    Hey, welcome back! DayZCommander is better than ever. No, there isn't. Not if you join a whitelisted private hive. I have a good one if you need one. I don't know. There were some new vehicles added. The Hero/Bandit system is still there unchanged, but the debug monitor was replaced with a journal. On some servers, but it's mostly private hives now.

  7. ========= Introduction ========= Welcome to Sahrani a fictional Atlantic island created by Bohemia Interactive (BI) for use in "ArmA: Armed Assault" (Better known as Arma 1) and it's expansion Queen's Gambit in the form of United Sahrani. Bohemia later revised the map and re-titled it "United Sahrani" for the DLC "Queen's Gambit" Thanks to the hard work of .kju[PvPscene] and the rest of the contributers to the Caa1 Project we are able to bring this amazing BI map to the DayZ Audience. Sahrani has a robust history and we will eventually add to this story by way of revealing the events that led to "Day Z" on Sahrani. The Sahrani Map is approx. 400 km2, (20,300km x 20,300km edge to edge) however actual land mass is closer to 100 km2 for the mainlands (Kingdom of South Sahrani (KSS) and Democratic Republic of Sahrani (DRS)) and approximately 120 km2 including all the smaller islands. The topography and terrain is varied and dramatic, offering what many consider to be the most dynamic setting ever put forward for the ArmA Universe.     A bit of help.

    So I've been away for a long time now and I don't know much about how to make the game work no more. Does Dayz Commander still work? Is there any other better client? Are hackers still running amok? are there more than one helicopter per server in vanilla (and without hacked in)? any other new vehicles/boats/planes/helis/weapons in the past year? has anything changed in the hero/bandit system? do groups like the medics or coalition still operate? thanks.

    What you guys think about the new update?

    To me it just seems like an attempt to recapture the original DayZ experience that will never be duplicated in the current mod for experienced players (hopefully standalone with added features can make the grind more interesting). Making loot harder to find just adds a frustration factor. I can kill someone with an Enfield especially if they are playing under the same conditions. Personal opinion, if it was not for the heavily modded servers I would play DayZ far less today. The thrill of running to the NWAF has been lost and no amount of nerfing loot or removing weapons will make it fun to grind out vanilla DayZ on a consistent basis. I had a great deal of fun last summer playing vanilla DayZ and I often end up going back and having fun in small doses with vanilla DayZ. But if I have an hour or two to kill and nothing else I feel like playing I will jump in an easy mode server with tons of guns and vehicles and just have fun. That is why I could really care less about the new patch, server owners will end up tweaking features anyways so both groups can have what they want. Oh yea, man up.

  11. A while ago I would have said no ... but now I'm not entirely sure. From repeated loss of vehicles and raided tents, I became highly suspicious of le hax on one of my regular public haunts. Turns out I was right after watching three guys in a row get busted for setpos (teleport) restrictions by Battleye (finally!) in one evening. One of them was a long term regular using his normal name, the other two were suspected to be regulars under changed names. One even tried to change his name again and come back, but Battleye announced his idiocy and unchanged GUID in chat. What a halfwit. Later on I found out from a friend of an admin, that a whole gang of hackers had been manually banned, following evidence of mass map hacking and teleporting. They got greedy, taking every vehicle on the server and raiding every tent. Pointless without doubt and childishly destructive, there are still plenty out there.

    Understanding KoS Mentality...

    After reading yet another rant about the rampant KOS mentality currently permeating the mod, I considered a question that I have been toying with for a while now. Let me first say that I believe that the main reason so many people kill on sight is just because they're bored as hell. Once you've played the game for a while dying doesn't really mean shit, especially if you're playing with you friends. Its just not a big deal. You're essentially perma-geared which is the only real motivating factor to this game since there aren't attributes, XP or levels. So if you don't need to scavenge and if the zombies provide little entertainment because of how easy they are to deal with, then what would be the next logical step to keeping yourself entertained? Killing other players. Derp. Why Consider this though. It seems like the standalone is going to be implementing something i've long been hoping for - decreased spawn rates for loot (especially the higher end items like military weapons) and vehicles. Therefor making it much harder/more time consuming to gear up and reach "end game" and once you have finally managed to get some decent gear you would probably be pretty damn cautious about losing it. IE you probably wouldn't try to snipe some random dude just for the fun of it because he (or the newly improved zombies) might kill you. Buuuuut, it also might make people MORE likely to kill someone who is nearby under the "better safe than sorry" mentality. What do you think? I really do believe that dramatically decreasing the spawn rates and therefor making this game more about scavenging/surviving the zombies (who I also believe should pose a much higher threat to players) would be a step....no, a leap in the right direction. You should have to gradually earn your gear, not just by running around but by genuinely fighting with the zombies too. Do that and you not only increase the realism/authenticity but you continually provide players with something to do (other than killing players). We all love this game, but sometimes there really isn't much else to do besides hunt people. FOR NOW!
  15. This is a 90+ vehicles server with a donation option. Which part of that tells you that this is a fair server? Besides, if you dont posess the skill to kill a donator and take his gear (which is what i was doing the 1st week trying out the server) then maybe you should play somewhere else (e.g.GB UK#2 :D which is pure vanilla with no donations) UK#1 is skill only survival with REAL bandits and REAL heroes, its not Minecraft (which we also have a server for :D 5.9.37.202:25565).     Here's the problems I got, but still 1.7.7 is a awesome update! :D 1) Kicked: "PublicVariable Value Restriction #150" when player proceed a blood transfer 2) Kicked: "RemoteExec Restriction #200" when player crashed a heli/plane And here's the problem that I'm not sure if it's my own problem :( 3) Amount of the items spawned in vehicles are missing in the column "Inventory" of database "object_spawns" 4) Database "Character_dead" is not using at all, procedure "pCleanup" is just deleting the dead character record DayZ 1.7.7 is awesome, especially the zombies are more difficult to kill than before. Keep going DayZ deve team! Have more beans :rolleyes: :beans:

Standard low gear load out for all players (makarov, 2 mags, Czech vest & 2 bandages) Usual custom buildings such as extended urban areas, additional fire stations, barracks, apartments,castles etc (Not OP additions like barracks added to Cherno or anything like that!) No choppers! - Play Day Z how it was meant to be played! Daylight settings temporary running 24/7 No admin restricted areas or protected bases! Additional vehicles custom loot tables 30+ new weapons added to the spawn table custom vehicle spawns AI Bandits, soldiers and survivors Custom ambushes and choke points Towing/airlifting moderates with limited admin access (so no admin abuse!) to just kick and ban hackers 3 factions fighting against each other (so there's no clan stacking - all our members are divided between the 3 teams!) On going tournaments and events to win in-game rewards or "faction funds" to buy equipment or supplies - earn the dough and reap the rewards! TSW Anti-Hack installed Now more than ever it’s important for server regulars to pick a side! With the recent relaunch (moved server host and changed maps!) and success of our Day Z server, it’s important our server users get affiliated to a faction! Our Chernarus server is a dangerous place with AI and human bandits on almost every hillside, in every city and around every corner! We’re already seeing a lot of casualties though treachery, deception and damn right piracy! The only rules that apply on our server (apart from no cheating!) are faction members cannot fire upon members of their own faction – there is only honour among our factions! Affiliation to a faction at least guarantees your safety (and support) within that faction! Affiliation last the entire course of a Faction Wars season, which are regular events that are hosted on the server and played at specific times, so once you are affiliated with a faction you are bound to them for the long haul, but benefits of being a part of a faction include team loyalty, better event participation and eventually a protected faction base! All three factions are presently open to join and offer various benefits! Ideally, the factions have different goals and approaches (but these arent always set in stone!); Ravens tend to be more "hero” style in their approach, friendly, skill full, stealthy and interested in building bases, helping others and providing protection to bambis and noobs alike! Scorpions are more "bandit" style players, pirates of Chernarus their main objective is self preservation and to f**k up some ones day! They are only loyal to each other and will think nothing of shooting first, asking questions later! Jackals are the newest faction and specialise in base building and trading. They also tend to be a friendly/hero styled faction but have been known to switch their loyalties to the highest bidder! They are kind of a bounty hunter faction! However it’s important to understand that this is only the IDEAL of the factions and there are no obligations for Scorpions to play bandit, Ravens to play hero – Ravens can be as cold and ruthless in their daily excursions and Scorpions can be friendly and helpful, it’s entirely up to you how you wish to play!   20. Current Bug list Amount of the items spawned in vehicles are missing in the column "Inventory" of database "object_spawns". Database "Character_dead" is not using at all, procedure "pCleanup" is just deleting the dead character record. I couldn't set up a tent, can anyone confirm that. ????????? DayZ loading screen logo is blurry. When i attempted to blood bag it said : Bloodbag has been interrupted without even moving.   22. Ok all you players out there that are looking for a little renewed excitement in Chernarus. The Bean Heroes server is up and running and looks to be a winner. Come give it a try. The server offers all the things most servers are always avoiding putting in. There are jets, tanks, custom care packages, auto refuel, attack choppers, tow, and salvage. However, even though you might be inclined to shy away from a server that claims those vehicles, Bean Heroes maintains a nice balance between allowing some heavy armor while providing enough anti armor weaponry to balance it out. Smaw rocket launchers are available in care packages, and there are tow humvees to be found that will make quick work of a tank. If you prefer foot combat there is a good variety of guns spread out there to choose from wheter you like sniping or running up on your enemy to destroy them. And dont worry if you spawn in and dont see a tank sitting next to you. There is a good variety of large trucks and other basic vehicles to get you off the coast and huntint for your favorite gear without spending six hours searching for a bicycle. So if your looking for a good mix of action packed pvp and vehicle combat while still maintaining a taste of scavenging for gear and surving the conflict come check out Bean Heroes. I can say after playing there for about 3 days straight i have really enjoyed going back to Chernarus and will be spending some more time playing there.     He's having a jab at me because I favour .50 cals and the occasional hipfire spam with a DMR/AS50 on vehicles or fast moving short range targets. I don't deny that I've spamfired but that's because there are scenarios where it's more viable than a slow aimed shot and especially useful in high intensity. I don't refuse to play that game, if spamfiring gives me the advantage than I will take it. He's not a very good player and left our servers but still comes back to whine on the forums, it's frustrating to say the least.
