  1. LOL ORCON IS A JOKE. Get on the ON3 Network servers and stop playing on those stupid regular servers. FYI Most of the vehicles have survived the boundary clear soo.. Enjoy scouring the lands of the north to find them.
  2. I cant play on any other servers because my HQ and vehicles are on this one particular server
  3. How do I do it? What am I looking for? I kinda looked through earlier and found a guy in the script log who wasn't in the rpt. What does this mean if I find it in the scripts log next to a players name "#49 private ["_dummy"]; _dummy = [_this,"onload"] execVM "\Scripts\ammo.sqf";" Also, is it okay to instaban for finding people in the rpt who log in with weapons which aren't in the mod? I found two guys. One had an M4A1_HWS_GL_SD_Camo which isn't in the mod, and another guy with a MakarovSD which also isn't in the mod. Also, I know it's bad, but when I see people who have a pretty much full kit, you know, the works: Nvgs, the as50, SD weapons and ammo, lots of it, and then the rangefinders with every utility item, I immediately suspect hacker. But is it okay to ban for out-of-mod weapons? And what's the rule on if you notice people login/logout repeatedly in a short time? Is it okay to ban for that? I'm really just curious as to what I should be looking for in the logs to see if anyone is hacking in their player positions, weapons, ammo, vehicles... you know, whatever.

Need Medical Assistance? We can help.

Not a problem. Was a fun case, hearing vehicles drive by and gun shots always make life a little more interesting XD Ill be taking patients tonight, Please post on this thread AND add me on steam if you need assistance
  5. Usually some mofo group has hoarded most of the vehicles either because their are greedy douchebags or to deny you easy exploration so you gonna have hard time finding their pixel loot.
  6. I'll start with this: my squad had a small, remote camp with about six tents and four vehicles; the tents had nearly everything you could think of inside of them that we couldn't hold ourselves. Right, so this is how it went down... Our squad consists of 6 people in total. At this time, only 2 people from our squad (including myself) were on because the others live on the other side of the Earth and were currently sleeping. I decided to go on a vehicle hunt and asked the other squad member to join. He said he didn't want to go right now and so I went anyway. On the east coast I noticed a boat through my binoculars and went over to it. Since it was stuck, I thought it would be a good idea if I went to Steam chat the other squad member to push the boat with one of our tractors into the water. He said he didn't feel like it. I kept trying to convince him to come help me. Little did I know what was about to happen next... I re-open the game to find an armed man crouch-running towards the boat. I froze for a moment as I knew the animation for exiting the boat was lengthy and that I would be shot and killed, so I decided to wait in the boat to see what happens. He shoots me with his pistol. At this point, I exit the boat and I am killed. I tell my buddy what happened and that he should go kill the guy and rescue the boat and my supplies. Again, he refused but this time he left the game. "Don't feel like it." I respawn in a nearby city. I spend about half an hour regathering some supplies to go back and kill the man there myself. When I finally make it there, he is gone and the boat is still stranded in the same area. I realize that our camp is now left unprotected and start heading there. When I finally make it there, I see a group of 3 bandits raiding our little camp. I try to be stealthy but one notices me and I start backing up to find cover and make a shot at them without being out in the open, as they were much more heavily armed (from our tents) than I who had just respawned not even an hour ago. Obviously, they kill me again. I give my buddy an update and, you guessed it, he still refused to help out. I can get over the fact that I've been killed and have lost my things; it's fun enough rolling with my buddies of my squad. However, I am not exactly happy about my partner's decision not to protect anything for our squad and I do not know how many things the bandits decided to leave at our camp which now needs moving; the rest of the squad would be very disappointed if our vehicles were taken and our camp demolished; especially when it could've been prevented... We used to roll like total bosses in one of our four-seaters playing the ice cream truck song in the Direct channel... I question whether this particular squad member is an asset to our squad or not... I haven't seen him shoot a single bullet at a person and he always chickens out during combat that isn't with zombies... All I can say is "oh well." If our camp isn't in a suitable condition tomorrow, we'll have to find a different server and make a new camp with all new things and find new vehicles... When I think about it at the end of writing this, it doesn't seem all that hard; we accomplished all of this in a matter of a few days... The only thing I'm worried about is my squad's reaction to our vehicles being stolen... We were so attached to them that we even gave them names. Here's the list: Adam (Old Hatchback; named after someone we've killed on several different occasions) Chrik (GAZ; named after an acquaintance) Chair (tractor; named after someone we've killed before) Terry the Tractor (tractor; named spontaneously/origin unknown) The boat was not yet named... I just hope my buddies are up to starting from square one... :P
  7. it seems to me that there is more 'nerfing ___ this patch to compensate for problem A..... only to Fix/buff Problem A without going back and buffing _____' prior to this patch, crouch running had been nerfed Sight wise in order to compensate for zombies being half blind.... which was 'ok' NOW... you buff zombie sight range to... almost scoped at times it seems (lol) without RE-buffing Crouch running. so now you have crouch running which is only slightly more 'sneaky' then simply running/sprinting... and even crouched walking is only slightly more stealthy then crouch Running............ so in the end you have prone for less then 20 visibility(or so...) or crouch walking for 50, C-R for 60-80, running for 90-120 and.. sprinting for 80-120-190+ and zombies able to see you when you are not moving, and even when your crouched(so walk/run does not matter) Re-buff crouch running and crouch walk... and would be better I think. IN REGARDS TO THE ZOMBIES: I kinda.. almost... sorta... like the new 'oh god i gotta be stealthy or i am swarmed' approach... BUT...currently the only way to be stealthy is to be prone.... which takes ages... (or to all out sprint through towns hoping to find a door that leads to a building with a rear exit... or... logging out every couple blocks and relogging in) /shrug and ... x-x standing 100% still should REDUCE YOUR VISIBILITY by a ton compared to moving...lol, but oh well. EDIT: yeah... you can be on the roof of a building do a 360 degree look around, see absolutely no zombies in sight from the roof/tower (for blocks...)... and decide to climb back down the ladder.... and you more then likely will be swarmed at the bottom a moment or two after touching down due to zombies being able to see through walls/blocks/cities which... is not cool! xD i doubt a zombie virus would provide Superman-like X-ray eyes and the ability to run through walls unhurt (and yeah I know thats a bug in the Arma 2 system...) ALSO CONGRATZ ROCKET!!! YOU BROKE YOUR HOST GAME WITH YOUR PATCHES! lolololololololol..... try loading up the editor with the current patches applied... almost all vehicles/buildings/guns/etc have been removed... and some missions no longer work because of it xD /highfive) oh... and a bug that is actually COOL ... if you are trying to outrun zombies and happen to find a downhill slope... they might actually run fast enough to leave the ground.... and fall to their deaths xD (they are no longer slowed while running up or down slopes so they move TOO fast XD... totally worth risking a respawn if you just lost your gear to the update, to see a zombie fly... and die) Edit 2: .... PLEASE I BEG YOU TO REMOVE THE 'system loaded, please wait' menu that pops up just before you spawn in.... it has killed me at least twice now...(you spawn in unable to move or do anything till it disappears and actually allows you in) --------------------------------------------------------------- God have mercy on the new people lol....... Cause I sure wont
  8. Corvax (DayZ)

So most of our loot is gone.

Dont get attached to any gear.. if you cant handle losing your camp stuff to players or more likely bugs then stop that playstyle and go kill people in cherno.. nobody said "YOU MUST STOCKPILE WEAPONS" or you will lose the game. Plz piss off the forums if you complain about 2 tents xD .. lose your first 10+ vehicles and 50 full tents and then I might commend your post with a "oh that sucks"

    Servers not updating

Yeah just find it a coincidence that after every update I loose all my vehicles and stuff stored in tents. And then have to go round looking for them.

    Build 1.7.2 Rolling Update

Just some experience with the new patch. First, had the problem with camo, but who didn't? :D Server lag - servers have huge lag and desinc, also vehicles and tents often don't appear after server restart. FPS - didn't see any real change here. Loot - loot seems to spawn differently, mostly less then before the update. Ammo - melee weapons still need reloading and almost depleted ammo clips still get restored on reload. Zeds - spawn like crazy, detect and lose almost randomly (or it just looks that way, hard to say yet). I think there were other things, but I forgot :)
  11. There has been a huge increase of hackers in every server and even youtube clips of people trying these hacks. This includes Godmode, infinite ammo, teleportation, vehice/item spawn and ESP hacks. This literally makes the game unplayable on most servers now as there is no point in getting gear/vehicles/tents up as they will most likely be gone no matter where you hide them in a matter of minutes. I see no way how they could prevent this anymore as most of these hacks have been in Arma 2 for sometime and unless they find a method to instantly ban a character the second their database receives corrupted/imported/sudden change in data such as teleporation then this problem will only get worse.
  12. Hi there. I'm the owner... well, renter of this server and the admin. What my friend says is the reason for the downtime. Since Multiplay have their own server specifications they somewhat clash with the DayZ requirements. So this could also be another reason. I know it is why I cannot fully customise the server (take out 3DP, turn off CH, choose vehicles to spawn etc.). Most servers are ran on machines owned by somebody who has proper access to them I believe (in most cases) so things can get fixed quicker. We have all experienced de-syncs on the server. As Delta said, we have lost things too. Our tent ate half our gear, the Military off roader despawned from our basecamp (after 4 hours of searching for parts!). Overall I am not sure what direction MP will take with DayZ servers but lets cut them some slack, theyre new to them. DayZ servers have a huge long list of requirements and it seems MP are doing their best to comply whilst not breaking their own regulations. Also thanks for the donation, it helps a lot since you can see how expensive these servers are to rent. Although I dont see anything in my paypal at the moment. Maybe it will go through, maybe it wont. I just dont want your money to go to waste if I dont receive it. If you'd like to talk more then the TS is always open. I usually go on at night due to my job, but Delta is on whenever he wakes up from hibernation. We are a friendly bunch so feel free to speak your mind :) I hope the crashes havent put you off the server and we hope you'll continue playing, maybe we can team up one day, or you can shoot us. Your choice :P Take care, iAcorn (also known as James)
  13. I was the one who killed the FoE member. I had logged in on the South side of the cement wall, near the Southern Barracks. I saw him putting a lot of loot into a pile, and then proceeding towards the barracks. When I shot him in the head, he fell over, unconscious I think. I ran off, thinking he may have help, and hid around the wall near a few trees. When I returned to confirm the kill, as I did not get a Murder or Bandit Kill, yet a FoE member had died, I was kicked, as were my friends. It's not the first time we have had an issue either. We stole many vehicles in our time on FoE, yet most of the time a restart took place, and even though we saved our newly acquired merchandise they never stayed for long. But I digress. The screenshots Weld posted are accurate. There were four members as well as Elderr(sp?) who was the admin in their locked server, and another FoE member Ander in US 377, also locked. As pertaining to us 'hopping', FoE had been our regular server to play on for some weeks now. We all logged out in the Airfield last evening.

    I found a camp at UK41

Hehe, nice one House. Yeah we raided that place pretty hard - House was in our group when they had a shit ton of vehicles. We left 3 normal FALs, 1 NV FAL and some other crap behind. Watch out those, those fuckers had a couple of camps, each with like 5+ duped tents and some of them empty. Also, the vehicles that were left behind are: yellow car, motorbike, bicycle, tractor
  15. esuoh

    I found a camp at UK41

They already moved the rest of the vehicles and moved alot of what they had in the tents to another place. It's not like they're going back to that camp. I'm giving a chance for people who haven't been able to get high-end gear (because guys like the ones who made this camp are literally FARMING every good loot on the servers) to test those guns.

    Will it last?

Arma mod die fast LOL, you dont know anything about arma at all them O_o. To start with 99% of arma2 mods doesnt have anything to do with dayz, and are meant to be played as a military simulator that arma2 is, adding weapons, islands, vehicles, more realistic features,... Dayz changes it completely into a survival simulator, where public games with people you dont know its possible, but thats not the case of all the other modifications. For example ACE2 was popular even like 5 moths after the release, and its still the most played arma2 mod after 3 years( obviously now its second after dayz boom). Its just that except from dayz, and PR all the other mods are played by private clans/communities mostly, just because most of the arma2 players like too play seriously and you cant do that in public gaming just because sooner or later a troll/10 year old/hacker would join and fuck everything up. Also most of arma2 playing its planned before play and then executed, just as any military operation( this is a simulator you know?) , and thats also imposible on a public game where everyone does what he wants. So fast answers, would dayz die fast? doubt it, you know anything about arma2 mods? doubt it too ;)

    New Gameplay Concepts

New Items: -Walkie Talkies/Radio- A player could get a pair of walkies to share with a friend. They could be tuned to a custom channel, much like real talkies so that players could split up and be able to communicate without the immersion breaking use of Skype. Once two talkies are in synch, a player could drop one in a room and go hide on a hill with a sniper, calling for help through the talkie. The game would make the sound source at the dropped talkie so the player could set up an ambush. Players would have to turn the talkie off when in zombie infested territory to avoid the extra noise, but would also be deprived of communication. This could set up the beautiful scenario in which two players split up and they suddenly lose contact. One of them would be horrified at what could have happened. Did his partner die, and can no longer communicate, or did he just turn it off? Then a new voice comes over the talkie: "We got that noob." Bandits killed his friend then taunted him through the radio. Even better, the bandits could take the other player hostage, only turning him lose if they come in for negotiation. Radios would work in the same way, only that they would be much longer distance and stationary. Imagine, a few players riding in a vehicle when the radio picks up a signal from a radio station. Some others are trapped in the station with dwindling supplies and a horde of zombies outside. Or maybe a couple of players could play music files over the radio until someone gets tired of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" and shoots up the station. -Blankets/Sheets- Comes in different colors. When in use, the player is slowed. It can be used as a makeshift camouflage and will slowly increase the player's body temperature. Can be used to avoid infection and to stave off cold. Using during the day time could cause heatstroke. *see heatstroke entry* Using the blanket on a doorway or window will block it. It would not stop bullets or anyone from entering but would effectively block the sight of passing zombies and bandits. Sheets do the same except warm less efficiently and weigh less. -Siphon Pump- Allows players to siphon fuel from vehicles. A viable alternative to approaching a gas station. Also allows for exciting moments when a friend is distracting an enemy group while you drain their tanks so you both can get away safely. -Climbing Gear- *SEE TREE CLIMBING ENTRY* Allows players to climb trees much faster than normal -Plants- *SEE HERBAL THERAPY ENTRY* Traps: -Tripwire- Each unit is 4m long. Players that run through it will fall and take a small amount of damage. Walking will allow one to bypass the tripwire. Zombies will always trip. Can be set up across doorways or on open ground. Anyone who looks directly at it will be given a prompt to disarm. Excellent for defending buildings. Can combine with grenades for a Grenade Trap. -Beartrap- Heavy, will break the bones of anyone unfortunate enough to step on it. East to spot, although hard to see in tall grass. Caught players can free themselves by pulling the release latch and crawling away. Will pop the tire of any vehicle that runs it over. -Mines- Anti-vehicle and anti-personal, incredibly rare and deadly. If something steps or drives over it, it will explode, doing massive damage. Disarm-able, but risky to do so, I recommend having a realistic little disarmament mini-game. Nothing too hard, just so that people will panic if they are disarming during a firefight or zombie horde. If they fail, then BOOM! -Grenade Trap- If a player looks at a tripwire with a grenade in their inventory, they will be given the option to set up a grenade trap. It works the same as a tripwire trap, only that it will arm the grenade when tripped. Walking players will not trigger it, but a running player will be in trouble. Concepts: -Traps- Well, I think it could be a good tool for the sneakier players. -Tree Climbing- Think about it, panicking and sprinting for the treeline while being chased by a horde of zombies. Hiding in the tree, taking potshots at the growing group. Zombies can't climb, but you'd be a sitting duck for anyone with a gun. Bandits could also light the tree on fire and watch the player squirm as they weigh their options. -Heatstroke- We have penalties for low body temperature, so why not high? Sprinting in a ghilie suit on a hot summer day cross country should make them pass out pretty quickly. -Herbal Therapy- This is a big one, but how about making herbal medicine? Some plants would be good for painkillers, some would help fight infection. Use real plants so that smart players would have the advantage. Have some deadly ones mixed in like Hemlock. That way, a smart player will be using St. John's Wort and the idiots will be nibbling on Hemlock.
  18. Our group had some tents and some vehicles and we only lost a car. About the tents, I have no idea. But if the vehicles are damaged and the server restarts, you'll lose it.
  19. Logged on a few minutes ago after being unable to due to the loading bug earlier and our camp is now completely gone, no tents, no vehicles, nothing. Thought it was a faulty restart but my tent I had on another server is missing now too. What's going on? The forum is too full of bitching, I can't find anything useful. Did the servers get wiped as a result of this rollback?

    I found a camp at UK41

The vehicle hoarding is bullshit, destroyed all the vehicles i found one time outside the map though, after i saved one for myself. Was sweet.

    Vehicles break too easily

OP is a terrible driver. However I've had vehicles spontaneously explode on me in vanilla Arma 2 after clipping rocks, so its more likely an engine issue to be fixed in a beta patch.

    Build 1.7.2 Rolling Update

First off... New forums are sick! love it. Now about the new patch. [bUGS] It is extremely easy to duplicate items in this current patch - Happened to us by mistake. But this is what we've found as a group. If you do not upgrade, from 1.7.1.5 and play on the 1.7.2 server, you can run around looting, shooting all that nice stuff, without any zombie aggro what so ever. You can also just jump back into a 1.7.1.5 server and have all your gear you had before you died. If a player was to shoot you. Again, this was discovered by mistake by our group of players, one of the guys didn't update correctly, but was able to play. You can loot, and so long as you jump back onto a 1.7.1.5 server before dying in 1.7.2 it saves all your gear + location. This is obviously extremely easy to exploit rare loot spawns be it by server hopping through the barracks or simply running like a maniac. Then the clincher. once you have found the GPS, L85 etc etc. you go back to your 1.7.1.5 server it saves. you go back to your buddies and then simply respawn. They loot your phat lewts, while you simply abort, go back to any 1.7.1.5 server, you are spawned again with the full kit. rinse and repeat. We didnt have an L85 etc but we did manage to easily duplicate a boatload of items. I'm seeing a lot of people "xxx was killed" over and over, so i'm assuming that we're not the only group to stumble upon this bug/exploit. There is also one other HUGE exploit. Ghillie suits. If you stay on version 1.7.1.5, log into a 1.7.2 server and you're wearing the ghillie you have none of the issues we are facing when wearing it on 1.7.2. I.e no random spawns to the sea, no swimming indoors no warping around or respawns. What you do actually get is one HUGE advantage. because people in 1.7.2 can not see you. You are completely invisible They sometime can hear your footsteps, but not 100% of the time. and you can kill them. This has been tried and tested by ourselves to see what we can still actually do whilst not upgrading (after seeing the duplicating thing happen) This to me is almost more game breaking than the duping of the items, because there's nothing stopping some invisible ghillie guy following you back to your ents, vehicles. and raiding you, right while you stand there. Please fix it, as it's a game killer. [GOOD THINGS] The FPS / Performance is fantastic, i never really had FPS issues save a few hacked games with tons of satchels going off ring in front of me. But the game just feels so much more responsive. The zombies probability thingy, is great. Taking us out the comfort zone once again, and it's something you won't ever be able to get used to. great idea, and it's working (so far) very very well.
  23. sometimes on a server restart vehicles and tents dissapear. all of them. server needs to restart again and they will come back. This happens quite often. The reason it put you all the way back there (this happens sometimes aswell) was cos you drove all the way there without stopping. If you got out before berezino and disconnected before the restart you would of been saved there. Sometimes doesnt save you on a restart. It does if u dissconnect or loose connection in a car but not if the server restarts whilst you were driving. Hope this helps and hope you find the hilux again, im guessing its where u last left it before the server restarted. Server just needs an other restart. Good Luck
  24. ZombieX

    First impression: This sucks.

Check your 3D resolution setting in the visuals. Even if you have everything maxed, if it's not set to the proper res, things will look blurry. I found that one out myself. Odd, but there it is... As others have said: it's in alpha. Thirdly, there's a lot more to the game than a lot of singular-minded people seem to understand... still... if people aren't spoon-fed goals and told what to do, it's as if far too many people cant think for themslves. The game is about survival, and it's not actually "minimalistic"; there's a lot to it in terms of the mechanics. Having to/being able to loot, eat and drink (an accurate mechanic; the more you run, the faster/more you have to eat and drink), being able to get infected, many different weapons, intensely stealthy but also some great action if you're quick and know what you're doing, and the use of everything from matches and wood to start campfires in order to cook meat, which you get by obtaining a hunting knife to gut animals, the use of medical supplies you find such as morphine, blood bags and bandages... ...and keeping yourself alive. "Just" staying away from zombies? It's all part of using stealth, or balls-out firefights if you're quick enough and set-up for it... but, boring? Is that statement serious? Man, the tension and atmosphere in the game are intense. Zombies cause serious damage, and you also have other players to worry about, just as in a real-life scenario. You're constantly having to change positions, decide how to approach an objective, such as moving your way through a town filled with zeds, possibly players as well, and how you're going to snag the loot there-in to survive. Excellent music/ambiance in the background, and the lighting and day/night cycles add to the mood. Yes, there's a bunch of issues right now... but alpha is alpha, beta is beta... what do you expect? You have to "make your own fun" in an open world, decide how you're going to survive and fight (and sneak) hard to do it. It's not Call of Duty, man. Do you team-up with someone? Will you get sniped out in a field or aggro zombies that are around the corner from a building you're attempting to enter? Will you get whacked by another player when you're walking through a town or building where they're hiding, and/or eaten by the rotting flesh-bags roaming around? Will you find enough food and drink to survive to take with you on your trek around the world? Will you find enough ammo to protect yourself? When should you/should you not fire-off a shot? Or take the chance of looting a town? There's also vehicles, though it can be hard to get one in working order; once in a while you'll find one that already is, however, but don't count on it, so there's vehicle parts you can hunt for. It's a game for people who love stealth and tactics, both in terms of tactical movement and planning, even in terms of eating, drinking, where/when to find/use food, what items are most important to stock up on, and there's stil plenty of shooting, if you've enough ammo to go that route. Most people don't like the open PvP aspect, but, that just adds to the realism. For those who are into a game with more depth, we'll keep coming back, even if annoyed that some jamook sniped you from a treeline or tower, or you accidentally got swarmed by zeds and ended up becoming zombie meat. But, if you don't "get it", then it's obviously not your thing... but how many times does this "game" (mod) have to be explained? People need to check into things more before they get into it, if they're unsure as to what it's "all about". If you don't enjoy it, then don't play it, no one is forcing you to. If you do want to play it, try to hook-up with/make some friends, as going it alone is far tougher. Fun as hell when you can pull it off, but can be very difficult.
  25. So, my friends recently opened a new server and invited me onto it. The moment it comes up we log on and try to run to vehicle spawn spots so we can have a UAZ and 1-2 backup cars on our new home. On my way to the NE Airstrip, I encountered 2 tents which was very odd(both empty), as only like 2 random people had joined so far. Upon logging in late, another one of our friends said there was wire fencing blocking off the building he was in. We all ran to several different vehicle spawns that we knew of, and none had vehicles. Do new servers just copy the world of a previous map under the same server name? Or what happened.
