That is sad. What is even the purpose of this game if you server hop for everything you have? You take all the thrill out about finding nice gear and then being scared to lose it. You make it like: I died, ok. Now I server hop for 5 mins to get it back. You wont even discover map and places, because reason you go somewhere in Dayz is loot. Loot is essential for this game and if you take the essence out by server hopping, you are left with nothing more but wasteland on Arma 2.5 engine with couple of guns and no vehicles (yet). And I agree with elf cakes. In mod times, idiots were quite easy to repair or they just stayed quiet. But now there was a flood which makes them unmanagable. It becomes pretty tiring to read same shit over and over again.

First of all no hummer! Some of the newer cars there are authenticity/immersion killers right there. As well some of the larger military vehicles should be rare like the Ural was in the Mod. Do not want everyone driving around in Dakar Rally vehicles now do we. Also liked the mud mechanics in those Spin Tires screenshots. Maybe something in DayZ could be implemented like some cars cannot drive up some hills/dirt roads/swamps etc or they will wear out quicker. I do like anything before the 90s for civ vehicles and maybe some newer ones that are rare. I've also seen somewhere in a thread a suggestion that vehicles be almost everywhere but parts and fuel are rare. What do you guys think? My two cents.. Sobaka TYS

A beginner's tip that would've saved me if only I knew. If you get sepsis infection, use a disinfecting wipe, then apply bandage to the wound. If you don't have any and need time, try to find antibiotics. Otherwise you will die. Last time I played the Moon was on my South West. Not sure if it's always there. I didn't have time to find the Pole Star so I had to find another solution to get around. Other tip that helped me. Look at the map of Chernarus and try to memorize the big lines of it. The vehicles are located at different spots obviously, unless the server is freshly spawned or the vehicle got destroyed. But try to remember the bigger towns and their location. It's necessary knowledge IMO.

I like this function a lot. But does it take in consideration, driving vehicles and or rubber-banding etc?

This ^ Dean isn't an idiot, we all know that. While 10 minutes is very short and completely ruins the aspect of long group fights (I had a group fight with my team for over an hour yesterday in KAMYSHOVO!), it's also a PLACEHOLDER! The servers are lagging; We all know the servers suck right now and no one wants to play on laggy servers. Temporary fix? Remove dead bodies. You all seem to prefer perma-bodies over fixed servers? This will most likely just stay here until they find the real problem behind the servers (which would include rubber-banding, "RECEIVING", etc.). "but I'm not lagging! These servers are perfect for me!" Good for you! Sadly, not everyone is having the same luck, and they're aiming for the majority of player's here. Anyway; Didn't anyone play DarkRP on Garry's Mod?! NLR - New Life Rule; It was a rule implemented to allow admins to ban any player that came back to the location they died at for revenge, reinforcements, etc... It's supposed to be realistic! If I died IRL and was reincarnated, the chance of me wandering back to some weapon arsenal with vehicles and money that I had personally stored in my previous life would be such a small percentage! Therefore; the chance of you getting a good spawn and being able to get back to your body in time should also be a small percentage! :D Either way; ALPHER PLACEHOLDER!

And what about all the ones that do not? What do you propose we do about them? The "effect on the community" in the mod was dozens and dozens of rogue admins running "join and get kicked" servers, passwording their servers for their clan and friends, randomly restarting the server when firefights didn't go their way or in order to "roll back" vehicle positions if one of their vehicles got stolen, etc. It was a mess and I hope the developers can find a way to avoid it for the SA. Opening up a bunch of tools right now would be a mistake imo.

have they confirmed " Air vehicles" yet? The major issuse with the island is: No variation in terrain or locations. Have you seen one town or village you have seen them all. This gets very boring after some time. When you know everthing on the island looks the same and there is absolutly nothing more to explore. This need to be fixed and the island needs so many new static object buildings or new epic locations for players to explore. Players love to find new locations that does not look the same as the last town/village the just passed by. The ship wreck on the north coast is the only new Static Object building for players to explore at the moment. :o I suggest at least 20 new Static Object buildings. The map needs an extrem makeover, the leveldesigner need to do alot of work and the 3D-Artists need to make a lot of new Static Objects building etc. Then make enviorment work with the gameplay, yes very time consuming. I know. :blush:

I've noticed that certain issues like "Floating Loot" are listed as resolved in the bug tracker but they aren't resolved in game. I still see floating loot often. Also, as far as loot falling through floors, I placed an item on the floor of a one story building yesterday and it never reappeared but this issue is listed as resolved on the bug tracker. I'm just curious if anyone else is having these issues and if so why is the bug tracker inaccurate. I reported an issue (nesting of yellow carry cases) on there a week ago and it hasn't been listed as reviewed or even acknowledged. I think the dev team is doing an amazing job and I love the game, I'm just wondering how others feel about the system and looking for some feedback so I won't have to wonder how these issues are being addressed. I think if people had a clear idea of what it means to report a bug they may do more of that and less coming on the forums to say "OMG420yoloNOscope add vehicles m8!" EDIT: After digging further into the bug tracker, it is obvious that people are putting stuff in there that does not remotely belong there. Perhaps no one is assigned to work on it currently. Some of that stuff should be deleted. I saw that someone had asked a question "If I buy the game and don't like it can I have my money back?" That's not a bug people.

I was thinking about this in the context of setting the edge of the map. A combination of natural barriers (rock faces etc) and a radiation zone with a damaged nuclear reactor visible off in the distance would be a plausible solution to the current rolling hills of nothing. Air vehicles might complicate this.

I'd be happy with a bicycle. Motor vehicles are difficult to repair and maintain post-apocalypse, but bicycles are relatively easy and should be more plentiful.

This is a suppressed M4. Suppressor drops 30-40 dBA from normal firing signature and makes it much harder to estimate the shooter's firing position. Ideal for use inside buildings and vehicles.

I have a question, will you also be doing minecraft style updates in the future eg: an update specifically based on an element of the game for example guns or vehicles or map additions or will you be adding content randomly as it becomes available. -
Keep in mind helicopters are far more valuable vehicles then biplanes ingame. I think biplane could be potential civilian aircraft you could find in large barns in NW fields of Chenarus, rather in risky areas of the airfields. Their limited landing areas also offer better opportunities for people to steal it, rather then try shooting it down on sight and settlers of distant camps and Utes island would find this vehicle useful.

Same. As soon as SA was released i deleted the mod. Didn't see the point. But now after a month or so, the SA is really simple and boring. Seems more polished and areas, but due to its early alpha state, there just isnt much to do at the moment. First thing i noticed after going back to the mod is all the bullshit zombies lol annoying hell outta me. Can't wait for the SA to get more content, and possibly vehicles :P I can see the mod still being popular for at least another year til the alpha changes to beta or something.

Ok, I'm sure most of us are familiar with the train tracks that cover a large portion of Chernarus+, and many of us can't wait until vehicles are added to the standalone version of the game. A mode of quick transport can be very expensive and even a luxury, what if the many rare or unique parts could be put together to fix a train that is broken down somewhere on the tracks. Imagine being chased by a horde and the train pulls into town. The group that controls it are heros, they take you in, give you food, and a trip to the next town over. A few weeks later the train pulls up and you go to it seeking shelter, but bandits bust out ransacking the town and killing everyone. So later you and your gang of friends set up explosives on the track, and when the train comes by you knock it off the rails, destroying it, starting the process over again for someone else to find and repair the train.

Also no auto-hover, even if it is a real thing. No automatic parachutes either. You should have to equip that shit and it replaces your backpack. Anyway, choppers aren't coming for a while if they are coming at all. Do we have any confirmed mentions of Rocket's plans for vehicles? Battle-bus? Specific engine components? -
Change log date: 2014-20-20 #Added a new Trader at hero camp. This hero requires to have SUPER humanity (50000+) And will have Additional weapons/armed vehicles(tanks maybe? - you never know!) that cannot be found anywhere else! #Added new missions to the pack. -6 Helicopter patrols all over the map. Be ware! They can shoot! -4 Paratrooper drops that happen randomly (consisting of 8 paratroopers). Watch the sky! You never know when they will come for you!

Yep the vehicles need and are getting a full overhaul. Personally (although i would love to see it) years of sim racing have taught me that manual clutch just isnt possable on a keyboard. Sure its doable, but it would never feel right at all. Best bet, like others have said is a semi-auto box. Clutch is taken care of but shifting is done by the player. As for helis, i dont like the idea. They are overpowered by a mile, and not just for picking people up. You can scout the entire map edge in around 10 mins. Find and destroy any camps out there in 20. Then be back at base after checking all the mill spawns in 30. What i would like to see is a plane....like the AN-2 that found its way into a lot of mod servers. The advantage/dissadvantage with a plane is its inability to vtol. If they made it a lot harder to land, and the distance required to take off and land was uped, then it couldnt be used the way helis are. Sure you could get from north to south pretty quick, but you are limited on where you can safely land :)

Truth is, I hate killing people its not my way of play style. If I wanted to make an attempt at killing someone, I usually hop on a good wasteland server (no tws) guns and ammo are plenty with vehicles galore. To the OP... I usually try to make every encounter a friendly one. It may be still be hard to communicate with some people but they don't deserve to be shot just because they can't speak english or know where talk button is. If I have spare gear and I'm on the coast I share my gear...maybe even give a bambi my only pristine can opener, or even give him/her 90% of my gear and show them where some water is. Some people just want to kill you and that is that :D

One simple reason, you should not have to "level up" any skills to do anything in game, its not an RPG. What will happen when you die and cant do anything again? Take repairing vehicles for example, if we needed some skills, aka levels, to do this, nobody would be able to do it, because people die all the time lol. This is not an RPG, so no xp, no levels, no skills please :) And please dont use the "we can do it on another server" argument, thats exactly what killed the entire mod off and split the community completely. That is why Rocket is very hesitant to give people the option to mod and have private server, like the mod had, and im betting he has a different version of private servers in mind :) Lol... MMO = Massive Multiplayer Online So if its not a MMO, just what the f*** is it mate? Its massive, its multiplayer ONLY and its online ONLY :) Sounds like a MMO to me lol, but just remember its not a MMO-RPG :) More like MMO-Survival.

True not a giant truck like that, but try to put a couple of tons of sheet metal on a VAS, or any of the other small soviet vehicles, and see what happens to it hehe.
