On my server we have some few bug with the new version : - When a player just get killed, he got kick from the server (don't know why ?) - The vehicles position aren't saved anymore after each restart it might come from our host, but still weird just after the new patch. Someone else got the same problem ?

hi there! I started to play the mod when it was pretty new. I still experienced teamwork and helping each other.. then came a time when people started to KoS without any reason. Then the hacker came and the game died for me personally. As many said before, Day Z is special because it gives us a tension when we meet another player.. what will he do.. will he trade or attack ? When you can expect other players are attacking 99% of the time there is no point in playing Day Z. There are better shooters out there or you can play Arma 3 wasteland. Day Z is dead with this KoS aspect. Just leaving the CoD kids and hackers behind. Todays servers with 500 vehicles and guns show that. Thats not a game I want to play. BUT I just tried 1.7.7 and have 2 stories for you: 1. I was followed by Zs and was runnung into a building killing one after the other at the entrance.. as I was done I turned around and there was another player, he must have watched me for a while. He didnt attack.. we both saluted and went on doing our thing. I was suprised. 2. I met a guy in a barn.. the long hallway kind of barn. He came closer.. I backed off.. he came closer.. I backed off and stopped, decided to attack if he came into the range of my machete. I heard him cough and he asked if I had antibiotica. I just had 1, but for the sake of the old Day Z spirit I told him: Ok wanna trade ? .. he gave me soda and I gave him antibiotics. Not a good deal.. but the point is, he thanked me, telling me I saved his live.. and left. No attack,, no stabbing me in the back. Im sure he would have killed me if I wouldnt have been careful.. or if he would have a gun.. but in the end I thought this meeting was much cooler than a simple KoS meeting. I just hope standalone is able to revive the spirit of the old days. We need bandits sure.. but if everyone is a bandit its just a simple shooter. Nothing special about it. There are shooters out there with better graphics and better gameplay. I want the survival aspect and the interaction with other players.

Guys, could you take a look at my server? RedBack Gaming (Just look for that with dayz or add 216.185.103.153:3170 to your favs! We have really great friendly admins, over 1000 vehicles. Our ping limit is somthing like 10000 so I have never. ever ever ever... Seen a ping kick, at the moment we are vanilla dayz, but are working hard on bring custom scripts for more fun and excitment! Really looking forward to seeing you guys there, have fun! P.S. Play on the server enough and you will be concidered for a clan membership :)

Ha, this poll isnt fair because all the unsatisfied players already switched to other games ;-) I ve already lost "friends" I played with in the last month. Today I found a server with the following settings DE 1000 NPC fortress 350 vehicles fixed loot + infection !!! real crashsites buildings extra barracks wrecks care packages dayonly autorefuel repair stations open roads start equipment active admins no zombies This sounds like fun. 34 Players at this time, ranked at the first place. Ok, the last point was added by me, couldnt resist :-P -

I agree with Bad_Mojo that hacking really isn't that prevalent on the public hive anymore, whether that is because most servers are private hives nowadays or it's due to improvements in security I couldn't say but it's no longer an issue. This is coming from someone who stopped playing on the public hive entirely around August last year because it was so bad. I've been back on the public hive for a couple of months now and haven't had any problems. I will say if it weren't for private hives the mod would probably be dead right now, I know I would have stopped playing last year primarily due to the issues with cheaters if it weren't for them. The custom maps/mods the community have created are also fantastic and bring a breath of fresh air to DayZ. However, personally I hope we don't see privates hives in the standalone for a long time, the changes made will (hopefully) address the issues with hacking and I think there are better ways of working with content/map creators then allowing server admins to do anything they want. I'd rather see the community given tools to create stuff and maybe using something like steamworkshop so community content can be rated and given feedback and the best submissions reviewed and implemented by the DayZ team into an official build (maybe we would have an official Namalsk hive and an offocial Taviana Hive etc instead of having thousands of servers where the experience is totally different every time every time you play and half the servers have starting loadouts, thousands of vehicles, admin bases, donator perks etc. It's also worth pointing out that Rocket has said the private hives won't be available for a while, you can host your own server from day one but it will connect to the central server. If you are expecting private hives anytime soon you are probably going to be disappointed. -

- FPS issues are worse for me and the group of people that I play with than.1.7.7. In 1.7.6.1 I rarely dropped below 100fps, now I never see above 60 and less than 15 is quite common. - Parachutes sometimes don't disappear after detaching from player. - Players/vehicles sometimes down spawn where they last saved/logged out. No where near in some cases. Destroyed vehicles routinely respawn fixed where they were destroyed. - AN2 spawns in the debug plains. - Tents do not place any where near where the player is looking. Random direction and distance from the player. - Can't reload the PKTs in the MI-17. Huey works as intended. Probably not a bug: We had a hacker hit our server and try to teleport everyone, the game kicked every single player for setPos restriction. Awesome job keeping players from getting killed, but everyone getting kicked was hard to take.

Keep inmind this is a copy and paste from a post i made earlier. The issue you are having is very unique which most games have never and mostly will never run the way arma 2 games run but seeing how dayz and arma 3 have made such a name, you can expect many great game in the future, so if you enjoy armas delightful design and gameplay then a Solid State Drive would highly benefit you in more ways than just one. The problem you are having is your 7200rpm HDD has mechanical moving parts, at 7200rpm just isn't fast enough. You see, arma 2 run's it's game through hundreds of Image files called PBO files, which have many different functions. Such as, Weapons,air,sound,water,environment,trees,grass,vehicles, skin models, anything and everything you see in arma 2 is because of those files. Now, arma 2 runs entirely off Indexing those PBO files, thats why a 7200rpm Harddrive cannot dish out the index fast enough for the processor and gpu, For example, your cpu and gpu are sitting there tapping their feet, waiting for the harddrive to give the data needed for the cpu and gpu to move forward at a stable rate. Now, 2 ways to do this, 1 being the one i recommend the most. Is buy a SSD set it up as a 2ndary harddrive and install only steam and all of arma games to it and use it as a gaming/video harddrive then use the HDD you have now as the main HDD that holds the OS and main system files. Or you could get a SSD to fit your entire computer on, though, i do not recommend that because the life of a SSD does not compare to the life of a HDD by any means, if a HDD burns, you can retrieve the lost data, if a SSD burns out, data is lost for ever, cannot ghost or retrieve data from a Burnt SSD. Hence the reason i strongly recommend it as a 2ndary!

So what if the zombies are not perfect? What zombie mod do you know needs to be 100% perfect in all gameplay methods? The zombies will be only a third of the scenario given there are other survivors to meet and supplies to scavenge or trade with them. Path finding for the zombies would be nicer, but given the limits this game has, only so much could be done before the red carpet is rolled up for good and the game is finished. The new enterable buildings and customized map catches my attention each time an update video is posted. I really hope there are clothes to cover my character's face. Or maybe hijacking a BMP will help me cover a plaza as my team scavenges the buildings for supplies. An artic map, desert map or jungle map would be nice. That brings me to a list of questions: Question 1. Is there tanks? Question 2. Is there rockets/RPGs/missiles? Question 3. Is there Claymores? Question 4. Is there a rappel option available from helicopters? Question 5. Is there Satchel Charges and able to attach to vehicles? Question 6. Is there working repair garages? Question 7. Is there ski masks/balaclava? Question 8. Is there tear gas? Question 9. Is there tranquilizer guns/tazer guns? Question 10. Is there camelback hydration systems? So, me and my DayZ buddy both were in a helicopter way up in the north, me and him were just looking around when we spotted some color. We appear to have found a very VERY large bandit camp that had about 9 cars and 2 helicopters at it, a few tents and more. My friend landed the helicopter and we started looting everything, we put what we could in the heli and we put the rest inside one of their urals. After we looted everything we gathered up all the vehicles into one central point, so all their extra vehicles made a star shape. I placed a satchel charge which i obtained in the middle of the start. I stood back a long distance and pressed the button. One of the coolest things i have ever seen, about 8 cars blowing up simultaneously with a satchel charge, cool. After the explosion my friend took off with the heli, traveling over hills and forests to get to our base. I took off with their ural loaded with all their supplies, i drove about 30 minutes back to our camp and unloaded all their stuff, we were rich.- 21 replies

I'm pretty sure the only reason the hospitals windows are unbroken is because thats how the model for that building is in arma 2, there's no grand design behind it. Why has my survivor got no gear? Maybe i've just been robbed by bandits (the uber rare ones that dont kill for no reason) Maybe i was on a boat that capsized losing all my possessions at sea Maybe i'd laid down to rest one night in a shed and got woken by a bunch of zeds forcing me to run for my life leaving all my gear. My assumption that a decent amount of time has passed since the outbreak is based mainly on the evidence i see all around the map, there's signs of very heavy military presence all over the place, i find it dificult to believe that all those roadblocks and burntout vehicles could of just appeared overnight. -
Can I refuel a chopper on a server with autorefuel with only a can?

The auto refuel script is for vehicles near a petrol station, drive in or land on the roof and select refuel. Jerry cans can only be filled by going to the brown or white petrol tanks (Varies depending on the mod) and scroll the wheel until you see fill jerry can, you can't fill a jerry can in a petrol station. The different types of petrol tanks for jerry cans are shown below -

I can't really help you with downloading info. But I can help you with the game, here are a few tips. Find a well populated Vanilla server, what I mean by that is a server that has no artificial extras. There are a lot of Private Servers out there where you get starting gear, added loot and hundreds of vehicles. These do not give you the true DayZ experience, they are just easy mode servers where everything is given to you. But this game is all about your own journey with it, I would advise not to team up with someone who is experienced it will probably ruin the first experience for you. If you can find someone else who is completely new, get on Skype or TS3 with them and teamup. Learn together. It is what me and my friend did and it was awesome, we didn't have a clue but when you're dying and losing all your gear every 15 minutes you quickly learn what to do and what not to do. I can now survive for days of game time with little difficulty. The more you put into the game, the more you will get out from it. There is nothing like finding your first gun after hours of looking, with the immense sense of reward that comes with it and 5 minutes later 'Pop' you've been head shotted by a bandit you can't even see. You will feel so frustrated, you will probably close the game and feel like removing it from your computer. But you will be back on in the next hour giving it another chance. I don't want to give you too much help about the game because I feel it would ruin it for you. But I can tell you some things about the HUD. On the right hand side of your screen, around the middle right you will see an Ear and an Eye icon. Next to these will be bars coming out of them. This shows how loud and how visible you are to zombies, the more bars, the more visible. This is dependant on movement and the 'loudness' of what you are running on. If you are too visible or too loud you will get zombies chasing you. Try to make yourself as quiet as possible, don't run on roads, run on the grass next to them. Running is louder than crouching which is louder than proning, you will need to utilize all of these to get good survivability. Then you get in the bottom right hand corner an icon of a Thermometer, a bottle, a blood drop and food. Thermometer is temperature, but at the stage of the game you don't need to worry about it too much. The bottle is your thirst, as you spawn in it will be full and will slowly empty, when it is empty you need to drink otherwise you will start losing blood (health). The blood drop is your health, Infection, thirst, hunger and getting hit by zombies or shot will lower this. When the drop is empty, you die, when it is low you will fall unconscious at random times. Also you will get blurred and discoloured images. To get blood back you can eat preferably meat, and to a lesser extent canned food, or to get full blood back another player has to give you a blood transfusion, which requires a blood bag on the other player. This is only a mod though, there are a lot of bugs and general problems with it. However it is still very enjoyable, IMO. And remember trust nobody! -

A little about us: ]TPG[ is a casual, community-based gaming clan. We were started as a CS:S and TF2 clan, but we've since evolved and expanded into many other games, including DayZ. Of the games we play, we take DayZ the most seriously. That being said, we're about having a good time and surviving - not about being douches. We operate US 106, a 50-man DayZ private hive that has been around for 6+ months. We recently added a 2nd DayZ server - (198.24.161.202:2314) TPG Origins TotalPunishmentGaming VA 300+ VEHICLES Privae Hive (v1.7.1/Build 103419) [VETERAN] [4h Day/Night] [NO M107/AS50] - a 50-man day/night cycle, DayZ Origins private hive server based in Virginia, and there are many members and regs playing throughout the day. We aim to be a friendly survivor group, but we won't hesitate to kill known bandits or defend ourselves or our gear. We got the server set up and tested last night, and we've opened it to the public today so please pop in and let us know what you think. We are always looking for feedback from the community, so please make your opinions known on the forums or in our public teamspeak. I play on NewBambiCanda, found a Stryker tank and killed some 12 ppl in one evening by runing them over or ramming them in their vehicles. Only by traveling location Kamenka-Cherno-Elektro-Berezino. One even offered to donate 10 uSD to the server if admins could arange for him to kill me :) My point: you must adopt. I always walk thru woods, never on roads and drive on side roads rather than main roads. Nobody ever kills me on road. Keep stealthy and you will not get KOS. If you run thru town like you own it...die!

(We Hope) * [FIXED] - Fixed issue where your player's body would be deleted if aborting too quickly. * [FIXED] - Shadow LODs on soda cans. * [FIXED] - Zeds full scale damage reverted to 100% was 50% in .7. * [uPDATED] - Color saturation starts to fade out at blood level 9000 * [uPDATED] - Rest to provide a 1% chance to cure infection (Can only be done once every 5 mins) * [uPDATED] - Zed will now attack again while prone with animation. * [uPDATED] - Updated tackle animations to an actual stumble/trip animation for back, left and right of player (holding a pistol remains unchanged). Both removed so we can debug fps issues. * [REMOVED] - Wild Zeds while we try to debug issues with FPS. * [REMOVED] - Zeds will no longer spawn while in vehicles.

No no no and no! Why usa? its everywhere in videogames! No! I love chernarus, if you want a post apocalyptic and immersive map, a post sovieta nation is the perfect choise! (also the industrial zone of my city is a good post apocalyptic place XD ). Lack of guns uh? Well, its a post soviet state! Maybe you cant find an atmic bomb in an house, but there are a lot of military zones filled with weapons (soviet union had the most great army industry of all times). ANd think about the "civilian weapons" like haunting rifles and remnants of war. And for vehicles: I prefer a shitty trabant, or an ural rather than a "fuckyeahhummer"

This is actually pretty hard question, as the zombies have most likely already consumed most of the food how are they suppose to keep themselves alive, i dunno, but nobody knows how fast zombie dies to hunger, maybe in weeks maybe even in years like The Walking Dead. Old russian Car's tend to rust pretty fast, some of them must have burnt at the riots, and the rest of them due ocean athmosphere, rain water and possibly some moss or other plants do pretty good job in taking back whats nature's. And to the plane, it must have burst to flames at the crash ->paint burns and hull metals weaken -> no longer rust proof -> rain comes -> begins to rust. So the zombies remain as a mystery but rusty Vehicles are pretty well solved already. Maybe we find some clues about the infected ingame, who knows?... -

I lately refer to the term (in)consistency. I personally came to an opinion that the game somehow lacks consistency: may it be zed-behavior, or the fact that we have so many rusted-down vehicles - remember the pic of the crashed airplane? - which imply that the outbreak started ages ago, still there are plenty of "fresh" zeds (although they should decease within a "relatively short" timespan i would have guessed --> again: inconsistency of zed's and the "Infection" in general imho). so loot also depends on a consistent world. if the outbreak were ages ago, we should be forced to hunt and tend to cannibalism ("The Road"). If it were just days ago we could find plenty of loot... -
