    New Dayz Origins server

I played on the server yesterday and had fun. The only thing I would ask of you is to please restart the server a bit more often. I love a good private hive server that restarts every 4-6 hours. Mostly to get rid of all the junk and re spawn the burned up vehicles.

    Lingor...Get some!

Dayz Lingor Veteran 24/7 Daylight, Increased Crash Site spawns with Increased Loot, Lots of vehicles, PvP and PvE (missions coming asap) Server IP 192.31.185.211:3391 Do you want some great PvP action or are you a "chicken shit fucking pussy asshole" as Steven Segal would say. With good starting gear and increased crash site spawns with increased loot you will be peeing in butts in no time. This server is both PvP and PvE. Missions will be added asap to give more options on the server but we would like to emphasize PvP more than anything. If you aren't hardcore enough for PvP in Dayz though I can recommend you other games such as Sesame Street and Dora the Explorer. Put your skills to the test here and see what you are made of. We have a nice amount of vehicles and a decent amount of choppers "Get to da Choppa!" Let's see just how Commando you are in your attempt to become Ultimate Badass. Will you be the next Bob Lee Swagger? Or will you just be another skidmark in an old man's underpants.
  3. Server will be locked tomorrow for about 1 hour to work on fixing script restrictions for more vehicles, as well as for fixing script restrictions caused by R3F Logistics.

Stay faithful to survival, slay, scavange.

Trust me, Rocket isn't going to pander the ones who want loads of vehicles and easymode all around.
  5. DISCLAIMER: This post is HUGE. If you "tldr-ed" it then dont comment on it. Just a list i came up with of stuff that i think could make the standalone better. Its pretty much just a bunch of ideas and mechanics. Lets jump right into it. Random Encounters This is just stuff that has a random chance to occur to the player(s) at any time and place, just as you randomly find crashed helis or cars. - NPC jets flying at high altitude. They wont fire on you, they are there purely for amibance and immersion. These aircraft are a reminder that there is still someone out there and that humans are still alive somewhere, untouched by the virus. - Abandoned camps/roadblocks These are places where refugees tried to setup camps or defenses but were eventually overrun. The camps have the same chance to spawn as crashed helis and cars. They will spawn completely empty of anyone except dead bodies and maybe zombies. You will be able to find basic supplies and a plethora of meds. The camps will consist of ruined tents, dead bodies, and maybe one operable car. They will vary in size and location and can spawn either in the middle of roads or just in the middle of nowhere (forests, plains, islands, etc.). -The Zombie Hoard These will be random groups of zombies that have a chance to spawn far away from survivors and will wander around the countryside looking for survivors to munch on. They should consist of groups of fifty and they ill be by far the scariest thing in the game. They will also have a chance to spawn near player built settlements (once those are in the game) and if they are killed off or they see a player, they will spawn more frequently. These zombies assure that the players are never safe at any given time. - Prepper maps You find maps all the time, but every map will have a 2% chance to spawn with markers already on it. These will be the maps that were left behind by people who prepped for a socio-economic disaster that would destroy society. The markers will lead to stashes where you can either find empty tin cans or a treasure trove of supplies/guns/ammo. Vehicle customization/crafting A crafting system that will allow you to modify vehicles and craft items. -Vehicles ( remember the bus from the dawn of the dead remake?) You will be able to add things such as plating on windows so no one can see into the car and so zombies cant pull you out. You cant cut a hole in the roof of the car where a survivor can stand up and shoot out of. You can fortify your bumper so you can ram things without damaging the engine block, maybe add spikes so you can ram other cars, thus impaling your car into them so they cant move. Perhaps you can also add 360 degree floodlights, you will be a beacon to survivors and zombies, but your situational awareness at night will improve drastically. Basically, cars should not only be tools for transportation but also defence. Your vehicle should be unique to you and losing it should make you ragequit and never want to play DayZ again. - Simple crafting I find a knife. I also have an Enfield and a bit of rope. Now my Enfield has a bayonet. I find a flashlight. My M4 has an RIS system. Now my M4 has a flashlight. I have a knife and find a metal pole. Now i have a spear. Just VERY simple stuff like this that will add to the gameplay. Improved Zombies and mechanics -Difficulty Zombies must become more of a threat. Survivors will have to team up or die, and should always be in a constant state of fighting for survival. Zombies should be able to break windows and pull you out of cars if the windows arent boarded up. Their bites should have some sort of lasting effect even hours after you recieved them. You should have to avoid any contact with zombies at all costs. Zombie bites should be locational. They wont just damage your player overall, but they can fracture an arm, break a rib, cause a concussion, all of which will have a different effect on the player. -Survivors that died from zombies will come back as them. Imagine your friend gets bitten, you dont have bandages. You load him into your UAZ and try to get the hell out of cherno. Right as your are approaching Nadhezino you notice your fellow survivor had died a few minutes earlier, but hes getting up. Your friend sinks his teeth into your neck, you freak out, crash into a tree, and the car explodes. Once a survivor dies to wounds from zombies his corpse will become controlled by the zombie AI and he will get up and attack what was his "friends" just a few minutes before. This is just a nice touch that could be very easily implemented and would add alot to the game, including a huge sense of irony For the love of god port some of ArmA 3's amazing new features. -The movement system In ArmA 3 there are many different ways to fight besides just pressing "q" and "e" to lean left and right. You can peak over walls while prone, duck lower when your crouched and even go into a last stand mode. This will add a whole new dimension to firefights and make them as great as they can possibly be. -Weapon and outfit customization While watching the ArmA 3 E3 presentation, i got a glimpse of the inventory system. There was an individual slot for your headgear and even your vest i think. You should be able to control what your character is wearing on his legs, feet, torso, and head. This ill become a huge part of the game in my opinion, i'll mention why later. Weapon customization is a very simple matter. I shouldnt have to find a silenced m4 just to have a silenced weapon. Maybe i have an m16 and i like its accuracy and barrel length more than the M4. This can be easily resolved by taking the silencer and putting it on my m16. Next, i find an AKS Kobra. Im really liking that holo sight so i take it and mount it on my m16. Keep some of that good old ArmAness -People dont realize what a huge impact ArmA has on DayZ, it determines how weapons handle, how your character moves, the bullet physics, etc. All those things i just mentioned should not change at all in DayZ standalone (except for maybe animations). I still want it to be hard to hit something at 200 meters, i still want to have to zero my gun, and i still want players to die with one well placed shot to the head. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FIX ATV PHYSICS. Being that DayZ will be built on the same engine all these features should be relatively easy to carry over. Clothing -Clothing, armor, and weather system Clothing should be a very important part of the game and you should have to adapt it based on what you're doing and how the weather is. If its raining, a raincoat will prevent you from getting cold. If its cold, a jacket will prevent you from getting sick BUT it will slow you down, making you more vulnerable. But because the jacket is thick, zombies will have a hard time biting you. If you have a leather vest, you become more resistant to zombie bites and you will seldom bleed from the torso. If youre in a fire fight a kevlar vest could save your life. If youre fighting zombies a right shield could help push them back. A helmet will protect you from shrapnel and ricochets. Steel toed boots will make it possible to kick down doors but will also increase how loud you are. The possibilities are endless! Everything will have a pro and a con. Overhauled medical system -This will create an entirely new plethora of problems that survivors have to deal with. Bandages only SLOW bleeding until it stops. Breaking a leg will take time to heal, you'll be slower, but with a splint you'll at least be able to walk and drive. An electric shock will take a person out off unconsciosness but will also take time to execute. All medical actions should have custom animations of course. There should be alot of consequences for all damage taken. EX: you get shot in the arm but luckily your buddy kills the assailant. You have to pull the led out of your arm with some pliers (farcry 2 anyone?). Afterwards, you have to bandage it to slow the bleeding, which will eventually stop on its own. If you dont have antiseptic, you have a 30% chance of your arm becoming infected. But you dont have any antiseptic. You must search for antibiotics before the infection slowly worsens. You find some but your blood is at 7000 by the time you do. THANKFULLY blood cells multiply and you will slowly regenerate blood over hours of play. Heres the awesome part: You bled from your arm and put a bandage on it. A bloody bandage will now be displayed on your characters arm. Wherever your character gets injured, it should look like he actually got hurt. GORE :D Damage should be locational, and will affect the body parts where the damage occurs. If i shoot a survivor with an AS50 i want to see that survivor be obliterated by a .50 caliber round. If i headshot a zombie with an axe, that head should come clean off. If the dude with the AS50 misses and hits your leg, your leg gets obliterated and the wound is fatal. You will be able to crawl around and still shoot in the last 30 seconds before your fatal wound renders you totall useless. You get shot in the torso and live? Your bloody shirt will be a reminder of what happened both to you and to survivors you meet. Basebuilding -Underground bases shouldnt be the only option, but they should be the most safe. Building them will take alot of time and planning but itll be worth it because, well, its underground lol. These should take alot of manpower, time, and supplies to construct. Undeground bases should only be one option. Additionally, you should also be able to explore like a subway or something, and build a base there. -Above ground You can modify already existing structures. Board up thier windows, add lighting, put up a perimeter fence, add sandbags to the roof, put up floodlights. The idea is to erect a fortified position similar to the one in 28 days later, when the soldiers are hiding out. You can also build an above ground base from scratch if you want, but it will take more manpower, more supplies, and some cars. When imagining these bases, think about the favelas made up of tin houses in poorer regions of the world. These should look like they were built out of desperation, and they can be gradually be improved up by adding more fortification and stuff. Capturing Areas -many people have already suggested this. Basically, if a group of survivors can take and hold a certain section of a city or a town, Zombies will stop respawing as long as people remain there, or some sort of fortifications are built. New Areas to loot Subways and military bunkers, that is all. Both locations will always be dark and require nightvision or flashlights. Also: -Government buildings (think about fortifying the white house or a prime ministers home) these give a glimpse of the political infastructure that once existed. -Police stations will function as "firestations" function now. Loot Spawning - loot should spawn in a matter of different ways. On shelves, in drawers, in lockers, in refrigerators, in safes. Think of the way you loot buildings in skyrim. Guns and combat -Variety All weapons should make sense. That means, that i should have a very slim chance of finding an m4 in a former soviet republic. I'm talking about being able to find like 8 different ak variants, mosin nagants, eastern european weapons. -More low tier weapons Pistols should play a much bigger role in the game and be much more common. Having a rifle should be a luxury and having a military rifle should be even more so. Military weapons should be exclusive to military instalations like police stations, airfields, road blocks, etc. Everywhere else, you will find mostly pistols with some scattered hunting rifles and a wide variety of shotguns. Also, melee weapons should be literally EVERYWHERE, as pretty much anything can function as a blugeon. Crafting will also affect weapons as well. Well thats basically it. This is the result of playing 400hrs of DayZ and me wanting the standalone to be the best game it could possibly be. Cheers. EDIT: Almost forgot, make the game modable. Allow things like texture packs and graphical mods.

  7. New Hardcore Server No third person No crosshairs No waypoints No sidechat No Name plates Default amount of vehicles No custom loadout Default view distance changed to 3000 Auto-Refuel Script that works at major gas stations only Custom AI bandit squads all with individual loadouts Suicide Bomber (COMING SOON) Active Admins Server is under constant admin care Database management to undo damage caused by hackers Custom Anti-Hacks that logs everything This is the way DayZ was meant to be played. It adds a whole new element of realism and difficulty. Surviving is no longer a "walk in the park" as it is in other private hives that give you everything from the start. Come check it out... if you are up for the challenge. Server IP: 23.29.119.166:2332 (Hosted in Dallas, USA)
  8. I am quite new to the game and was looking for a server that could help me get into Dayz without hackers or bandits screwing me around. I am not sure who hosted it but the server I played on with the ip 185.2.138.60:3374 was awesome. It had admins that answered my questions on and I had a really great time. I genuinely think this is one of the best servers I have ever played on. My friends and I now only play on this server. There were a lot of vehicles on the server also I saw a few helis fly over Cherno and kacked my pants a few times. If anyone wants to come on a team up that would be cool. Charlie Noob
  9. Raged

    Upgradeable objects

Rocket said at PAX that if this is implemented, it'll be limited to boarding up windows and stuff like that. No construction outside of set structures, but the ability to fortify a farmhouse or such to keep zed out. I can see the car 'upgrading' happening though. They want to add it in but that wouldn't be til almost the end of alpha. but even with 'customization' of vehicles, idk if buses built into tanks will happen. Probably just more Mad Max style cars.
  10. Having this same problem on the server i play on, along with pretty much every other player on said server, admin says its got something to do with something he added, either the number of AI or the number of vehicles, most annoying and has made it impossible for me to fly anymore :(
  11. We got tired of the hackers of the public hive, and the abusive admins that were so common in the private hive. So we decided to start hosting! Website - Zedlockservers.weebly.com IP: 50.97.49.66 Port: 3153 We implemented TONS of custom features that we thought people would love. - wandering NPC survivors and bandits - custom vehicles - Very rare high-power vehicles (require TONS of repairs and fuel) such as T-90 tanks, as well as jets that require more than one person to operate effectively - Non-spawning weapons such as the Mk12 SPR, M60E4, and many more - Custom skins - Custom Mission File - Custom Locations Come on down and give us a try, we are looking to increase our player base!
  12. The answer is rather simple, actually. The Illuminati boffins are constantly making progressive changes to the server to keep game play fresh and interesting – NPCs, the ability to take apart vehicles and use the parts on other vehicles, towing vehicles and airlifting them, tremors, extra enterable, lootable buildings (castles, barracks, mansions, medical tents, industrial buildings) and many new features to come. thats why
  13. Okay Survivor. You find yourself in a zombie apocalypse with nowhere to hang your baseball cap. Not only are there the Undead, bandits and the need to gear-up with the essentials for survival (and a boom stick), there are also roaming bands of hostile riflemen and snipers who do not distinguish between human and walkers. And to cap it all, the world is changing on a daily basis. Welcome to Chernarus Plus. So, why would you, with your busy schedule want or even need to join IlluminatiDayz.com? The answer is rather simple, actually. The Illuminati boffins are constantly making progressive changes to the server to keep game play fresh and interesting – NPCs, the ability to take apart vehicles and use the parts on other vehicles, towing vehicles and airlifting them, tremors, extra enterable, lootable buildings (castles, barracks, mansions, medical tents, industrial buildings) and many new features to come. We want your feedback. Tell us what you like and what you don’t. Be a part of the server, not just as a player. Give us your impressions and ideas to help shape the server for the better. UAZ repair

Give it a whack with your hatchet once, then try. For some reason this seems to allow the repairs to happen when vehicles get bugged.
  15. BUMP. As I've mentioned earlier - we're a very friendly community that's looking for new members. Lots of cars, helicopters and other vehicles. We plan to remove all the .50 cal snipers(due to obvious reasons) and add even more features.
  16. March 28 2013 > Any vehicles that are out of bounds will now have their inventory and position reset back to default. The first pass of this revealed that 11 vehicles were out of bounds, including two choppers, they have been reset to default.

    Skilled Vs Unskilled bandits

I don't think it's a question of skill, just different playstyles. Some people enjoy just shoot targets far away or KoS CQC and getting some beans afterwards. Other enjoy interacting with their victims on some level and maybe getting more out of it than just some gear they don't need and a kill count. In that sense, I could mean the experience of player interaction or "holding up a guy" then tracking him back to his camp or his buddies to kill or steal from. Now, I am a Hero, but I respect all bandit play styles that aren't hacking, but my question for the KoS people, why not just play Arma/Wasteland? It gives you the same experience of intense fighting with high-end weapons, and the zombies don't get in the way. However, I highly doubt you can effectively hold up and kidnap someone in a Wasteland server or a general Arma multilayer mission. They would just try and shoot you, respawn, and come back after you with vehicles and guns. DayZ was deigned for player interaction. It is of course optional, but why not? We don't all have to be care bear Heroes and rebuild society, but you don't have to shoot everything that moves all the time, I'd image that would get a bit stale. And on the victims standpoint, it can be much more enjoyable even if it ends in death. Some of my most intense and enjoyable bandit related experiences, beyond the intense firefights where only one of us barely walks or crawls away, were ones where I was held-up, kidnapped, left for dead in the middle of nowhere without a map, or forced into participating in hatchet fights with a gambling ring. Try to be more creative, bandits of DayZ. It will be more fun for all of us.
  18. Hi again peps, it seems to me that this part I suggested might get a little misunderstood if not properly explained.and I forgot to put an extra string of the idea that I had about this, so yea basically I forgot and missed to add a few bits of detail into it. Explanation to the idea: What I stressed out here that we the players, gather stuff in our tents and it's God damn frustrating when it get's looted or flatten and the same think can be added to vehicles... we dislike being robbed and not having the possibility to defend it or have a slight way to defend it. Disabling the feature to rob camps/tent/vehicles would be down right stupid cause then it would be unfair to the side that does the robbing but also us the players can't stay 24/7 into a game w/o sleep just to defend something that isn't real in the end but still put a lot of effort getting that. If hopefully the game will be made more harder in scarcity of resources and not made for CoD/CS kids(don't get me wrong they're great games, but they address to a total different audience and game pace than what I think the majority of DayZ fans seek), then we would feel even more bitter when we do get robbed and being unable to protect our crap... On a further note DayZ will have camps one way or another if they can be build by anyone and anywhere.... we might have empty camps everywhere like but the same thing goes... we wouldn't be able to protect them while offline and even if a camp might be built by a clan of 20ppl or more, I don't know how if all players might want to do "guard" shifts to protect that for a long period of time because they will get bored and in the end we will reach to the same conclusion, we will lose all our gathering work for nothing. Maybe I expressed myself calling out the name of "bots", maybe the word of "npc" is more appealing, in the end won't matter how it's called if it does what it should do and that is: IF the player has a tent, a vehicle then that player goes offline then AND ONLY THEN his character becomes a living npc with the sole duty to linger around that tent or vehicle and protect it at all costs. I didn't said that the "npcs" should stray away from their sole purpose to give us a bit of reassurance that something keeps an eye on our stuff. Addition to: Continuity of gameplay while offline. Since I forgot to add this I might as well add it here... When a player goes offline and if he has something defensible or his group/clan has a camp, he's character becomes an "npc" and frees a player slot in the server capacity so other player can join, it shouldn't keep the slot occupied or anything like that. And on another note related to them, it would be stressful if then tent etc. is attacked and the npc defense fall and dies then all the loot of the player to be lost... But instead, the npc should have a random loot created in it based on few factors that he has: depending what he's wearing then you might get something from his clothing, maybe some weapon rounds, maybe something from his tools or his weapon, random chance generated into his loot table but definitely they shouldn't be lost from the player. Also if an objective that is defended falls, then when the player logs in he might log into a random spot few km away from that objective. Again thanks for reading and hopefully people might contribute to this, maybe perfect the ideas and make them grow, maybe Rocket and Bohemia take a peak to this and decides to have something out of it.
  19. We just started our fourth DayZ server, hosted by DayZ.ST It's on Chernarus(may change it every now and then),a Private Hive in Europe, with lot's of vehicles, active admins, and constant backups incase a hacker strikes.Server restarts every 12 hours. Maximum ping is around 400,so players with high ping can join us. Spawning Gear is simple,G17,bandage,painkillers,map/compass,binos and water bottle. Killing admins or CODS members or raiding our camps will NOT result in a ban like in some other servers,we want you to attack us,we always enjoy a great fight! The IP is :159.253.149.54:3425 Exact Name is :DayZChernarus - (1.7.6.1/102591) [RECRUIT][GMT-1] Private Hive - CODS-CLAN and DAYZ.ST | DayZ.ST You're welcome to join us on our forums at codsclan.co.nr.You don't have to register before you play, but if you want to interact with our community or get our teamspeak password to find friends, you have to register

  23. I run a server through DayZ.ST its a private hive server because I have installed rmod (Only for weapons and a few hidden military vehicles, mostly Humvee variants, for survivors to find). I admin the server myself very relaxed, but I'm looking for platers to play on my server who want to play dayz like a survival sim as intended. I manually place loot myself through my database and redid the loot tables for vehicles so if you find a vehicle your likely to find some other treasures aswell. Anyone interested please let me know it would be fun to have people to play with and talk to. you can find my server by searching shry in Dayz commander. I was also wondering if anyone can help me find out how to get my server on a Day/night cycle by smaller than 12hrs. And on another note: I will reward dedicated players by restoring there equipement upon death as far as the weapon, backpack, and side arm they have.
  24. It sounds like you can only: kick, ban, restart and change some basic features. I thought hosting a DayZ private hive server would allow you to spawn items, spawn vehicles, go invisible and teleport to certain people. Can you spawn items, or do these things?
  25. I will stick to my normal statement about these kinds of servers... Vanilla>Extra Vehicles/Starting Loadouts
