didnt Mean Not FInd Just it Wont Be the only thing you Find ^_^ am From a Rural Area So Whats Available Most Common is Usually Like Barn Reds Navy Blues and Similar I Assume Chenarus Would Be Similar Since it is Rural Farming Towns But Still For every Store Usualy Has at Least 1-3 Cans Stock of all Colors And extra Boxes of the Basic Tones/Neutral Colors and Many Peoples Houses/Sheds would Most Likely Have Cans of Basics To Cover up Patches of Missing Paint on old Vehicles to Protect the Metal or to Paint over Patches of Siding that Need it And so on -

More zombies and I think make them a little more dangerous as well. One screaming sprinting zombie should attract others, for example. But I think the people shooting people on the beach will be taken care of when it's not so easy to sit on the beach and shoot people. A few ways I think/hope this will happen. Hunger. Hunger will be a real threat in the finished game. Desease and illness. The risks for this are gonna be high. You eat some smelling food or drink some stagnant water without purifying it you will get sick. And sickness will kick your fucking ass. You will drop everything you don't need cause you're too exhausted to carry them. You got shot and didn't pull that bullet out and disinfect the wound? You just got sick. You shot someone and stole their loot without paying attention to them? You just got sick cause that person had diarreaha and you haven't disinfected that loot. Sickness should be a really really bad situation to be in. Alone your chances of survival will be slim. Ammo will be rare, getting into a firefight will be a tough decision when all you have is 3 mosin rounds and a pistol mag. There will also be things to work towards like fortifying a house to store your loot and rest. If you get sick and have a place to rest you're chances of survival will be higher. than if you where sleeping outside in the wild. And fixing cars, when you find a car you are gonna spend DAYS fixing that shit and lots of time keeping it running as well. You wont be fueling at the nearest fuel station any more, you'll be siphening car tanks and searching for jerry cans. fixing a car wont be a simple "find wheel, find engine parts, go" anymore, there will be different parts for different types of vehicles, a bus wheel wont fit your motorbike. A motorbike engine part wont fit your hatchback. Hunting will be a big factor too because it will be a good source of food, setting snares and traps about the woods to regularily check, or hunting deer and cow. Though this creates another threat, what if someone finds your snares and waits for you to come collect your food? You just got sniped and are now being cut of to feed that group of bandits. -
It can't be argued by the fact that it's alpha, because it's already being claimed to be permadeath right now. This isn't like vehicles, where they say they will be added. They claim it's already in the game, and it simply isn't. So yes, Rocket is wrong and while it's not the end of the world by any stretch, people fall into this misinformation and perpetuate a weird notion that simply isn't supported by any actual evidence beyond Rocket simply stating something. "They are adding permadeath bit by bit." There's been no work in this direction at all thus far. Maybe it will come, but the fact that they are already claiming it to be permadeath and making no effort after 10 months to actually make it so, implies to me that they truly believe they're using the correct terminology already for something that simply isn't accurate.

I understand wanting to have your clan members in the server, dont get me wrong, we did the same thing in the mod for our community members. What i dont understand is giving people "special rights" because they chose to donate money, like giving them special starting gear, vehicles, items, etc. If people want to donate, they should do it out of they're own free will, and not because they can get a vehicle/gun/vest easier that way imho. That just selling a product and has nothing to do with donations, as donations dont give anyting in return, thats the very essence of donations.

Cars should just plain deteriorate over time without care. This should happen even if the car is being used. Cars should rust over time unless waxed (or something like that). Engine parts should wear out if not oiled regularly. Tyres should have a very small chance to burst. Lots of things like this should happen to cars making them harder to maintain So there is no point in having 5 of them. And once they reach a certain state of disrepair they should despawn or become a seperate unrepairable entity. (but that would only work if cars where implemented like my vehicle suggestion - http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/212383-unrepairable-vehicles-to-spawn-salvagable-loot/) That unrepairable vehicle would stay there for a few more days before despawning.

I was talking with my friend yesterday about vehicles and ways to avoid situation from MOD when all vehicles will stay in forest hidden for a week because somebody "just need that car there". We have realised that previous cleanup mechanic is odd (vehicles were deleted if their position weren't updated for a week) because somebody can enter a car, drive it 5 meters forward and it have cleanup timer reseted. So we agreed that odometer counter would be great option in game: Something like this: This would allow a lot of stuff. Modders can use it for something. Maybe car parts life and decay could depend on this? Even filling up a tank can be countable, if I fill a tank with 20 liters and car burns 7 liters (fuel burned by different cars can vary) per 100km i can run about 300km, which can be easily calculated using a car odometer. This would also be visual improvement, awesome to see counter rolling while driving.

I completely agree with this, there needs to be more "story" in the world. Here is something I posted in a thread I made about looting car parts, it was about how car parts would spawn while keeping the amount of useable vehicles down. But this part of it is relevant. -------------- Non drivable vehicles would be more common, much more common 50-100 per server but they would be in such a state that they could never be repaired. Some of the conditions these vehicles would be found in are - Completely totaled on a building or into a tree at the side of a road - anywhere Burnt - anywhere Shot up by military - near military bases Full of dead zombies and rotting flesh - mostly in cities Rusting to pieces - near the coast or in the woods -------------- I was stuck between them spawning in different locations like choppers do or them being in the same place and X% of them spawning loot on restart. I was unsure because if they moved every restart it would seem strange. Though thinking about it, some of them could be static and some of them could move! The crashed cars for example, it's possible that they only crashed yesterday meaning that they could be random spawn while others, like the burnt cars and ones full of dead zombies/people would always be in the same place. I was thinking that these cars would show story, find a car that crashed into a tree? there should be a dead person in the drivers seat and maybe some valuable loot in the boot. Find a car full of dead people/zombies, there should be valuable loot but you would need to disinfect or take on a high risk of infection. Top notch post Xbow!

This is stupid, it's punishing people for not playing the way you want them too. I agree that KOS is out of hand but I don't think that punishing people for it is the way to go. There should be incentive *not* to kill everyone you see. What can they offer you, what can you gain from not killing them? A few examples of things that will help with this. ------------------------------- I was talking on reddit about salvagable parts from non drivable vehicles (I also made a thread about it here) the other day and someone pointed out that if they saw someone looting one of these cars for parts, they might think that they have a vehicle somewhere that they are trying to fix. Suddenly, there is hope of a vehicle, one of the rarest things in the game (this is assuming they would be. 10 per server, max). The goal isn't to shoot this guy and take his stuff anymore, it's to follow him and find out where it is or team up with him and help him fix it. ------------------------------- Caches/bases. If someone is looking pretty geared up and walking around in the forest or a small town, you may think that they have caches or a base nearby. And so the best thing to do isn't to shoot on site anymore, it's to follow them and find out where they're hiding their loot. Bases will also promote team work. I'll paste part of one of my comments from another thread to show what I mean. >I also think a detterant to smashing on a door with a sledgehammer will be zombies *and other players* (in the finished game, not as they are now) there should be more of them and they should have some way to respawn (or just a fuck tonne of them to begin with, 50 in a small town). So if you wanna smash that door down, you better have two or three guys ready to fend of the horde. and >If I'm making a house I am gonna make it so that a fresh spawn cant get in. The best way to raid a house would be with a squad. If you where doing it solo you would want to do it with lockpicks (which should be rare) and the risk would still be high cause if you get your leg caught in a bear trap your gonna be immobilized and probably scream and all the zombies in a 50m+ radius are gonna hear you. *to clarify, I suggested booby traps should be possible, for this reason* ------------------------------- I think there should be benefits and downfalls to each style of gameplay, but they should be real world consequences. Not emotions and things that effect stats.

(we sometimes take players to 'quarintine zone' or a camp, and we will try not to let people die) WE DO NOT USE BATTLE EYE, We use a better anti hack for Epoch. (battle eye is too glitchy with the scripts we added) //Admin Events Admin Events happen mostly every day, the events will be put in global chat (by admin) and there will be a meetup point. If you are there to kill us- you will be kicked, then banned. The events end with player getting loot, you most likely will not die in the events, and the events are all roleplay based. //Rules No cheating with scripts or mods No KOS (kill on sight). you can kill once you made contact, you may not kill the victim if they are complying to a robbery. Glad you liked it! Right now I'm focused towards the first release, but then I'd like to extend the app including the possibility of having multiple "characters" (one for each hive) and also linking multiple Steam accounts together, so that you can create real "trade companies" with your friends. As a developer, instead, I'm excited to provide data that could be used to tweak the loot economy itself (I've talked about that in previous episodes). For instance, they could understand that after the introduction of a certain game mechanics (who said vehicles??) tools can become more valuable than guns. In particular they could know that a simple "wrench" is valued like "3 mosin", etc. Cool! -
I hope with the dam, that when vehicles are implemented that you'll be able to actually drive over it! So many mod memories of quads doing massive flips when trying to cross the old dam. Overall looks great, really love the atmosphere of the sleepy fishing hamlet.

Get the mod.....fire an AKM in the middle of Cherno, enjoy the relentless never ending stream of zombies :) They have always said they want more zeds, as mentioned they threw around the number 3000. If I remember though that was in a build without loot. Zombies and loot items both count towards the servers "item cap" so they will have to balance it out, im sure we will see more but they cant do too much heavy optimisation until they have all the features in, knowing what resourses they have to work with ect. Expect a lot more Z's its finished as for an endgame, unique items is a good one, but I think that will be in anyways in the form of loot rarity and global item cap. Vehicles and basebuilding will supply a brilliant endgame aswell. But for me should be no defined endgame, freedom to do what you want as an endgame is part of dayz, for one person could be making a camp, another farming, another PvP. If its defined in any way we loose that freedom -

I play as if there is humanity as a gameplay element. I keep score within. I RP this way as purist survivor. I don't play many shooter games but I was hooked on Resident Evil from the beginning. This feels like it has the potential to be some sort of open world Resident Evil with even more health factors and random evil players who try to kill me! Imagine a 20yr S*T*A*R*S* veteran (see: Biohazrd JPN on PS1) washed up on a beach after a world wide rage zombie infection. I'm basically "chaotic good", I guess. I was zombie hunting, with a side of bambi assist/hero in the mod a lot. As a lone wolf in the mod I had month long characters with multiple vehicles, camps, and over 1,000 zeds dead, Fred. With broken and less zombies in the game, I haven't really been able to continue my mission of cleansing the Earth of the unholy hordes. One day, when the sun shines a little brighter on dusty ol' Chernarus, I'll have me lots and lots o' smelly flesh ripping zeds to lobotomize. -
That's not even counting the back-end stuff like security enhancements, the more robust server/client interaction, vastly superior UI, network bubble and other things. Not to mention when features like barricading and vehicles actually are released they're going to be infinitely better than in the mods. I've said it before and I'll say it again: people vastly over-estimate the mod and look back at it through rose-tinted glasses all of the time. It had major issues and limitations same as the standalone.
