    When the map is clustered with towns ...

    Plenty of OPEN woods where you can see tents from 1km away ;) In the mod there already was a limit of GOOD places and with Chernarus+ its even worse. ON top of that the map has become way to small to have helicopters(try hiding those). They need to add Celle2 without roads and cities to add a massive amount of forrest where you CAN have tents and vehicles without them being spotted within 12 hours.

Hi my friends and i have come across a pvp fallujah server that seems to be a copy of the quez.ca server, Since the quez server went down a while ago we have not had much to play,Now we have found this its fallujah all the way.Keep in mind this server has no zombies and has weapons and vehicles all over ther map i recommend everyone who likes to snipe, shoot from helos and mow players down in 50 cal hummers to give this a go. The more players the more fun this will be i remember quez.ca being very popular and was allways a full 40/40 server i would like to see this server do the same. Good Morning To the DayZ Mod Community, Yesterday i purchased a DayZ server for one reason to bring back the Vinilla Mod and have the right gameplay as it should be. we have a 25 slot server I will be upgrading once i get 10+ players. we have a dedicated clan on our server called *The Brutals*, we have all the old things in dayz and a few other things i will list down below. Okay, so lets begin with the good things in the server. Vehicle Count - 150, AND 3 HELI'S. No Custom Buildings a part from the ones in the new dayz update! that was included. Best anti-hack around to support players! and an active administrator team. Animated Heli Crashes - 10 spawn around the map 3 hour restarts! HIGH FPS, due to our coder Jimmy removing / fixing things. Day And Night Cycle -1 GMT. Moon Nights may change to Pitch black nights depends on suggestions. Teamspeak 3 - 184.171.165.221:9990 SERVER IP 216.245.200.234:2322 DDoS Protected! We are going to keep the Addons on the bases dayz in , we are not a server that you can go to elctro and grab a dmr, alice bag ect. go up north to get action.loot tables have been changed so you need to go north to get loot. there are no vehicles on coast to go north to re/pair one. we do NOT OFFER CUSTOM LOADOUTS! but we do offer a custom skin as known as a donator skin that only donaters can have.

    Why I don't like DayZ

    couldn't agree more. I often hear arguments that the devs should limit/restrict what private servers are able to do and I think that is really the LEAST productive possible avenue for all involved. trying to ram your vision down people's throats simply wont work and you'll either have to over-complicate every tiney thing thus driving away 75% of the players. or just let people playing for the servers provide what their players WANT to play. For those of you who want a more cooperative or less "griefy" experience there will be servers, and for those who want to PvP there will be servers. and for those who want to run in huge clans things that work similar to epoch will be appealing (economy, fortification, ability to aquire MANY vehicles, etc. all pander to large group play). does it divide the community? absolutely- and that's fine. let people play their own way instead of forcing people who hate playing with each other to exits in one narrow vision of what the game can be.

    Any Roadblocks?

    This reminds me of smth. When vehicles are added, players must be able to shoot from them (even inside them, for if an intruder trys to enter my car. I remember now a fun story from the mod xD). And I hope also prone and crouch actions will make players cover themselves when in vehicles...
  9. Vehicles were the best part of the mod. The first time me and a mate fixed a chopper (after maybe 4/5 hours of part finding and fueling) will always be one of my most memorable DayZ moments....all 15 seconds of it until I crashed us into the ground and blew us the f*** up.

    Getting Players To Leave Spawn

    Yes it would so when vehicles do arrive I'm sure they will spread spawn points across the map , cuz like in real life you can find cars anywhere . so I hope that they put cars everywhere including the coast , but make them ridiculously hard to get running again . That way people can spawn all over the map and the ones that spawn far north won't have a better chance of getting vehicles (like in the mod , cars were always up north) and in my opinion I believe most of the vehicles should be very close to rust buckets and they should (mostly) be situated around the shore (as if the whole continent were trying to evacuate to boats and such). But when barricading, hunting , an vehicles come in people will surely be going inland and not just for the airfields , but to maybe find a house they like deep north and barricade it , also the majority of animals would mostly be in the north (considering its all woods anyways) .
  11. Yeah, I personally don't think they should be rare at all, but they should be hard to fix, since vehicles repairs will be very detailed. Just finding a car will not be something exciting as fixing it is the big deal, not finding it. Its more likely you would find a more working car hidden in the woods by another player that has already fixed one, than trying to fixed a broken one in a spawn point in a town or something.

    Any Roadblocks?

    Hi, just wanted to ask/comments about road blocks. Since Standalone doesn't have any I was wondering if they were going to be added at all. The roadblocks we saw in the mod were really good in my opinion, but they were mostly for vehicles, it was what made vehicles think their way through a town or take a small amount of time going around just to get through, giving oporunities to ambush, crash and dich your car in the middle of the town for other people to find and fix and so. With no roadblocks cars will just fly through towns with little to no risk of getting jumped by whoever is in the town. I don't remember hearing or reading anywhere about roadblocks coming back, I would understand it is something to look into adding later on when vehicles are implemented, but has there been anything mentioned about it? Thanks.
  13. As a player who has played the MOD since it first came out, I'll tell you this. Maybe you SHOULD hate the game a little. I'm not condoning shooting fresh spawns or whatever, I only shoot first if I feel threatened. Anyways what I'm asking you to do is to examine why people are driven to just shoot people. With DayZ being an early-access game as we begged for it to be, theres an extreme lack of content. You can get fully geared in less than an hour if you know the routes to run. Once you have one of the 4-5 primary guns, what do you do? There are no tents to try to store gear in, no vehicles to look for and slave away repairing. So what do you do? Most people just seek some use for these guns and ammo. Sure, playing hero is challenging and can be rewarding, but most players find it easier to just take some target practice. You gotta see the mindset of the people you are criticizing.

    You don't need to imagine, install experimental. However, when we have vehicles i think more than 100 will be too much too. Maybe we should start to cry for a x4 sized map to devs ...
  16. Hey people , We have after much thought again opened a DayZ server thatcurrently runs on 20 slots until it is full of a bit . Then it is increased to 40 /50.The server is currently running on the Epoch version 1.0.4.2 and has a total of (already) 8/20 players. The features of the server are : -1000 + Vehicles- Armored Vehicles ( maximum is Vodnik BPPU , so you as an infantry still has chances)-Halo jumps at Spawn-Three very active admins-Safe Zones for Traders-AI Missions-AI City-Goldmine-From the Editor - insertable Bases for clans- More Military Loot-Self Bloodbag-Take Clothes-Anti Backpack stealing ( Trader zone)-Auto kick for voice in Sidechat-Admin Events-Added weapons-Teamspeak/Channel For clans-Anti - Hack-Car Refuel-Program for in-game purchases-Special Vehicles(like only 5 Little birds with rockets and miniguns on the map , unbuyable )-Killmessages-Evacuationhelicopters-Selfbloodbag -Salvage modification to remove every part -Snap Building -Wrecks with Loot -New Traders & Changes -No Tow on locked vehicles -Vehicle Master Key Name of Server: - Resurrection of the Dead - server_ip : -217.198.132.22:2302 The Teamspeak IP is displayed ingame.     Zombie horde from the north

    The mod has always had a gameplay model whereby the zombies spawn in towns, although I remember there was an update used very briefly which had zombies spawning in the countryside. It was taken out for performance reasons, if I recall, and I miss it; it made the forests a little more dangerous. I used to play a flight sim called Aces High, which had a terrain-holding system. Once one of the game's three factions took and held a certain percentage of airbases, the map was "won" and reset. I've been pondering a similar model for DayZ. My suggestion, and this involves adding some features that can be turned off if required: 1. Rework the current zombie spawns so that the server admin can set the zombie spawn rate, from zero to lots. This lets the server admin implement "classic" DayZ if he wants, or alternatively have a map with no zombies at all. 2. Block off the northern edge of the map so that the players can't access it. Cover the dividing line with a radiation / plague zone that kills the player if he gets too close, as in STALKER. This would also solve the problem of the map having a visible edge, which has always been one of the game's bizarre reality-breaking features: "Hey, why don't we make it an island, like in Operation Flashpoint? Or put in radiation zones, like STALKER?" "No, that would be unrealistic. STALKER is science fiction, DayZ is reality. Let's make the terrain come to a dead halt instead. Just like in real life." 3. Optionally spawn zombies north of that line. The server owner can set the spawn rate, again from zero to thousands. These zombies are given the goal of walking towards the southern shore, perhaps flocking towards Cherno and Elektro. if the zombies breach a certain threshold for a certain amount of time, make it so that the map is "nuked" by the authorities and (a) all the players are killed ( b ) their tents, vehicles etc are destroyed in a blinding white flash of nuclear fire. Thus giving the players an incentive not to simply kill each other. Perhaps have it so that the zombies are given the goal of demolishing the hospital or the central government building in Cherno, and if they succeed - simply by whacking it with their fists, thousands of fists - the map is declared lost. The admin has power over the zombie spawn rate; if he sets it to zero, the map will be essentially Classic DayZ. In combination with point 1 the admin could turn off all the zombies all over the map, turning it into a player-vs-player funfest. Voilà. The idea is that if the players do nothing or just fight amongst themselves, the map will eventually become overrun with zombies and then everyone will die and lose everything. Initially the southern half of the map will be zombie-free, but over time all the loot will be scooped up, and the players will be forced to head north. At which point they run into a zombie horde, so they'll have to fight hard to get what they want. The key things are (a) determining the performance hit of having thousands of persistent zombies on the map ( b ) giving the server admin power to turn these features on or off as required. I would pay for that game. I would pay again for that game.
  18. I love unique areas on the map, the ship, the tower blocks, the destroyed town, even that tiny scrapyard who's location I can never work out but that I always seem to stumble upon. It would be great to have some more so here's my suggestion for two new unique places: 1. Civilian Airport: IMO Balota is a big mistake. Putting all that military loot right on the coast was asking for trouble and was probably one of the main reasons the south coast spawns were scrapped, which again IMO was a shame. I also think that it just doesn't make sense, a large military airfield just minutes away from the local capital and within eyeshot of large residential towerblocks? It seems unlikely to me. And on top of that there are too many military areas on the map generally. So I suggest that Balota Military base becomes Balota Airport! Now a civilian airport right next to the local capital makes perfect sense and it would be an interesting location. It would not have to be anything fancy, a single building for checkin/checkout, a carpark, some civilian aircraft hangers, maybe a few storage buildings and obviously an airstrip. It would be a great place to find backpacks, police/security-guard gear and the carparks and hangers would be great place to find parts when vehicles are implemented. Here are some pictures of the kind of buildings I mean: Main Building: Civilian Hangers: 2. Lumber Factory EDIT: The 'lumbermill' in berezino doesn't really do justice to the whole abandoned factory in the woods thing im going for here so i'd still class this as a unique area. Its reasonable to assume from all the forests and small towns that this region would have a lumber industry. I think a large lumber factory would be a great location on the map. There is something magical about huge abandoned factories in a horror setting, and lumbermills in particular just seem to hit the right spot. In the game it would have great utility and would be the place to go for high quality base building tools and materials. As for the location, I suggest in the forest far up north that lies centrally on the horizontal axis, the one above Devils Castle and Gvodsno. As for the layout and design. I think the lumbermill from Twin Peaks would serve as a great model.     More sniper rifles

    That's why we need realistic bullet mechanics, and the SVD along with its magazines and attachments need to be acceptably rare. Even though there's no real situation I'd ever take a Mosin over an SVD, it's not like the SVD is going to be available 24/7 and you can handload ammo into the Mosin vs requiring a magazine for the SVD which may be very difficult to find. If they add grenade/rocket launchers, you can (pretty much) be rest assured that they will be rare and ammunition be even rarer, so "spam" will be entirely worthless if you even managed to get enough to do that. Also, launchers like the M72 LAW can only be fired once, meaning that screwing up removes you of a very valuable weapon. We probably don't need any launchers until vehicles are added, though (except maybe the underbarrel grenade launchers, since they've already finished those)

    Dead players turn to zombies?

    I would love to have both in game. You see a zombie and you realize he was a human a short time ago. Now you see that zombie still has a backpack ^^ go and loot. I think both the ideas will be reality sooner or later but for now there are other things to be done first. Vehicles, cooking, throwing - these systems are not easy to write and I will let devs make them done first

    US 3480 - Banned Players

    To whom this may concern, Today I was playing with my friends and we were playing decided to roll with a party bus. We were minding our own buisness, driving to stary, elektro and such. We took a stop at NWAF which led us to find a biplane which was working and full of gas. We then flew around for a while and got bored so we decided to fly up to debug in the top left. We flew up there and found alot of vehicles that were stored up there but on diff places on the actual map. Please note that at this time we did not know that this was not allowed. So I loaded a few guns into a select car (Offroad) that we wanted to take with us. I loaded a m4 holo, a mk48, a m14, and a m4 sd into the car. I then got into the car and was randomly teleported somewhere on the map where the actual car was. I didn't think too much of it and continued playing. Shortly after, about 45 minutes, I was interupted by a ban that said something about a script restriction. Honestly I am not very "tech savy" and have no clue what this actually means... So I had my buddy Defiant go on the knight ts and talk to Unbroken and he told us what this all means. But, I am not quite sure how else I could have banned other than doing the stuff in debug.
