Nobody plays vanilla because it's too hard. Why fuck around with darkness when you can get a 24/7 daylight? Why creep past zombies when you can start with a pistol? Why search endlessly for vehicles when you can have them spawn, fully repaired, in every single town? Welcome to the watered-down slurry that is new DayZ, where private servers and private loadouts are king, and the A.D.D. as fuck wannabe DayZ players rule. Can't learn to find a pistol in loot because they're brought up on this shit like CoD where your lifetime is measured in seconds and the best weapons are handed to you the moment you start playing. So they take the easy route. And goddamn, the standalone is gonna be such a culture shock. It's going to be hilarious.

You cannot drive up to something and loot it. You have to drive up to the town, 200m away or so, and run up on the loot spawn to get the loot. You know this already, most likely anyway. I would like to think that if the game is going to work against us correctly(i.e zombies spawning while we are in vehicles) then I would like to think that it will work for us correctly(i.e loot spawning while we are in vehicles)

Your issues seem to be something else your vehicles look fine. Last_updated is very old and none of them have any inventory but they all seem to be in default locations with default dmg.

I had a vanilla public server once. Was looking for a server with GMT-6, nameplates off, crosshairs off and deathmessages off, imposible to find a single one like this, so I made my own. Seems like there was more people with my problem because since the first week it was full (40/40) almost everyday on prime time, I would have keep it if it wasn't for the vast amount of hackers I was banning everyday and I had no time for this as it almost required 24/7 monitoring. But I been thinking lately to host an almost vanilla private hive when I have spare time again. Been considering of taking away starting backpacks, I would not add extra vehicles besides a SUV (just one, because I love this car) and the ability to tow vehicles and lift them with the MI-17 (loved this in ACE mod). That would be all.

Ok so it looks like the vehicles are not resetting after they have been destroyed your id should be fixed on your next restart.

No that is a hive issue. The hive isn't auto most of the system has to be done by hand and to change is a pretty big job for the amount of servers on the hive. If you send your instance id i can add vehicles that should keep re spawning the question is for how long.

Please read this topic: http://dayzmod.com/f...not-respawning/ The vehicles are not respawning on some servers. Edit: All the crashed vehicles are "spawning" (RPT/Hivelog compare) but they don't appear at all, they keep the state "Crashed/waiting for respawn" and stay on the coords they was previously crashed, and don't come back.

Yes because we want more realism in our game about zombies... huh? LOL! Just messing with you man. With all the vehicles in the game it's disappointing to see the only motorcycle is a Kawasaki (which I would never be caught dead on IRL. My father would rise from the grave to beat my a$$). Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Vincent, Indian, BMW. That is what I wanna ride when I'm killing zombies. -
DayZ is just that, Vanilla DayZ... These run on a public hive (altough there are private hives for it too) so if you are playing on an official server you are always gonna start with the same stuff, and all the loot tables will be the same for each server. Upside is you can switch servers and keep your gear. DayZ+: This is a slightly different version of DayZ, I quite like it. It is set in the same place but every server will be on a private hive (i.e. you cant switch server and keep your stuff) DayZ Origins: Technically nothing to do with DayZ. This is apparently a mod of it's own heavily based on DayZ. This mod uses the Taviana map (personally my favourite map) which is over 600km^2 (over 600 square kilometers, compaired to the 225km^2 of Chernarus). The map has lots of custom vehicles that look like the have been made by survivors, including a helicopter tha has been put together from parts of other vehicles and scrap. Some of these vehicles are "upgradable" I believe, but I've never done it myself Most of the other DayZ mods on commander offer different play styles, Namalsk is small, has lots of high value military and has a customer "monster" and Psy emissions, heavily based on the serise of games S.T.A.L.K.E.R if I am correct. I havn't played all of the mods so I won't comment on them all. A note on private/public hives: A private hive is basically an unofficial hive that anyone can download and install on their server, but if you log on to one of these servers you start a new character that is only availabe on that server. There are private hives that allow you to move between servers and keep your gear but they are all hosted by the same company. I was playing on a few Namalsk servers that were all on a "hostnamehere.com" hive but if you stop playing on a server hosted by "hostnamehere.com" then you would need to start a new character. Public hive: As far as I'm aware these are only availabe on the main DayZ official servers. For more info on some of the maps available you can check you www.dayzdb.com although I would recommend using some form of add blocker while on this site or close it down when you are in game because they now have annoying video adverts that will start playing audio while you are in game... many a time I have shat myself haha.

so i have been playing dayz for about a week or 2 now, jumping from server to server trying to settle in, but not finding anything ideal so was wondering: could anybody recommend a really good server, or at least 1 that fits my preferences (that being no sniper spawns, but still getting to spawn with a pistol and maybe some tools. has a decent amount of vehicles that dont require alot of time to get working and pvp welcome but not required) also would like to try something with new features, been hearing alot about AI and more vehicles/buildings/guns etc aswell as other new features i know nothing about Also, anybody got a recommended controller configuration? I have mine set up pretty well but i still have to use keyboard and mouse for some things like arranging my inventory and so on Thanks in advance, and im sorry if this is in the wrong place?

ARMA's controls are a bit convoluted, but they're quite logical when you think about it... G - gear M - map B - binoculars Etc... You'll get the hang of it though, it's just the inventory that's a pain when you're new. You could try Balota Buddies if you're looking for a hack-free server that doesn't have 9,001 vehicles, starter gear, 24/7 daylight and all the other super-noob friendly stuff that's become commonplace. Check their forums for info on how to get access. Check the private-hives sub-forum on here if you wanna take a look at others too though.

BUMP Added new locations. Updated BattlEye, BeC. Added new vehicles locations. Added new vehicle spawns (AN2, UH6X, offroad). A bridge between Chernarus and Skalisty Island was built. Updated Each-evening helis spawn points and loot (+2 full Jerry Cans). Updated each-restart Ural loot (Prigorodki). It can spawn now MP5s, bizons, LeeEnfields, M16s, M4s and much more... Fixed some database errors. Fixed anti-relog script. -

Dear Survivors, Heros, and Bandits, The 116 has hosted DayZ servers for the last 3 months and now feel as a group we have enough experience to host a proper whitelist server catering to high populations. If the following information interests you please apply here: Whitelist Application (You will notice a banner to our new server on that page which is not opened as of yet, just being tested, hence the low population). The new server will be opening within the next few days and all of those who sign up will be informed a few hours prior to launch to ensure that all players get as fair of a running start as possible. General Server Settings Name: - 116th - Whitelist your GUID @ 116thpanzer.com/dayz IP: 185.2.138.60:3323 Loc=London, Diff=Veteran, Map=Taviana 2.0, Slots=50, TZ= UTC -9, 3DP=on, CH=on, NP=off, DM=on, SC=on, PW=no, WL=yes Vehicle Change Overview from standard Tavi 2.0 map. 261 vehicles available for spawn on the server. A fraction of those will spawn with each restart until the limit is reached. We will monitor this amount and reduce it if it is deemed too many vehicles. -Each specific vehicles maximum spawn was set manually. There are over 50 different vehicles on this map. - Motorcycles and ATV's are more common. - Addition of little bird, Mi-17 , and AN-2 - Less Skodas and standard sedans yet, more Volhas and Ladas. - 2 different types of pickup trucks with 5 variations. - New civilian ural in tan , limited MTVR (Western Eqv.). - Military vehicles more prevalent including more than 1 Vodnik. - Boats more common. - More small vehicle spawns near player spawn. Greater ability for players to explore more of the map via boat and aircraft. Rules and information regarding the 116 aka Windhund server. 1. No trash talking or foul language on the server. 2. The game mechanics rule. No one is ever kicked for being a superb player whether they choose to be a hero, bandit, or survivor. 3. No hacking is tolerated by anyone including and especially Windhund members. Hackers are banned and reported including public posting of their GUID. 4. Windhund members have a trust but verify attitude towards public players on the server. Many pubs have joined the 116, many others enjoy hunting 116 members - In either case you are most welcome. 5. Bambi killers. Windhund makes it a point of hunting bambi killers and bandits. We expect talented bandits to give us a hard challenge. That is half the fun of the game. 6. Welcome and enjoy your time on the server. Other Information -The plan is to run this map for 90 days with a review at 60 days. -We will be adding content and server wide activities after a two week review. Example: News story released on our website "Major ambushed by bandits in the vicinity of XXXXX, reportedly left abondoned humvee with with his favorite weapon - a DMR". -The 116 regularly conducts missions on the server. Sweeping areas of the Islands, rescuing survivors, setting up check points and other paramilitary activities, conducting long range recon patrols, and setting up listening posts. We conduct such operations as our mission on the island is to clear it of zeds, save survivors, and neutralize bandits. Of course, its a mission we cannot win...for many of us DayZ is our online Call of Cthulu. PUGS are welcome to join, interfere with, or ignore our missions and thats the other half of the fun. -

Well I just thought I'd sign up and say Hello and give Mac my best wishes. This unfortunate business above really does not cast the server in good light. It's been incredible fun playing on this server and we have had our fair share of massive fire fights and which seem to last for hours. One named 'Ham Burger Hill' after I flew a Little Bird into what I believe was NWA's Huey. Our little group 'The Roman Empire' (not our words) was formed from helping each other out it's usually 5 people strong not that big - admittedly I was skeptical at first and thought the Irishman had stolen our stuff ;). It just goes to show how this game induces paranoia. Server rule enforcement seems poor at the moment. You have certain individuals always aborting too quickly after death to deny loot and others combat logging this is within the flashing combat timer but of course 'their game crashed blah blah' which is rarely addressed in a satisfactory way. You're usually told to email Mac (who you know is way too busy with his own problems) but you're already speaking with an admin... The real problem comes from trust. An admin is part of a bandit group with the lowest humanity and highest survivor kills on the server. It could be completely unintentional but surely the admin has looked at logs etc. Is he supposed to forget where these camps/vehicles/people are? It's surely a conflict of interest. I would also say this group has been only one I've encountered use profanity through direct chat in game. I believe this was from only one member. The set of circumstances that lead to these posts were very strange. 2 people were set on fire (which we have never seen) then the player seems to magically appear behind you after you've killed him. I thought it was a different player as you were telling me not to shoot you because you were an unarmed (in a bandit skin). I couldn't believe I had just killed you again. Anyone is going to be suspicious of what happened and you just got very defensive and oddly had preped the admin before we got to speak with him. None of us are sore from loosing gear we have enough for the group 2-3 times over, I didn't die so I'm not sore from that either. We just wanted answers and look what has started because of it. -

Vehicles not respawning

No respawn for our server, I will redo the trick tomorrow. Razor please help us ! Edit: FYI The spawned vehicles appear in the RPT log at start. All the vehicles appear in the hive log at start. -
Some vehicles will not repair, nothing happens but the part is wasted. Huey is back got the fuel leak when a window is broken. Get booted down to the bottom left corner of the map sometimes on login.

Some of my freinds and myself have created a server and are looking for some players to play on it other than ourselves. I am not an admin of the server but two of my are and I can vouch for them when they say they WILL NOT make themselves god like or spawn items in for themselves. We all enjoy finding these things for ourselves. The only time they would spawn things in are if a hacker has killed you. Then they might spawn things in for you for compensation if you died but this is no garuntee that they will. We currently have the time in server set to eastern standard time. All the vehicles have been reset to their spawns and have their standard loot. If you need to speak with us talk to us over the forum until we figure out a more stable way of communication. Anyway if you are looking for a laid back server with active admin ( I say active as we play almost everyday and even monitor the server when away from the computer) please stop by the unoffcial server called DayZ Chernarnarus US 121 [1.7.6.1.][beta 102936] {Veteran I 3P:ON I GMT -4 I Active Admins}

To achieve end game items and have vehicles in vanilla dayz we are either talking extreme luck or days if not weeks of gaming. When people pay for their own server they want it to be busy, so they start catering towards the common denominators. At the moment those are extra items and vehicles. Can you blame them? Who wants to pay 40-50$ for an empty server? The casual gamers do not have time to play for a week to find a working motorcycle, so they play on a server which guarantees them at least one vehicle per sitting. We can sit here all day and talk about this, but the truth is that these people seldom post and do not represent the community albeit having a vast number advantage over us. SA must not allow private hives such liberty in settings, let that stay in the mod. Let it be a dayz mod thing.

I'd jsut logged in, I was droped there earlier in the day after a shoot out and was in bad health. I logged into try and sort my stuff out for the night and get my self fixed etc. I spawned in, seen you running about and then got mobbed by zeds lol My side arm was empty so I started using the AS50 (I only use it for vehicles normally as I hate it), firing at you and the swarm around me to try and buy me time to get some cover and get me to the motorbike that was stored near by. Back fired though and you got off a good shot on me. Not to worry though. The map is cracking by the way but we're having some problems with it this week and have a support ticket raised with our hosts. Its' not spawning gear at crash sites and the time settings are messed up. We're hoping to have this fixed within the next few days but if not we'll be doing a server reset and may even switch maps depending on our community feedback. Details at our forum. Also the planned events (there's also ad-hoc stuff that kicks off through the week at any time) will be held almost every week , although there's no event next Sunday while we are having server problems. Loads of events such as secure and defend, planned battles, air battles, convoy attacks, road blocks, ambushes, man hunts etc.. -

Join the Server (you'll be automatically kicked — we need this to find out your GUID); 3. Send e-mail to [email protected] (or create topic in special section) containing this information: • Your game nickname; • Your age; • Approximate time you've joined the Server (don't forget to mention Time Zone); • How long you've been playing DayZ; • If you played on other whitelist servers, mention them (and a nickname you were using). You will be added to the whitelist in 10 hours (or probably even faster).
