PRIVATE HIVE Server Location - Washington DC Server restarts every 3 hours. (of course there are heads up messages) map - Chernarus Timezone offset = GMT-12 SERVER PERKS - 300+ vehicles (10+ flyable heli) - increased Heli Crashes - (10+) - Full moon Nights - Custom buildings (added more barracks, hospitals, industry buildings, etc) The following server settings are on/off name plates - off 3rd person view - on veteran - on crosshair - on deathmessages - on We also have Active admins that are usually in the server 24/7. Rules to be followed - No cheating - No glitch exploiting - No malicious chat - No racism (racism results in an immediate, permanent ban, NO EXCEPTIONS) - No voice over Side Chat, text only - Comfirmed Combat Logging results in a 48 hour ban, repeat offenders will receive a perma ban (Combat Logging is forcing your game to close (disconnecting) whilst in a fire fight/under enemy fire) - No gloating/whining WE ALWAYS PLAY FAIR ON THIS SERVER! We are a clan that will never abuse admin powers. we check combat logs frequently. We are all respectful and mature enough to know from right and wrong.   2. As long as I can play somehow there is no need to blow off steam. I like the thrill when you notice that there is someone else near you or when there is a shootout...regardless of how it ends. Often when I died and had to respawn I found some tents or vehicles on my way and turned out to be a good thing. ...and if someone steals from you or kills you...it's just bits and bytes...

    My point is not that there shouldn't be Military Assault Rifles or Sniper Rifles, but instead of M4s, M16s, AS50s, L85s, ... there should be these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Russian_weaponry All the American, British, etc ... Weapons exist in the Mod because it's based on ArmA, in which the backstory is the intervention of foreign forces in Chernarus. The same counts for Humvees. They are American vehicles, without american presence, those wouldn't be in Chernarus. The point is, that the backstory of DayZ has to be determined. And there are many factors. A lot of questions have to be answered by the devteam to make an immersive game, not just 'put that in because it's cool'. The main question would be if the history of the country is the same as in ArmA. Is it after/during the events of ArmA, the 'civil war'? Or is it an alternate reality, where nothing special happens besides the infection? Is the country heavily militarized? Is it comparable to todays CZ or rather Cold-War Russia? Are the military bases central important locations which hold a majority of soldiers in the country? Or only small outposts, remains of the cold war, training facilities...? Is the infection happening only in this Area or in whole Chernarus or the whole world? Are there forces from outside of 'the map' to help fight? Or are they gone from the Area to defend larger, more important locations elsewhere? Are there foreign forces? Or do other countries have to fight against the threat themselves? We know that there are no military forces left (alive) in the Area. Why? Is it in lockdown or did the military fail everywhere? Did they retreat from the Area or did they 'all' die? Did they evacuate their bases or leave them? Did they take their stuff with them or leave whole armories behind? etc etc ... That's exactly what's not true. Not because 'it exists', means that it's realistic/authentic/immersive to have it in the game. If the game is intended to be as immersive and realistic as possible, there needs to be some coherence to the countrys history, the situation and the infection. Not 'a bit of this and a bit of that'.

    Will take a while to implement the vehicles in-game, for sure. However, it would be a fresh of breath air to not see the [MAX VEHICLE] tag on servers for a while...
  6. NO WHITELIST! Our server is basically 1-2 days old! , Meaning most of the vehicles in the map, are at the original positions! We are working on a website which will be giving a re-ward system in it. 25 hours active = Car 60 hours active = Heli These are just some suggestions, We will have more idea soon!   8. DayzPriv Player manager is a lightweight rcon type tool that allows you to connect to your private hive servers and manage players inventory and even teleport them to other players or vehicles.     Why is DayZMod still marked as "Alpha"?

    Boiling water, different types of meat, infection from drinking dirty water, zombies attacking vehicles, backpack tweaks. Development hasn't stopped, and bugs are still being fixed. Not sure what the OP is going on about.

    Whilst a good idea, I think the fallout from memorizing locations over time and transforming new camping locations. I think you would see major damage occuring in these areas before you were able to get the vehicles into the proper locations. It would become safer to just leave the vehicles in the woods.
  12. All the 4 servers were fully populated before, but now people have left and gotten bored.. Servers have become more empty. That's why i'm asking that any squad, clan , or lonewolf looking for a server, checkout zombies.nu www.zombies.nu, Whitelist, Custom Mod "Dayzero". Loads of tweaks to counter lag, servers dont lag or delay when 50 folk on. ENJOY! For quality Dayz! A PvP server, not 1 of those servers with 500+ vehicles.. Since that's bs. The playerbase is quite skilled so don't be amazed if you die a lot.

    I didn't know this was a point and click game! Frick, all this time i've been working hard to aim and hit my target. Guess I just need to one of those guns and point it at someone and bam! I win! I've been doing it the hard way all this time.... /facepalm So servers with tons of vehicles running around, some with tanks, some with chinooks heli's, some with apache's, some with Humvee's with .50's on the back, has no reason for M107's or AS50's?

    If you think the high end sniper weapons like the AS50/M107 should be found in the SA, you are thinking about this all wrong. Remember, its not a coventional war being fought here, the enemy doesnt have vehicles or even weapons so why would anti material weapons need to be at FOB's? The military bases would have been set up to deal with casualties and refugees and while there would of course be weapons, there would be nothing which wasn't anti-infantry. Sniper rifles would be there, but special forces gear wouldn't. I get why people like to use the AS50/M107 for fun (mostly to show off I suspect) but these thing don't fit, particularly when in the hands of an untrained survivor.

    It will get a bit boring just running everywhere (I do it A LOT) but when servers have no vehicles it's a bit of a disappointment if i'm honest. It's not about 'butt hurt' it's about the alpha likely getting boring.

Hi all Over the last few week vehicles Keep being remove from server vehicles that I have been using on a daily basis. normal restart server once every day to remove unused vehicles as well as dead survivors. Also notice once this happens the was no car van bikes helicopters for a least a week How long is a vehicle there for before being removed? I know the hive control vehicle spawn. But is it usual that no vehicles spawn for a week once server restart all other vehicles are removed? thanks DeanO

    I think all new players basically starts as survivors, then as you get to understand the game and it's mechanics, the surviving aspect becomes obsolete. All that is left to do is mess around with vehicles and hunt other players

    I think this would only work with isolated garages in the smaller towns or isolated houses. It's not going to stop a dedicated player searching on foot, but it will keep your car safe from helicopters spotting/shooting cars. Which would be a big plus IMHO. Anyway, I hope there will be better ways to hide vehicles in the SA; tarps, matted or camouflaged paint jobs, branches...

    Skilled Vs Unskilled bandits

    So if you were killed by both kinds of bandits then how does that make one bandit skilled and the other unskilled? So, because it was night, you ran around looting with a carefree attitude. How do you know it was a sniper on the hill? How do you know you didn't get snuck up on and shot in the back of the head? How is that shooter an unskilled bandit when he shot you at exactly the right moment when he would have his best possible shot (assuming he was on the hill)? How is that nothing but your fault for getting shot when you stated you had seen a sniper on that hill before and yet you stopped in a spot that gave him a shot? The fact that you had no chance to fight back suggests that this was a highly skilled bandit. He shot one time when you stopped, he didn't just start shooting the moment he saw you. The fact that you stopped in a spot he could still see you suggests that you made the mistake, and not the "unskilled" bandit. So because you got robbed (what a joke to get robbed), in a town, and survived, makes this guy more "skilled?" Give me a fucking break. Everyone has a different skill set. Some are more skilled in the close quarters combat, where high automatic guns rule. Some are more skilled where the distances are 200-400m, where assault rifles like the M14, Fal, and Enfield rule. Some are better at set ups to make sniper shots at 500+m. Where they make their 1 shot count. It isn't just shoot shoot shoot the moment they see someone. It's waiting for the right shot, and then making it count. This last person may suck at CQC, but excel at thinking as a sniper. Where to setup, knowing the guns tendencies, knowing when to shoot and when to wait. How does that make him less skilled then the person who is great at CQC but sucks at sniping? The fact that you want the game played a "certain" way shows your true colors. Arbitrary rules. Don't shoot some fresh spawn, don't shoot hero skin, you can only shoot someone if you're within 100m, and when you shoot them you must shoot to break their leg so you can rob them. Only then will you be "skilled." More like only then are you trying to force your playstyle on everyone. Everyone has different playstyles. Everyone excels in different area's of the game. Some prefer to just fix vehicles, some prefer to chopper hunt, some prefer shooting choppers from the sky with other choppers. What makes your opinion more right then anyone else? And yes, it is an opinion. So if they shoot first instead of trying to hold you up they're a wimp and a scaredy cat? They become a true bandit only if they try to rob you? If you get robbed it just shows what kind of player you are. If anyone told me to stand still and drop my gear i'd try to escape and then try to kill them. Maybe it's just me, but it seems to me if I get robbed I have nothing. If I get killed I have nothing. Atleast if I fight back then I have a chance to keep my stuff.

    I certainly hope there will be no advanced vehicles. It's getting ridiculous on many servers where armored vehicles with mounted weapons and combat helicopters/planes are allowed.

    as dayz247 said,it'll create a new pvp zone.and then it's gonna stop being interesting because everyone will lose his vehicles from others that camp the area or just went there.Now,having the ability to lock your car inside a yard in a random city,it's a good idea.Like the small house west of zeleno,it could make a nice parking spot,just lock the gate,and lose your car only of someone breaks the gate/lock,or shoots it.

    What's wrong with Berezino?

    70% of the server will be cherno or elektro just for the pvp.25% will be heading to stary and then nwaf,slaughtering each other on their way.the last 5%,smart people lik us,will go to bere for food and meds and head north from there,and will unlikely meet each other since they are so few,unless they set a meeting in the coastline or the berezino hospital roof. I think berezino is so lonely now cause it used to be a deathtrap,in the summer during The Great Rise Of DayZ(the time that pretty much every server was full) berezino would be full of players,and due to the lack of good sniping hills and the existance of the apartment buildings,lone wolves knew that they had to be quick or dead.If you didnt have a friend to cover yo ass you would be dead before you even notice.So i guess that fresh spawns are way too scared to go there,and geared guys don't want to risk their shit.That leaves us with 2 supermarkets and a hospital,pretty much for personal use.I should add though,that berezino is really popular to owners of vehicles,mostly cars and trucks,since they can avoid having their wheels stolen in elektro,and they can just load every can of beans and box of painkillers in their vehicles and get it to their base.It's one of my and my clan's first stops if we spawn east
