@RustyShmakle Shift to first gear when going up a hill slowly. Ada actually has the best performance going up a hill but you need to shift first gear. Keep it in first gear until you climb it. No, that is not how cars work IRL, unless the hill is really steep but this is the problem with vehicles in DayZ at least since 0.62. Even when driving fast like 60 on the asphalt, it is still better to downshift at least one gear to maintain speed up hill.

And so there are no features because there is a possibiility that people may use them... A game that hates when people are thinking. You can build a wall thats easy to raid and npcs can just ignore it and walk in like it's not even there... This is reality. Mods are upgrading this part of the game but the problem is still the same: its engine. The game not only hates when people are thinking. It also hates when people are playing it and leaving anything behind on a map. It will lag, which means that hostile object was installed somewhere. "Also, the ability to remove hay bails and mounds would be AMAZING. Not to mention other decorative vehicles (camper vans etc)" - now that's even harder thing to accomplish... Interactive map? You're kidding? Each change like that will leave a marktodelete reference which (bigger numbers) will clog databases in the end. So far this game has disappearing grass (texture related) and refreshing trees (each reset). That's propably the limit. Anything else needs a lot of work.

I used to play DayZMod. I don't like getting into fire-fights for the sake of it, or rampaging around the map looking for people to attack. I like: · quieter servers. · PvE and helping human players to escape from zombies, or from starvation/injury. · collecting and stashing gear; hiding it so it is hard to find. · exploring the map and sneaking around, avoiding conflict with people; following players to find their tents/bases/vehicles, and raiding them later. Does DayZ do this kind of gameplay well? Or is it mostly about just running around shooting people and destroying stuff?

The 'types_dzn.xml' file, for example, was an addition by the Namalsk Island or Namalsk Survival mod (not sure which one) to add frozen items to the map. The file actually sits in the 'db' folder with the standard 'types.xml' file.

Hello Dayz Community Peoples, I have been playing and more recently modding xbox nitrado server, usually just boosting some things maybe making a gun or two spawn more and making the vehicles spawn complete havent had any issues, until i recently switched back to play livonia and now its almsot like my xml file corrupted somehow, i have tried pretty much everything i can think of and have done a weekly wipe to try fixing it with new modded files. the things I've "modded": - AK101 - M4A1 - Winchester - Gunter2 - V3S - outside of this I halfed zombies and slightly boosted food, meds, and building materials and added in a custom plank spawn. all thing i have done before and not had this issue

Hi, I was trying to make the vehicles from this mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2428707135 spawn on my Livonia server, but somehow I'm lost on how to do that. Going by the files there are no seperate parts like doors/tires, which is cool, but the files to make them spawn as is seem to be missing too. Any advice?

In a sparsely populated server I have a Volga deposited in a farm shed where I put a fence behind and a front door inside with 4-digit padlock and if I don't use it (very little, only for possible recovery of barrels, crates or the like) I also close the external doors with a lock pick. For a few days I realized that I can no longer interact with the external doors (those of the shed)... I see the icon to interact, I press the button, the "swivel" starts but it disappears immediately. I don't know if such a thing has happened to someone. Sometimes it happens to me, especially with the petrol tank, that the character wraps up and I see the tank inside the backpack but the game still considers it in my hand and I can't take anything anymore... but it's different... and just go out and back in and everything settles down. I tried several times to go out and back but nothing... I waited for some server restarts but nothing... I was already worried... until, just yesterday, a player asks me for friendship. I accept it and write to him asking what he wanted. This replies that we are few on that server and if you could collaborate and then he asks me about the vehicles, that he needs one and can not find any, and if I know where to find one. I answer him generically about how the vehicle spawn works, I DON'T tell him that I have 2 cars to use... but that I know where a Volga is parked but that it belongs to someone and I don't like the raid and the "to break the balls to the next" and that if he wants we can organize a few games together and that I would gladly help him get a car. And we agreed so... This morning I log on to the server and go immediately to check the doors of the shed and... miracle... they work again. Inside seems to be everything but... is disappeared one car door of the Volga... Has that ever happened to you? Since it has already happened to me the "sly man on duty", and I would not want to waste my time with another of these... according to you: They are just "strange combinations" and the lack of interaction these days with the doors of the shed is just a defect of the game and car doors disappear normally? Or did it really happen to me again the "sly man on duty" and now I'm just "my problems"? 😯

Hello Survivors, It's been a while since we last made a proper blog post for the state of DayZ. Thus, I would like to give you a brief summary of the development of DayZ that happened this year. DayZ in 2020 The core work for our team in 2020 was founded on four major updates to support the game and expand on its content. We are happy to see that, although this year presented us with significant challenges due to the pandemic, all updates except one could be released within our schedule. They featured new and returned weapons, the M3S truck, and features such as the cold survival, broken legs, or the rework of the fireplaces. DayZ 2020 in content 5 new/returned weapons Returned broken legs Returned the M3S truck Massive upgrade to the cooking and cold survival Upgrades to Chernarus New base building flags for easier base persistence Continued modding support While 2019 was a year of releases for Xbox, PlayStation, and our Livonia DLC, 2020 was aimed at providing new content for you, as well as stabilizing the game, and giving meaning to survival features. Basic balancing elements of DayZ like cold and hunger finally got their deserved attention, to make the game tough, but still fair and encouraging towards new players. We continue to empower modders and server owners to the best of our possibilities, to allow them to create and shape their own worlds and adventures in them. We are just beginning to check out the next-gen consoles' hardware, which will hopefully allow us to overcome some of the major frame-drops that console players have been fighting with since our initial releases there. With support from new additions to our team, we hope to resolve our ongoing weaknesses regarding some of the synchronization issues and physics-related problems with vehicles.
