First say than English is not my first language and maybe my used expressions can be wrong. So im sorry for my possible mistakes. This post is aimed both DayZ as for standalone mod. I personally find Z Day as a simulator. A simulator of a zombie apocalypse. The idea of this, for me its a dream fulfilled. This game is fucking realistic. But, when you play some hours, you feel a extrange sensation. The sensation of think: And now what the hell i can do? Its the sayed "End of the game". But i have some ideas to solve this problem. Based on the idea base of DayZ (simulate a zombie apocalypse), i think than one of the most important parts is the refuges. Houses, farms, improved campaments, prisons, little towns, etc. The idea is to clean a little and isolated place and make fortificactions. Next, in this place you can put loot, vehicles, etc. It would be interessing to improve small clinics,workshops, etc. This idea, in part, is linked to another idea. This can be blamed for many of you, but it will make the game lot of more interesant and realistic. The idea is that, the players, need to go sleep to go back of the server. This system would provide many possibilities to the project. Edit: When i say to sleep, im refering than the survivor dont disappears when the player left de server unless the survivor remains sleeping in the ground, in a sleeping bag, in a tent, or in a bed until the player returns. I know that is very easy to suggest ideas and making them is another matter, but I think this changes can be crucial to the project. A lot of thanks for your time reading this! I'm going to make this strait to the point 1) Ability to take parts off other working vehicles.... why? Because, when you think about it your driving by find another car with all working parts but missing a engine and is better then you car you should be able to switch parts right? And to make it balanced when you say take parts off some can be broke like a popped tire or something.2) Collecting Scrap Metal on crash/prop cars with a new tool say a metal cutter? or what not.... why? scrap metal is easy to find when you don't have a vehicle or maybe its just me but when you do have a vehicle its impossible to find. also it would make since to be able to somewhat strip a vehicle of parts like i said in number 13) Cars barely running into a object = explosion Fix.... why? OK, I barely tap a prop on the road and explode but when i full speed hit something the car is fine shouldn't that be switched?4) Ability to Drink, Eat, Take pills, Etc..., in Vehicles.... why? No Brainer i don't like getting out of a car with zombies following me to eat something or drink something when in real like you can just grab a soda and chow down inside a carWant me to add your suggestion just right a reply to this topic :/

Guys lets be a little more welcoming to our non english speaking brethren. I dont mock you as you dont speak Esperanto/Klingon etc. It would be nice to be able to siphon fuel from vehicles. I'm sure it's been mentioned before but i'd like to see it in game. either in the mod or the SA. Rgds LoK

Hi Ersan and Team. I just wanted to quickly say "Thank You" for providing such a great service to the gaming community. I chose to cancel my DayZ.st server today not because I was unhappy (quite the opposite) but because I am just playing other games at the moment. When DayZ standalone comes out I will likely come back. Your service consumed hours of my time tweaking and editing missions, spawning vehicles etc... and rewarded me with hours and hours of fun! So Thanks Again! -

In the SA the city's will have more of a feel that the military and the civilian population gave a fight ,but why are the vehicles all rusted and tanks destroyed? I mean the rusted vehicles look like they belong in the 2017 version. It has been what 1-2 weeks since the infection went full scale. I say this because of the blood being fresh. Back to the vehicles they should have it like in the Walking Dead with a few cars on the highway like the city's were evacuated and zombies walking around the vehicles. As for the destroyed HMMWVs they should have some of them flipped and some on their side. The tanks should be STATIC like hatches closed and dead bodies on them with gun still in hands. In the hospitals their should be a lot of hull casings from bullets and dead bodies like the military put them down. -

So, I've got over 300 vehicles on my Chernarus server. They've all been hand placed in the 3D editor. When I look in my control panel at the vehicles on the server, most don't have loot in them. Is there a way to increase the chances of loot spawning in the vehicles because right now it's apparently VERY low.

I never asked about them changing the ping limit. I can find a few aussie servers that I can play on. Just when my friend wants to play with me, HE gets kicked for ping. I already made a suggestion for adding the ping limit to the server info screen or multi-national parties. But you can't see it because of this god-awful system of only the most contested of ideas being pushed to the front page all the time. I've got a suggestion for that, too. I've already pointed in a 'wtf is wrong with the people who don't like new cans?' thread that repairing cars in ten seconds, stuffing tires, rotor assemblies, engines, and windshield glass into your backpack is FAR more immersion breaking than a can of Herpy Dooves Canned Muffins. And to the crux of the issue, AGAIN, you insinuate that this inconveniences me. Why don't you listen to yourself? Oh, you're just saying this because you were inconvenienced'. You know how many times I've looted my previous body? NEVER. FUCKING NEVER. CAPS FOR EMPHASIS. Never. Not ONCE have I returned to where I died. Why? Because I really don't die that often. And when I do, I'm an hour inland! What's the point of going after my previous body when I can just as easily find shit on the way there that is equal in effectiveness? When I die, it's always to zombies. And no matter what loot I lose, I'm good enough at DayZ that I can find a new primary weapon and a pistol WHEREVER. Sniper rifle lost? So what. Plenty of crash sites to loot. Bandits to hunt. I don't need a sniper rifle to be deadly. Because I'm smarter than my prey. But you can't seem to understand that even though I don't need it, I can still make suggestions for betterment of the game. Are my words registering yet? Can you get past this mental stumbling block you have where you can't even understand the basic premise of an argument? I can understand why, here of all places, you would think that the majority of people are QQing crybabies who want the game easier for them. But seriously. Listen. What is your argument against it? Oh, I like being able to hide loot, and why scale down something and not something else. First, the loot. As I said many times previously, the standalone will have degradating items. You could DESTROY them. Not just hide them away magically, but physically destroy them so they can't be used. But you wouldn't be able to destroy the body, which is much heavier evidence of bandit activity nearby. It's a cue to players who find that body, that something happened there. Even if all the gear is GONE and DESTROYED. And the other argument. The 'omg why scale down this and not everything else?' That is the stupidest argument ever. So, we're not increasing the realism of EVERYTHING at once, so we shouldn't increase the realism AT ALL in ANY area? Probably the only reason why I don't have anything to say about vehicles and helicopters is because I don't use them. I run everywhere because it's quieter and I can't get my shit stolen by someone who just happens upon my vehicle. Because I left the keys in the car, apparently. Should I make a thread where I suggest fixing every unrealistic POS thing this mod has in it, that could be being addressed already? So that people can pick and choose what to whine about? Okay, fine. Engine blocks should have be placed on a series of pullies, or pulled on a sled dragged by no less than four people. They should be separated into the different piston sizes, fuel tank sizes, etc etc. Differentiate them based on CC amounts, fuel used. Allow modding kits for manual or automatic transmissions. When placing the engine into a car, we will need a full workshop, with a crane for holding the engine block in place while it's lowered into the car. And if you get the wrong engine size, too bad. Fuel tank parts should require at least two people to carry them. They shouldn't be cross-compatable unless you take a course in mechanics beforehand. Fuel stations should always be empty to simulate the fact that no fuel production facilities work any more. Leaking fuel tanks should always leave a trail of gasoline behind the vehicle in question that can be set on fire with matches. Weapons should explode in your hands the moment you fire them to simulate being left out in the weather for years on end without any servicing. Military areas should be completely picked clean. Ammunition should have a high base rate of failure. Weapons that DO fire should jam all the time to simulate lack of servicing. Stepping out of deer stands should result in jarring your legs rather than breaking them. Breaking your legs should result in being unable to walk for six to eight weeks to allow your legs to heal. Firing the AS50 or M107 while standing should make your character either fall over or take a step backwards. Flying a helicopter should only be available after your character has had a 'crash course' in flying by a legitimate instructor who knows how to fly one. Otherwise, your character should ditch it into the ground no matter what you do with your keyboard. Your survivor should get lonely at times. Masturbate. Urinate. Defecate. Go slowly insane without company. Be scared of the dark. Wet himself when zombies are approaching. Get the shakes at random times due to malnutrition. He should run HALF the speed he currently runs to simulate the fact that he's not a long-distance athlete and that normal people don't move that fast in the first place. Running on a full stomach should lead to cramps. Drinking soda should lead to dehydration. Swimming should be impossible based on the weight of your weapons and gear. Backpack space should be based on mass and not weight or slots. You should have to take a bath every week or the infected start to smell you. You should lose stamina rapidly when wearing a ghillie suit. Grass should be rendered at every distance so that player characters don't stand out so much. Doors should have to be kicked in or broken open if you want any chance of finding loot inside. Snipers should have to take courses in ballistics before being able to use a sniper rifle properly. Suppressors should only work effectively with matching subsonic ammunition. Standing pools of water should be stagnant and undrinkable. Clothing should get bloody if you get injured and stay bloody. Wounds should have to be cauterized or tended to by a legitimate doctor or someone trained in first aid to stop bleeding. Your character should have a 0.00001 chance of just falling over dead from an aneurism, cancer, vitamin deficiency, or random ailment at any time. Oh, and don't let me forget that you shouldn't be able to make a body disappear into the ether in five seconds in the middle of a runway. Are you happy yet?

Everybody wants to help, but nobody actually needs it. What a great community it is. Have you ever thought of mercenary service? Like security, protection, defending camps, making raids, capture stolen vehicles and stuff.

If I already had a weapon that I liked, sure I'd hide a body with an AS50 or similar on it. I always hide bodies just to make sure that the person can't run back and claim any of their gear. Saying that it should take over a minute to complete the action when you don't mention repairing vehicles, filling fuel tanks or any other actions that are massively scaled down for the purposes of DayZ seems a bit ridiculous to me. It's like you're just picking the one that inconveniences you... Instead of expecting the devs to remove ping limits, do you not think you'd be better off contacting the admin from a couple of Aus servers, explaining your situation and asking nicely if they could possibly up their ping limit? Having people running around with 200+ ping really drags down everyone else's experience, unfortunately, and I definitely think server owners should definitely have the right to set a max ping.

Did you give him the real server files? Because the version he's been running today doesn't work the same as the one I've been spending my time watching on the streams and on youtube. NPC's don't work right... one wholesaler/trader NPC refused to trade due to low humanity even though humanity was at +2500 - so no ability to purchase vehicles or a safe... and the server owner had no clue what humanity would be high enough to get the NPC to trade, the food/clothing NPC doesn't work at all - so no buying or selling anything there either. You can buy and sell guns and ammo... that's it. I got the impression from videos I've seen that there are instances where metal bars spawn - not so on this server, so you'll have to smelt everything. Many BE kicks occurring, that he is fixing on the fly... he's playing catch up. I suppose if the mod creator doesn't mind an inferior version of his mod being out there, who am I to argue. But, despite the fact that the mod creator has given his okay, if he isn't using the official server files, I think folks should know this isn't the same version as what you see being played on the test servers... it's a pale shadow. -
Why make instanced or underground bases?

Nobody was ever talking about having base maintenance like it used to be in the mod, where you could place barricades and other junk on the ground to block people off. The barricading mechanic would work in such a way, that for example a door in a pre-existing cottage has 3 states, open, closed and barricaded. For the door to be barricaded one has to find a hammer, boards and nails, Then use those on the door and voila, it's barricaded. No junk on the ground causing lag and annoying people. This is only an example of how one could barricade a smaller cottage building that is somewhere off in the woods. The bigger ones, like hangars and larger car shops and stuff have electronic locks. That means the power station in Elektro (or somewhere else) has to be fixed, powered on and maintained to make these doors and other equipment inside work again. This other equipment could include a hoist in a car/boat/helicopter shop in Cherno, which would have to be used to switch engines or rotor assemblies. Fixing vehicles is too easy and not very authentic at the moment, so making these pre-existing structures a part of the fixing process would add to the challenge and authenticity. When is the last time you saw someone lifting a rotor assembly on a chopper with no help from a machine? Essentially these specific buildings would be like the guns and vehicles in the SA, with fixable, static (as in non-placeable = not annoying/game breaking) parts and equipment, that deteriorate over time as they are used, and have to be maintained. This would of course not apply to all buildings(too much work). Just have a few larger ones with an obvious function, like a car shop/helicopter hangar, in the major cities/military bases and and a few smaller cottages around the map. Another one could be a radio station with fixable broadcasting equipment (for all those people who have been asking for a car radio). -
Base building is for wasteland... maybe tents, lean-to's, camo-netting for vehicles, but not bases... I personally think thats taking it a little over the top.

Um if we are talking about vehicles then I think it would be cool if cars had different tire sizes, so not every tire fits every car. -

Laughing Man is genuinely a moron if he believes this guy won't abuses his powers again. I don't think TLM is a moron, I think he knows this guy and doesn't want to accept the facts. I've been in a situation exactly the same as this and the owner of the server kept saying it wouldn't happen again, that the guy would stop abusing his powers. Guess what? He didn't. You never need the ability to spawn in hack crates, spawn in vehicles, god mode, invisibility, or admin map. God mode and invisibility will always be abused, so will spawning shit in. Admin map is useless, I never caught one guy teleporting, since you have to be looking at your map the exact time he does it. You say that you're looking into it, but have you unbanned the OP. from what I've read, he was banned unjustly for no reason. Again, I doubt you will do anything about this and I feel bad for the people who play on your server. You've even got him to change his name. You are the type of person that sickens me. Take some action and stop being a pansy. -
New Server with very unique features (Car stripping, siphoning, towing, etc)

Me and few friends have started up a couple DayZ servers open to everyone. The first Chernarus is 24/7 daylight most of the time. Friendly active admins, we did add more vehicles spawns but not 5000. Auto refuel, and my favorite Custom Faces. 67.228.177.77:3187 The second is a Taviana.com server 24/7 daylight most of the time. Base building scenario of what would come if implemented into Dayz with other tools/features With instanceing in base building Im thinking of if a clan could make a thriving economy on there server involving stuff like bases aircraft, one huge ship that spawns on the map and trains. Ok so firstly this big clan sorts out the power supply and fuel required for the ship,trains and underground tradeing centre. Secuirty on the trains,ship and tradeing centre are player controlled and with Dogs. People can use a in game computer to write stuff like maybe a log of what items people entered the base with and that person collects there stuff when they leave and a tradeing database, also cctv to observe what goes on in the base and to check if people steal stuff or if they get attacked. Ok now this clan can trade with people and fix people up who are hungry,thirsty and hurt, and they trade animals,vehicles/aircraft and loot. To transport this stuff they load the stuff to train and vehicles/aircraft that are somehow connected to the tradeing centre. Now this clan delivers the goods around cherno at different docks and if SA add islands there could be docks were this huge ship can carry these goods and travel accross to these islands and also helicopters wich can airlift stuff and planes could have landing spots on these islands. Ok so thats small suggestion of a player controlled economy for severs if base building and other tools are added into Dayz the possibility are endless!
