That's just the way we like to play. It's not for everyone, I get that. We are focused on PVP, so starting with all the gear makes that more fun for us. Plus the AK isn't the best gun, so there is incentive to work together and find better gear. Plus, even though there are a lot of vehicles, there are only so many SUV's and other good ones. So you find one and then protect it. It gives the game more of a challenge for us.

3 tables are important for vehicle spawns : 1) "object_classes" table, this is the list with allowed vehicles to spawn(do not know if this is also the so called "dayz locked" vehicles), i do know that any vehicle you want to spawn in has to be in the classes table. 2) "object_spawns" table, this table hold ALL data to spawn a vehicle, this list has all spawnpoints of all vehicles. ( if you want to spawn 2 UH1, the "object_classes" needs to have an entry for a UH1, and the "object_spawn" needs to have 2 entries for a UH1, each with a different spawn location) 3) "object_data". this table are the actual spawned vehicles that will be read by the server and placed on the map in the server. This table is created true a script, each time the database is restarted it will check this list and if not available or changed it will respawn the vehicles again. I do know how to do in on a DayZ.st private hive, but i do not know where you have your hive. On DayZ.st you get a map where its just a right click to add and delete spawns on the map. If you want to add vehicles outside of what the server offers when you buy it, you need to go to the servers database and manually script it in (or thats the only way i know how to do it). As for the specific files it depends on the vehicles, and i am not 100% on how it works. Try google, im sure there are guides somewhere out there.

It's already in the game. All the skills you require to master DayZ and ArmA are skills you develop as a player, not as character bonuses. You become a better shooter, because you realize that bullets have ballistics, that sometimes a bullet passes over your target and sometimes it falls short. You learn to ID the sound of a weapon fired within hearing range, what kind of weapon, it's general direction, the distance and whether or not you should be worried. You become better at navigating Chernarus, because your area knowledge expands and you become a master of map reading. You learn which locations yields the best chances for the type of loot you requires, you learn where to look for vehicles, players and their camps. You learn how to become self-reliant and become comfortable operating close to zombies and population centers. If you want progression, leveling and long term motivation, start analyzing your deaths and begin learning from your mistakes and experiences.

Numbers of vehicles is determined by the Server Admin not the map!Keep on licking!

Too much threads about vehicule suggestions, i'll post that here. :) Recently, our admins had an experiment with the Taviana server i'm playing on : we had almost twice vehicles as usual after a restart, and we waited until the next restart to drive around the map. The results were quite satisfying, and added a lot more apocalyptical feeling than expected : in the beginning, everyone were driving something, derping around in big cities, trying to kill running players, etc... that was a total mess. But it turned out that a lot of players crashed their cars in trees or buildings because of their excitement. And when you drive around with your clan and see that kind of scene, that's much more interesting than already spawned wrecks, because you actually know that someone was around at some time, and may still be stalking for curious/careless players. (effect++ when the engine is still running) The point of this post is that I entirely support the idea of much more vehicles, but with less more fuel ressources (and limited fuel at gas stations), because it adds a lot more of this apocalypical, recent end of the world feel.

The additions made to the map are quite pleasing, and really add a great change from the run-of-the-mill default setup. The loot rates seem to be quite good for low to mid tier weaponry, and very good for tools and food. A definite recommend for fans of Chernarus looking for a strong expansive community, and a twist to the "usual". Teleport, ESP, Godmode, Nuke, Falling from Sky, Hex'd(Turned into a Cow), Broadcast script, Downfall scriptI(Changes the colour of the game to a "Wasteland"/Orange-Yellow), Spawn gear/vehicles, Apache attack heli, Zombie spawn(half a million Hospital Zombies spawns), Death aura(Players and Zombies), No zombie spawn aura, Invisibility, Spawn of Buildings, Script restriction kicks(Yes, Hackers can kick people), Thunderdorm - and the list goes on.

Someone watched too much "pimp my ride" ? I'm not sure of the point considering vehicles are mostly a transient thing, you use them until they get taken/destroyed. And i sincerely hope the SA won't feature any retarded "protection" for them.

Namalsk Sebjan Air Base I just finished looting the place and as I was leaving I saw a horde of zombies chasing someone over the horizon. At first I thought it was only one person. I thought, "That poor bastard. I'll leave him be", but he had a buddy right behind him. They were decently geared. Both had Enfields and ALICE packs. Decent gear and better than my start pack and 4 shots of Winchester. I was laying in a tree when the first past. After a couple of seconds his friend followed close behind. It only took one shot. He must of been pretty low on blood. I wasn't sure where his buddy was. So I decided to play the waiting game and change my position a little. A few minutes go by and a UAZ and white truck pull up at the airstrip at opposite ends of one another. One person jumped out of each vehicle.Intrigued, I watched close by hoping I wasn't spotted and was hoping that other survivor would show his head as well. He didn't. But the firefight between the two individuals was a good watch. Both had M4s but the man in the UAZ had a GL attachment on his. You can guess who won that battle. Both vehicles were destroyed and a dead body lay near the steps of the tower. The "victor" approached and was met with a shot in the back of the head. Instantly dead. I figured, "That other guy must have logged" but did my stealth climb up the side ladder anyway and slowly crouched around the top tower. I aimed my sights down the steps.. waited for no longer than 5 secs when a survivor's head suddenly spawned right below me, right on my sights. He died before he could really do anything about it. Pretty good returning experience if you ask me lol. I'm glad my hiatus is over.

I wonder if the vehicles can take E10 or Vodka... In case you turn it on you also need quite some time to clear the system, not just rinse it once...

Hello all, I recently started my own DayZ private hive server, and here is my question. I am looking to make custom/unique vehicles, lets say a ural with 400 item slots 20 bag slots 20 weapon slots. Ok, Im not really a noob. Just took a long break. First question: Is it worth gathering/storing vehicles and tents? Or do they still vanish and respawn at their original places when the server does a reset? Seeing as how every server I've played on does standard resets nearly every day, it would be rather pointless. Then again, how are these you-tubers doing it? Second question: Using Dayz Commander, how do you go about searching for a specific server by IP? If not possible, how do you go about doing it with the in-game server browser. We would like to welcome everyone to join us on our new server and mod called 5DayzAfter. BACK STORY: It has been 5 days since the news of a clinical test drug started to turn people in flesh eating, brain dead Creatures that only purpose was to feed on the living. Day 1: The Emergency Broadcast was broadcasted over every radio station and T.V Channel in Chernarus, Instructing everyone to evacuate to the North-West Airfield where the army has setup a safe haven compound. Day 2: On my way out of the house you receive a phone call from your ex, Asking if you can come to Elektrozavodsk and pick them up. After a hour or so of talking I hang up with my head hung low cause I know this will not turn out fine, That is why they are my ex. I arrived late last night at my exes house, So we decided to wait til morning to head out. Day 3: I woke up early this morning with a pounding headache from all the noise outside last night. As I am loading everything in the truck to head out, I notice that it is very quite on the streets compared to yesterday, So I open the drivers door and turn on the radio to see if anything is being announced. After scanning trough a couple of stations I come across a weak signal with lots of static but I can make some of it out. RADIO: This is the mayor of ...ban...o br........asting on .............. station just ou.......ide of k...sno...av! Do .....t I r.....at do ...........o the ................................................... the military is ............................. on site! I rep.........ot go to the ...................................... military .........................site! ............................................................................................................................ The station went silent with nothing but static, I wish I could have picked up the whole message cause it could mean anything, Hell it could be nothing more then some asshole making shit up, who knows. After everything is loaded and ready to go we start to head out. As we are heading out of town we make a quick stop at the store to pick up a few cans of food, soda, pain killers and bandages. After that we start heading up north out of Elektrozavodsk past the dam and into Staroye cause the road through Mogilevka was blocked off. After driving for most of the day I am starting to think it might be a little dangerous for us to drive late at night seeing that both of us are tired as hell and need sleep bad. So we decide to stop at a little town just up the road called Guglovo for the night and head out just before sunrise. Day 4: After a good nights sleep and a fresh cup of coffee this morning we are ready to head out and finish our trip up to the North-West Airfield And with the radio broadcast still in the back of my mind I am starting to have second thoughts. Once we got into Novy Sobor we start to notice them more and more, A few of them tried to chase our truck but was not fast enough. As we start to come up on Stary Sobor we notice a downed Chopper and a few military units laying on the ground. We pulled over and decided to pull over and see if they need any help seeing that they might be passed out from the wreck. After we pull over we get out and start to head up to the wreck as slow as we can seeing that there are a shit ton of these dead fuckers around this area. Once we got to the wreck we split up to check everyone to make sure they are Okay. As I start to lean down and check this soldiers pulse that is when I hear the most awful sound I have ever heard. I get up and start running around to get to the other side of the chopper, And as I come around the tail end I see the most horrifying thing I have ever seen in my life. My ex laying there on the ground with two military guys eating at their stomach. I try to run but all I can do is stand there and frozen in place horrified by what I see. As I'm standing there I hear a grown coming from behind me so I turn around to see 4 more military guys coming at me, So I take off running back to the truck. I try to get in but these guys are fast as hell. So I reach in through the window and grab my backpack and take off into the forest. Finally loosing these things in the trees and getting my ass lost, I sit down to take a break before I head off again to see if I can found a town or something to tell me where I am. Day 5: I awake in shock to see that I passed out some how. So I take a minute to look over everything I have in the bag I managed to grab. 5 Bandages, compass, flash light, hatchet, 2 pain killers. It isn't much but I hope it is enough to get me to where I need to go. Use tents and vehicles if you plan on playing on that server a lot. They do not carry over to another server, but they do stay after a server reset. They offer an extra place to store items, and if you are killed, you can run over and take items stored from it. Effectively giving you an advantage. On the other hand they can be stolen by other survivors, and they are buggy, sometimes disappearing for no reason.

I think this more of a stuff for SA, but maybe this could be added to the mod as well. The last couple of days I've been playing there's been a lot of vehicles available, thanks to the lower player count. So I've spent my time repairing these vehicles and noticed one thing, wheels are rare, sometimes a bit too rare. So here's what I think should be done: Make wheels more common, but make jerrycans a lot harder to find. Wheels should still stay relatively rare, but since you need 4 of them to fix a car, they should be a bit more common than engine parts. Now it's easier to repair a car but harder to fuel it. Next, give us the possibility of refueling using canteens. In addition to making refueling take a longer time, putting fuel into canteen would change it into "Water bottle (ruined)", so it couldn't be used for water anymore. Of course, this would mean that filling a container with fuel would need to be done through right clicking in the gear window instead of the action menu to give us control over where we put the fuel. That change would also have the effect of making filling containers take longer time, which in my opinion is a good thing. As a added bonus, it would be great if jerrycans would degrade over time/use, but I think that's only possible in the SA, not the mod.

I have heard that Rocket has plans on improving vehicles by adding components such as car tarps to keep it hidden. What I'd also like to see is.. Car Alarms; If touched or trying to enter inside, alarm will go off which would alert survivors and zombies around you. Air Conditioner/Heater; Feeling a bit hot or cold? Turn on some vents and blast some air on you to keep you satisfied! Option to roll up/down windows; Rolling up your windows would improve aerodynamics, saves fuel and keeps the interior of the car a more quiet ride along with some small arms resistance. Keeping them down allows air flow to enter the occupants keeping them cool and able to see surroundings better. Manual/Automatic Transmissions; No explanation needed here, just adds more variety to cars instead of solely being automatics.

Had nothing to do with wanting your noob loot or vehicles and had all to do with how you obtained them. The tent that was in the huey, which you don't remember where you obtained got placed less than an hour later in your camp and no one had placed a tent that day. You use Navigator/Survival hack, for me it is quite clear. And thus I don't want you on the server to ruin it for everyone. Maybe if you got everything legit then you would still have a camp with all the vehicles and you could horde till your lil hearts content.
