Overpoch Rules And Guidelines 1) No hacking. This includes exploiting bugs and duping items. 2) Do not camp at or around protected trader cities, this includes following people outside of the trader city and attempting to kill/harass them. You can do this at unprotected trader cities but trolling or griefing is frowned upon. 2.1) No stealing items or damaging things that don't belong to you 2.2) No ramming of vehicles or players in trader areas. 3) Building within 750m of any of the airfields, barracks, high value loot spawn (industrial),traders is prohibited. Note, placing a plot pole stops loot from spawning. 4) No griefing. This subject is often confused. The way we see it is that you have indestructible bases and therefore should be able to protect your belongings/vehicles. If your car is blown up because you did not properly secure it that is bordering on your fault. 5) No abuse towards anyone if you have an issue with a player or clan contact an admin. Respect everyone as you would like to be respected your self. 6) No voice over side chat. 7) No suiciding any vehicles in to player, base or vehicles. No matter how tempting don't do it. 8) Building anything inside of, or blocking off, other player bases is prohibited. You are free to raid player bases provided there is a purpose. No excessive camping bases. 9) Accusations of "admin abuse" will not be tolerated. Issues can be taken up on TS 10) Stealing plot poles from bases or planting them in the wall at a base that you are raiding so that the users cannot build there is not acceptable. Plot poles must be visible when building a base. Placing them inside a wall or in any in-game object which makes it inaccessible is not allowed. If you want to protect your plot pole, wall it in, in a secured room. 11) No callouts of killers location in side chat if you get killed. 12) No advertising of any kind on any game server or TeamSpeak. The above rules will be dealt with on a three strike basis. First offence is a 6hr ban, second offence is a Two Day ban and the third strike is a permanent ban.     This is not just any game. This IS supposed to be a kind of apocalypse survival simulator. I don't think there should be any perks, addons, classes... The character is an average of all people capabilities. About the infinite running: I believe the devs implemented that at the moment just because there are no vehicles at the moment. (This is just a thought, I have nothing against infinite sprint) About the leveling up... Again this is not COD for you to unlock perks and upgrades. You get real XP by playing the game and studying it up with every passing hour of gameplay.

    Potentially. They haven't commented on the "bunker" situation in quite some time. They may have abandoned the idea, in fact, I vaguely remember them saying this. But I could be way off, and have no source to support that. However, the more recent roadmap outlines that construction will take two forms - barricading existing structures and player-created construction. Even if an "end-game" bunker is introduced, 95% of the persistent objects (i.e. tents, backpacks, stashes, vehicles, etc.) will be above ground.

This server is horrible, would never play again, 0/10. -Server has bandwidth issues -Long 5-10 minute load-ins -Broken "Action menu" due to fail devs -Buying vehicles takes 10 minutes due to lag -Also they despawn if the server is lagging too much -Most importantly, HORRIBLE ADMINS They spy on you Teleport to you and mess with your property Delete stuff in trader zones Destroy cities if they do not like you Favor their donating players Have their detonators suck their small penises Liquid (co-owner) banned several members of the server today due to his own personal anger issues Liquid also banned my whole clan, for making jokes about donation RULES: -Do not joke about donation -Do not type fun things in side chat -Do not refer to admins as "bro" -Bikes do not work, OVERALL, I rank this server a 3.50/100, would never play again or recommend. Would rather play Namalsk while naked.

    All of the weapons are exciting. I can't really explain it, but it's just so satisfying knowing that there'll be some guns in the game and you'll be able to find them. Also, I'd count on guns like the P1 being of the more common guns later on. There's no real point in adding something like an M2HB, DShK, or NSV at this point, as we have no vehicles to mount them on. We might get tripods that we can carry around and set up, but that's still a long way off if it ever happens. If you're talking about things like a PKM or M60, then yes, I agree, we should get some. But they won't be (and shouldn't be) added until loot centralization occurs, so that they can be regulated and you won't be seeing Rambo everywhere.
  7. I have around 260 hours on standalone. I have been playing Epoch for the first time (no previous mod experience) and am absolutely loving it. Plenty of gun options, missions, persistent storage, and vehicles make it a far more enjoyable and engrossing game. It does feel easier, but it is much more fun right now.

    IT'S ALPHA! (Game dev cycles)

    It's definitely unconventional, but Bohemia's always worked that way, to an extent. The reasoning behind engine focus is so they can allow a greater amount of and depth to mechanics. I mean, they really didn't need to make the standalone on a new engine if they were just going to add new features. Yeah, they've been focusing on building the engine up, but that's so many of the future elements work well. Working physics and ragdoll simulation, pathfinding, 64bit servers, and all of the optimization they've been doing are necessary for enhanced systems and newer things like vehicles or AI. Again, it's not the conventional model, but to deny the progress they've made because they didn't do it as it's usually done isn't a fair statement. Keep in mind that the "play the game in alpha stages" is also a relatively new model of gaming, so you're getting feedback during the major development stages in addition to the game release. It's going to heavily influence your development schedule. That's why we're getting things like Cowboy Hats or MP5Ks in between updates, because they already have the full staff at work. I'm not saying I support this kind of development layout, but they've made fairly good progress with it thus far, even if it is in engine achievements rather than mechanic achievements, so it's not worth worrying about.
  12. Yes, they plan to do bikes/motorcycles/atvs and MAYBE a small car first. But, 64-bit is crucial to making vehicles work properly so it will come first. 64-bit will allow the server to use more memory, thus letting the server handle more load. Therefore, they can smooth and perfect the physics (since its based off of server tick rate, which is affected by server load), and then cars can be made. Dean actually sent out a tweet that he saw people working on testing the new pathfinding, starting the vehicles, and planning for controls/action menu. I personally hope they put forth LOTS of time towards the model itself. I couldn't stand the way the cars looked in the mod. The little yellow hatchback's interior reminded me of playing an old Need for Speed arcade game from the 90's. And with me being quite a grease monkey, I hope the suspension acts realistically (specifically vehicles with solid axle suspension having true articulation and non of that 3D model stretching crap like in arma 3).
  13. Yes, but please search for similar suggestions before you post. You would have found many existing posts about vehicles, specifically trains. I read somewhere they were going to add bikes before cars... hope that is soon. Sniping someone off a bike sounds like fun.

  16. They shouldn't have cars either because some people don't know how to drive, very unrealistic and silly, check out this guy who never drove before trying to drive. Hope they don't add any vehicles because not everyone knows how to operate them. Hope they don't add tents either, some people don't know how to put up a tent so very unrealistic and silly.   17. I admin for a server and have been getting kicked for multiple different things and each time it says Battleye PublicVariable value restriction #291. Most of the time the temporary vehicles I spawn will instantly delete if they do not delete and I get in it the game will kill me then kick me with the above code. when I log back in I am where I was before I died with all my gear. I am also kicked if I die, it doesn't matter how I die. When I first log on I am able to spawn a permanent vehicle no problem. As soon as I activate my admin menu OR wait a little while it will stop working and only say "starting spawn, stand still to complete spawn." .Also I have JSRS sound mod installed if I join and try to spawn a permanent vehicle it will not spawn at all even after I just logged in. Despite me having removed the additional launch parameters and files from my OA folder this did not fix the Battleye PublicVariable value restriction #291. Removing it only let me have the first 5 minutes give or take to spawn in a permanent vehicle as I was talking about above. Would greatly appreciate if someone could put a finger on the problem at hand. Not sure if anyone else is getting the problem cause when i looked it up there was no information about it.

  19. Meh, it's alpha. I am more concerned with persistent storage, proper zombies with their new AI, vehicles, etc being implemented first. It it disappointing that I get FPS drops on a GTX780? Yes. Enough to make me want to stop playing? No. I get it though, it definitely sucks, but they (the Dev team) have to pick & choose what they want to devote their time & efforts into. So if they wanted to fix performance, that means they lose people and time from another area.

My hope is that all vehicles will eventually be highly customisable - so if they include big fuck-off military machine guns, you could mount them on to a make-shift gun turret you've built in the back of your Lada, or whatever. If they include aircraft, then the same rules should apply: if you have the materials and the tools to fix a gun to it, fine. But we can definitely do without any sort of useable military vehicles. Oh, and if the average-joe survivor comes across a working helicopter and they try to steal it, this should happen:
  22. Servers been running for ruffly a month now, we have about 10-15 regulars but we are looking to expand our player base. Server Features: Insta-Snap Build Self Bloodbag Tow/Lift Godmode Locked Vehicles No Weight Restrictions Static Skalisty Mission - i will go into further details AI Missions and Treasure Hunts Static Skalisty Mission Information We have Skalisty set up as a high loot spawn with a random chance of spawning ruffly around 20-30 AI's protecting the loot. It is all random so everytime you do the mission it is different in its own way. AI also have a small chance to spawn in with Static MG's for taking out Heli's coming in, so beware!   23. Ok, so what you want me to say? That armed or not helis will ruin the gameplay? Make this another arcadey shooter with battlefield series or arma series? That point of view doesnt have base what so ever. Everyone arguing from that point of view (against) has assumption that when implemented it is done without balancing that makes the heli some unmatched deathmachine. TRUE if its done so then its a problem, but why would you make it a problem before its even in? I cant blame you guys against armed helis, when its been joke in many games like battlefield and arma, but you should not confuse those to this game. Then there is party that just dont want because it feel unneccesary in a way or another? They bring helis and make them hard to maintain, repair, fly and all that. Again same argument can be made about allmost every item they bring in after the very basics, one type of food, clothing items... everything after that is just extra and variety to keep people entertained. Thats basically what this heli thing is all about variety in transportation and armament. Every feature in same category (vehicles) have their pros and cons, helis will be just another line in that list. If someone feels they are unnecessary then its fine, but that doesnt mean that they should exclude them from the game entirely when other people might find use for them. Then there is people that want these implemented, me included. They might have their own assumptions of one godly deathmachine, and get disapointed or not. I belong to this group in a way that I try to think this more "realistically" through balancing aspects and features that may affect the outcome. I dont say my point of view is right but I feelt its the most neutral. That is when I think they should bring the helis, but in a way that its balanced through combination gameplay aspects. It's ONLY about the way it is implemented. It is not necessary to expect anything yet, we are in alpha and then in beta where the most balancing happens. When in beta its time to start bitching about issue that ARE in game, not before. There is SO MANY things that could affect the out come how helis are player, armed or not that this conversation isnt really timely right now. If its done "wrong" from my perspective its not implemented at all or its implemented the way it becomes that godly deathmachine that the people against it are afraid. Im fairly confident on devs idea on this game that I dont see that arcadey aspect happening. Points I think on this topic.. Spare parts Complexicity of the maintenance Wear and tear Fuel types for various helis like huey and robinson. Armament ammunition Skill needed to fly etc etc Even with those there is HUGE amounts parameters to tweak and make them to work in this game. They could bring whole ARMA vehicle category and still keep the game in the right track what ever you want to call it "zombie survival sim". Heh, Ever thing of that adding X doesnt automatically transform game from Y to Z? On that note, has this game transformed to some fashion catwalk sim where we can try various outfits when they add new pants?
  24. heres my own answer of what it will take me to start playing again regular and the game to be a succesful transition from the free mod which started all this, vehicles working , base building or some form, zombies working as supposed to no glitching hitting you from 50 ft away. accurate movements aiming no silly sways unneeded realism that actually works against the game being fun. desync lag in areas and acceptable performance. i think most of those can be done and mods like breaking point have most of them done already. hopefully dayz does at some point soon.
