The M136 served no purpose because it had a pathetic blast radius when it hit something, it would still kill anything it hit but anything around it, only suffered hearing problems and/or minor damage, it was more designed to take down structures and vehicles not infantry. The RPG-7 on the other hand, has had ammunition tailored towards anti-infantry. ARMA II even has the round already, the OG-7V which is an Anti-Infantry High Explosive warhead or the PG-7VR which is an Anti-Tank Warhead, which is basically what the M136 did and was intended for, Vehicles. Its not unusual to have a grenade launcher function as a flare gun or even a police riot weapon in certain parts of the world where using a small handheld launcher is forbidden and the requirement to own a larger rifle type is more prevalent. The way I picture a grenade launcher in Day Z, is a standalone weapon like any primary weapon out there, it replaces your currently used weapon. How many times have you wandered through the streets of Chernarus come across gas stations, deer huts, fire stations and airfields to find 40mm Smoke/Flare/HE but the only way to use 'em would be to find the equally rarer M16/M4 M203 combination. And those I'd think are certainly alot more useful than having a standalone launcher. It would also give people a more dynamic weapon for which they can use to clear crowds of zombies as opposed to throwing smoke grenades.

Lately I just started playing DayZ again and the only server I have been playing on for long periods is "Us 2317 no PVP 100+ vehicles." Yet I just tried to join it and it said I got a global ban......I don't use hacks as I don't want to ruin this great game and I know as a fact most hackers get caught so I have no reason to cheat. I cannot think of anything I did wrong and I find this complete bullshit considering im paying for several private Hive servers. If there is anyway for me to appeal this can someone please tell me.

That's a really low amount of vehicles...

Hey guys, I just started up my Namalsk server (Hosted by DayZ.st), and I would love to see some of you guys there. I'll explain all the things my servers got. The first thing, and I think the one a lot of you guys will like is that it's got a starters package. Nothing OPed or anything, but you start with an M9, some basic warmth/medical supplies, a watch, and basic navigation tools (Map/Compass). The second thing I would like to say about my server is that we've got plenty of vehicles to go around right now, so if you're looking to jump in with buddies load up on vehicles/weapons, now's the time to do it. We have 10+ helis on the map at any given time (Though most will need minor to major repairs, they are there, and shouldn't take long to fix up), and 30-35 land vehicles which most will need some minor repairs, none with major repairs though. Another thing that I think makes will help make my server more enjoyable for you guys is the active admins. We currently have 2 admins, though we're looking for more at this time, and we're on the server and looking for hackers etc. almost all the time. Getting a convoy of 4-5 vehicles going, so amazing.

im finding that in order to store supplies for myself and a few others we are keeping to many vehicles in the forests, this makes camp easier to spot and takes away vehicles from other players... somehow it would be nice if there was a way to build a small camp with say 1) entrenching tool, 2) cinder blocks, 2) scrap metal (roof), this would allow you to build a small camo structure which could store at least equal to a mtvr/ural vehicle. maybe depending on the number of blocks and scrap you can select build small or medium structure.... just an idea

This is an obvious and much needed addition to the game. Thought I should post a little blurb about a private hive I run.We have a small community of both bandits and survivors, and recently moved from Lingor to Panthera and we're loving it.Our hive has max vehicles, including Humvees, Ospreys, C-130s, Chinooks, and basically every unbanned vehicle Panthera will allow without the use of rMod.All fresh spawns start with a revolver, NVGs and a map, the rest is up to you.Lastly, for more info, head to our forums at http://hive.dayz.stSee you soon!

all vehicles are very easy to destroy

Ye no choppers are spawning atm, theres an error in the RPT which shows a chopper creation error. Ive raised a ticket for this. All other vehicles spawn fine, and theres a lot of vehicles at the moment, also a lot of tents !!! :-0

So where is the class names for all these new vehicles i can only spot 1 new truck in my spawnlist and the classnames from arma 2 dont work. is there a way to find these class ids somewhere that actually work=

I like this idea. The M79 should be added and if not the M79 then something similar made in some eastern bloc country. It would be a good balance because it only shoots one 40mm grenade at a time and would be usefull due to there being HE, smoke and flare projectiles enabling it to be an offensive weapon or used to light or smoke the way. The RPG is also a good idea and if it were added allong with the M79 then the addition of some lightly armoured vehicles (BTR 40 or something) could happen because there would be a weapons that could take it out. RPG's would have to be rare and have a HEAT projectile that could be found at military sites. The HEAT projectile could be used against both infantry and vehicle targets, which would be better than having several different types of charges which would add to the loot table allot and be confusing to organize.

Looking for some advice. I play on an official server. As of a week ago all the tents disappeared, but my vehicle remained. I hooked up with some admins and players, some vehicles respawned and other will not. Currently the time is not right sometimes staying light 24 hours. Also the little bird, hind nor heli crash loot sites will spawn. All the normal in building and barracks items spawn but were all baffled. The admin tried to do a server wipe and it did not work. He just put a ticket in to Dayz dev's, has anyone else come across this? The official server was password protected but it has since been opened public. The spawn and tent issue happened when it was still on password.

Whitelisted private hives are definitely safer from hackers than public ones, but they come with built in hackers, namely the admins. They can do quite a lot, spawn in gear, vehicles and spy on all player locations. Butthurt admins who rollback their server if something goes wrong and give custom gear to themselves and their friends is not any better than public hack infested servers.

Constant admin protection mainly. Aka, no hackers. Also, if you found a vehicle on a public hive you'd have to stay on the same server. Private hives also have custom settings and areas. Many servers have completely new towns, and some even have trading posts. Many have custom loot tables, meaning new guns. There's one private I know of that has over 1,400 vehicles on it at all times! (here's the server ip if you wanna play on it: 198.136.25.138:2372).

If it's choppy with a lot of people, then yeah, it's the internet connection to the server. Some people like private hives because usually there is better control over the hacker situation and because things are usually tweaked to fix or add. Like 150 vehicles spawn. Or you can't fall through walls. That sort of thing. But I'm with you, public hives to play multiple servers. Try different servers. If it's still choppy, then I'd look at your internet connection.
