So I was travelling up to Solnichy, when I managed to find a military truck absolutely FULL of all kinds of military weapons (DMRs and some silenced rifle that I am not sure is even able to spawn in DayZ). Nevertheless, I took up position near the vehicle and managed to snipe two of its owners (by the name of Dima and his friend barstarzzz). I thought I had found the jackpot and I was waiting for my friends to get on. Soon "Dima" returned, TWICE within a timeframe of around 10-15 mins, loaded with a coyote backpack (that's right) a DMR, and a silenced rifle (and all tools currently available). I know this because I managed to kill him twice as he was trying to hijack one of the vehicles (there was a bus and a tractor there too). I understood that it is absolutely impossible to get ahold of that gear in such a small timeframe, and I soon realized this must be some sort of hack. I looked it up and I think these guys were using a script similar to the one in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uRfMbjMdMw). This happened around 00:00 to 00:30 (GMT+1). I am currently equipped with their equipment (DMR and revolver only, I dropped the silenced rifle in fear of a ban). Should I drop everything that they spawned, or is it okay if I hold on to it? Edit: I should also add that when I killed them, it registered as friendly fire.

no but they should add some kind of bolt cutter...or anyone who got a tool-box should be able to cut that wire fences off. Get a toolbox. Done? Ok. Now, aim at the wire fence, but not in the fence, in that sort of stick it has, to keep it up. Now, use the mouse wheel, and continuously approach it, until the option "Remove Barded Wire (CAT1)" - I believe that's it - appears. Select it and you are now removing the fence. Works with sandbags as well, but not sure if that's with toolbox or entrenching tool. Keep in mind that some options like vehicles fixing and removing that sort of stuff is bugged, so you have to walk towards it until the option appears. Hope it helped.

The end of a long day, recovering vehicles and after a trip to NWAF, we're offloading the car into the tents, and i get into the driver's seat to take the car to our secluded vehicle park. Except I didn't get in the car. I threw a M67 frag at it. Desperately casually slow walking away, I screamed at my keyboard and monitor as the grenade went off. Hoping it cleared the wire and detonated harmlessly outside the camp, I turned to look. The lovely little care was immolated. The fire could be seen for a mile around. Was the 5.56 ammo still in the car? Shit.

Just a few weapon & Vehicle suggestions that are mostly of Czech or Russian origin with a few additional vehicles. Weapons Skorpion Vz.61 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0korpion_vz._61 - Known in Arma II as the Sa.61 Scorpion, could effectively be a Russian analogue to the Micro Uzi / PDW currently in-game but takes the common Makarov ammunition instead with a 20 round magazine capacity and options for a semi or full auto fire mode, very weak taking 3-4 shots to kill a zombie without a headshot. M16A1 - http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110119211130/homefront/images/a/a5/M16a1.gif - Functions as a full auto/semi-auto version of the M16A2, comes with a 30 round STANAG magazine and takes STANAG magazines. Should not come with a Grenade Launcher or a Scope and instead be left as a base weapon. SKS - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SKS - Semi-auto rifle with a 10 round clip. Takes AKM magazines which can be converted into 3x magazines worth of ammo. SKS "Clips" hold 10 rounds and three can be converted into an AKM magazine. Mosin Nagant - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosin_Nagant - Bolt Action Rifle that uses SVD Ammo which can be converted to create 2x magazines worth much like how the DMR magazine can make 4x magazines worth for the M24. Can feature a scoped variant but should be very rare. RPG-7 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPG-7 - Russian Analogue to the M136 currently in Day-Z, reusable but extremely loud, slow to reload and rare, ammunition comes in two forms, an Anti-Personnel OG-7V Rocket and a Anti-Tank PG-7VR Dismantled Machine Gun - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PK_machine_gun - A dismantled Machine gun that can be found in a box and attached to certain vehicles as a mounted gun holding 1000 rounds once installed, resembles a Russian PKM Machine gun. Ideal vehicles which it can be fitted to include the Off-Road Pickup Truck and V3S Civilian Truck. Vehicles Technical - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technical_%28vehicle%29 - An off-road pickup truck outfitted with a heavy machine gun on the back that holds 500 rounds of ammunition. Different from the "Dismantled Machine Gun" as the weapon is also already pre-attached but is larger and more powerful than that weapon. Vodnik - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAZ-3937 - A Military Armoured Car that can be found at Airfields and Military Barracks, extremely rare and requires alot of materials to repair (like most vehicles) includes a machine gun with 1000 rounds. Microlight - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microlight - Single person aircraft that can be found at Airfields. Requires a few building materials but allows for broad island travel. Not very fast and not very well protected also extremely loud.

Oh yea, you ruined Christmas for me dude! I shot one guy who was laying in a tree I think causing him to bleed, then I headshotted another guy with the kobra... i was about to move to scope the area out and down I go 1 shotted. We have a group of players with 3 or 4 really experienced players and 4-5 beginners who we use as bait :P. We're very self-sufficient players.. we have a nice sized camp and we collect vehicles regularly (although they are a pain to keep because the server resets them so often.) I do admit I have some trust issues with this game but I'll talk to the guys tonight to see if they are interested in an alliance... I personally have been looking for a bigger/stronger group so we can do bigger things and have more cover for some heavy duty areas like NW airfield. I'm pretty sure they will go for it!

Blowing up vehicles doesn't do anything really since when the server resets they will be right back at full health. -
i'd rather see an expansion of civilian items, both for weapons and vehicles, rather than military. a couple more rifles or handguns, and several more vehicle types. those items would be easier to find anyways in an apocalypse than super-high grade military hardware...

Is it possible for a server owner to reset the vehicles & tents on said server? I am considering purchasing a server and am considering doing this at certain points to ensure that new players on the server have the oppourtunity to aquire vehicles. Cheers

Vehicles are still in the world.. nothing is preventing a new player from going out and searching for them like everyone else. And since the devs have added the respawn timer if a vehicle goes unused it's even easier now (found a respawned ATV that way). You have to think of the lesser of two evils here.. make it more inconvient for new players or have a new topic being spammed on the forums of people saying admins are abusing by respawning vehicles whenever some player just found such and such vehicle. -
Looking for European Players for gaming

I was wondering if any european players here would like to team up and rock a server together. I do not mean slaying everyone we see but rather collecting supplies together, getting tents and building up a camp...collecting vehicles and weapons. Stuff like that. Would anyone want to team up with me to achieve all that? I'd appreaciate if someone would like to play RIGHT NOW, I am bored :P VoIP using Skype, or a TS/Vent server that YOU guys own, I do not own a server. Hope someone is interested. Game purchase only or Free ( see below ) Studio but with a big ear for the Community ;) Both, Dev. servers and Com. servers ( there you can make the "F2P" like concept a bit- make the game cheap or free, give ppl the servers to rent and let the Dev servers be limited in how many players, less spawns, less vehicles, etc..... i think that could be a good way if its done right) if Kickstar means that funding project site or something similar, dont forget its not that common to have a credit card in europe ;)

Vehicles should just be removed if saved/empty outside the game area. Then there would be more vehicles camps on map that people can find...even if you do have to search around the edge! Defo need to remove the heli radar too! That's stupid!! -
Attention: These suggestions are aimed towards what the game can be. The Arma engine is a completely different system compared to most of the DayZ community's idea of what the game can be. Rocket did mention a little clue about possibly making this a standalone game. Also, the development team could have thought of these already. Please post your opinions and modifications to this post and keep it on track. Environment: [The ideas and possibilities are endless and only limited to the imagination of fellow DayZ players. Perhaps a New York themed large scale map?] -Lights in the city some perhaps flickering due to damage. This is only depending on the time frame of how long it's been since initial infection but would add another "creepiness" factor to the game. -Wild animals including bears and wolves in the forest would take out the simplicity of traveling more treacherous. -Wandering Zombies should be able to roam the lands simulating their search for brainz. -Minor amounts of farming due to the theory of moving towards the survival aspect and learning to leave our "lives" behind. -Additional weather conditions and various tactics on how to outlast/survive them. Inventory: [The current inventory that we, as players deal with, was not made for an in-depth system that we are used to as DayZ players.] -Receive an error message when not enough spots are available Perhaps "Inventory is full" -Option to have the Backpack inventory open while looking at your main character menu is open. -A sound of "rustling" while someone goes in your backpack. -A trading system between two characters until a final solution to dropping items and not deleting them. Vehicles: [Once a better physics engine can be added/modified, the vehicles will become even more fun and worth it to complete. Although, many will request more vehicles to servers.] -Inside a vehicle, the option to roll down a window, shoot with a limited field of fire restricted to your seat/location in the vehicle. -Ability to look at the gear/inventory while in the vehicle. -Vehicle listing of the amount of spots in the inventory that are available in the vehicle. Items: [This is a very exciting section due to all the ideas we can come up with together.] -Matchboxes should come in quantanties of 32 matches and can run out. If the elements are harsh at the time of starting a fireplace, it will give a message saying "Match went out due to rain/wind/etc." -Magazines should have an additional feature due to the fact that ammunition is interchangeable now. Now, keep in mind, just because you have 50 rounds of 7.62 and two DMR magazines, you could only fill to only two of those magazines. Refilling a magazine could have it's animation and timed cooldown. (Fillling M16 magazines in real life is very time consuming. =P) -Campfires should have an inspect feature available with three tiers with a time window; Coals are hot (been put out in the last 5-10 minutes, Coals are smoldering (been put out 10-25 minutes), Coals are cold (25-a number left to the players' imagination.) -Option to utilize your sidearm alongside your flashlight at the same time. It takes a lot of training to become effective firing at targets this way and the suggestion would be increasing accuracy when your flashlight is not out. -Weapon attachments system similar to Resident Evil in game would add another dynamic to your personal loadout and have you pay attention to what you are equipped with. Nothing too detailed yet nothing too simple.(Will edit this later.) Character: -To groups and clans, a "leader" should be able to create a badge/patch of some sort and have the option of handing it out to their teammates for identifying purposes. This will alleviate the problem of spies and bandits that infiltrate a group but if that person is patient, it will make the betrayal even sweeter. =) -While spawning in game either a normal day or a malicious ghost tactic, the player(s) that are still in the same room should receive and "Player spawning in." notification and makes all affected players to become invulnerable for a time period. They can A. High tail it out of there without threat of attacks from zombie or player if they were clearing/searching a room or B. Stick it out and wait to shoot the new spawner. Now realize this is immediate area spawns like same room/building. You as a person and player should be able to hear it but it falls upon you if you do not pay attention to the slightest of noises. This will mitigate most spawn deaths but not all. -Spawning over and over to find a "faster" run back to their body so be discouraged. Set a respawn timer of 10 seconds or more to prevent the spam of deaths just to get a good location. Deal with you death and get over it. -!Ghosting! One of the hottest topics alongside DC'ers. Here is my solution; If you have fired your weapon or been fired at in the relative area, your character should be unable to leave the game for an extended amount of time. Your character will remain vulnerable and you will be susceptible to death and perhaps will receive a notification on how you have died while trying to log back on. Now onto Ghosting, a system should be thought out where if you haven't fired or been fired at and still trying "Ghost" towards an enemy position, should you spend a certain amount of time in a server, you should not be able to join into the same server, I.E; I am in a server for 2 hours with buddies and stumble upon figures in the distance and we pin down 2 survivors in a building but they are smart. I have not fired so I leave the server to get into a better position while my friends keep them pinned, I cannot re-enter that server for 15/30 or more minutes depending on how long I've spent in it and my friends cannot ghost since they have been firing at the survivors. There will be no "true" way around ghosting in my opinion. V1 Reminder! This will be a post that I will follow as best as I can and update with new ideas regularly. Thanks for reading! - Grimm

The server is currently down because it is moving to the seatle location. There should be less lag because it is close to the hive. So bear with us, and we will get you the info you need. Also vehicles and tents and shit will be preserved. -
Rocket, the script kiddie cheaters are at it again. Seen several servers getting nuked, as well as the cheaters spawning in vehicles and mass killing players. Is this issue being looked into? Thanks!

No, this would crowd the map with vehicles and if I were a Bandit I would camp far back enough once you got to the dealer I would blow your brains out. Because every noob is like (Im going to go get a car so I dont have to run everywere) and knowing new players dont start off with guns, its easier.

Too many vehicles would kill the game. The vehicles that are there now, are generally hoarded off map as storage and pick up mules, nothing more. I think instead of this, there should be mechanics to hide/cover vehicles more efficiently, and make the map area have boundaries. I believe there's a thread about this already though.

Thanks for reply. Cars in empty towns still could have been spawned by other players passing by since the server started. Seems strange that bicycles should be the only vehicle that has different spawn behavior. Anyone have any evidence one way or the other for vehicles other than bicycles? Or someone who has seen the server side code can confirm one way or the other?

Vehicles are placed at server start. There is one exception. New bicycles spawn as you get near them. Evidence: My friends and I have found multiple vehicles driving through empty towns in a vehicle.

you cannot fit primary guns into your starting backpack they just dissapear, thats the actual bug. me and my friends found heaps of bugs: items consumed in vehicles do not get used up properly combining ammunition re-sets its count so you can have infinite clips ect ect ect. tis alpha. this kind of thing goes in the bug report section anyhow. -
Possible admin abuse/cheating on Chicago 51?

SERVER: Chicago 51 TIME: Approximately 16:24 EST I was running through a field and a bus spawned directly on me and disappeared 2 seconds later. I thought it was a coincidental vehicle spawn, but 7-8 other players died (I had all my blood, so I survived) at the exact same moment, so it's definitely not a coincidence. A few minutes later two anti-air tanks spawned in a factory courtyard (I'm fairly certain it was in Kamorovo). I got in one of them (in restrospect this was probably a bad idea) and died almost immediately. I've never heard of cheating players having the ability to spawn vehicles on other players locations, this looked more like the sort of thing only a server administrator could do. I apologize for not having thought of taking screenshots, so there isn't enough evidence here (aside from logs) to take action, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this sort of stuff on Chicago 51? -

The heli radar explains why I saw a heli flying around the map at night time. Just to find vehicles and steal peoples shit. If one group of people owns all the 8 helis, no other players stand a chance. Radar needs to go, now. -
How can they still duplicate their inventory if the "standing clone" has been fixed AND they don't have vehicles ?

Admins can not drop bombs, spawn weapons/ vehicles, manipulate item spawns etc. Stop bellyaching and deal with the fact you got smoked by some players and go find them and kill them to get your shit back.
