How far off is the hotfix? I know of a lot of players who are leaving in & droves swearing they won't play again till standalone due to 1.7.5 being broken. Personally, if the zombies weren't bugged and glitch hitting people through floors of buildings & moving vehicles and being 10m away from a chopper making the occupants bleed (lolwttf?) then it would be workable. At the moment the zombies do not appear to be hard, just broken.

Hi guys, really sorry if this is off topic but I really need some help on Days 2017! Can everyone please post their advice and tips for surviving! I have a few questions 1. Is it worth going up north in dayz 2017? If not where should my main objective be? 2. Vehicle spawns - where are the best places to find vehicles? Where are the gyrocopters/tanks spawn? 3. Where is the best place to find loot? 4. What is the best possible gun in the game? Oh- and if u wanna reccomend or server too, feel free to do so :))) Hopefully this gets some responses - would be well appreciated Thanking u all in advance Wi11sh0tu

Who Else Thinks 1.7.5.1 Pushes Annoyance and Survival Too Far?

I'm actually really pleased with the direction they're heading. I am ALL for increasing the survival aspect of the game, in fact most of these changes you've listed are things I wanted to be in the game for ages (boiling water, blood bags giving infection, zombies spawning while in a vehicle and players not being invulnerable to zombies in vehicles among others). Moreover, meat never stacked to begin with. I do think that with zombies being the buggiest feature in any game ever they should be fixing them before making them harder. When they're fixed I'm all for having BRUTAL zombies, but I want them to be proper difficult to handle and not artificially difficult because they're super glitchy. That said, last week I've been playing on a server where zombie damage and numbers have been increased tenfold, they're able to hit you while you're running and they spawn randomly in the woods, and vanilla zombies are laughable after this experience :P -

Would highly recommend this sever if you are looking for the feel of original DayZ as an old school player whose been around for a while, or if you feel like you missed the boat on that and think most hives are strange version of ARMA 2 pvp :) make no mistake pvp is here but its up close and personal, you gotta work for it and the risk reward metrics are much more interesting as not every player will have full gear but an Alice pack is worth a fight Its not scarcity taken to an annoying level, just one that makes there actually a point to fighting, looting, and raiding camps right now the sever is an all out faction war between a couple groups vying for vehicles, cities, and gear with the occasional lone wolfs in the mix too :) also the community is great and there is a mumble server where you can meet peeps, join up with people and get into the action :) -
Been suggested a few times recently but I dont think it's a good idea to be honest. These natural disasters would soon start to dominate the game and become far too common. I do like the idea of better weather effects that have greater affect on game play such as high winds affecting vehicle handling and even shooting, fog and heavy rain affecting visibility , wet roads making vehicles handle poorer, etc. that sort of thing. No to earthquakes, twisters, volcanic eruptions and things like that though.

So Natural Disasters! Like heavy storms that last a long time, maybe you cant fly choppers in heavy storms? + Get infected cause your wet and cold, hurricanes and twisters (i know quite far fetched but possible) that damage vehicles and stuff, flooding (coastal areas) that make it harder to travel along the coast, maybe more boats would be needed? would be huge fun!

In case of a Zombie or Mutant Apocalypse they would rather use Napalm than anything radioactive...You don't have to destroy vehicles/weapons because zombies don't drive tanks... The infection thing coming up will be threatening enough I think...when you're infected you can run, but you can't hide :D

we all hate overloading our tents/vehicles then scrambling around in the bushes looking for FAL mags etc don't we? I know you can count like number of weapon/tool slots and number of item slots but tbh it is an unnecessary task to be arsed with. Can we maybe have an inventory system where say when you open a tent to put stuff in it, it just simply says weapon/tool 3/10 left and item 33/50 left or something?

It's an aircraft that no one was actually standing by or actively using when I approached it. I always check to see if there's gear in any vehicle, because there are plenty of servers that throw gear pre-loaded into them. Did I find it weird that there were the items that I found? Of course, cause normally I don't find items of that value in vehicles/aircraft. When I got into the air and headed towards my friend at the gas station, the people talking on voice in the side channel, as you saw from the video, weren't exactly helpful. I had full intent on returning the aircraft to the location that I found it, again, as you saw me put it into auto-hover to turn around. After the remark that I'm assuming a regular made that told me to just get out of it, I was kicked. I even asked in side channel, in text as you can see from the video, when I noticed the commotion in voice, if it belonged to the admin that they were chanting about. I mean, I can understand if I killed someone for it then took off, but I didn't. We can both agree that would be considered stealing. It was my first time on the server, and I was just looking for an aircraft to fly. I was unfamiliar with the particular one that I took that it belonged to the admin or whoever it was. Sorry that it had to turn out this way. I just feel that situation could have been handled differently, other than cursing at me, kicking me, and having the vehicle destroyed. I don't wish to appeal, that server does not seem like one I would visit again. Good luck with your future endeavors.

I am editing the map to create high value military camps (with very high risk due to large zombie count and choke points) for players on my server (via modified mission), was looking for something longer than the h barrier so that I can reduce the 20,000 "vehicles" (I guess fortifications are vehicles in zombie land lol) that I currently have in the mission.sqm right now.

Accprding to Vilayer, the tent issue is a big problem and is the same for many providers. Apparently the 1.7.5.1. updatebeing poorly coded along with the owner of the Bliss Hive abandoning his Bliss Hive project have caused a lot of errors and occurances where data is not written to the database correctly. Vilayers head coder is currently working on a fix but it will take a day or two to be completed. Once the fix is in place I will wipe all tents and have a fresh map. This will only affect tents. Vehicles and character data will remain unchanged :thumbsup: -
Yup. What a great effort to attract people to a server. Add extra loot and vehicles and post a half-ass thread. You sir, win at the internet.

hi , ive got my own server (just normal private hive) but ive added extra vehicles and spawning loot , its not been very busy but would be cool to have it kind of busy so if you could go on it then thanks :D search cudds dayz

Cant Change map to Utes? (1st post and new user)

this is my first time posting in these forums and I think this is the right place to post because my server is a private hive server. So if i dont understand the terminology or anything specific right away, its because im new. Ok here is my situation: My friend and I own a private hive server and we manage it together. I mostly spawn vehicles and restart the server and deal with other problems. My friend mostly changes the map and the settings (and does what i do too). Since we both own the server, I asked him if i could change the map (because I have a great PvP idea for Utes). He says sure. So, I have never changed the server map before and a simple solution maybe the answer to this problem. My problem: I wish to change the map to Utes to make it a PvP server, and I dont see the map name under "* Change map". Is there a specific reason why I cant change it to Utes? Screenshot is attached to post What I think the problem might be: My server is a private hive server. Please give me a solution to my problem and tell me what I need to do step by step. That would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Srry, this is my first post. -
The answer is more 'why not?' after considering the pros and cons of shooting other players on sight. Cons ???? Pros I get their stuff. Maybe they don't have anything I need, but if that's the case I still haven't lost anything except a few bullets. I am not dead because they are. Players make more entertaining opponents than zombies, but there is a thrill in catching someone well geared totally off-guard----you get their shit and they don't have a chance to return fire. Some people take this game way too seriously (and are also ignorant of spawn locations and poor fighters/zombie managers, so it takes them longer to recover from a death) and their outraged reactions are entertaining. Let me see if I can't show you my perspective a bit by telling you how I play through this game. I start out by picking a fairly low pop server (fewer than 10) players. I kill myself until I spawn in either Balota, Electro, or Cherno. Once there, I run through the entire city and loot every major spawn. (Military/Store/Big Res Spawns) If I find a player before I have a weapon I run, if I find one after, I kill the player in the hopes that his gear can advance me along a bit so that I don't have to look elsewhere for say...a box of matches or a decent pack. After I loot a whole city in this fashion I usually end up with most of the tools I could use (toolbox/hunting knife/axe/BoM/map), at least one decent primary weapon and a secondary weapon. Once I've got that shit I set a nav point to Starry and run there. Once again, any players I encounter I kill in the hopes that they will have some of the things I'm looking for. Later on, finding things like Rangefinders and NVGs is time consuming as all hell unless you get them from another player, which I do 95% of the time. I cautiously enter Starry (I'll usually lie in overwatch for a bit to make sure no one is there waiting) and go to the tents and then the supermarket. I loot those things, then I set a nav to the NWAF and go loot it. Several times along the way, if server pop goes up too much I'll find another low pop server to go on (looting the NWAF on a high pop server is just not worth the trouble) and if there are spawning issues on a server I join...I join another and loot the same building again. Anyway, I want to end up with two rare or higher quality weapons (sniper rifle preferred for one of those), an ALICE pack or better, every tool I need to fix vehicles, feed myself, and navigate, and either a PDW or silenced M9 as a secondary weapon. Once I have all of that, I meet up with my other friends who have been doing the same shit, we go onto a high pop server and try to find/steal vehicles and accumulate gear in a secluded camp (along with the vehicles) with the eventual goal of having a helicopter for the group, and several ground vehicles and several tents stocked with weapons/equip/food/repair parts/etc. and on a personal level having your favorite weapon combo (for me happens to be DMR/Mk 48/M9-silenced), NVGs, Rangefinder, GPS, Gillie Suit, and a Coyote Pack. At that point we fly around playing vengeful gods of DayZ destroying everything we can because it's what we find entertaining.

Admins that spawn stuff to be "Helpful". Yes or no?

Bad title is bad. It should read "generous admins". A helpful admin will help you when the game is glitched beyond your control (you are stuck in the ocean for example) or the server is lagging badly and needs a premature restart etc. Any admin that uses his powers to create items, teleport players who doesn't really need it, spawns vehicles because people complain on the lack of vehicles etc are just cheating the game and all players on his server. I have been to many servers where the admins are the biggest cheaters on there. I mean, the average script kiddie comes and goes but the admins are there cheating all the time. I have been to servers that kick and/or ban you for killing the admins or taking their stuff like vehicles and their camp stash... Seriously? It's a matter of finding a good server with proper admins that doesn't influence the game in any way beyond keeping the server clean of f-tards and cheaters and keeping the server operating smoothly in general. I have thought about setting up our own server but CBA to advertise it and populate it. If we did the number one rule would be: "Server admins will never use their powers unless absolutely necessary. Which would only happen to investigate cheaters, exploiters or obvious game bugs." Using the powers for anything else is cheating, plain and simple. -
Public servers: few vehicles, tons of hackers. Well maintianed Private servers: More vehicles, less hackers.

That looks nice. I also see a bunch of other neat stuff on their (old) change list: Can no longer abuse blood bags to spam infinite humanity (not sure how they do it, maybe just a fix for an old bug, but sure would be nice to stop bandits from masquerading as heroes/survivors. Maybe only gain humanity from giving the same person blood once / X amount of time - a day or so?) Chloroform. In an experiment to see how heroes and bandits alike use it, Chloroform now rarely spawn in hospitals. You use it just like a blood bag, and it will knock the person unconscious for 3.5 minutes. You can drag them around, load them into a vehicle, or whatever else sounds fun! Tents can no longer be placed in or near buildings. They must also be placed on grass or forest (not, for example, concrete) 1st person is now enforced while inside of any vehicle (both for the survival experience improvement and to make locating tents/camps from vehicles more difficult) If you have a "Box of Matches", you can set tents on fire. This destroys their contents and deletes them from the database so they don't return on restart. You can no longer force feed yourself. You must be at least 1/4 of the way to blinking food/drink before you can consume food/drink. You no longer spawn with a backpack of any kind. Loot spawns even if you're in a vehicle, negating the "park'n'walk" requirement for getting loot. The "Map" no longer spawns by its lonesome, but with other general loot around it just like all of the other tools. Ghillie/Cammo removed from residential loot (only spawns in military/barracks/heli crashes now) Introduced new persistent storage container called "Storage Box". Created using nails, a toolbox, and wood pile. Holds 4 weapon/tools and 20 items. Can be placed ANYWHERE (unlike tents) All sniper rifles removed EXCEPT for the CZ550 and the M24. The CZ550 now only spawns in Deer Stands and the M24 only with helicopter crashes. Both are very rare. Ammo for these rifles does NOT spawn organically in the game and you only get what you find with the gun itself. All silenced weapons removed EXCEPT for the M9 SD and MP5 SD. Both spawn only at helicopter crashes. Both are very rare. Ammo for these weapons does NOT spawn organically in the game and you only get what you find with the gun itself. One LMG removed (M240), the rest (Mk48 Mod 0 and M249) now only spawn at helicopter crashes. Ammo for these guns does NOT spawn organically in the game and you only get what you find with the gun itself. Lee Enfield and Winchester removed from residential loot. Farm Only. Zombie density should be slightly higher and therefore cause zombies to become that much more of a nuisance more quickly.
