    Please disactivate zombies hitting in cars

    You're lucky vehicles are even able to withstand zombie/player impacts. In real life, if you actually hit a body whilst driving, whether it be a zombie or a human, it would absolutely total the front end of the car.
  4. I want to continue following and testing vanilla as it develops, because that is the point of an alpha/beta. However, recent experiences aren't helping. After rteutrning from a two week visit to a vanilla private hive, which had vehicles actually spawning again and variety of loot, going back to a public server has been quite a disppointment. Run With Flares Simulator still seems to be the end result. That being said, whatever version of DayZ, I won't set foot on any server that has 500 vehicles, 20 helicopters, military weapons everywhere or extra starting kit. What's the fecking point? The whole idea of DayZ is the challenge of scavenging to survive, not some toy littered zombie theme park!

    See, that's what I'm talking about. Sitting on the coast and pwning bambies running into fire stations with nothing more than an enfield is hardly a challenge. Taking down a huey hovering above NWAF is something entirely more exhilarating and I used to pull such stunts from time to time in the past. Now I guess all valuable vehicles are being hoarded far east/north and guarded 24/7. This game has been reduced to yet another FPS, where you grab first weapon you can put your hands on and bolt to the nearest city for a deathmatch...
  6. Update This week we will be unbanning select vehicles and weapons on the server. We will not be adding any weapons that would make the game unbalanced. We are simply creating more of a selection for our community. I agree Ill have to look at Rmod more closely, I thought i was more for vehicles, I don't think we will have standalone till Late Summer, Early Fall. and I really don't care, DayZMod is still good and with all the community mods it never gets old. I really want rocket to take his time. Every time the Nerd community bitches about something taking to long, we allways get it early and its a piece of shit. We don't want another Vista experience.

Basically, to join (Seems as if only DayZ Commander users can join atm) you filter "Cherno Beach Patrol" as a server name.   13. My server is going over to DayZ Origins and I have a few questions neither Google nor Bing could answer. 1. Can you actually make vehicles or is that false and what they mean by survivor vehicles is that they were made by the people before you bla bla back story? 2. Can you customize your vehicle? 3. Is there base building, if so what can you do? 4. I read that there were more skins and that also included female skins, however i'm unable to find proof, so can any one confirm female skins? 5. How buggy/laggy is Origins now, I heard its very buggy/laggy but it was supposedly fixed? 6. How would you rate the map? Thanks in advance for any info!
  14. Hi I am looking for a friendly preferably Chernarus non-pvp server with a password required. A lot of you are thinking I'm terrible at this and being a big baby but that's okay because i am. Must have decent amount of vehicles, no stealing, friendly active admins, large active community, a nice starting kit (survival needs like a hatchet matches hunting knife etc) and good amount of weaponry or loot.   16. In terms of variety, I would love more vehicles. I hate going over 125 vehicles, 150 is the max I'll play with. But if they actually expand the map it would make sense to add more vehicles.

    Of course, i can. I can join everyday at about 8 o'clock pm to about 11 o'clock pm GMT+1. Is it okay for you? Any chance to get another rangefinder? What do you want for it? Sorry, trade aborted. Some really f****ing shit happened last night, my friend and me respawned without any reason, no equip, our camp has been raided, choppers and vehicles destroyed. I really think of admin abuse but don't know. Have to do some research, sorry.

    New Combat Roll Animation

    If any one wants to send in a new animation for jumping id love to take it but as it stands we are limited to what we can use. The combat roll as it is isn't perfect but nothing ever is first time. I love how the comments are just full of hate not once did anyone say you know its not perfect but how about make the player chose between backpack or movability. Could this be something we are thinking would this tie into vehicles having more slots for backpacks but less individual slots for items.     Country in the North

    I normally don't like to double post but this idea seams to merit its own rather than just something added on as an Edit. Possibly add a Chernobyl type environment up there. An abandoned city and some outlying villages military bases (Abandoned before the outbreak so very little if any zombie spawns) but the area is contaminated with either some toxin or radiation Say a weapons factory that was producing chemical weapons or something, lotta guns and ammo with little to no Zombie risk, but you'd need a hazmat suit of some kind to explore it without dieing horribly, and you'd need to decontaminate any weapons/ammo you find as well as whatever you bring with you. Would probably be a PVP fest but for thouse daring to venture to the Factory and survive they payout would be worth it. Surrounding towns would have little to no supplies, and they would be contaminated (food, water, and drinks would be contaminated/inedible/undrinkable) and even the protective suits would degrade so while you 'could' set up camp in the area it wouldn't be a good idea. It would be an area to get in, grab what you need/want and get out, and even then you'd have consequences (having to decontaminate all your gear/clothes/vehicles that you took with you after you get out of the area or risk getting the toxin in your bloodstream and getting sick)
  20. I think there should be like a Safe Town where there is no way to kill anybody and then have a garage where you can store two vehicles only for each player. And last have a vault to store equipment, this will help to build player relationships and have a place to go.

    Looking For Friendly Server

    I have a Private Hive server that I am trying to get a player community built on ... but I do not offer custom loadouts, changed starting equipment, or extra vehicles. It runs Vanilla DayZ as Rocket intended.
  22. I have tried the others ... and although 2017 and DayZ+ have some awesome features that I think make them very good mods ... I find that DayZ Vanilla suits my playing style. I normally have a camp away from civilisation and other survivors, this is the smart choice to me as I am unsure how other survivors will react on any given day and I prefer to keep my own company. I will then do scavenges into the populated areas ... sometimes running up to 14 kms there and back in order to make the run ... to stock up on whatever I am running short of. During these runs I will normally just take a map and a hatchet and maybe some food and drink to get me to the scavenge target. I will normally go hunting for food ... using my trusted CZ550 and stock up on meat products ... because as a loner if I get in to trouble, blood bags are useless. There are some occasions where I will bump in to a survivor and we team up for a little while, helping each other out. Sometimes I will help survivors out who need supplies or medical treatment ... but I never give them weapons. If they find while we are working together, then that is fine. :) Now and again I will go looking for vehicles to repair, but only if I recently destroyed my vehicle or it was lost. Most of the time I will ensure my current vehicle is kept green across the board ... with enough spares in it to repair the critical issues if the need arises. I pretty much play alone and do my best to survive and keep my supplies stocked. I am not a fan of going to airfields for the latest gear (hell I don't even own a pair of NVGs) and I will normally only raid a crash site if I accidentally come across it and then most of the time I will only take ammo that I can use. I have spare weapons at my camp ... but only ones that use common ammo and that I currently play with. So yeah ... DayZ Vanilla suits my style of play, where the other two would kind of change the way I have to approach things and ultimately I am playing DayZ for the entertainment value. I don't like PvP and will always try to avoid any situations like that ... not because I don't know how to shoot or play ... but because I choose not to shoot other players.
  23. Getting a car is already quite easy. This game needs to be harder... It's easy to get an AS50 and vehicles in a week.

(WARNING: This is a big wall of text sorry for that, this is my experience and thoughts how I would love to say Dayz in the future, if you don't agree with this that is your opinion, please try to keep this clean from trolling <- this will not happen :) ) Hello All, I never bothered to make an account for the forums, but I finally did. When I heard so much good news about DayZ I bought ArmaII CO just for Dayz. First experience: I entered a server. I loved the scary feeling I got at dark together with the zombies. I didn't know where to do what, but that is what every bambi experienced. I never played ArmaII before so this whole game was new to me. I remember how I got my first rifle, start firing at zombies, boy I regret that zombies coming from eveywhere I died few minutes later. After playing a couple of weeks: I know which buildings you can enter and which building you cannot, I know the biggest fear for a survivor are not the zombies but the other players. I know where to find all the items, like hatchet, gps, nvg, good weapons, matches etc. The things need to survive you could say :). The shoot on sight of other players I kinda understand as well, the people are to lazy to go look for their own loot, and they love the kill counts I guess. End game: DayZ is a not finished game, I am currently not playing Dayz and waiting for the SA. The end game of Dayz as it is now, is PVP, that is it. Killing other players / teams, steal their loot, vehicles, raid camps, and build your own camps. - I once mentioned to friends of mine. I was kinda getting boring in Dayz. You go look for loot to survive, get a good weapon (maybe kill a bandit to steal a nice AS50 or whatever), then go raid camps or attack bandits that are trolling the new players. That is it. I said to my friend, I was looking into Dayz Servers where donators get a custom load out of choice (depending what amount you pay of course). They asked why this kill the whole Dayz thought. I kinda agree but I kinda got bored of looking for 2 hours for good loot, then go in PVP mode with other players. Then after some nice battles I end up dead, and have to start over look for the items I prefer to have again. It's like getting resetted all the time, which kinda annoyied me, I know how to look for items, where to look. Then there is PVP in the end that is it. So my friends (Those I met in Dayz) said did you try out the normal ArmaII, I think you should look into that. Wasteland mod sounds perfect for you. So as they suggested I did. Now I am playing Wasteland Mod for Arma2 for little bit more then 1 month, and I sadly never looked back to Dayz. I keep checking Dayz blog about updated of the SA but that is about it. The zombies are boring (easy to go around then, even with 1.7.5.1), end of the game is PVP based only. Community ingame is very hard, First rule trust no one. Which I still gotta get used to in the Wasteland mod. Yesterday in wasteland I loaded up my humvee with a lot of weapons to sell, so I could get myself a rangefinder, sniper, rocketlauncher from the weapon store. There were teammates camping the gunstore (to kill enemies that came close), I asked my teammates if they could leave for 3min so I could unload my humvee with the weapons, and sell them. They left standing 100m away from me, while I was unloading my humvee selling the weapons. Someone in side chat (team chat) said: tripmo you could just drive to the gunstore unload your humvee, teammates will not steal your humvee with the weapons and then sell them. Or kill you steal your stuff and sell your items. I said sorry this must be something I got from Dayz. Then he laughed yeah must be. Why I wrote the part about this wasteland mod, is to show you an example. What I kinda find disappointing in Dayz is, the first rule is: Trust no one. I can understand people wanna be the baddies in game (bandits), dont hesitate to kill you to get your stuff, and then you gotta start over. In wasteland or ArmaII overall, people that are in your team help you out. Work as a team. Dayz if you have no friends ingame or friends playing this game, this game will get bored very fast. Making friends ingame in Dayz is kinda hard as well sometimes. What Dean Hall should implent is something what Wasterland mod has. In Wasteland mod you have 3 teams, Blufor, Opfor, Indepentent (Indepentent are like Bandits here in Dayz) If you are in Blufor or Opfor you are not allowed to kill any teammates, it is against the rules, Indepentents is free for all, so no rules you can team up with your friends make a group (groups can also be made in Blufor and Opfor but still the rules go you are not allowed to kill teammates, indepentent that rule doesn't exist). If you teamkill twice you will be moved to Indepentent for the rest of the time you play on the server, until the server resets) You can recognize your teammates because they have a square above their player (Blufor has a blue square, Opfor has a red square, Indepentent has nothing). So when you are in Blufor those with a blue square are your teammates, the players with no squares are enemies (opfor and indepentent), visa versa I think Dayz should use some sort of system like this, but now you have the survivor team, and bandits team. This means Survivor team will have markers above their head and you are not allowed to teamkill, if someone teamkills twice they will be moved to the bandit team, and you will remain bandit the rest of the time on that server. Because Dayz servers keep records of your stats loadout, actions this means the player that teamkilled can never go survivor anymore on that certain server. Hard rule I know, but hey if you kill someone in real life you gotta life with the cons as well (jail time, maybe even death sentence). I think this rule above would please a lot of players, bandits still can have their baddie additude, group with friends and kill everyone that comes in their way, loot survivors etc, and the honest people (survivors can see who are trustful, helpful and maybe become friends ingame). The humanity function ingame is flawed, yes if you heal many people you become a hero (hero skin), but I met so many hero skin players, that shoot on sight which is sad. I hope Dayz SA will become awesome, and I hope the community will change with it, I don't like the trust no one rule in Dayz, seems like people in ArmaII (+ additional mods) are much nicer then the overall players in Dayz.
  25. More vehicles, more guns, more, more food. More more more. Game seems all about instant gratification than actual exploration and trying to hunt down a working car. I love the fact there are so few, makes finding one that much sweeter and much harder once you lose it. This new influx of players I have experienced since I have come back to the game just want everything handed to them and not have to work for them. If you find a broken car and then decide to fix it that is a new goal to achieve and strive for in game. The way this game has just turned from hard survival to a casual stroll in the forest with automatic weapons is very sad to see.
