    Savor cars while they last

    I read that they will come later. Supposedly Rocket is designing cars so you can swap out parts and end up with a ghetto looking El Camino with the door from a Chevy Nova and the front left quarterpanel from a Ford Pinto. I hope he adds more vehicles too. The current setup where vehicles are a rare and wonderful treasure sucks. It's simply not worth it to spend hours rebuilding a car just to hide it forever at the far edges of the map for fear of having it stolen or shot up.

    VANILLA DayZ - Brains of Britain

    Same regulars on each day, im sure they are looking for some players to hunt! I'm starting to think Rockets origional game is not what people want, considering the difference between the influx of players to our Vanilla server, compared to our server with 90 Vehicles and 4 Helis.
  4. Hey, just dropping in to tell you that a new server has just opened up, "Outbreak". This server is the exact replica of Vanilla Day Z, I have made sure that everything has stayed at default settings. Vanilla meaning the way Day Z was really meant to be played, no abusive admins, no 10 year old bandits with as50's, no more bullshit. None of the admins that I have selected have access to anything except bans and logs, I the owner am the only one with full control over the private hive. If needed though, due to any overload of hackers I will select a few good admins to help with the hive. In all honesty though, the reason I have started this server is because I want to play Day Z the way it was meant to be played, I was getting tired of all the mods and cars and op gear, etc etc. That being said, yes, I will be playing from time to time on the server. And YES, I will be playing legit. I have been playing Day Z for about a 5 months now so I am very familiar with everything. If you ever join this server, you better watch out fo meh! Anyways, in case anyone was wondering...I am a pretty experienced Admin, I have not only admined Day Z, but many other game too. I know how people can be, hackers and such, so the hacking rate on this server should be low. I spend a lot of my time checking logs, etc. So we welcome everyone to join our server, setup camp, and prepare for a ton of Vanilla DayZ fun! We plan to run and actively support this server Till Rocket releases the Standalone. The release date is unknown but know that you will have a safe place to plop your tent and be ready until then.     Mans Last Stand Private Hive

    Just wanted to add a few things. -We now have events every Friday night and Sunday evenings (EST) Lots of fun and sometimes good PvP. Lots of times players and clans coming together to finish an objective. - There's allot of custom bases\barracks with custom loot, All the Rmod weapons and vehicles that are in the game. -Theres a Trading post where players can trade anything in game to other players in a safe zone - Clan bases are created for all clans on the server. To create a clan you need 5 or more players playing on a regular basis. Theres some perks for having a clan. Protected bases, cars. - Server store: Theres a server store that you can use to buy weapons, heli, cars. Best thing is the player base which is very mature and very cool. I think if you come and stay for awhile you'll love it. What keeps me there is the continuity of the server. you feel like you have a home and you can build up your loot because there are foot lockers clans and players can have that they can hide around the map and Clans can have these same boxes within their bases to store loot. I am sure I am missing a few things but just come to Mans Last Stand and check it out. Or add me [RR] Kflo01 to Dayz Commander and join off of my name.   7. What map do you use? Do you have any special starter gear and loads of vehicles etc? I personally am only interested in the 'vanilla' type of experience regardless of the map. Also, unfortunately being on the other side of the world i can only get on certain servers, but i am always willing to try new ones out.

    From what i understand the main focus is getting things to a point where the alpha can be released asap so people can wander around and explore. I too am disappointed that vehicles wont be included at release but i don't think the devs want to release something that they are not happy with or may indeed cause more problems if added in their current state. Tbh i much prefer vehicles and helis to be rare and like you said when you do find one it is a great moment. I think we all have to realise this is not just a port of the mod to a new engine. It is not DayZ modded to arma 3. It is a completely new game written from scratch.
  9. Hello im an long time friend of illuminist he had recently bought his server and it sky rockted form 4,000 to top 8% and gone down to top 13%. Im here adversting his server as a friend and an admin now, you might be asking your self whats so good about this server. Well we have Ai's,Heli lift, vehicle salvage, Auto refuel,Clear Roads,Custom Bases,Custom Towns,Custom Loot, Added new non dayz weapons,Added new non dayz vehicles -Ai's= Ai's spawn everywhere you go they have loot ranging form a double barrell to a m4a1's,Dmr ; and you can kill Ai's yes. If your a bandit they shoot you on sight; If your a hero they dont shoot you but you can shoot them; If your survivor you have a 50/50 chance if the Ai's shoot you. There also Bandit,Solider,Survivor Ai's these types of Ai's usaully are the same as normal Ai's such as the Solider and Survivor but Bandit Ai's kill,shoot on sight. Ai's also drive and fly so there just same as normal players and they can steal your stuff! if left not protected - Heli Lift= There are certain Helis in our server such as the Black Hawk that can Heli lift any car in the game even a big car such as the ural - Vehicle Salvage- This is the same thing as Origins where if a part of a car such as wheel is not broken and is green you can take if off the car and use it as a part or keep it on you so when you log off your car is safe.(need tool box for this) -Auto refuel- Same thing in wasteland go next to fuel station if in a car just click refuel and it will fill your car; in a heli go above the station and do the same thing and hit refuel to fill your heli up(you need to be in the driver seat, pliot seat to refuel it) -Clear roads - Where there is nothing in the roads like road blocks and garbage - Custom Bases- You must in a group of 3 more to make you and your group a custom base with anything you want we can add anything -Custom Towns- This is where towns have added buildings, for example in cap golova there is a hotel there and 3barracks in balota -Custom Loot,Added new non dayz weapons= these two things go hand and hand we have new custom loot which are mainly weapons such as mk guns in wasteland and silenced svd's,silenced ak's and other weapons - Added new non dayz vehicles- new vehicles such as vodnik,btr 90 hq,lav hq,AAV,baf lynx,Osprey,Black hawk The ip is in the title our Admins are Me Evilsnow, illuminist, ghost. the map is Chernarus

  11. Private Hive Administration For Dummies By Steak And Amber Helios: The Server- There are many server providers out there that offer plenty of deals, gadgets and resources for their clients. When choosing a server provider make sure it meets your finances and do your research on reliability. It is always better to choose a reliable server provider than to select one simply for user friendly gadgets. Whilst all hosts have their own pros and cons majority of people only focus on the cons whether they be user error or not, that being said you may hear a lot of bad comments towards 1 but that does not necessarily mean they are unreliable. As you advance running your server you will gain the knowledge to manage it properly over time and apply the tools you wish to use. Server Addons/Adjustments- Once you have chosen your server provider and now wish to move forward to customization you will need a few tools to assist you. Register at http://opendayz.net/ to get quick Q&A when working with different scripts. Open Dayz provides a lot of feedback and support when testing on your new private hive. You will need to be able to Unpack and Repack your mission files- arma tools Once Unpacked you will need to use the following to edit your mission- notepadd++ comparison plugin and SQF Syntax Highlighting Once you have these I encourage you to make a test mission in your Arma 2 OA editor. Save as multiplayer mission with the scroll down icon and name it Test Mission. Open your PBO located in Arma 2 OA/MP Missions/Test Mission via notepadd++ to begin familiarizing yourself with the layout. Once you are feeling comfortable you can start to add different scripts to the mission and test to make sure you have them situated properly and working. AI- Arma2 Addons Arma2 Mods Arma2 Scripts AI Scripts for Lag Arma2OA Addons Arma2OA Scripts Battle Generators Forum Threads Commanding AI To Add Buildings Via DB- Adding new buildings in DayZ without requiring your client to download your DayZ files or rMod is entirely possible. We can do this by utilizing the object_data table in the hivemind database. Object_data is used for adding vehicles, tents, traps etc into the game world and saving their location. However, it doesn't matter what the class name of the object being added is - they are all the same whether they are Bicycles or Military Hangars. STEP ONE: Location of your object You first need to get a location of where you want to put your object, roughly. Do this by standing in the spot you want and opening your character_data table in Navicat or similar and grabbing the worldposition of your character. If your table was already open, you can just refresh the table to get your latest coordinates. It will look something like this: [ppp,[xxxx,yyyy,zzz]] The numbers are represented as follows: p = compass direction you are facing x = position on X axis from WESTERN side of map y = position on Y axis from SOUTHERN side of map z = height The positions are in meters, so you can use that to fine-tune your building location later on. STEP TWO: Add a new column to object_data This is an optional, but highly recommended step. It basically adds a bypass filter so your objects are not counted as vehicles by fGetVehCount. Add the column "Landmark" to `object_data` as a TINYINT(1) data type. DEFAULT 0 Now edit fGetVehCount and replace it with this: Code: BEGIN DECLARE iVehCount SMALLINT(3) DEFAULT 0; SELECT COUNT(*) INTO iVehCount FROM object_data WHERE Landmark = '0' AND Classname != 'dummy' AND Classname != 'TentStorage' AND Classname != 'Hedgehog_DZ' AND Classname != 'Wire_cat1' AND Classname != 'Sandbag1_DZ' AND Classname != 'TrapBear'; RETURN iVehCount; END STEP THREE: Finding the classname of your desired object Simple, just find it here (click me!) Some objects and vehicles are banned, obviously. DayZ buildings spawn zeds, so becareful if using one when building a base. STEP FOUR: Adding object into object_data Now you need to add a new entry to object_data for your building. For each data column: ObjectID = carry on from your last highest ObjectID if it did not autoincrement itself ObjectUID = A unique numerical ID for your building. I just give mine a prefix, eg 123 and then start counting after. ie 123001,123002 etc. Instance = Same as your server instance, this is probably 1. Classname = Class name of building you found in step three Damage = 0 CharacterID = 0 Worldspace = The position you gathered earlier Inventory = [] Hitpoints = [] Fuel = 0 Datestamp = the current datestamp (in navicat, double click on box and press green arrow) It is VERY important that the irrelevant boxes (ie fuel etc) have the values specified, otherwise it will cause your server to crash. If you added an object which has carrying capacity, IE an ammo box, you can set it's inventory the same way as you do a vehicle etc. For example: [[[],[]],[["ItemJerrycan"],[10]],[[],[]]] FYI: [[[guns-and-tools],[quantity]],[[items-and-ammo],[quantity]],[[backpacks],[quantity]]] STEP FIVE: Saving and restarting the server Now you have added your data to the table, save the table and restart your server. Remember to move your character out of the way first so you are not crushed! (I learnt the hard way...). Restart your server (using #restart is sufficient) (bliss/reality version of adding buildings to the database too it is done the similar way but you use the building for the building id and the instance_building for them to appear on the instance) Here is the guide- http://opendayz.net/...-database.8020/ Add custom Ammo Boxes to your server This will add an ammo crate directly to the database that will appear in game without causing any BattlEye problems or kicks for scripting etc. The crate's contents are customizable by editing the database directly. Stop your server. Login to your database (HeidiSQL is a good free program for this) STEP 1: - Firstly, go in game and stand where you want the ammo box placed. It needs to be on the ground, not on the roof of a building or inside a building etc (well, in my experience at least this did not work). You can then exit the game and retrieve your worldspace (your location on the map) from the database as well as your id (not "unique_id") value from the "survivor" table. In my case, my id = 1 and my worldspace = [10,[11284,4301.85,0.001]] Copy and paste these somewhere for later user. STEP 2: - Next is to define an ammo crate, so go into the database table named "deployable". Click Browse, there should be 5 items listed by default, the last being "Sandbag1_DZ" with the id of 5. Now click Insert and make the id = 6 and class_name = USBasicAmmunitionBox_EP1 then Insert. You should now have 6 items defined here, with "USBasicAmmunitionBox_EP1" being the last with the id of 6. STEP 3: - Next is to place and stock the ammo box, so go to the database table named "instance_deployable". Click Browse. What you see listed there are all the locations of placed objects on your map. Go to the last item on the last page, whatever that may be and get it's id. In my case, it was "10", yours will probably be different based on how many tents and other objects your players have placed on your map. Now click on Insert. Whatever your id was, increment it by one and make that the id on the insert page. In my case, "11". Next, make "unique_id" a random number not assigned to any other objects. I just used 10000011 for easy reference but use whatever you like. Refer to other "unique_id" fields of other objects as an example, but remember, whatever you choose here must be unique. Next, deployable_id = 6 (we defined this id in STEP 2 above) Next is to set the owner_id to the same id of the user placing it (you), so put the id value you retrieved in STEP 1 here. In my case, id = 1. instance_id - set this to the instance number of the map you are working with. in my case instance_id = 1 (Chernarus). worldspace - set this to the worldspace data you retrieved in STEP 1. In my case worldspace = [10,[11284,4301.85,0.001]] inventory - this is where you set the contents of your ammo crate. More on this later, but for now, set it to: [[["Colt1911","Makarov","M9","M9SD","revolver_EP1","glock17_EP1"],[10,10,10,10,10,10]],[[],[]],[[],[]]] This will give you 10 of each handgun in the ammo box. You can now load up the game and the ammo box you just placed will be at your feet containing 10 of each handgun in the game. Now there are some important things to note: First thing to note here is that you cannot store more than 1 backpack (any type) in an ammo box. Contents will not save on restart if you put anything in to them in game. Not ALL ammo box's work. The ones that don't still appear in game, but generate an error when joining the server. You can define any kind of crate you like and try it yourself. The list of options can be found here for regular Arma and here for Operation Arrowhead. I can confirm that the following crate classes DO work just fine: USBasicAmmunitionBox_EP1 USVehicleBox_EP1 USOrdnanceBox_EP1 USLaunchers_EP1 UNBasicAmmunitionBox_EP1 UNBasicWeapons_EP1 While the following do NOT work, generating an error when joining the server: USBasicWeapons_EP1 USSpecialWeapons_EP1 Finally the contents: Pretty much everything else in DayZ CAN be stored in an ammo box in large quantities. (I've tested up to 100 of each item and it works.) Feel free to define your own ammo box contents using the format that "tent storage" uses. OR you can use one of the predefined loadouts I have tested myself and will supply below. Leave id blank and make up some crazy UID for the UID field. Under owner ID put the ID (Not UID) of your created survivor. Worldspace explanatory. You can create an inventory or leave it blank. All other values are not needed. Create the entry. Restart your server and it should spawn in like anything else. If you put more than 80-90 different items in it will error out and not spawn. eg. 100 m4a1 and 100 stanag mags would only count as 2 items. What are the groups goals? Hellsing's main goal is to become one of the most feared/respected clans in all of chernarus. In otherwords this clan is all about being the bad guy and therefore the main focus of this clan is for everyone to have fun. This clan is aiming to have a max of 15-30 members so not to large. 4. How are we going to achieve these goals? One simple way brute force. We will use force to control towns, villages etc. This will raise the knowledge of our clan (hopefully) so that players will learn to avoid us. 5. What is being a member of Hellsings like? We want all want are members to have fun. This means that you can play whenever you want, however you want. We do not want the clan to get in the way of your real life. 6. How does the clan play in-game? In-game the clan is well organized. Depending on how many player's are on at a time e.g. groups will usually be a max of 4 or 6 so if there are 8 players online then there would be 2 groups of 4 and so on. Obviously we will still talk and chat like normal there isnt going to be any ordering people around or any "sir" bullshit. 7. Requirements for joining the clan (Below) Must be 18 or older.. We do not accept any d/cs, hackers or server hoppers. Must have played the game preferably for atleast a month or for more than a week at the least. Must know the Chernarus map and were the the main loots spots are. Must have skype or teamspeak preferably both. 8. How do i join this clan. Simple leave a comment below.   13. There are no hive errors whatsoever.. this is wrong. Wrong. While this is a work in progress, we're working actively on updating our server files to replicate the feel of the original. Wrong again, gender and spawn locations are working fine. Loot spawn is as well.. we're working on some custom loot tables in our next hot fix. It's been mentioned before that we are working on a function to automatically spawn vehicles. You already have this function in your database, it's just not being utilized. There are over 450 spawn locations, only 160 are spawned with fresh databases.. this is why you are not seeing all of the vehicles. The vehicle locations are not guaranteed to be the same but we don't see that as being a problem. We'll be adding spawns by customer request. So you are playing Origins then? We got DDoSed. We're paying for DDoS protection and TC Admin / our website should be back up in the next hour or two. We never said anything about the creator of Origins. As we've said, this is a work in progress. We'll be releasing a hot fix for loot spawns and some various other things either tonight or tomorrow. The volcano bug can be fixed by installing the #1 hot fix from the Mod Manager.

  15. This host is not using the right databse for origins, or the correct hivext. Which is why there are child/hive errors; Essentially, this isn't origins. Seeing as things aren't being fully verified by the database, (the server.pbo reads the database and defines bb_bse variable via the player_data and player_login tables.) If it can't find these tables, the following ceases to work: Gender select Spawn location select Base/House building. The reason you don't see vehicles spawning in their correct locations, is because the 'host' is essentially just importing his own vehicle spawn locations. You're basically playing Taviana with.. AI, Origins map, and origin zombies. The reason the loot is spawning so slow, is because of the player_data table missing. But that can be fixed by raising the loot chance, and removing the spawnCheck dependencies (on humanLty). Apparently the host does not fully understand what he's doing, so he's releasing an unfinished product. This is obviously NOT a good thing. -------------------- OVERALL, It's blatant that he's using the recently leaked files, instead of fully emulating the origins server side. I'd honestly like a refund, seeing as I was lied to. There is no "instant setup", or "good support". I've been waiting 6 to 7 hours since I purchased my server. I like how he mentioned that the creators of "origins" were money hungry, yet here he is. Lying, and scamming all these people. Making them think, that he will EVER get the origins servers to work properly! HA!

  18. I did say I would be uploading images of the added vehicles. With the removal of Rmod this has resulted in alot of the vehicles now not being available. Hey, I am currently running a DayZ server and i want to add some more vehicles such as attack helicopters, not for their weapons but for their speed and their gunner cameras such as the Apache and the AH-1Z, however obviously before i add them, i want to find out if it is possible to make them spawn without any ammunition, so they cannot fire and instead they simply have their advantages and dissadvantages, ie, apache is fast, but not as agile as the huey, however it has a gunner camera, although it also has only 2 seats, i was also considering adding a super rare spawn of the Takistani jet the L-39, again without ammo, as it is just another fast vehicles with advantages and dissadvantages :), any help on removing the ammo will be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

  22. I wouldn't say a lot of people are losing interest. I mean the SA hasn't been released into alpha and it hasn't even got an official website yet (these forums are for the ArmA DayZ mod, not the stand alone). Once it has a website and gets on with some proper advertising, you will see a fresh surge of interest. Don't forget that whatever does get released will not be a finished product either. I'm fairly certain it's already been said that there will be no vehicles to start with. Only one map will be available. There will almost certainly be bugs to resolve too!

You would have full admin access via the web based DayZ Control Center panel, and would get full access to the MySQL database for your server. My goal is to expand the Unified Gaming NetworX community. Our dedicated server at the moment only runs four DayZ servers, two CSGO servers, and one Teamspeak. I'd like to make good use of the resources available on our server, it runs with 32GB ram and dual SSDs! So rest assured this isn't a crappy server hosted by someone in their bedroom :P The only conditions would be you merge with our community, get to know us and use our 512 slot teamspeak.   25. I have a friend (leader of my team) who's currently running a Taviana server. One of those servers where it's 500+ vehicles, weapon boxes around the map, added custom bases, added scripts, etc. It's not constantly just PvP unless there's 50+ people on, but it still feels like Wasteland with zeds most of the time. Many of the regulars (including me, and the rest of our team) have become bored and mainly aggravated because of how the server is played out with how easy it is to get geared up, the amount of vehicles, and especially the kind of community and players it attracts (which, none of us are very fond of). We've told him about what we think about it and maybe under-going some changes to make the server to have a more "DayZ" feel to it. With having said among the lines of; removing a majority of the vehicles, remove all the weapon boxes on the map and deleting a majority of the added in bases. Even though we remove the weapon boxes, we could also stabilize it by adding in barracks to some of the custom bases remaining on the map so that not all military loot would be coming from the Martin Barracks as a main focus for players (It would also add diversity to the map and makes it reasonable to travel around the map). Of course, after trying to reason with him, he insisted on saying no, and keeping the server how it is. No, I'm not starting this thread because he said no (It's his server, he can run it how he wants to). I just would like to see on behalf of the DayZ community, what kind of server would you rather have? The 500+ vehicles, gearing up completely in 15 minutes of game time, etc. (Wasteland with zeds feel). or A more survival feel; what DayZ should be, with the difficulty, the struggle, and time consuming fun that had began this mod all together.
