  2. edit: Issue has been resolved and explained in this thread. As of 1.8 i have had some issues getting more vehicles to spawn statically so after some time and data entering I've created a table of Vehicle Spawns based loosly on this map here: http://dayzdb.com/map/chernarus. There are 69 vehicles in this table but you can add/remove as much as you want as long as you follow the object_spawns table. Nearly all vehicles have no fuel and data has been based off object_spawns table. So you may want to also change this data to your liking. To install just replace blank table with this one. Locations and vehicle info should save if your server is set up correctly. Download just rename to .SQL object_data.sql.txt This can also be used for other maps too, you just need to modify the Worldspace column.
  3. I'm running latest dayz mod server vanilla, no vehicles are spawning I'm guessing it's turned off by default as I have not made any changes anywhere, can someone point to where I can set vehicle spawn to true so they can be spawned and saved by players?

    Scavenging wire from vehicles

    I try to trap alot of rabbits for food. Wire seems scarce these days. Got me thinking of alternative sources. Rummaging through wrecks for scrap wire could be a neat feature. Perhaps not as strong as snare wire but still useful to trap with.

    Fix this shit game

    As long as this game has been out and not having very basic mechanics working properly. Crawling through unbroken windows into building and pushing a team mate through small areas, vehicles are absolute shit still just to name a few the list is long than anyone would ever want to post how tf has this game not entirely died out. I think the modded community alone is keep this game alive. And my one question I have is how have I been deving my own game for about a year and a half and coming from no coding experience or prior game dev did I make a better vehicle system than a game that's been around for many years could do. I've literally tested my game with 30 ppl on it and don't have the sort of desync issues that this game has. I think the coders don't know how to code and that this enfusion engine the game runs on is utter shit. Dear dayz devs let this trash game die and make something better and give this entire community an apology for relasing such a half assed thought out project that is such trash.
  9. There needs to be the ability to pull unconscious or dead players out of vehicles. Currently there is no way to help an unconscious friend who in a vehicle, you can't bandage them or administer aid. Getting in a vehicle and occupying the same seat kicks dead players out (have not tested on unconscious) but that is more of a glitch than a feature. It is also not useful if you don't have the required amount of players to fill the available seats (for instance the back of a truck, the upcoming bus etc). The ability to administer aid/interact with a player who is in a vehicle without them needing to get out (provided you have direct access to them) would be nice as well.

    ERROR World Cords

    Hello, since the update 1.19 I have more and more the same error. So far, this has not been noticed because it had previously only referred to animals. For 3 days now we have advised our players not to use the vehicles (regardless of whether they are vanilla or modded). Apparently, for inexplicable reasons and without any indication of the origin of the error, the server cannot locate the position of vehicles and animals, too, and assigns them a new position. Unfortunately, we cannot explain why this is happening at the moment. If necessary, I can give you an .RPT file, where you can find the error accordingly.     Fix this shit game

    What do you like in this game? Three years ago I bought dayz sa livonia playing it occasionally. Yesterday I changed the server and choosed accidently a server with chernarus+ map. All this time I did not know that I can also play chernarus as a livonia buyer. All my memories came back when walking from the coast to the airfield. Because ten years ago I played all day until late at night chernarus with the dayz mod. I miss all the vehicles and the helicopter. I even looked for the green bicycle standing against the wall of a house. Or where is the plane that regularly drops packages at the airport to fight over. There are hardly any vehicles or no motorcycles to repair. I spent most of my time doing repairs, only to be finally shot down at the last moment. Where is the quad that you could race across the fields. You had to be careful though because of rocks and bumps. There was so much action. No question, the new map looks great with the weather system, yet it seems dead and abandoned to me now. For nostalgic reasons, I even have the Dayz mod music playing in the background. Imagine arriving at the airport at night and suddenly sounds 8:30. I still don't understand why there wasn't an effort to provide everything Dayz Mod offered just with the new graphics engine.

    Personally, I think the darkness is pretty close to ideal, simulation-wise. However, servers going empty is a problem. I'm not sure what the answer is, but craftable NVGs are not a thing in real life. I was only going to suggest putting green and red lights on the vehicles so that we know which way they are flying at night.
  13. Dear DayZ Devs, I've been playing DayZ for over a year or so and I've loved it a lot. The only problem is your base building and lack of squad functions. I ended up uninstalling it the other day. If you update the game I will come back. 1) Base Building I spent 3 months building a beautiful base with tons of walls, 2 towers, 6 tents, 2 trucks, and 2 cars. It's in the middle of the forest no where near any towns or cities. I had all my gear in there and if I died I'd head to my base to gear up. I'd also do supply runs to keep the base stocked. One day I caught two guys trying to break into my base and killed them easily. Then I came back the next day and my entire base was destroyed. Vehicles all gone, all gear spread across the ground or stolen, it was horrible. There's no way for me to defend my base when I'm not there and it's too easy to lose everything. I want some sort of turrent or base defences I can build. I wasted 3 months building that base only for it to be destroyed. GONE. PLEASE ADD SOME WAY TO DEFEND YOU BASE SO WE DON'T WASTE MONTHS BUILDING A BASE ONLY FOR IT TO BE DESTROYED IN ONE EVENING WHILE I HAPPEN TO BE LOGGED OFF. PLEASE. 2) Squad Function In COD I can form a squad, friendly fire is off (or on depending upon the mode). In DayZ there is literally no squad or even just a friend system. Every single person I've met in the game shoots me on site, even when I try to put out the white flag and say I'm friendly and want to work together to form a squad. I don't know anyone outside of the game that I can play with so I'm stuck ALWAYS playing completely alone. None of my gaming friends play this, they're all on COD. And I can't make friends in DayZ because people just shoot you on site because of the way you designed this aspect of the game. PLEASE ADD SOME KIND OF 'SQUAD UP' SYSTEM WHERE YOU CAN INVITE PEOPLE OR ACCEPT INVITES TO SQUADS WITH OPTIONALY FRIENDLY FIRE ON OR OFF. PLEASE. As I said, I have uninstalled the game after playing it for over a year. I REALLY like the game outside of these two things. I just makes me so angry when I spend hours, days, or even months (in the case of bases) working on my character only for someone to shoot me in the back or destroy everything I have in one day while I'm logged off. Up to you if you want me back. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has uninstalled your game because of this. I noticed you're player count has gone down drastically. Maybe if you improved these two aspects of the game, you might not lose all your players and the game could stay alive. Anyway, there's my two cents. I'll wait and see if you want me back or not.   15. Vehicles , first iteration. (Experimental) I wanted to preface this, as we are going out with vehicles this soon into their implementation, only to be sure that performance impact is as expected and we can continue on this course. Currently the vehicles (as a feature) are very rough, however the underlying structure is there. Ranging from visual bugs, to physics issues. You can expect anything. We are aware of most of them. Although the data for parts and some tech is there, the systems need to be configured. You can expect to drive the vehicle, use it for transport of you and your codriver from point A to point B. However for this experimental you dont need to repair anything and you can find vehicles easily. This will not be the case later in their development. We increased the number of available vehicles by a great amount so you can have fun and break them. Many issues are part of polish that will happen over time. Some of them are critical, thus will have higher priority. Please use our feedback tracker for any specific cases, with as much data as possible. It does help. Now to the core of the problems that you can expect with explanation of each and every one (Most of the systems have been rewritten and the development time has been invested into having proper underlying tech for the modules of the new engine) 1. Animations Wheels overturning is visual bug with animation source and simulation itself . Its annoying, however we do have to ignore it for this experimental. As for other animation bugs. We removed the move in/move out animation for the release and will fix the issues we were having with its implementation. The wheel and doors are animated however the visuals themselves might change. 2. Ragdoll/Collision/Physics Most of it is tuning of all the knobs (weight,suspension,force, and a lot more etc.) and finding solutions for problems that are out of the normal range. The results can be go from minor to catastrophic, like, vehicle moving from shooting, player force moving a vehicle, not having right friction and sliding improperly,getting stuck and killing the codriver sometimes. But than again its just tuning (and that takes time). The system is there and its robust (bullet sdk). Some of it is rare, some of it is much more common. Just understand that it will be better in next few weeks 3. Damage system The vehicle can be damaged , however its rather rudimentary and only a placeholder effect. With more advanced underlying tech introduced later. 4. Driving model The driving model (sliding and general feel of driving) is again matter of tuning. The underlying system is there and it works well. But it needs more time and dedicated work for the feel to get right. That is a big part of our work on vehicles. 5. Clipping Expect a lot of clipping issues with player gear and objects around in the game. It can range from minor to major issues. 6. Sounds All sounds are placeholders before we set up a proper recording of v3s. 7. Persistence Cars will be persistent in the future (once they are made of parts and repaired). This implementation however focuses more on data gathered from any desync or interaction with network code. 8. Crashes Client crashes can happen, and will happen. Be aware that you can run the client with the option of -dologs to create crash dumps that can be attached to feedback issues. If you do encounter them please report and give us as much information as you can. I will try to answer some questions but I do have and update to prepare so please be patient.

    Been playing on a modded server (while we're waiting for Arma 4 🙂 ), and have found that some players appear to be using exploits/hacks to accurately shoot players inside closed up self built Bases.     Tents and Vehicles Wiped

    I played for a couple hours on the same server with persistence on and managed to acquire a vehicle and two tents. The server had lost connection while I was driving and I came back to the server on my feet with no vehicle, my tents with all my gear gone without a trace. I obviously, just as much as anyone else, would not desire to play on such a server and I would like to find out why this happened so that I may find a server where all my progress isn't wiped every few hours.
