    CARS SUGGESTION (REALISTIC AND POSSIBLE)

    The game isn't set in Russia, so no. GAZ and UAZ and a few others are quite possible though. Most of the military vehicles are highly unlikely because the Chernarussian army use old Soviet stuff from before the dissolution of the USSR

    Sweet and simple. People in vehicles should be able to defend themselves and not just be sitting ducks behind glass.

    Hello, i wanted to ask if developers are going to implement new weapons/attachments/clothing/backpacks when at the same time they are working on new sistems like cooking/vehicles and stability fixing. I realy think that game is missing some new weapons like ak, acr, scar and attachments like laser and grip. :)
  4. So. Tired. In bed. But I can't sleep. I need to write stuff or I won't be happy. Vehicle Modifications: I know it's too early to talk about vehicles. Anyway, adding metal plates/makeshift blades to the car in order to make ir more resilient/shred zombies and bambis apart at the expense of speed and handling. Makeshift Explosives: A gas tank, some kind of fuse, matches. Not an expert of explosives, would it be possible to make an improvised, low power grenade with a little gas tank like the ones we have? Nailed Shoes: Add nails to shoes. Gives a boost to speed while walking along slopes, a malus while walking in flat ground and deteriorate while walking on roads and hard stuff. Makeshift stuff!: A bottle, rags, duct tape and voilà, a perfect suppressor. Throws aim off by a mile, but nobody cares. Spray all day. Slingshot: We have rocks. I want to crack heads with those. Medical Overhaul: More in-depth medical system, bullet-caused infections and all that stuff. Possibly things that requite a second person to be done. I'll just sleep now. I have some more stuff, but I am fairly sure 90% of the above have already been said.

Penashe I will deffinatly look into More donation perks soon, and I like the idea of the "Fallen city" its just the programming takes alot of effort and its confusing, but i will defiantly look into it. I will add DMRs to the missions and im going to remove vehicles spawning at them so it doesnt cause the problem of exploding cars. For the combo locks and sledgehammers Ill add those in to for 3 10oz of gold each. --TurtleBeef

    Planting traps on players or even zombies?

    Well you can knock down trees with vehicles, so perhaps do what they did in epoch and be able to use an axe? That would be epic, Although someone would probably setup a trap of a whole forest and then step on it himself :P
  7. I would like to see donation perks like self blood bag, spawn at base, resupply crates, donation only trader, base domes. Also a plot pole that is not worthless after dying and has less limits on items allowed to build. Combo locks and sledgehammer at trader too. A "fallen city" AI town or base would be great. DMR available somewhere and mission vehicles blowing up upon entry needs fixed.
  8. Okay i know i am going to get a shit ton of "OMG ITS IN ALPHA FAG SHUT UP" But wait! Just hear me out.....This game is just amazing, Yes it has a laundry list of bugs and glitches but the game is so addictive and emersive its ridiculous! But what ruins emmersiveness (Or how ever you spell it) ? Thats right! Choppy frame rate, Now i could run the mod at a steady 35+ FPS and it made it so enjoyable but this games runs terribly on my PC and from what i have seen from streams and videos other people PC's too, Now this game would gain alot of new players if it was optimized better because people with lower end machines will run it better and have more fun, Now you are probably rushing to the bottom of this page to write the generic "Buy a new PC idiot" Well guess what, Not everyone has $500 to spend on a PC with lightning coming out the USB ports. So if i can make one request to Rocket or Bohemia whoever is developing this game it is forget about vehicles, forget about more weapons for a while, Think about a large section of your fanbase who dont have amazing PC's and optimize this game! Your game is awesome and deserves to be admired by a bigger fan base! Thank you for your time, You are quite obviously going to comment hate because thats all anyone does on these forums so go ahead!

    Sorry? Chernarus is a former soviet communist satellite state. It is not surprising that a lot of old russian tech is there. Since it was produced until 1972, when it was replaced by the UAZ-469, it wouldn't be too unrealistic that some of those vehicles made it into civilian hands. Heck, they even sell russian T-72s and BRDM-2s over the internet for a couple of 10k bucks.
  10. This makes a lot of sense kingrex. If they implement modular road vehicles (which by all accounts seems pretty likely), then it shouldn't be too difficult to give aircraft the same treatment. It will also add to the difficulty in getting airborne, which I support 100%.

Pros: STEAM STEAM STEAM STEAM STEAM Revamped inventory Clothing customization (HUUUUGE for potential RP) Chernarus+ Cons: No vehicles as of yet No storage options as of yet Unfortunately, a large part of the community (seeing the KOS debates, 3rd person debates, and the hubbub about the development schedule gives me brain aneurisms). Heading up Berezino or the NE airfield to find yourself completely alone, even on a 40/40 server. Why new players spawn into Berezino and choose to sprint south along the coast or commit suicide instead of running the 10 minutes it takes to hit the NE airfield. I'd suspect the majority of DayZ players at this point won't go anywhere if they can't still see the ocean from where they are.
  12. Like the most: - Zero hackers (that I've noticed). This was my biggest complaint about the mod. - Weapon customization. - Item damage. (Although more items should be found from fresh loot spawns in pristine or worn condition. Most 'badly damaged' items are simply thrown away in real life.) - Huge potential for improvement. Hate the most (I realize most of these will be addressed in the future): - Running 2-3 kilometers only to be reset back to near where I started, but having all controls locked up so I have to Alt-F4 and restart. This happens frequently even on the latest build and is incredibly frustrating. I think it *may* be some sort of anti-cheat detection thinking I've run too far too fast than legally allowed, but I'm simply running long distance without stopping for any reasons. - No respawns. This either means long runs to find any loot, or server hopping. - Almost no weapon variety. - Firearms are "all-or-none" - either you have a very good CQ rifle or high-end sniper (with Long Range scope), or you have a freaking shovel. Definitely need more civilian weapon spawns, especially of the 'starter' firearm variety: Ruger 10/22 and double barrel shotgun are a good start. - No vehicles. Once you're used to making your priority in the mod to find a toolbox, tire, and jerry can to get an ATV moving, running everywhere all the time is incredibly painful. - No tents. This limits reasons to continue finding loot once you've got a good loadout, plus makes respawning more of a pain. - Users ghosting and server hopping, as this seems to be much more frequent than in the mod. - Health/Blood/Hunger/Thirst UI. I prefer the numbers system of the mod.. it makes more sense for what % of a value do you currently feel than waiting for a text message to tell me something vague. As for DayZ in general: What I like: - While the vast majority of the time could be called a running simulator, the 1% of the ultra-high intensity gameplay makes it all worth it. - It's the closest thing we currently have to an open world military simulator. I worked as a software engineer for 7 years on a US Army military simulations system for ground vehicle and RWA (helicopter) training systems. We had thousands of small arms very accurately modeled in both appearance and functionality, and the simulator played very much like DayZ without the looting and zombies. However, PvP was very similar, except the variety in weapons made it extremely fun. - It's not an unrealistic arcade-style shooter like CoD/BF. What I hate: - Melee sucks. Don't force a gimped system when it's clear the engine was designed around firearms. Users should be able to find starter firearms and ammo within 5-10 minutes of playing, and that's simply not the case right now. Here's to hoping the Ruger 10/22 and double barrel shotgun and ammo for both will be found almost as frequently as rotten fruit and burlap sacks. - The public hive. While the idea of the public hive is noble, in reality it has huge disadvantages. It causes significant lag when items are dropped as your current gear 'snapshot' needs to be saved to the hive and the hive has to populate dropped gear to the server. Also, and more importantly, it enables server hopping to re-loot high value areas, along with making ghosting a huge exploit in sneaking up on an enemy's location. I'm looking forward to private hives that play with the default server configuration, but don't have/allow the massive downsides that the public hive system enables. - The animations, while done reasonably well, are too slow for realistic situations. If I'm in a hurry, I'm climbing ladders and vaulting fences MUCH faster than the game's animations. Same for the kneel, prone, stand transitions, or the shift to sprint from standing or jogging, or raising/lowering a weapon. Work needs to be done to speed up these things so they don't feel so clunky in a firefight. - In the mod, some ballistics differences between weapons still needed a lot of work. Also, there is a huge difference in a shooter's ability to fire accurately at medium/long range if they can rest the fore-end of the stock on a fixed object. This doesn't necessarily have to be a bipod.

    Buying question

    "missing features" is misleading You are buying the Alpha now, which means it is work in development. Unless you can deal with random deaths/bugs/no vehicles then I would suggest you wait until the alpha is completed. If however you don't mind, you'll save money now and over time receive updates with new items/fixes etc. Hope this clears things up Regards D
  17. in the mod admins can spawn everything they want, loot, vehicles and even tp.. standalone.... nothing really but kick and restart the server. Easy choice for me.

    Lets talk about the community

    Vehicles, added equipment, and tighter supplies are going to change everything. Right now kos makes sense. I don't do it but I love that other people do, and I kill them happily for it. Later on, after several updates, there will be additional factors in play that change the equation about should I kill or should I not. Kos is risky behavior and can end in the killers injury or death, and in my experience it usually does. Many people would not do this if they're trying to find a wrench to fix their car so they can pick up their buddy who is being tracked by a gang of bandits. Idle hands, devils work, etc. With time the gameplay is going to change dramatically, and probably in some very exciting ways.
  20. Right, People who are playing the SA... Until the game is actually released, is this going to be the game? Or are we going to get updates, e.g when vehicles are sorted out, will there be an update for us so vehicles are on it? Or do we have to wait for release?

I disagree tbh, what I like about this game is that it strives to be a survival simulator and although I'm unsure of the dev's aims and ultimate goals I would love for it to go further than this in terms of being able to manipulate the world through reclaiming old facilities or building/modding buildings and vehicles. Having said this though, as it is a simulator, some tasks require more than one person, simple as that. Although I don't disagree with solo players, I don't think they should be able to achieve the same kind of tasks/activities a group of survivors might try to achieve.

    The reason why i kill on sight now !!

    i normally play a hero in DayZ mod but the fact is there is simply too little to do in the Standalone at the moment. Once you have got all your personal gear theres no real reason to go up to people and try and be their friend. There are no camps or vehicles to work on so the only interesting thing to do is hunt other players. Until the game has more meat to it there will be alot of KOS going on so stop complaining!

  24. For me trading is fine as is. Its an extremely high pressure moment, and always should be. We have a great and varied economy, where one day a car wheel could be worth your sniper rifle and ammo. Then the next day you would happily give away the car, for something as small as a morphine shot lol. Well thats in the mod, but i see it going that way as more loot, vehicles and features in general get added :)

    cars from Arma 2 + some old + new civilians car . I wouldnt have problems with armored tracked vehicles even with turrets and some ammo. But they should be ultimate goals for large group to maintain.
