joining? Forget the choppers. People would be firing these things at players, into buildings they knew players were, at vehicles, and anything else that would cause maximum grief. I love how dudes think they can just look at some pictures or even read some instructions and know how to use these things. Yeah you'll figure out how to point it and fire it. That's a FAR cry from operating it with out harming yourself, those around you, hitting a moving target, or even hitting a stationary target. It's already so sad how any idiot can pick up these highly sophisticated long range, high caliber, weapons and shoot them like it's a BB gun with a scope on it. Now we should throw in rocket launchers? NO Enough with the elite military weapons laying all over and stupid easy to use!
