Standalone balance and snipers

You forget that due to the high militerized nature of the area, formor Militery person could easily common place, and for the weight issue: doesn't the Militery Carry all the extra ammo and weapons in vehicles around rather than carrying them? And for the damage system, dayz is its own game now and can be made with a better damage system. -
Molotovs could be pretty cool but I imagine would take a ton of work to make properly. Also they seem pretty ineffective in most cases, remember the fuel has to splash all over someone to kill them and it will usually splash mostly on the ground. In WW2 these were used mostly against tanks to try to set vital parts or the fuel lines on fire, not against infantry. They can still be effective if a tank hatch is left open... they could be used to set vehicles alight and ruin them. Same for people hiding in places that can be set on fire. Look at this video (30 seconds in), they don't seem too effective against individual people outside, they seem to be more useful if people are inside something flammable, such as a vehicle or a room to drive them out of.

I made this server because I was taunted repeatedly by abusive admins and hackers. I want my friends and family to have a legit place to play Day Z without wasting all of their game time only to be banned or killed for stupid reasons. If your sick of childish or inactive admins, hackers, or unstoppable bandit clans come to our server! We have a friendly helpful admin team that is more than willing to teach newcomers. You have direct contact with admins via facebook. We keep a constant eye on our logs for hackers and keep an active presence on the server daily. Code ideas, requests, and general improvement suggestions are always welcome. We have full moon nights, and are adding custom buildings and towns based on reasonable user request. ;p There are 175 vehicles so they are reasonably common for you motor heads, there's a decent amount of Helicopters too, roughly 6-8 variants spawned with random conditions. Hey there, everyone! I would just like to say that I've just created a private hive server for the map Taviana (US). I'm in bad need of players so therefor I've made the server great to be on. What does this server offer? - The server is running with over 500 vehicle spawn points. - All vehicles in the server is fully repaired (And I will also consider putting fuel in them) - Logs will be checked every restart (Trying to keep hackers away from the server) - "Nukes" and other sort of hacking will be recovered with the latest backup. - Friendly admin(s)! Hey guys! I have just started up a DayZPanthera server which is really fun with a lot of FRIENDLY people in it! I would say join, cause you start with a Bizon PP-19 against the zombies, and its not very effective against players. You get a map and some other things like a hatchet. It's a really cool server with active admins and much vehicles. So if you're looking for a good server go to DayZCommander -> Favorites and type this IP in at the top: 159.253.143.16:3340 Port: 3340 The title of this topic is also the name of the server, so you can find it like that aswell. Hello there fellow country man! :P I just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents here cos I dont agree with NPCs in DayZ: 1. It has been done has it not? Its a trend nowadays in private hives to have NPCs around the map. Like having 838439 vehicles and the like. 2. I really dont get what your point is here. Care to elaborate? 3. I think player interaction is far more interesting than any interaction with an NPC. With NPCs you dont get any tension or adrenalin rush. You know their behaviour and know how to manipulate it. Its just boring. With other human players thats a different story. You dont know if you can trust them and you never know if they are gonna hatchet you to death once you turn your back. 4. This is a zombie apocalipse! Not the supermarket on a saturday morning! :P You dont meet people all the time and everywhere. If empty servers is your problem dont join them. Simplez! Also: From what I've seen NPCs on DayZ servers are incredibly silly and OP at the same time. Once they might snipe you from 300 meters away(in a bush with a guillie) and the other time you might stroll up to them and they barely blink. If they are to be included (not for me thanks! They are fine as an admin option on private hives) they should be done right. Cheers :P

NEW FEATURES: Biplane's & LittleBirds now have M240 mounted facing forward and controlled by pilot's trigger. Ability to remove undamaged parts from vehicles. Ability to sleep in tent to regain full blood. (WARNING: You are VERY vulnerable while sleeping!) -
I think the Standalone will be fantastic, no matter what the other threads say.

My hope is that SA will be more survival focused. Tougher zombies, more ways to get sick and injured, and more co operation needed to repair/build/heal. I'm excited about the crafting aspect and the potential trading economy that will arise. I hope to god that vehicles are not as fragile! Sick of spending hours getting an Atv up too all green status then bump a tree at 5kph and EVERYTHING gets damaged. -

I think it will be fun for those of us that want to play DayZ. For those that want to play super COD sandbox extreme 1000+ vehicles, Start with AS50 - they will hopefully be very disappointed. I just don't want them to ruin the game by catering to morons who want it to be easy. -

hy mate many thanks for the post.. I am going to add a line to the OP to clarify this a little more as its caught a couple of people out now. The helicopter i assume you are refering too was either 1o2 from NWAF 1 from NEAF or 1 from kamenka??? These are reset on restart to prevent hording of every vehicle and allow some people to have a go in a heli that havnt already used one etc. there are ovr 90 vehicles in the server that are all safe to store gear in...including littlebirds and mi17 helis too however ALL HUEYS reset on restart for the reasons listed above... appolgies for not making this clearer i will edit the OP to explain this there and hopefully eliminate all confusion... again thanks for your post mate... just to confirm ALL HUEYS reset on restart but they are the only ones. -

Hey there, me and my friend started to play DayZ mod for the first time couple of days ago and we randomly selected a server, and we selected this one. Me and my friend totally like the server and now that I checked what the GBYC was all about I like the server even more. Something that we though find annoying is the every 8 hour server restart, the restart itself is not bad since the actual restart takes about 3-5min, but the real annoyance is that we lose our vehicle everytime the server restart happends. For example we had a helicopter which helps alot traveling around the world, but is there a reason why vehicles vanishes after the server restart ? Though after the server restart we visited an airport and found alot of air vehicles, 2 choppers & few planes 100% operational ready for lift off. Is the vehicle restart ment to give more fair gameplay expirience for new players so that the ''pro players'' wont be stealing/denying the awesome helicopters from other players ? It was kinda annoying to store items into the helicopter only to find out that it vanished after the restart. Either way we are planning to stay on the server, especially now that we know that GBYC is a friendly clan, meaning that we can have fun in the game and not being worried about bandits that much, or hackers. -
One day me and my friend was in somewhere close from Kabanino. There was barn. In that server there was no other players. Server name was "HUNDERDS OF VEHICLES" or something like that. We was walking nearby that barn. I did hear shot and i asked from my friend "What are you shooting?!?!?" he did say "No im not shooting. I did think you are shooting" And then shots didn't stop. I did hear like 11 shots??? We was in Stary Soboro(we did have car) and i did go out from the car. FUCK I DID SCARE! There was like other player it just glitter he was in front of me like 1 sec and then did disapear. He did have black clothes and somekind of automatic weapon i didn't see that weapon very well. It wasn't my friend because he was left from me. Next day i sayed what i did see for my friend and he did se that "Ghost" did can be hacker. If you know anything report for me! If this is myth im gonna give it name and its "Stary Soboro ghost"

I have wondered since we are able to craft items and make them into weapons or disinfect items, could we make more varieties of food and make it enhance healing properties, hunger satisfaction and different blood gains. Looks like brains won't be the only dish for zombies! How Foods Can Be Crafted *This would work with the drag/drop option in the inventory system to make it easier to create several dishes. *An ability to eat raw products but could cause a consequence(especially meats which could hold in diseases such as salmonella) *Once cooking over a fire, you'd have to keep an eye out on what's on the fire on a skillet/frying pan. You'd have to watch how items will be cooked/boiled to watch out for it being overcooked/undercooked.With more food varieties, we could have an option to combine food items by drag and drop over them which was demonstrated at PAX East with the new inventory system. No death messages. EVR and Stalkers are active. GMT-6 Standard loadout/vehicles with a few tweaks. Dedicated hardware (Data Center based) with robust anti-cheat protection: BEC and Ant-HAx. Active Admins. Live stats that show your humanity: http://iogc.co.uk/stats/namalsk/ (if you die your stats get wiped). Note* Currently offline atm. Any issues like lost gear, suspected scripters etc, then posting on our forums you will get a quick response. Are you using TS? I personally hate skype, at least when it's several people? Why? Because the push to talk, or rather push to mute is very.. just .. bad. I've played a fair share of DayZ and i do prefer the normal mod. Private hives are fun as long as not too much extra is added. A server with too many vehicles tends to get, well, boring. PM me if you wish, i am easygoing but serious when need be. -

Thanks :) And i agree i have griped at him about the abundance of vehicles on the server, I think he has deleted the database and redid all the spawns, so there are not as many lol. He prolly got tired of me griping about it. And feel free to drop in mumble anytime! -
I've been playing this amazing rMod 2 Server for a while now and we barely get any players due to the fact that no one knows where to download it. My Suggestion: Add rMod and all of its current versions to DayZCommander. Why rMod is a great addon for DayZ: rMod adds a number of new possibilities for playing DayZ, allowing you to use cool weapons, vehicles, and skins from the vanilla ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 OA game, making variation a pleasant feeling in a server; knowing you have a MK17 SD Sniper at hand with a BTR-40 as your vehicle saying "Ain't No one gonna stop me". As of now, there are 3 different rMod versions; the original rMod, which unlocks most weapons and vehicles from the vanilla game and nothing else, rMod 2 brings in the creativity of the Armaholic.com users into play, adding in a couple new weapon packs, and making more vanilla stuff more available, and rMod 2.1 goes above and beyond, adding more weapon packs and even new vehicles, including helicopters and Jeeps, and even colorful SUV's. I ask everyone who would love to try something new or have a new challenge in their DayZ adventures with these new weapons and vehicles and give rMod a chance to get on DayZCommander. ]TPG[ is a casual, community-based gaming clan. We were started as a CS:S and TF2 clan, but we've since evolved and expanded into many other games, including DayZ. Of the games we play, we take DayZ the most seriously. That being said, we're about having a good time and surviving - not about being douches, We operate US106 (NJ3), a 40-man server based in New Jersey, and there are many members and regs playing throughout the day. While our community hails primarily from the USA's east coast, we have players from Canada, the UK, Malta, Belgium and Australia (and perhaps a couple more I forgot) We try not to shoot first and we generally respect anyone's coastal declarations of friendly. We like to work as a team to raid towns for gear, find and fix vehicles and the like. Most of our players have 6 or more weeks of experience, but we are happy to welcome anyone regardless of skill, experience or geographic location. Gamer Lounge is, simply put, a group of people who just play games for fun. Mainly DayZ, but we play others as well. We currently have a Battleye enabled server with many custom mods that require no extra downloads client side such as custom antihacks, self blood bagging, towing for vehicles, autorefuel, and more. We also have a custom version of Chenarus with many camps and increased military spawns, which I am currently creating and implementing. Our teamspeak is ts50.light-speed.com:3851 and our server is called Gamer Lounge Custom Bases Self Blood Bag & More, or just put Gamer Lounge in the filter. We only recently turned on Battleye, so the player count is quite low, but I and others hope to see whoever reads this either on the server, teamspeak, or both.
