    Why make instanced or underground bases?

    Fairly clear that you have not done your homework on this OP. At no point have vehicles been linked with the planned underground structures, and at no point will they be "safe" from being raided. Also using an instance would add performance due to the load not always beng dropped on the server.

Dogs are now on the server. kennels have been placed around the map and you will hear dog barking when close to one. all you need to do once you find one is waid until the dog spawns. once spawned you can then access the commands by scrolling you mouse wheel. Dogs will attack zedz and bark if a player is close by. Dogs will also get into vehicles with you.
  5. Make sure you have the hotfix listed under announcements. Love the new weapons, vss and mk17 look just amazing. Anyone interested in a ton of new weapons, ton of vehicles and custom walled off bases, come join us!
  6. OK, to combat the desyncs when we have between 60-80 players, I have split the server into 2 servers, both 50 slots as this is what DayZ can handle. Character data will be the same for both servers, but vehicles and tents will be unique to each server :) We will have dedicated admins for each server :) Enjoy :D

    Why make instanced or underground bases?

    I suppose some sort of security system could be implemented. A key code for the entrance or something that the owners would need to set when they take over would be one option. Invaders would need to either crack the code by trial and error, wait for the owners to be moving in and out then rush them, kidnap a member and, i dunno, hold hem for ransom or try to torture it out of them, or maybe just blow it up the entrance, but would then have a major repair to make as soon as they move in. Just tossing out ideas. I am growing quite fond of the idea of having set "control points" though. I don't think there should be loot spawns there, but the perk of having a highly secure base where you can store your stuff and in some cases vehicles would be a pretty big benefit in and of itself. As for options as to what these locations could be, I'm thinking an underground bunker is a given, but a few other ideas could be some sort of secure military R&D facility with and underground garage and helipad on the roof, a missile silo, a prison, maybe a secure medical research lab where the zombie virus originated (for some reason I don't picture there being any zeds here, as if they would have all moved on.).

    Zombie AI proposal

    I have a suggestion to add on actually, rather than having zombies 'pursue' for 10 seconds for when they hear a noise, they walk/run to the point of origin. As an example, Survivor is behind a wall with a gate nearby with a zombie loitering on the other side of the wall. Survivor breaks out into a run and heads into the house, 'stepping on a twig' near the gate. The zombie turns and walks into the yard, finds nothing and goes back to loitering but stays in the yard within eyesight of the door. Survivor sees the zombie through a window as hes looting the house but is unarmed, so he goes to the door and throws a empty can/bottle out the door and over the wall, hitting a wall across the street, drawing the zombie away, allowing the survivor to sneak/run out. Another Example, Survivor in a UAZ is being chased by bandits on dirtbikes, Survivor speeds into Cherno and gets out of his UAZ without turning off the engine and runs for cover in a building. Bandits stop outside town and park their vehicles in the bush and pursue on foot. All zombies in hearing range of the UAZ are walking to it and staying nearby because of the engine noise and the bandits try thinning out the crowd with silenced weapons to try and get the UAZ. Survivor sneaks up behind the bandits and fires at them, shooting them in the legs with a Lee before running off for one of their bikes while the crippled bandits are being swarmed by zombies from his UAZ and zombies within earshot of his Lee. Yet another example/suggestion: Weapons have 2 different audible ranges, say the 1911 has an audible range of 100m (just for simplicity and the example) Player fires off a few rounds and all zombies within 25m or 50m start running towards his position while all other zombies within 100m start walking to his position.

  11. Hello everyone, I have create a new server and I need alot more people to join. As it is a new server there is hardly no one on the server, yet I am a hard working Admin and have been working on my server for a while now. The things my server includes is: Teamspeak BEC - Battleye Extended Controls Battleye: On Regular messages on server restarts and events. Event such as... eg. Gun shop in church etc Custom-Loadout - (Can be changed) Server restarts from: 12:00 - 2:00 - 4:00 - 6:00 etc Custom bases in very cool detail - (With high loot value) Active Admin Groups Map Chernarus Private Hive - (Only down side) If we can get atleast ten people on my server this would be amazing and would be truly appreated! I could even edit the custom-loot table also if request by alot of players. I REALLY want some PvP action!!     Unable to perform certain actions since patch

    As an update, that method did not work and I think I'm facing a different issue than that. Still unable to refuel any vehicles or provide medical assistance.

  14. Before reading this post, please remember that these are my OPINIONS, and i'm not saying any of this is 100% true or that anything said here is 100% false. This is just what I think. Also before I begin, I would like to say that I think DayZ is a incredibly fun game, and I have spent many items scavenging for Mountain Dew and shooting up bandits. DayZ mod: MY criticism of DayZ mod is that it gets too much credit for what it has done with the ArmA 2 engine. I understand this isn't a problem created by Dean (Rather by the over-hyped fanboys), but it is a problem nevertheless. I have seen far too many people and even professionals call DayZ "One of the best mods of all time". I believe a better fitting title would be "One of the most fun mods of all time." Because compared to other mods for ArmA 2, DayZ has not really done much. The Undead Mod for ArmA 2 had already implemented zombies into the game, and DayZ WAS NOT THE FIRST DYNAMIC ZOMBIE GAMEMODE IN ARMA 2! In Febuary of 2012, about 4-5 months before DayZ mod's release, Craig, a modder for ArmA 2, released DZS (Dyanmic Zombie Sandbox) which was a mission (Not a mod) for ArmA 2 that featured a dynamic zombie apocalypse, with respawning zombies roaming towns, the need to scavenge cars and buildings for weapons, and in later updates the inclusion of food and water, along with hunger and thirst. DayZ Standalone: My criticism for DayZ Standalone is that I feel that it is being rushed, and that BI is not adding enough to the original mod. Why do I say this? Well first, lets look at the features that DayZ Standalone has so far demonstrated, and why I think some are good, and some are just lazy. -"ArmA 2.5" engine (Includes Volumetric clouds and lighting): Although this really is just someone mashing together ArmA 2's engine and ArmA 3's engine, I can understand that creating a entirely new one is really not necessary. -Building Interiors: Probably the most impressive feature of DayZ standalone, although still this wouldn't take much work. Modders for ArmA 2 have made (Without a dev team) entire sets of enterable buildings for custom maps (Celle, Emita, Taviana, ect) and ArmA 2 OA's Takistan had already done this. -New zombie animations: Another one of the more-worked on features of DayZ Standalone, these are looking to be really nice -Clothing models/Changing clothes ability: Already implemented into ArmA 3, it feels as if they have just ripped this out of that -Slightly Altered Chernarus: Really, all they did was flood a small section of the coast (If BI let people modify chernarus like that, modders could have done it in a couple of hours) and copy and paste Utes, the other map that shipped with ArmA 2, onto Chernarus. -Hacker prevention: For DayZ Standalone, this isn't such a big feat. The only reason DayZ Mod is so hackable is because its a MOD (You can look up the technicalities of why that makes it hackable). Vanilla ArmA 2 is much harder to hack and cheat from, and most "Hackers" on Vanilla ArmA 2 servers are just bastards connecting to a server that hasn't enabled sig check with a editing mod or such. I'm sure they have planned more features, but so far their starting lineup doesn't look too good. Remember, this is now a GAME, with a dev team and all the resources BI permits them to use (Considering the mods popularity, I think that is a LOT). I will now list what I think they SHOULD have in DayZ Standalone, although I know its probably too late for them to implement these without a major delay in release. Also, if they have already planned to add some of these, please post in the comments with proof so that you can correct me! :D -New map(s): As the DayZ community has seen, many ArmA 2 modders have been able to develop entirely new and unique ArmA 2 maps with their own custom buildings, complete with interiors and such, all by themselves. So why cant DayZ Standalone give us AT LEAST one new map on release? I expect them to create more maps after release, but as I said before, it feels like they are ripping a lot off of ArmA 2. -New weapons/vehicles: So far DayZ devs have not announced any new weapons or vehicles for DayZ standalone, which leads me to believe they will have the same weapons and vehicles as DayZ mod. I feel that they should add a more "Civilian" weapon and vehicle pack to DayZ standalone, instead of the militaristic ArmA 2 one. -Tons of new gameplay features: IE: fortification, advanced medical system (maybe similar to ACE?), easier ability to find friends/friendlies, dedicated leveling system (maybe based on bandit/hero reputation?), advanced movement system (especially with those new building interiors!), higher server capacity (Since its no longer a mod, Standalone could possibly handle 150+ player servers), mod support (Pretty sure Dean, a modder, will add this, but sort of distressed by the fact it hasn't been confirmed) -Dedicated Website/Forums (Herp derp?): If BI can re-design the ArmA 3 web page in a week, they surely can make a DayZ Standalone one aswell, or at least put DayZ in the BI forums! XD Anyway, that's about it. I don't want to distress people too much, i'm SURE they will add additional content in future updates for Standalone, so do not worry. I just think i'm going to be dissatisfied with the release, but will probably buy it anyway.

  16. I found an awesome custom server today and it has a lot of awesome qualities, and a friendly admin, just needs more of a playerbase :(. They offer an admin run gun store (not npc'd) where you can sell/trade/buy weapons and vehicles and even custom bases for your clan if you get enough credits. It also has a tow and heli lift script which are REALLY nice for getting a vehicle you really want even though you already have one. Admin also says by tommorow they should have auto refuel script at gas stations up and working. Its permanent daytime and has 150+ vehicles and like 6 choppers, the vehicles are at a low amount as well as the starting gear to add realism. Some of the plans the admin said were coming in a few short dayz are: Website, Donator rewards, auto refuel, custom buildings, custom vehicles (osprey) etc). Its using version 1.7.6 (even though dayz commander says differently) if you want to play with us, its been a great server so far. Im informed it has latest antihacks as well.   17. As I read this, I could hear your whiny ass voice in my head and it makes me remember very clearly why i booted you of my squad. Yes, I'm 36. And I whisper because I have sleeping children in the next room. I have to play at night when they are sleeping because during the day. When i read your post, I thought for a second that maybe you might be telling the truth. That Master and Triple OG had left the rest of the meese completely in the dark. But being that you are all close friends who grew up in the same town, and have gamed with each other for years, I simply can't believe they didn't fill you in. I'm going to go ahead and correct something you stated above. After my confession to Master, I did ask Master what he was using. He did not respond like you stated. In fact, I suppose the evidence that I had presented was so indisputable that he barely hesitated when he admitted his and Triple OG's use of the engined based ESP from cheatautomation. He admitted freely that your hacks could see vehicles, people, zeds, crash sites, and loot. Although he only mentioned Triple OG and himself, he used the words "WE" a lot. WE started using it 2-3 weeks ago. WE only did it because WE suspected other hackers on the server. WE, WE, WE. I surmised that even if you and the others had not actually installed the hacks on your computer, you were essentially still using it, albeit it was 2nd hand through your friends. You benefited by getting kills, stealing vehicles, raiding tents, etc. There is absolutely no way to just ban a couple of you. You are all tainted. Oh and it sounds like your dumbass when you believed Master when he told he he didn't admit anything to me. Go look him in his eyes and ask him. If you aren't as dumb as Antman, you'll know the truth. To my fellow Wireworlders, yes it is true, I got a global ban and the meese did not. There is a reason for that. I was using a bypass and I was injecting scripts. My product was from Virtual Advantage. BE detected it and I received a global ban. The meese are using something completely different. They bought there hack from cheatautomation. It doesn't inject scripts and at present, it has been successful avoiding BE detection. However, it is just a matter of time. They've been down ever since the BE update a couple of days ago trying to make their latest adjustment. If you are even tinkering with the idea of doing it, I'll tell you after my experiences that it simply isn't worth it. Look Meese. Be on your way. Your last posts out make you look pathetic. You are leaving like the crying, pitiful souls who came in. You got pwned when you first got here. And you got pwned on your way out. When I heard Papa got three of you at once last night, I was very pleased. To the rest of the Wireworld server, feel free to hit me up anytime on the server if you'd like to discuss my one day hacking adventure. I can guarantee you that after you talk to me, you will walk away with zero doubt that it all turned out for the best. Bottom line, a clan of exploiters is out and we have our server back.

    Reinforcements is British Armed Forces and Private Military Contractor right? I think both of thous slightly add better resolution to character models and a couple vehicles. But not needed for DayZ

    KoS, an examination

    For crying out loud... That's like saying DayZ is forcing a certain playstyle on people because there are zombies in the game. If you got killed by zombies (be it glitch or no glitch) you wouldn't rage on sidechat too much about it. You know it was your fault, you accept it and you learn from it right? Why can't players come to realize that there are more threats in the game besides zombies? How come a zombie gets away with murder that easily but a player doesn't? I will give you this much though. I too wish there was less KoS, especially on unarmed players. I wish there where more players who sought battles, who would punish me and everybody else for killing an unarmed player as their mission. But that's not going to happen and for one solid reason (IMHO) and that is most players just don't want to do PvP against other well armed players because it's a "risk" to them. Another side reason (as i have touched on many times) is that most players just don't know how to PvP to begin with and it doesn't matter if they have a makarov or an AS50 or even a helicopter... They will not become good at PvP if all they do all day long is hang out in the middle of nowhere on empty servers playing the farm gear and vehicles game. Plain and simple then, the prominent reason you get KoS with no gear is because you are too god damn bad to be allowed to live on. And most of these people that I have let go i have never seen again because they spend every minute of every day out in the middle of nowhere collecting gear and setting up tents and take up server bandwidth and performance playing farming simulator in DayZ. You know as well as i do that when the community starts making no-PvP servers they will be filled with players who are too damn lazy to learn from their mistakes and then there will be more servers like this to allow more of these carebears to fit on them. And the other servers will become less populated as a result so now more players who are indifferent to the PvP aspects of DayZ will join the now full servers just to have other players around. Finally the community have succeeded in killing DayZ as most players get bored and move on. Especially those that complained the most about KoS.
