[DayZMod] The Dayz Statistics thread!
herd replied to Ander (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Please show us where all the vehicles are stored. You will find out its OFF THE EFFING MAP. Noone cares to fix. -
You play the wrong game. You CANT outrun zombies, only in vehicles. Since the game SOOO realistic, how am I running empty with the same speed as a guy with fully loaded backpack and weapons ?
-
Alot of this may already be covered on here, but i'm not reading the whole damn forum, so here we go... Zombies. They need to move slower outdoors and faster indoors. I have no problem with fast zombies, but they're too fast and it looks silly imo. Have them run faster than the player, but not too much more. Also, the difference in zed movement speed indoor/outdoor is absurd. The worlds fastest zombies become the slowest upon entering a building. This gap needs narrowed a bit, but first you may have to fix the obvious clipping and pathing issues zeds currently face indoors. Broken legs. I'm all for it, but it currently happens too frequently and it's not very realistic the way it is implemented. Broken legs should be a rare occurrence. Maybe a small percentage if the player is being attacked whilst on stairs, vaulting a fence, falling etc. Add broken arm, it would make more sense with the zed attack animation. With broken arm, you can only use your sidearm until the break is dealt with. To fix your arm, you must set the bone(10sec vulnerability period), then inject morphine which should be changed to take instant effect when used. Bleeding. Also happens too frequently imo. Make it happen less, but increase the penalty. Perhaps the blood scent can have a chance to attract a horde or a stonger alpha type zed. New rare tool: Spike Strip. Can be thrown in front of oncoming vehicles to kill their wheels. Has a 30 minute cooldown that despawns the previous strip upon completion. Inventory system. It's pretty annoying sometimes, anyone agree? Let us use the stuff in our backpacks. Food/drink/meds/cook meat etc. Swapping items back and forth all the time just kills the fun. If I have any free space available, the item I am trying to pick up should go there automatically and there needs to be a quick loot option that allows you to pickup items by mouseover and key press. Also, guns/items shouldn't disappear if you don't have enough room in your backpack for them. Vehicle hoarding needs balanced. It sucks that 95% of the vehicles are tucked away in the furthest reaches of Chernarus never to be seen. Vehicles stored past a certain distance away from the nearest town should be despawned and respawned. This will increase the chance of players actually coming across vehicles. New rare military spawn: Ammo Crate. Contains a randomly generated amount (1-6) of mags/clips for every weapon type. Get rid of the hour glass. Nothing kills the immersion like a huge green/white hour glass blocking your screen. You can do better than that. Separate bandit/survivor traits. Bandits make less noise and can carry more ammunition but are more prone to injury. Survivors get back more blood from eating, can hydrate from rain water, and can fish water sources for food. Or something like that. Loving the mod so far, but you've definitely just scratched the surface, there is so much potential. Best of luck on the development, things can only get better from here imo. Keep up the good work. -Ned Here is another... Allow us to create 2 characters, no more, no less. I think it's only fair; people should be able to experience both bandit and survivor gameplay. A character for each. Also, it sucks when you play with a group. If they're not online, I don't even want to play because of how long it takes to get regrouped if anyone continues to play outside the group's hours of operation. Not to mention I want them by my side when shit goes down. I don't want to have to spend an hour a day getting everyone back together, by the time we actually get something going, people have to leave. Wish I could have a character for co-op play and a character for solo play.

This has to be the dumbest fucking thread in these forums lol. Tent and vehicle hoarding is amazing for players like me that doesn't pitch tents but spends time searching for yours!!! There is no better feeling than finding a camp and looting the shit out of it and stealing the vehicles. The shear heart pounding experience of knowing they could return to catch you....ive been caught in the act several times and killed but its worth it just for that wave of excitement and the massive grin it brings to the face. My team love these search and destroy camp attacks and has given us some major gunbattle gameplays and the best laugh ever on dayz. I do agree tho that anything placed off the map should be deleted!!! It makes it easier for us to find ;)

That was the loot from Manny's camp :( As to why the late night gang decided to take it to Cherno' date=' I can't say. I wouldn't rule out alcohol. So the question is, will the server run out of vehicles before they start respawning? :D

NEW PLAYER GUIDE v 1.0.2 Updated with Dethrone this video...Clan suggestions/classifications,clarification edits, community stories,... I. FAST AND EASY THE GENERAL SOLO GAMEPLAY PATH..... These first 6 steps are a Quick start guide for players who want to read quickly and get right into the game. I suggest reading sections 2 and 5 for clarity on what you need for survival....I go into detail on game mechanics in the sections that follow it, incuding offering links to loot maps and the references that inspired the presented theories..... 1. You spawn....run to a major coast city or an airport whichever is closer to you search any loot spawns you encounter on the way as residential spawns drop the rare matchbooks...Airports have rare spawn weapons and items in the hangers and the main tower...cities have match books, larger backpacks, maps, axes hunting knives, handguns rifles ect check all the lootable houses sheds and outhouses you find the fire station has rare loot the industrial areas have barbwire and toolkits and the houses with wells and pumps can refill canteens..... 2. Before you leave a major city you should have a bigger pack, an hatchet a handgun a rifle a hunting knife and a box of matches at the very least....avoid other players like the plague...low crawl or crouch walk past zombies never shoot them in a city and get the gear you need then run for your life..... make sure you search the major cities hospital for 5 morphine and 5 painkillers and some spare bandages ....the boxes of supplies drop them infinitely if they are near empty take the items out from them or around them they will repop more medical loot.... 3. If you don't have a canteen by now you can find them on the road in the smaller cities get multiple canteens not just one getting one is a mistake noobs make....if you have multiple canteens you can go longer without needing to risk your life finding water and refilling them and when you do see water you can refill them all to full and take a drink I usually roll with a minimum of 4 canteens thus allowing me to avoid needing to get water for entire play sessions.... 4. Know how to conseve supplies....YOU NEVER EAT OR DRINK WHEN THE COLOR CHANGES only noobs do that...you are a survivalist you need food when your food or water flashes a deep red color...this indicates that within 15 minutes or so you will begin to bleed out till you die if you don't eat or drink...once your an ultra pro you can time it down to the second and take a swig of water or eat some food right before the timer ends thus conseving any food you have and spending hours of game time without needing food.....scrubs complain about food predominantly because they do not know this now you do...use that advantage....also every time you find a can of beans or soda immediately consume it keeping you at max hunger or thirst you will never carry beans or soda on you you max out your pack with meat steaks (see section V.) and your canteens only leaving room for other loot and ammo... 5. Now go hunt kill an animal take it's raw meat and cook it for infinite food to go with your infinite water.... 6. Decide your playstyle ....go live in the woods or the debug forest only coming out to hunt meat and refill water ....or, go shoot people to steal their loot...or, go help others to survive and combat bandits....you are officially now not a noob and only your decisions, hackers, game bugs and bandits can kill you..... I do most of this in the first hour of any game I died on with a week of practice you will too....go read the Day Z wiki memorize what buildings spawn what loot in cities and rural towns...profit... http://dayzmap.info/...p.info/ http://dayzdb.com/ma...9.053 http://www.wasder.ne...zor-d515453.png http://picacid.com/arma2/loot_en.html II. ITEMIZATION THE D0'S AND DON'TS FOR SOLO PLAYERS... Here are the only things you will ever NEED to pick up as a solo player... 1. a larger backpack - I suggest the 16,20 or 24 sloters 2. box of matches 3. hatchet 4. hunting knife 5. handgun- any calibur is ok but 45 prefered as 45 rounds can be converted for revolver or cartriges from the menu 6. rifle- (starter lee enfield).....anything you get past that should hold the most rounds possible to limit the ammount of ammo clips you need to carry and be ranged....shotguns are useless never pick them up except untill you can get a rifle they have no range and in a sniper situation your a deadman.... http://dayzwiki.com/....php?title=Loot 7. canteen- for infinite water 4 prefered less ok... http://dayzwiki.com/...p?title=Canteen 8. cooked meat steaks- for infinite food as many as you can carry after 3-4 main weapon ammo clips, 8 bandages 5 morhine and 5 painkillers and your canteens are in your inventory .... 9. morphine- 5 http://dayzwiki.com/...e_Auto_Injector 10. painkillers- 5 http://dayzwiki.com/...tle=Painkillers 11. bandages- 8 fewer if your using your handgun alot which I don't suggest. http://dayzwiki.com/...p?title=Bandage As a solo player these 11 items and the appropriate ammo are the only things you will ever need to carry consistently.... This is the final count in your non weapon inventory slots ... 1 morphine in main menu 1 painkiller in main menu 3-4 main weapon mags in main menu 4 canteens the rest of the slots are meat steaks in main menu The handgun menu has 4 bandages and 4 handgun clips or more clips if you need them minimal 2 bandages.... There are many packs in the game. You start with the Coyote Patrol Pack 8 slots, and can find larger and even a smaller pack depending on what your trying to accomplish. If your a sniper and your gears in your tent doning a Czech vest Pouch would help alot to lower your profile....but for the purposes of this guide I will assume you are a lone survivor with the bare essentials and describe the amount of extra blood you can carry in the 3 largest packs in the form of meat steaks.... The czech backpack has 16 slots, the alice backpack 20, and the coyote backpack 24 ... http://dayzwiki.com/...?title=Backpack Your items in these packs are the same regardless with just more room for meat in the larger ones... 4morphine, 4painkillers, 4bandages, the rest is cooked meat steaks .... a czech backpack............6-7 800 blood cooked meat = 4800 - 5600 blood the alce pack.......10-11 800 blood cooked meat = 8000 - 8800 blood the coyote backpack....14-15 800 blood cooked meat = 11,200 - 12,000 blood all of said blood is gained instantly on consumption..... http://dayzwiki.com/...php?title=Blood You can technically carry less emergency supplies and have even more instant blood available but the current ratio of gear is perfectly balanced and better for overal survival situations..... http://dayzwiki.com/...=Status_Effects III. ITEMS A SOLO PLAYER WILL NEVER CARRY...... 1. roadflares....you are a single survivor calling attention to your location with a road flare is about the dumbest thing you could possibly do never pick these up... 2. chem lights...see number one.... 3. heatpacks...they are absolutely useless....the only way you could get cold is... a.) playing at night when it turns 32 instead of the common 42 degrees...that said you can at any time go into a forest drop 2 meat steaks, gather wood from a tree, light a fire pick up the meat steaks and sit and warm yourself... b.) it starts raining....you can enter a building and you will regain your warmth automatically.... if you run in the rain use trees to break the rain fall and you will not lose temp as rapidly...also if you do stay in rain to long collect wood and start a fire indoors again...you will gain heat no use for heatpack taking space.... c.) go swimming for a long time...which is currently bugged...in deep water you will likely lose your pack and everything in it and if you do this for some stupid reason you deserved it....go heat yourself at a fire....dum dum d.) wind... negligible loss http://dayzwiki.com/...tle=Temperature 4. vehicle parts...you as a solo player have zero use for any vehicle drawing attention to yourself is the last thing you ever want to do...stay off of all vehcles bikes included you are just a snipers wet dream in a vehcle stay far from them they are for teams not you lone survivor... 5. anything else....nothing is needed for a lone survivor other then medical supplies and the food and drink items...you will only need to occassionally get pistol ammo cause it should be the only thing you use to shoot zombies, you should perdominetly stealth every town you enter...and your rifle ammo is saved for any bandits or snipers that target you at range....EPIPENS AND BLOODBAGS ARE FOR TEAM USE ONLY AND NEED ANOTHER TEAMMATE TO ADMINISTER THEM TO YOU NEVER WASTE INVENTORY SLOTS FOR THEM.....if you follow the above guide you are 100% self sufficient only a bad zombie pull or a random sniper headshot or hacker has any chance of killing you outright..... IV. LUXURY ITEMS.... There are cosmetic items in the game such as the camo and ghillie suit that are super rare and offer a slight site advantage which is largely negated by your name popping up in your enemies crosshairs and also a recent patch 1.7.2 addition the bear trap, as well as a plethora of vehicles and parts to said vehicles that you can find on the wiki, but none of these is essential for survival although they may make life easier or more fun....... The first 5 listed here are nice past that it is only needed if you want to build defences around your tent if you have a toolbox available, or in the case of the watch if you want to know what time it is on the server.... 1.Tent http://dayzwiki.com/....php?title=Tent 2.Map http://dayzwiki.com/...x.php?title=Map 3.GPS http://dayzwiki.com/...x.php?title=GPS 4.Compass http://dayzwiki.com/...p?title=Compass 5.Toolbox http://dayzwiki.com/...p?title=Toolbox 6.Wire fencing kit http://dayzwiki.com/...ire_Fencing_Kit 7.Sandbags http://dayzwiki.com/...?title=Sandbags 8.Entrenching tool http://dayzwiki.com/...ntrenching_Tool 9.Watch http://dayzwiki.com/...php?title=Watch 10.Bear Trap http://dayzwiki.com/...title=Bear_Trap V. HUNTING HOW TO AND ALTERNATIVE FOOD SOURCES.... 1. Get the following 3 items from a multitude of spawns in the game.... hatchet http://dayzwiki.com/...p?title=Hatchet hunting knife http://dayzwiki.com/...e=Hunting_Knife box of matches http://dayzwiki.com/...=Box_of_Matches 2. Go to a cluster of trees in a forest open your menu and select harvest wood (wood takes 2 slots in your inventory) 3. Go find a wild animal cows are great when you kill them they drop 8 meat steaks raw.... http://dayzwiki.com/...tle=Cooked_Meat 4. After you kill the animal walk up and select gut animal....collect the raw meat... 5.Go to a safe area and select your matchbook in your inventory and select create fireplace.... then walk up to it and scroll mouse wheel select light fire ....then walk to it again and select cook meat... 6. All the raw meat in your main inventory will be cooked backpack meat will not be cooked you have to have it in your main inventory. Comparing beans to cooked meat steaks a can of beans gives 200 blood a cooked meat steak give 800 blood and you can eat them one after the other and hunt down as many animals as you want. In fact once you have the 3 tools needed you should never ever have beans pasta or sardines in your inventory they are officially a waste of space you should stock up on meat steaks by hunting in safe pastures or hunt pigs in woods if too many bandits are about.... For further tips on where to get a box of matches which are the rarest of the three items follow the link to the official day Z wiki.... If for some reason you cannot get a box of matches and need food be aware of these two things..... 1. Supermarkets in game have a high rate of food spawn look in major cities for them and gather the food.. 2. Zombies have a decent chance to drop beans and soda ....lure them out of the city so they cant spawn help then shoot them in the head out of sound aggro range and check their bodies for loot.... you can stay healthy like this too make sure first that you visit a hospital and grab morphine pain pills and bandages just in case you get swiped unluckily and break a leg...note that patch 1.7.2 decreased the leg break chance but it is still a danger... http://dayzwiki.com/...p?title=Zombies VI. SURVIVAL THEORY.... ......Risk/Reward....... This is the number one theory in the game it is the basis of every move you make in the game. Whatever move you decide upon should be based on this theory if your goal is to maximize your play time. How do you enact this? I will give you a practical example... You spawn....what is your first move? I offered a general guide with basic principals but that is for beginers to have a basic answer to the question I just asked. If your an advanced player you need to think on the fly. When you spawn you have the least to lose, you have nothing of value to anyone and if you die you lose nothing this is your best time in the game. Your most advantageous move is to gain the most deadly weapon available as fast as possible. If you spawn in the vacinity of the costal airstrip it should be your first stop... Weaponless? Yes weaponless, what do you have to lose? If you die you respawn on the coast again you lost nothing if you get to a rare weapon first you gained everything. A rare weapon would be nice but law of averages denotes you are more likely to get an ak or an assult rifle...if you are very lucky you can come upon dead players that just battled it out and end up collecting an almost complete kit ...that said you have zero to lose. Do not walk run full speed to the main weapon spawn in the controll tower.... search each hanger in the back left corners there will sometimes be unique pistol spawned....also check the hospital camp infront of the airstrip... Your next risk reward decision is the value of your new weapon vs the chance of losing it to the noobs in the coastal towns...observe chat ask where people are dying and avoid that city...you want the opportuity to farm the most loot unhindered....try to always farm in a circular pattern looting the outside of the city inwards only moving further in if there are no gunshots suggesting a sniper or open conflict or possible zombie aggro that could be dumped on you.... These are the basic principals you will use the entire game....is what I have worth risking for a can of soda...9 out of 10 times the answer is no....your main game lasts only the first 1-3 hours that is when you make your most risky decisions because you have little if anything to lose... After you aquire a box of matches, hatchet, and hunting knife I would reevaluate my risk....with those 3 items the matchbook being the rarest you can make food infinitely with the cooking mechanic....there is far more risk involved in staying in a major city at that point and losing that key trifecta of items then in going into the interior and finding your canteen but the need to carry a good quantity of medical supplies is also a factor.....is there a lot of gunfire? How many people are dying and where. Was it pistol or sniper fire? Scan the rooftops the treeline and stay in a safe position.... You can ask people who died where they think the shot came from pinpoint the danger and avoid it... If the risk is too high take 3 morphine and 3 painkillers in your small pack and head inland...a larger pack and a few scattered medical supplies can be found along the way in residential areas...you can also take 6 morphine alternatively as painkillers are a far more common spawn inland then morphine... These are the key decisions for hours 1-3 past that after you have a new pack and have balanced it according to the guide above you have very little chance of death through game mecanics...your risk is now shifted to personal error and pvp.... Since the risk is largely determined by your desired playstyle I will end the guide there and offer a few suggestions. VII. SUGGESTIONS BASED ON INDIVIDUAL PLAYSTYLE... It is very easy to be very successful in this game I find the most risky activity in this game ultimately is the players desire to have fun. Once you can create infinite food and water anyone could easily live like a hermit in the woods but do you want to simply log on day after day hunting and refilling a canteen to gain leaderboard fame?.... If so, avoid all towns and cities, stay in a wooded area near water rarely traveled by people and you have basically beaten the game. Your only enemy are deadly terrain bugs, server glitches and server wide bombs from hackers so avoid any server plagued by hackers before attempting a leaderboard run and if you see many people dying in rapid succession for no apparent reason alt F 4 it is likely a server bomb also log out of severs before the day night cycle changes I have been killed several times by this change I believe it to be an unknown bug. If you desire action that is when I would highly recommend considering joining a clan or a trustworthy group if your going to play as a bandit increasing your odds of success and joining a clan is the least risky proposition. Alternatively you could decide you will be a solo bandit which is probably the most dangerous thing you can do in game.....currently each kill will cause people that slide their cross hairs on you to have an increased heart rate you are basically telling anyone that gets a bead on you that you can't see to shoot you on sight because you will kill them if you get the chance....the further you go into the interior the better loot but the more organized groups you find so farming the starter cities (or griefing depending on what camp your in) is probably the safest bet for a bandit, camping the coastal airport is also a good alternative. The last option is being a helpful player or a medic....I heard Rocket discuss a player in an interview that has 2 body guards that travels from server to server offering medical aid....obviously playing nice... is about as risky in this game as being a solo bandit....if you don't care about your safety you can trust people...alternatively you would be much safer joining a clan and healing your trusted friends..... The most important thing to remember when playing this game is you will die.....the best weapon you have will run dry....the ghillie suit will be lost....but your gonna have the time of your life getting it all back and learning from each and every mistake along the way.....good luck VIII. CLAN SUGGESTIONS.... Many players new and old are eager to join others in an attempt to survive the horrors of the zed apocalypse... In order to have a more centeralized location for that to happen I want to add a section in this guide where clans can be evaluated by the community and posted here for player convenience and listed based on their specific merrits/playstye. If you are in a clan of 20 or more active players please post a note in the reply section that details what your clan is interested in finding in prospective recruits and links to your webpage or play sessions on youtube or twitch.tv. I will classify add or remove clans from the main post based on community feedback. However I do not want this to degenerate into a flame war so keep any negative commentary brief and to the point or your post will be refered to a moderator for deletion or action... In the Clan section are a few Clans I found online browsing, I will add to the list as more are submited, I will rank them on the following values ... High Production Values (HPV ) = a website or forums availabe to the public or they produce entertaining webisodes on youtube or twitch.tv Legion (L) = 100 or more members Youtube (Y) = a presence on youtube Twitch.TV (TTV) = they stream gameplay on Twitch.TV Server (S) = they run their own Day Z server Professional (P) = they are sponsored or partake in national or international tounament scene, obviously this will be for other games atm but who knows what the future holds once Day Z launches in stand alone form note the clans are listed in no particular order also if any of the previous qualifiers are unknown to me I will not include them next to the clan links, if they become available in the future, or if I left an appropriate tag off, notify me for edit... (without quoting the entire initial post please) CLANS 1. {SAS} Clan HPV,L,S http://www.thesasclan.co.uk/ 2. New World Order / Synthetic Gaming HPV,Y,T nwogaming.com (note their site was down for maintenance when I attempted to view it but their youtube states they are recruiting) Feel free to evaluate them and their recruitment process and offer feedback as well as promote your own clan in the comment section....be aware only actively recruiting clans will be posted in the main section as this is ment as a resource for players looking for others to enjoy the game with...( I might add a video of the week section after the next update for funny vids and machinima let me know what you think...) IX. Dethrone this Video... 2 Videos enter one video leaves.....vote for the funniest in the poll and post your challenger for the funniest fan video in the comment section.... http://youtu.be/s8i-EG1P_fA Continue to post your stories of survival and give me your beans ....lol...... I will edit this post continualy for clarity and as changes are made in the game in future patches.....

This is exactly why the devs should have never put such harsh restrictions on server admins. They can't build our little corner of the game. ive never had any probs like this in my BF3 servers or my TF2 servers. They are ran well and if someone gets banned, they can appeal on the forums which are reviewed by a 5 strong admin squad. You can ask any of my regulars (The Lizard Lounge on Steam or Battlelog) what they think of the server or it's admins. And I didnt need Dice or anyone else to tell me how to run them. The crappy servers with bad admins? They do exist, not saying they don't, but generate a bad rep and sit empty too. Can ensure we dont get bombarded with hackers, tweeny ragers, racists, exploiters and those who thing the freedom of the internet means you can publicly berate people. My servers are full all day and most the night because of the atmosphere and sense of community they have. What the devs here want is an MMO where the server admins are basically in GM's, and thats fine, if they didnt foot the bill. You can't have a paid MMO where the front line workers not only dont get paid, they actually have to pay. Ever heard of a GM for an MMO being required to pay to be a GM? No. They dont exist. But that is how DayZ is right now. If you want an MMO devs, charge the players and host your own server clusters. Cant do that though eh. Mod would get nowhere fast, so obviously that is far from an option, but it is an MMO I would be interested in that's for sure, as long as their was something done about cheating. These guys are fair ppl, and they are catching alot of flak over 3 guys who come on the forums and lied about what really happened. They disco'd during a firefight. Their were multiple witnesses, one has actually replied here about it. So all that anyone has on the admins is a mistake, which is human and anyone can make, from a butthurt player who wont let it go. (btw Dark, there were actually hackers on the server when you guys raided the tents and vehicles, but even knowing that there was, and it was suspected it was you guys, they still didnt stop you guys from raiding til they were sure some hacking was happening, so you were still able to fully raid 2 of their camps, with no bans, no server restarts til AFTER. That sound like an admin that is shady to you? or was it more simpy just a mistake and they banned the wrong guys. let it go. they owned up, unbanned, caught the right ppl, and moved on. they are dong their best to help make sure players have a fair place to play, and right now, DayZ is making APB look like a church when it comes to hacking. it soooo bad in there ive stopped playing) Yup. 4 pages long, over players falsely accusing. Normal day on the server forums, but the admins are the bad guys.

Abandoned trucks, ambulances and military supply vehicles.
Siri302 replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Awesome idea! :) Would really like to see a few more abandoned (not necessarily repairable) vehicles on the roads which spawned loot such as this, travelling inland the roads all seem pretty deserted and too clear .. Maybe you should also be able to pry open the boots of abandoned vehicles with crowbars to find more loot, perhaps with a chance of the car alarm going off, for added horde-attracting fun ^^ -
@icomrade Will have a look into it I guess, might need to hop back on IRC for help regarding it, because I'm using R4Z0R's scripts and BEC with auto shutdown in order to do my auto reboot, and the profanity filter doesn't seem to get loaded in either, must just be a config error I've made I guess :/ @Irokez The only person who was banned was you for spamming chat with profanity/capslock none-sense, you were warned repeatedly and just kept going. Oh and in regards to the video, yes you spammed that in chat too and yes I saw it, but what you don't realize is that I have barely played on the server and what you stole were the vehicles from my friend's camp, you seem to think I personally care more by spamming the same link. The vehicles are out there somewhere and they will find them again, it's all part of the game. @Asus You are free to play as you were asked to stop speaking russian and you did, but Irokez refused to listen to admins and his ban will not be removed, he can wait it out until the temp ban has expired naturally.
-
Agreed, this is the major issue with vehicles atm. They are all parked ages ago outside map in some location noone without vehicles would ever wander to. Currently vehicles are used less than 95% of Day Z population for that reason. There needs to be change.
-
Why do you oppose clans having a stock pile of gear? Building a new world from the ashes and defending it is a part of the metagame. Don't like a clan or group owning the vehicles? Get some friends together and siege their camp. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=25451

US40 and =7Cav= Server Offline after Admin + Clan Member Killed
dlp12 replied to terex's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
That's cute. You banned us. We spent hours fixing vehicles on your server. We found the Scars on a hacker's corpse on a different server. We are bandits, so we took you guys out. How did you get that bicycle so fast? There is no way you didn't spawn it. You shouldn't rent servers just to treat yourself and treat others like shit. Pretty sad dude. At least we work for our gear and vehicles. Peace. Have fun accusing people of using hacks and bypassers, douche. :/ -
I never need to eat after a 10 minute drive. But it shouldn't be full either. Heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, and much much more are still working, burning energy. Plus, these busted up vehicles probably lack power steering. Have you ever driven without power steering?
-
I'm tired of every server having one clan/group of guys that control all of the cars, some have up to 8 or 9 vehicles in their possession and it's ridiculous. They don't even need that many cars to use as transportation for their entire group, a UAZ seats 7 and Sedan seats 4(5 maybe?) and Vans have to seat around 5 or 6.. It's just obnoxious. I've been alive for 15 days searching for a car, and they're ALL GONE. At least cut off the map so they can't stash it out of the map, maybe create a hill that they can't get up to conceal them in the map so they can't be outside and are actually AT RISK of losing their shit rather than being safe and happy as can be 4 miles out of the map..

Base Defenses ( Document included )
ZombieGrin replied to ZombieGrin's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It still doesn't help defend your stuff while you are offline. That is a simple fix for spawning but does not stop people from stealing your vehicles and loot while you are away. Automated turrets would help prevent this -
Hackers RUINING This Game Completely
WalkerDown (DayZ) replied to imDudekid's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The cheater affair now have reached some annoying proportions... initially you has few cheaters here and there, sometime nuking that server. Now you have cheaters on many server and you're likely to survive only if they ignores you, eventually because they are concentrate to spawn vehicles around the map and troll. Honestly i don't think this will be ever handled (Arma2 is completely fucked up, because it's so open...).. but if having cheaters in a traditional FPS is a pain, in a game where there's a sort of persistence, a cheater/hacker can "ruin" a week of gameplay or more. Atm you can only troll around, since you know that it doesn't matter how good you play, you'll die because of a cheater, so it's not convenient to build a "serious" gameplay. -
Please note: This guide only covers official servers. Many of the things listed below are possible on private servers, but this forum is not here for issues on private servers. If you have concerns regarding admin abuse on private servers, please take it to the private server sub-forum. First things first, understand what admins are capable of doing; - Lock the server - Restart the server - Password the server - Restart the mission in-game - Kick or ban players These are the things admins are able to do. They're not necessarily allowed to do them. To see the server hosting rules set out for admins, please refer to the following DayZ Server Hosting rules thread that can be found at the following address; http://dayzmod.com/f...-hosting-rules/. Admins do not have the tools to; - Spawn in weapons and vehicles - Remotely kill players - Crash your game - Roll back the servers to previous 'saves' - Spawn nukes on top of players - Teleport If anything in this list happens to you while playing on a server, it is likely hackers. Admins can still hack, but then it is not a case of admin abuse, but rather hacking, and BattlEye will likely catch them the next time they roll out a wave of bans. While admins do not have the tools to roll back a server to a previous 'save', the nature of the Hive is such that sometimes a vehicle/tent does not save its state on the server for prolonged periods of time. If a server is restarted, sometimes the vehicle/tent will return to the state in which it was last saved on the server. Some admins attempt to abuse this in order to get back equipment stolen from tents or get their vehicles back. This is against the rules and is considered admin abuse. Just remember, though. Every time a server is restarted, there is a fairly big chance that someone would have been busy shooting another player/stealing a vehicle/stealing equipment from tents. Having a server restart when you're doing something like this is highly suspicious, but is not always indicative of admin abuse. It could possibly just have been a coincidence. Keep an eye out for whether the server is locked or password after it was restarted. If you suspect an admin is abusing his admin privileges on a server, try and get proof of it either in the form of pictures or video. Unless an admin has a track record of being an abusive admin, unsubstantiated claims of admin abuse is not going to do much good in taking action against abusive admins. The DayZ team cannot use a player's word alone as evidence of admin abuse. Before you make a thread, though, first do a search on the forums to see if there aren't any other threads about the server. It's much better consolidating all the evidence of admin abuse in one thread. It also makes the DayZ team's job a little bit easier. That said, if you do not have proof and there is not a thread for the server already, make a thread anyway. There is a fairly good chance other players might have encountered the same treatment from the admin, and they might have proof of the incident. The more people chiming in on a report of admin abuse, the better the chance of the abusive admin being stopped. It's also a good way of helping players avoid bad servers.

Server NZ7 - Hacker spawned vehicles with our resulted death of legit players.
InterKnight posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hi, My friends and I were on the 'NZ7 hosted by ON3 Network' server at 6pm driving our car to find some medical supplies when we heard a chopper above. We had never seen one before and therefore were excited, the chopper pursued us. We drove as fast as we could before ditching the vehicle when the chopper got close. We drew our guns and proceeded down the hill on foot. Then a Police Car drove past us, instantly killing our legit vehicle. We shot the car, and the player who did not die. The Police Car repeatedly blew up as we approached but we were not harmed. I warned my friends that I had heard it might be a hacked vehicle - we did not enter it. However, when the same player instantly spawned a car with a mounted explosive launcher we knew things were bad. We were repeatedly rammed and chased. We had broken bones and have played with our characters for a while - we made the decision to jump into the vehicle with the explosive launcher and drove to Berinzino for medical supplies where we agreed to ditch the vehicle. By this time one of my friends had logged out to go somewhere, not thinking much of it. Down at Berizino the same player spawned a tank and came after us. We drove as fast as we could towards the Lumber Mill on the map where we saw two players in a white jeep. We pursued and however realised they were not the hacker we had just encountered. They stopped their car, and shot us all down. I have many screenshots of the hacked in vehicles. My name in game is InterKnight, my other friends are called Ventura and legendarylinc. Our characters were fully geared and we fear that our tents are going to be lost by the time we get there. I would ask kindly that you can ask the server admin to spawn us back in the game with our tents still alive. I have numerous screenshots - I have supplied a few in this appeal. If any further assistance is required please contact me. I have lost gear unfairly to the game before but I believe it is in everyones best interest if my friends and I are spawned back with our tent camp. I've never had that much gear before. Thank-you for your time. Edit: the uploaded pictures did not go in this message for some reason. I'm signing up to ImageShack and will post the links here shortly. -
We've had a small increase of hacker activity in the past few days, one nuke and several vehicles (including a battle ship) spawned in on fire. Rest assured we are working hard on detecting and banning those responsible. Thank you all for you patience.

US40 and =7Cav= Server Offline after Admin + Clan Member Killed
terex replied to terex's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Mine and a friends net was crapping out at the time and we didn't want to leave our ATV out in the open. So on the way to tree hiding town this happened. We also have 2 other vehicles, not just the ATV. We don't want to leave those :) -
It took us about 1 week to recover all the vehicles that we have stolen from us west of kamenka in debug forest only to bring it to the northeast of the map not even park the car and have enemies kill 2 of our members and steal it right back. Not only that but we moved our camp to every single wooded area on the map only to have it found instantly by these very same people. Atleast 2 dozen locations across the entire map spaced out and it gets found instantly? This is no coincidence neither was how fast they found us. They also shot members in the group at impossible angles moving in the head through objects.

The only way to add "value to life" is to add some type of (for lack of a better word) Leveling system. There I said it, lets World of Warcraft it up! But no really. There should be drops like books, newspapers, diaries, blueprints, magazines. That the play can find, and read to become a better suited character. Leveling is a shotty word for this but that's basically what it boils down too. Your character would slowly level up after repeating the same action ex: Bandaging, Shooting a specific type of gun, and be more proficient every time he does it after. Making people that manage to survive for extended amounts of time while still being active and not just afking in the forest for free increases to their character. You would actually need to find the stuff yourself to learn it. NO PICKING IT UP AND STASHING IT FOR LATER- Although In real life you would be able too, That would just promote more item whoring in the magical tent cities outside the map. As of right now everyone is a badass Medic with flawless bandaging skill and can do blood transfusions with a flick of the wrist. All while repairing several types of vehicles and throwing grenades and sniping assholes 800 meters away. It's bland and makes characters that have been alive for extended amounts of time basically even with everyone. I don't think a someone that has went to college for several years and practiced medicine and the medical field should be in the same skill bracket as someone that just started. Once your character being alive is more valuable than gear, will you cut down on death matches and hording of gear I think. No brand new player wants to go into a gunfight agaisnt a veteran that has mastered the gun he's using and has learned the proffession of death dealing. TL;DR: Read Books, Repeated Actions, Character Developes, Spawn With Mediocre Knowledge Instead Of Green Berets.

Final Solution for the Sniper Bandits
[email protected] replied to DevilDog (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The biggest thing you don't realize is the people that are near those towns. You say the people that are armed could kill them. Yes they could. My current char can probably make easy work out of many/most of the bandits in Cherno/Eleektro. One major problem. My char since been that well armed has not been in the southern 25% of the map. Why would it? Fact is people in those areas normally fall into 3 categories. 1. The bandits who are obviously doing the killing. 2. New spawns who are usually only taking chances in the big cities because they do not have much gear so it's worth the risk 3. Newer players still learning allot of the basics which fact is this is a fine (although rutheless) place for them to learn the basics of looting, avoiding z's, some basic aiming and identifying which buildings to go in. Fact is majority of the people that are playing this game for what it is have no reason to go to that part of the map once they have anything. The good spawns, vehicles, most of the stuff that matters is in the north. The better well fought battles are in the north where you don't have tons of groups fighting on all sides. Fact is if your in a group of 3-4 and you run into another group and decide to fight it somewhere in north more than likely that fight will stay 3-4 vs 3-4 or whatever it is to start. It is rare that 3 groups are that close to get involved (although does happen). If you were with 3 people in Cherno fighting 3 people you'd also fight the 2 guys over there and the 1 here and the 1 behind you etc. Fact you are writing this tells me one of two things. You Either need to stay out of the south and go see the other things this mod has to offer. Or if you can not deal with the slower paced north this may not be the game for you and you may want to go to a more faster paced game. I have had 3 lives in past 9-10 days. I have been in south at most 3-4 game hours out of 30+ hours played. -
Well im pretty sure soon in an update that they will make it so vehicles and tents despawn if you put them outside the map.

Tents and vehicles should de-spawn if placed past 000 on either axis of the map, the idea people can hoard fleets of vehicles in places impossible to come across (unless you have a chopper) completley insane!
