So... I'm curious. Are people still able (and willing) to mess around with vehicles by using scripts? I was just curious, because in the last few days I had found three vehicles (which is three more than I have found in my entire play time) and of course I hid them in my special, personal hideout where I also stash my stuff. Needless to say, at least two days later the vehicles are gone... BUT: Everything in my tents is still there. Even the antibiotics and the AS50. So, either I can only assume that they took the GAZ without finding my tents (the bus and bike were both right beside the tents) or they have been hacked away. I do accept that people might find and steal my stuff, that's part of the game, but I do NOT accept that people just teleport my possessions away. Being a demigod in a zombie apocalypse kind of ruins the balance. edit: Alright. My antibiotics WERE gone... Maybe I need another hideout. Off the loot maps most people use. I mean, I deem it safe. It's off the main traffic areas and outside of the cloud of cities and towns, so I expected random traffic to be around zero. But then, who knows, cheating might have been involved or not. Age: N/A, over 15 How long have you played DayZ: Played it a few weeks around July when impact took like... 4 seconds to register when you shot a Zed (is this still that long or did it get more synchronized?), it's been a while though so I might be rusty.. Although I just did the basic controls & shooting range missions from ARMA II again just to get some rust off and to make sure I can jump into the game and not stare at my screen trying to figure out my controls and whatnot. Although I can probably still be considered a semi-bambi, I've been mainly busy with Online RP games and left shooters aside, I did play Black Ops II, Medal of Honor Warfighter and Battlefield 3 though... I also wasn't that bad at BF 3 Why do you Want to join SRT: To survive in DayZ, one needs people they can trust and depend upon and I feel like the only way to do that is to join a group of people who have the same idea as I do 'Survive' and potentially killing bandits when the need is there and when it allows us to save another like-minded player. I'm also following the 3 Golden Rules from Squirrel "1. Find Allies to play with.", "2. Don't get attached to your equipment.", "3. Trust no one.". What is your strength in DayZ (Marksman, Recon, Artillery, Pilot, Assault Rifle Oriented, Driver, Etc, Etc.): I've been playing at the time where there were near no vehicles so I'm rusty on that, I'm okay as a marksman, I can recon if need be (I like being stealthy), but aside from that I'm just what you'd call a normal soldier with an assault rifle to support his team and provide covering fire or just to clean up places. I have been a lone wolf for a good while ( my character on the official server is 115 days old, and has a GENUINE antique L85 AWS). I'm pretty geared up, but the search for NVG's and Rangefinders keeps me entertained. After going solo for a few weeks, I teamed up with a few friends on other maps/servers. They didn't really take it too seriously, and mostly spent their time fucking around. So now I'm back to lone wolf. Off topic slightly, but anyone else HATE the 700+ vehicles etc servers? I remember when finding a ride was a challenge, in the first 2 months of playing I seen a total of 1 chopper. Nowadays it seems like everybody has a vehicle of some description. Weapons all over the shop, the 'epic bases' servers..... Takes the fun and intensity right out of it for me. Sorry for the change of subject.

See that's kind of my point, I don't want that IN the game, neither do LOTS of people, and we could play the game as it is without any of those "perks" and not really care... I mean the decorating yourself or vehicles or cloths should be in... But I'll be dead pissed if I have to stop and oil my gun in the middle of a firefight. It will allow for the added layer of depth hardcore gamers want without it making it drastically advantageous for them and not forcing casual gamers to do all this extra stuff... I don't want to spend 30-40minutes in game shooting at tree stumps to improve my accuracy, or sharpening my tools, or oiling my guns... but I sure as hell would on a break from work on my cell, or whenever... For me at least this is the first even approaching "simulation" game and Arma 2 is an AMAZING simulator, but DayZ has turned into something else, and I don't think all the extra stuff like I've mentioned will benefit IN GAME game play it will drag it down with all sorts of chores which you already have enough of between keeping a supply of food drink, medical, ammo, and weapons... You have to realize there are TONS of people who have never even left the coast, NEVER been in a car. They're not going to want to do all this ULTRA REAL stuff... With the phone app as the outlet for hardcore gamer needs but not a requirement to play the game I think it adds a dimension of depth that otherwise would cloud the gameplay that most people are looking for.

I am reasonably happy with my server so far after 3 months, it runs on the vilayer hive so it's not full blown private but a good medium I think. I took over the 'trickery.net' name from another guy from our community who has got himself snowed under with work so we made a fresh start with me running it 3 months ago. The first month we had a few problems and vilayer recognized this and added a week to our rental, fair play to them. I log on this morning to see the server down, go into ACP to see 'server status: unknown' so I raised a ticket to see what is going on. ok fair enough but an email warning of this happening would have been nice. Do other providers do this alot? what alternatives are there for a similar service? (UK) I'm not sure we want to go full on private, I am quite happy being on the vilayer public hive. during the 3 months we do seem to have had a bit of downtime and hive related problems (tents/vehicles/spawning on the coast) but much of that seemed to be resolved (apart from the server doesn't spawn anywhere near as many vehicles as we would like, even after running out of bounds clear up and create vehicle scripts in admin control panel) I'm not totally unhappy with vilayer but on the flipside I am trying to build up a player base and just as we get a new group of players something like this happens (last time it was moving onto a new hive followed by stuff not saving) Just want to hear a bit of feedback from other players who made the move to another provider, or have a similar service from another provider :)

You have been quite unlucky. You can easily find better weapons on Taviana, depends on which Barracks you raided as there are 3 levels of barracks that have different values of loot, but even the lowest value ones churn out decent weapons. The server has a limit of 400 vehicles and is restarted at least once every 24 hours.

Most of today script kids are using bypassers that doesn't leave absolutely NO TRACES in the log file (so you don't have fancy addmyshitcargo and such), and these are the most disruptive ones. The only way to catch these kids is by using a heuristic method: as the name suggest, they aren't identified by the traces of executing/using a script/cheat, but by the consequence of using that such cheat. In other words if you're statistic says that the best player of this universi is capable of having a KPM of 0.2 on that specific map, having a KPM of 2.0 on a 60 min. time frame is a good indication of having a cheater aboard. Another example: your statistic says that a user is capable of finding a tent/vehicles every 23 minutes, if someone is jumping from a tent to tent in less than 5 minutes or if he runs to a hi-grade vehicle (ie: chopper) right after the spawn, you are having a cheater aboard (ie: a ESP user). These two above are just two examples of how you can translate a logical reasoning into numbers (into a heuristic algorythm), making it "automatically" (no human intervention, if not to supervise the routine). This way you can catch most "hidden" cheaters and script kids without even a single "technical" evidence of them cheating. The downside is that your script may ban an innocent player by mistake, so you must do a review time to time ... but sometime you still ban not guilty players. This is the best way (IMO) to handle your server, but unfortunately you cannot share your banlist with other admins, because you have absolutely no evidence of cheating, so you can't pretend that others will believe your words just because you claim to have applied a logical algorythm to your banning process. And this is what i'm doing on my server. The balist sharing still works for the old-school cheaters.. but again they are a minimal part and ban them is pretty easy, the hord of script kids with bypassers are the real problem.

I like Krasnostav. It's the northernmost town with a supermarket. It's surrounded by forest and 3 big mountains, so it's easy to hide and also watch for activity before you go shopping. The NE airfield is the safest of the 3 and on some private servers, there is an extra barrack there. Most new players and fresh spawns never make it this far up north. It's also a good base when you want to hunt for camps or vehicles hidden in the northern forests and moutains. And close to the spawn point of the black SUV and 2 UAZ. Zelenogorsk is a close second. It's near the shore, but north of Kamenka where nobody likes to spawn, so you rarely meet people there. There are a lot of deer stand on the way to Zelenogorsk and around it. It's close to the western forest which is a safe way to travel all the way to the NWA.

i don't see the point of money too, you can have everything ingame with your efforts and enjoy the game at his full power only in a couple of hours. and if you don't have time because you work there are many barter services in the forum..you could need only a better weapon or nvgs..and there are hives with more vehicles than players

Ok so lots of changes to server over the last couple of days so will now list. Auto fuel: Recently added auto fuel, but its been tweaked so that if your in a Helli it wont empty your fuel until you turn of your engine. you have around 9 seconds to do this or the auto fuel wont fill vehicle up. ... Also added a marker on ground to show you its the auto fuel point. Auto Fuel Locations 1. Centre of med base 2. Fuel station west of Cherno 058 , 131 3. Fuel station west of Elektro 095 , 133 How it works: 1. Drive on to the marker 2. Will tell you in vehicle chat that auto fuel has started and that you have 9 seconds to switch off your engine (If engine is not switched off you vehicle will not be fuelled) 3. Once engine is off wait until it tells you that it is fuelling. 4. You vehicle will now start to be Fuelled (if you turn on your engine at any point the auto fuel will stop but leave you with the fuel it has already put in vehicle) 5. Once fuelled a message will appear in vehicle chat to tell you that the car is refuelled. 6. You may now switch on your engine and drive off Note: You do not have to sit in your vehicle for auto fuel to work. You may get out of the vehicle and auto fuel will still continue. vehicle ammo reload: this also has been tweaked in the same way as the auto fuel. you will have 9 seconds to switch of engine or your vehicle will not reload. how it works: 1. Drive on to the vehicle reload point ( the Hello landing pad at the Klen base) 2. Will tell you in vehicle chat that you have 9 seconds to switch off your engine (If engine is not switched off you vehicle will not be reloaded) 3. Once engine is off wait until it tells you that it is reloading. 4. Your ammo will now start reloading (if you turn on your engine at any point the reloading will stop) 5. Wait patiently until a message in vehicle chat appears telling you that the vehicle is reloaded. 6. You may now drive off Note: After reloading your fuel will drop to 25% this is compensation for the ammo Other changes: Radars have been blocked in new vehicles with Radars Three new vehicles have been added to the map. Chinook, osprey and Stryker (Stryker has no guns) The Russian Helli's can now only lift motorcycles and cars. The Chinook can lift all ground vehicles. Med vehicle changes: Ambulance has been replaced with the Vodnik (Ambulance) The med Helli has been replaced with the UH-60M MEV. The med Helli can now lift players. Please remember the rules regarding the med vehicles. only to be used for medi assist by a designated midic (red beret). no transporting players and no looting whilst using a med vehicle. also once your done with medi assist vehicle should be returned to med base. Just did a vehicle cleanup. All exploded vehicles have been deleted and spawned around 20. Total vehicle count: 100

Banned from this server after normal play with a friend: AU DAYZ(v1.7.4.4/build 99113)[Max Vehicles + basic kit + gun][AUSNZ PLAYERS ONLY] I can't contact the admin of the server about it. It isn't a global ban, it's exclusive to this server. My in game name at the time was "_strobe", no quotations, and my friend was playing (with a separate key of course) under my name Parlez. The only message I had was "You were banned." after reconnecting to correct disconnect/lag issues that I've been having while I play this game, which delays commands like lighting fires, drinking and eating by more than a minute at times. If I was somehow banned for a legitimate reason I'd at least like to know what that is. If anyone can help me out that would be great. Parlez

If you need help setting up/editing/spawning vehicles on your server I can help you. I am however only one person so i may not be able to help immediately. I was once lost like some of you and it took me some time to figure it out. I have helped several people on these forums and I of course do not ask for anything in return. Just shoot me a msg on here for anything server related. I would be more then happy to help you as well as teach you how to do it yourself.

Just got BE restrictions #1 create vehicle ban. First off, I don't hack. Second, I had to leave earlier today because people were hoarding vehicles, killing players, and the voice chatter made it hard to play. I left decided to try again later and now I am getting this BE restriction error. The server was no pvp, recruit server. I had a decent character started on it.
