There's a very good chance there wont be any vehicles at release as they are aiming to completely redo the whole vehicle system, however in an interview today Rocket did say they are considering releasing with the old arma2 vehicles and then changing them at a later date. I haven't seen anything about whether or not heli's will be in the game. But remember, the standalone will be released as an alpha, this means that many planned features Will be missing to start with, and those that are in may very well be broken. -

I disagree. Bohemia games all look the same with just different elements and that is their proven track record. If you think Take on helicopters is leaps and bounds over Arma II then... well, I guess you've been fooled. It's nearly the same exact game with a few different elements. Day Z will be no different. Though having the same feel as Arma II isn't bad like I said, as long as the game is optimized and completely eradicates the major problems of Arma II/Dayz Mod. It also needs a ton of content as they've already confirmed having ripped most of the content from the game. (Weapons, Vehicles, etc.) It's only going to take a few hours to get a feel of the standalone once we have it, so there definitely needs to be a large amount of content from launch or else it'll be the same ole... Lets find guns and go shoot people, which can be fun but just hoping for more from the game. The problem forum mods and Bohemia has with this leaked footage is it gives Day Z a really bad rap, because it simply looks awful, and we get to see the truth behind all these months of development. All the footage i've seen has included all the latest things from the Dev blogs, so honestly the builds can only be a couple weeks old at worst. Considering the closed alpha was launched, I am pretty sure someone from that group leaked the data files and that is what we are seeing. -

I think rocket already confirmed that there are no plans for Helicopters to be included in the SA. They don't even have vehicles ready for the Alpha release, which is a major disappointment, imho. -

I agree, I died by crashing a tractor in to a tree at roughly 5kmph a few days ago, and a few days before that I miraculously survived the explosion caused by a van becoming stuck on one of those black body bags in the road. IMO engine damage should only cause the vehicle to be immobilised unless it's a big crash. I'd also like to see visible body damage to vehicles, but that's another story. -

So it's been a while since i played, i just reinstalled it and decided to play again after reviewing a few of the latest patches. I just opened Sixplayer and got quite confused, i see a lot of servers with +300 vehicles, Sniper on spawn, ... I do wonder, are these private, changable servers? Where are the main servers where everything is 100% legit etc? Can anyone inform me about how this works?

There are more private servers than official public servers, search and you can find them or see the private server section for vanilla servers. Private servers can do what they want, 100's of vehicles of any type, starting gear, AI/NPC and much more. Good servers do exist :) just need to look and favorite them when you find them.

Use dayz commanders. You can choose if you want to see only private / public servers. The 300+ vehicles servers are usually private servers that are customized to fit the players needs. There's a some vanilla dayz private servers though, since private hives usually have better hacker protection.

I can't as i haven't found it myself. The major features are that you scavenge some materials and build a house, second are some custom Mad-Max-Vehicles. Before you do this, you have to gain humanity as Hero or loose it to become a Bandit. And this is the second advantage, most people try to become heros, so only a few bandits will KOS. Even this is imho more realistic as a server full of serial killers. You just need to download and copy the @... folder, then let DayZCommander do the rest. Don't read too much about it, keep the suspense...

Just the basic feeling, the atmosphere. Post-apocalypse, zombies, old school FFA PvP sandbox world. Right off the bat, that is what got me. What has me playing now, in DayZ Origins, is base building, more vehicles, etc. The stuff that will actually keep clans playing. I know neither will be in SA at the start, but I hope it gets added fast. -

Having played a few different ones, I like Taviana the best. It's big and great for vehicles, which is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game for me. -

The scripts we have so far; Auto Refuel: I always found having to put 50+ Jerry Cans into Helicopters a little bit tedious in Dayz which is why we decided to add this script to our server. Scrapping parts: I've seen this on a few servers and it works very well within the Dayz world, however some vehicles tend to be left abandoned by this script so we've decided as a group to respawn 'dead' vehicles after 3 days of completer stripping. Removal of Rubble: This is a rare script on many server I've visited since I started playing. The script removes unwanted rubble from the game (ATC at NWAF for example) it also makes roads a lot more accessible and actually helps with FPS problems. Well this is not a rant thread about wanting to remove something because its overpowered(still a rant) but rather a collection of opinion on what features of the mod is killing realism. I'm not talking about extreme mega ultra hardcore realism like perma-death but rather things that are just silly to have and do in a zombie apocalypse or just real life in general. (Note: Some of this are probably gonna be fixed/ removed on the standalone but we are just talking about the mod as it currently is). /Rant/ Here are somethings that really kills it for me: -.50 cals I know this is being fixed but really? Is it really possible for a civilian to use an extremely powerful weapon with extreme efficiency just to hunt unarmed people on the beach?._. -Flyable helicopters Same issues as a 50. cal, is everybody in Chernarus a pilot now? -Unlimited stamina Pretty much speaks for itself, in the mod, we can sprint like Usain Bolt for hours without tiring. -Humanity system Hurr durr, I killed someone, a towel and a baclava will automatically be put over my head so I will be an automatic target for anyone with a brain._. -Blood bags In the mod, I can find un-refrigerated blood bags, use it without facing risks of infections and boom, back to normal, I'm automatically healthy. -Third person Oh someone is shooting at me? Better use my astral projection power shit so I can see behind my physical body and be able to find my hunter easily without risks of being shot._. -Lack of animals I guessed most of them are abducted by aliens since most of them doesn't even leave a corpse behind. -Lack of vehicles(not necessarily working ones) This just means one thing, many people escaped the apocalypse with their vehicles, if that's the case, then why are there so many freaking infected people everywhere? I can imagine, the panic caused by the outbreak would create traffic jams everywhere especially in the cities. -Cities are too safe I know if shit hits the fan, the city will be the number 1 thing/hazard to stay away from, due to you know, its large population which the majority of is most likely infected? But the opposite seems to happen in DayZ. When spawned, most people automatically sprints towards the city to kill each other when in fact, the complete opposite would've happened in real life. -No knock-back effects when shot It doesn't automatically means, you die instantly when shot unless hit on a vital part like the head. But its just annoying to see survivors being shot yet only blood spurts seems to indicate that. Any guns with higher ammunition than a 9mm should be able to make you fall, first shot even if you're in the strongest body armor due to the impact. -Lack of gore Yup blood spurts, come on! real wounds/bulletshot are more brutal than that, especially high caliber guns. Not necessarily GodOfWar level of brutality. Something like VBS2 2.02 would be great(Been suggested on another thread and I'm really fond of it). /Rant over/ I guess this is very demanding for some, but really, unrealistic things just don't fit into a game where you use the stars to navigate and has frequently been regarded as a "Zombie apocalypse simulator" or an anti-game.

Yeah, i see vehicles all the time in woods and in towns, you guys even took the time to place them behind houses and hide them a bit so you need to actualy look for them. Great. Shows you realy care about this server, not like many others that are dead. -
EPIC DAYZ ip: 192.31.185.203:3255 This server is located in Los Angeles and is hosted by www.dayz.st (and they do a great job). There is protection against DDoS attack and the server is very stable. The scenario is that your character was bow-hunting when the outbreak began. You have laid low until you spawn on the coast. You currently spawn in with "Hunting Gear". A donation website rewards server donations with a gift. Make a donation and receive vehicles, gear, aircraft, or even a protective dome over your base that lets you in (but keeps others out). The donation website is http://www.payitsqua...lect-page/13228 The server has been modified to spawn 400+ vehicles instead of the default number of 35. Therefore, you have a much better chance of finding vehicles in this server. Auto Refuel at gas stations was recently added. Also, the helicopter crash sites are animiated. An animated crash site means that you will see the helicopters flying (piloted by AI) until it reaches it's designated crash site. As the helicopter reaches the designated crash site, it explodes (while still in the air) and crashes to the ground. However, if any player shoots down the helicopter before it reaches the designated crash site, then the helicopter will explode and crash where it was shot down by the player. Once shot down, the helicopter crash site spawns the same loot and weapons as it would have if it had reached it's designated crash site. So, shoot those helos down and grab the loot! This is a real world scenario, so there is both day and night. Nights are always full-moon, so visabilty is pretty good. The houses in towns are lit at night, if the power grid is working (spooky). A debug monitor and player positon indicator on the in-game map are also enabled. Base Building is available on the server if you have the parts needed (sandbags, tank traps, wire fencing kits, grenades, or scrap metal). Also, you will find a bridge between the mainland and Skalisty Island that you can drive across (PBX still can travel underneath it). Driving in this server is fun because the trash and car wrecks have all been removed from the roads. Player Vs. Player is allowed. You will find that the majority of the players are friendly and most of the bandits are hunted down and killed or so alienated that they quit visiting the server. There are many regular players who have set up camps and are cautiously willing to help out players that are new to the server. Many players have teamed up and are looking for others to join their groups. Some of the players have set up camps where they store their gear and vehicles. Perhaps you might get lucky and stumble across a camp full of goodies? The admin of the server, EpicZ, plays nightly and will bring the ban hammer down on hackers and players who refuse to obey the few rules. EpicZ is also willing to assist new players and answer the frequent "How do you..." questions. Server rules: "Be polite and mature. No cry babies." Server restarts every 6 hours to spawn fresh vehicles and helicopter crash sites. Several warnings are given before the server restarts. I began playing in early November and after a couple hack attacks on the public hives I began searching for a private hive to call home. I tried several others and never found a fit until I joind BMRF #2. It's first person, no waypoint, no peripheral dot setup had me hooked. If that wasn't enough I had an intense experience on my second or third night of play. I was running lone wolf up north searching for vehicles and was on my way back into Berezino for parts. It was pitch black and I had no NVGs so I'm running through the woods by compass alone when I hear a chopper. Being not only alone but a purely non hostile player I promptly hit the dirt and watch the silhouette of a Huey fly directly overhead. Just as I'm getting up I hear an Mi-17 come in following the Huey. It however does not fly by. I'm laying prone looking back toward the sound and can just make out the edge of te dust cloud it is creating when I hear a loud whine followed by an explosion. Suddenly my little patch of forest is lit up like day. I'm loaded out with med gear and figure they must have hit a tree so I go in shouting this over direct. I circle the wreckage and don't see any bodies so I'm about to bug out when I see a chute above the tree line. I ask if he needs assistance once more. Getting no response I figure its time to go. I couldn't have been more right. Fire erupts from the south in steady bursts followed by a second set of shots from the north. Both sets are too close for comfort so I head east. As I do I here fire from the direction of the paratrooper and the fire from the south ceases. Then the paratrooper fires another burst and the fire from the north ceases. I am still bugging out saying "I'm not looking for any trouble man, I'll be on my way" when a third burst from our flying madman takes me down. All I hear as I die is "I don't want to hear it." I was hooked. -

So after getting bored with all the private hives with 400000000000 vehicles and starting with a mk mod and coyotee backpack, I took a break from dayz for 3 or so months. I heard about the mod of a mod of a mod of a mod - Mega modception. Well anyways, the mod I chose was Breaking point. Starting with a tazer reminded me a lot of the original dayz, I.E. starting with the makarov, both weapons are just as useful to you as a floppy dildo in a gun fight. But I figured it could be useful for taking people hostage. And one thing I will admit, they where right at making things a bit harder, I found a hardcore server (Pretty freakin populated I might add, 30+ ppl) So first person only made me happy :D I started my adventure in....god damnit....KKKKKAAAAMMMEEEEEENNNNKAAA!!!!! Hehe, I started my walk up to Zelenogorsk and got a sks a semi auto rilfe that seemed pretty accurate. Great I had my defensive weapon and a halfway decent backpack. I gathered some food and supplies and began my trek up to Stary Sobor. After entering the city I ran I spotted a pretty well armed group held up in the grocery store picking up food with a MTVR(Armored Ural) out front. The first thought that crossed my mind was to grab the truck and run. That was my intention until I seen the rocket launcher on the back of their "Spec ops" cammoed marksman. I sat outside watching and started hearing one of them talk, I got closer so that I could hear, one of their members had their mic button the same button on the game and their VOIP. From what i could tell atleast, And from what I gathered from what he was saying they had a base (From the coords he said) North east of Devils castle. As I was about to leave and start heading up there to raid it I got a better Idea. Most of their guys where wearing terrorist clothing (Which i had got a set earlier as well) I decided I would mingle in their group and hope they wouldn't notice me. As they all began piling into their MTVR I fell inline like I was one of them. I even helped in a fire fight that they got into whilst on the road. After riding in the truck for 20+ minutes I was getting a little bored till I realized were we where going. AS they pulled up to their base I almost crapped myself. Seeing as how Breaking point uses the community base building addon, these people had built a wastelands worthy base. Guard towers, Mg's, a couple depot's, and many other things that looked scary :P I seriously doubt a single group could assault this place and survive...........From the outside :P As we pulled up to the gate I expected one to get out to open the gate, But i was wrong. someone on the inside did it for them, and after closer inspection all three of the MG nests in the guard towers where manned. Holy crap I was think I am gonna die. After getting inside I wandered around a bit without anyone caring I was there. I went to their weapons crates (You can find empty crates that you can move and use to store your gear instead of tents) and loaded myself up with everything I would need and figured Id just hop in their armored SUV and leave but I felt like causing some hell first. I ran up to one of the guard towers and used my starter tazer and tazzed one of the guards and hopped down and hid in a depot. When the guard got back up their teamates lit hit up thinking it was me I guess. Well not they're on alert, and It's obvious that they're KOS douche's. I jumped in their armored suv and got on the minigun and lit up everyone In sight killing 8 members of their team (Couldn't find the other 5) and used their ramp to jump out of their base and take off with their suv which i found was loaded with food and medical supplies out the wazoo. Ok DAYZ I win, now what? [Ruthless] - That was a fun time guys, You guys may wanna keep an eye out for random guys falling into your lineups hehe :P If you managed to read through my terrible grammer, spelling and like my story thanks for reading :D That has defiantly brought back my favorite thing about DAYZ. Hello My name is Zecele, i'm recruiting for the DayZ clan Hellsing's. We are currently a small clan as i have just left my old clan to start my own. We are looking for mature players to join our clan. We are from UK/EU but we have recently had a few international members join. Below will be a list of the rules and regulations. 1. What are/is Hellsing's. Hellsing's are a UK-based group which aims for co-operative play in the world of dayz. This group is all about using violence to accomplish its goals so any players that are looking to kill a lot of survivors/bandits this is were the fun is. 2. What are some Benefits to being is Hellsing's? The ability to trade equipment with other clan members. Having support from other members such as medical supplies, ammo, backup etc. Also when its available access to the clans supplies, stores etc. Also the higher the rank the better equipment you will receive from me personally so you dont have to worry about giving your own gear away. 3. What are the groups goals? Hellsing's main goal is to become one of the most feared/respected clans in all of chernarus. In otherwords this clan is all about being the bad guy and therefore the main focus of this clan is for everyone to have fun. This clan is aiming to have a max of 15-30 members so not to large. 4. How are we going to achieve these goals? One simple way brute force. We will use force to control towns, villages etc. This will raise the knowledge of our clan (hopefully) so that players will learn to avoid us. 5. What is being a member of Hellsings like? We want all want are members to have fun. This means that you can play whenever you want, however you want. We do not want the clan to get in the way of your real life. 6. How does the clan play in-game? In-game the clan is well organized. Depending on how many player's are on at a time e.g. groups will usually be a max of 4 or 6 so if there are 8 players online then there would be 2 groups of 4 and so on. Obviously we will still talk and chat like normal there isnt going to be any ordering people around or any "sir" bullshit. 7. Requirements for joining the clan (Below) Must be 18 or older.. We do not accept any d/cs, hackers or server hoppers. Must have played the game preferably for atleast a month or for more than a week at the least. Must know the Chernarus map and were the the main loots spots are. Must have skype or teamspeak preferably both. 8. How do i join this clan. Simple leave a comment below.
