Testing... more like Farming and car stashing.There are good reasons why you are not allowed to lock, password or kick random people from your server. Then again, with the recent instability of patches admins got plenty of reasons to check if it's all working properly. It's still fishy tough, I'd bet my M107 that when you join that server when the admin stops kicking all the vehicles are nowhere to be found. -
This probably belongs in the suggestion forum, but oh well. here goes... I'm currently on day 27. I have NVGs, a DMR (looted AS50 and m107, but can't scope witht he NVGs on so I tossed them), anti-biotics, and basically everything else you can think of. I've repaired vehicles, been too every destination on the map, and killed my fair share of players and infected. As far as end-game content goes, I'd much rather keep it with its current style of "this is your story", i.e. no set quests or objectives. I would, however, like more team play encouraged. I'd like a working system for bandits/survivors (having someone shoot at you and miss, then killing them, shouldn't make you a bandit). I believe this adds a cooperative element to the game, and also makes it more interesting (you couldn't trust everyone just becuase they didn't have a bandit skin). I think there needs to be a reintroduction of a global chat (or a much further range chat) through the use of a somewhat rare radio item. In the future (stand-alone version), the map needs to be larger (i'm talking 500km^2 at least) with waaaay more buildings to explore.

My friends and I had spent many hours looking for vehicles on this server. We found a bus in Elektro, gathered the many materials for it, and filmed it leaving the town! Not even 10 minutes into driving it, we get this message saying "no message received in x amount of time", or something along those lines. We got kicked off, and have been waiting for the server to come up for several hours now. What happened? Should I give up and find another party bus? Thanks- a concerned player

Hello. I am the owner of OM6. We currently do have a base with vehicles, and currently we have a GAZ. A red one we picked up in Stary with loads of loot inside it. It required 3 wheels and me and my friend repaired it and drove off without being fired upon, hassle free. From what I was aware of there was no firefight or recorded death of me and my friend during that time as I was there the whole time. I would also like to add chat is disabled in my server, and it has been for around 2 weeks, meaning that the part where the names never popped up in chat is very strange. We also recovered a GAZ around 3 weeks ago, so I have no idea where you are getting that from either. I must also add two days ago our server was down for a good five hours or so due to maintenance. Also, just as a note, I have not died in around four days, last time I died it was due to debug spawn, and I am the only one with access to the Control Panel & RCON Password. Anyhow, as you seem to be wanting to land us in the shit, I must also add you cut out the part of the response I made back to. I am afraid you are either mistaken for someone else, or trying to grass us up. -

Hi Goldeen I see that you have edited your post at 1:30pm and 2:34 pm and lety me just see that u're a fucking lier cause my server is down atm. yes, i have some problems : Bear traps, vehicles, update 1.7.2.3 (up this night at 1am and didn't play after), tents and save characters. "there was no notice of any testing this time" thx u make me laught. A last question, is it you "Ale" ig? if u are trust in me you will be ban shortly and you can crying to DayZ Staff i'll never let a kid insult my family or me. -

Hello, would just like to inform you that all of our clan's tents have disappear along with all our vehicles. We had about 15 tents and 6 vehicles which have all magically vanished. Is there a problem? -
I cant see why its so unreasonable to find military weapons on a map like this considering there is a vast ammount of military vehicles littered all over. I would assume that in the event of a zombie appocalypse, the armed forces and other millitary assets would be deployed to combat the deadites, evacuate civilians and so forth, and ofc, when thair sieged citys and camps get overrun alot of equipment is left behind and lost. It makes sense to me.

Guy spawns in behind me and is throwing grenades(overthrowing like crazy), ME: Challenge Accepted.. So I turn and hit him point blank range and see the blood spatter with the M107. Pretty much directly in the face. He starts popping shots at me with a CZ 550 and missing. So I did the unthinkable, alt f4'd him. Before he shot his CZ, he was throwing a grenade like every other second, way faster than normally possible. Could of been lag though. But when I hit him with the .50 and he didn't die, and put 15 rounds into him from the M9 SD at <5m away... he just looked at me and was like.. http://2media.nowpub...5581ea096db.jpg Me: Seems legit? This thread = needed. This is the only time I'll ever alt F4. I've seen people spawning vehicles and weapons, but god mode scripts? Are you that terrible?

The title might be misleading but i didnt want it to be too long. what i meant was " What i think should be changed in future patches " this is only my opinion, and i,m putting this out there, just to see if i,m the only one that has this opinion. 1. zombie...zigzagging... nuff said 2. Higher loot rates, i believe there used to be that, but it were taken down a bit. i think they should take it up again, i,ll have to check halfway through cherno to find anything else than empty whiskey bottles and tin cans. 3. vehicles less rare... i understand that they should be rare in a game like dayZ... but they are TOO rare... please, just make em' spawn once ever 3rd or 4th town, rather than once or twice on the entire map. 4. GIVE US BACK OUR STARTING ITEMS... This, does NOT cooperate well with nr. 2, seriously... i can live with low loot rates, and i can live without starter items. but both!? Its to hard to start up again once you've died now. 5. Millitary weapons spawn rarely in residential/industrial areas aswell... instead of just the 5-6 millitary spots in entier chernarus... again, this was just MY opinion, if you didnt like it please just go away from this page. if you agree'd with me, on any, or all of these, please tell me in the comments :) -

you misunderstood me. i didnt want anyone who didnt agree, to post a comment, because i knew it would lead to "YOU NOOB, VEHICLES ARE EAASY TO FIND " comments, and other things of that caliber... and so what if my ideas arent original? i wasnt making a thread that i was gonna send in to dean and force him to make it that way. i only just said what I thought should be changed? why should i search for that? but thanks for the comment anyway... -
So, I'm on a random low pop US server trying to get an ALICE pack, since it's almost impossible in ANZ 1 full 50/50 in the day without a gun. I head to Stary Sobor, grab my shit and get out. On the way back to my super secret camp full of vehicles and tents and other goodies, I decide to stop by the barracks. I get there, oh fuck there's a chemlight ~ serverhopper. I look at it, for about a minute, it's not moving. I walk slowly up to the window but can't see shit, crank up the gamma and the windows become a gray smear. Since I can't hear anything inside and the light's not moving and it's in the back room, I come to the conclusion someone was using a chemstick, raided the barracks, went back to the back room and disconnected leaving the chemstick, since they last 60 minutes. I head inside, looting everything room-by-room, and walk into the last room, and OH SHIT BALLS, there's a guy there looting, facing my direction. I spray him down with the M14 AIM, get the murder kill and his body sinks into the ground. The little disconnecting, server hopping faggot. He did leave around 15 STANAG mags on the ground and a fuckload of flares. I have no idea what he was doing, he was there for atleast 5 minutes while I was also, walking around the barracks.

they come back on a restart. just like wire fencing, tank traps, blown up vehicles. All magically repair themselves on a restart. obviously dont know what your talking about. -
so much tinfoil hat with you. lol being as he is the other admin for the server its not suprising that he would be on in a different area to let me know if tents / vehicles are spawning yet. and actually when you where on the server after everything was working properly nice log out after your mate died to our ambush :) eat a dick noob

Then those vehicles you see would take more rounds to stop. Sometimes you only get 2 rounds to place, and you aren't always going to hit tires or the driver. -
Basically, lets make a list of all the player placeable items we'd like to see available for building up player made camps/settlements... Tents: slight change so they can be placed between/under trees. Campfires: same change as for tents. Army Tent: The large tents located at the various military encampments in the game. Provides protection from the rain and lets the players dry off and warm up. Hesco Barrier: The version that is a bit taller than player height. Takes a lot of explosives to breach or a very long time with an E-tool. Good exterior wall to protect those inside the camp from snipers. Lockable Doors and Vehicle Gates: Barred from the inside and open able to be opened from there (or blown up/crashed through). Put a couple doors on the sides of the base so you can send out people to deal with that pesky sniper, or a large set of gates to drive your vehicles out through. Watch Tower: Similar to the deer stands, but sandbagged to better protect the occupant. Sandbag Bunker: Perhaps another option when using sandbags? Community Raincatcher: Made with a barrel and tarp, serves same purpose as a water well. Spotlights: As mentioned in another thread. Camp Lights: Kind of like short, portable street lamps, about 3 meters high. Ground Lights: To make landing markers for helicopters or to help guide ground vehicles towards the camp entrance. Blue (doesn't interfere with nightvision but is still plenty visible to those without). Generators: To power the above. Weapon Racks and Supply Crates: Same purpose as tents really, to store scavenged items, but placeable inside of Army Tents and allows the easy differentiation of what they contain. Weapon racks perhaps only able to contain main weapons, and up to 20 per rack. Fuel and Supply Trucks: Not placed items, but vehicles that you would take into towns/factories to fetch larger ammounts of fuel and gear that you would then use to refuel and supply vehicles back at your base (those helicopters and offroad vehicles need a lot of fuel to keep em running). Vehicle Shelters: Either the large tents designed for field maintenance of vehicles or being able to build the quonset hut hangars (but perhaps smaller) out of corugated steel sheets and framing. Used perhaps to amplify repairs made to vehicles (so it takes less scrap metal to repair a part?) or just cool structures in order to store your vehicles. Cots: Only placeable inside of Army Tents or Vehicle Shelters where it's (relatively) warm and dry. Players can lay down on them and rest for a while and perhaps regain some blood (only up to the point where they are no longer suffering extremely destrimental effects like heart-beat-shake and loss of color vision?) or cure some negative effects (such as the pain from some injuries) after a set time. Increases hunger and thirst while you're resting so you better have some breakfast ready when you get up! So lets hear what else people would like to see for camp gear/structures!

I voted Yes. I tried an experiment a few weeks ago " A week playing as a medic " thread to see how easy or hard it was for an individual player to role him/herself in a capacity other than what you started as.......which appears to be an indivdual who is competent in every weapon system developed, able to repair and operate all known vehicles and an accomplisshed survivalist and medical technician and combat engineer. It did not go well. I suggest that a player could commit to a choice on character creation and be unable to alter that choice. My area of interest in the game was as the volunteer medical support line,a choice that would actually hamper your ability to equip certain weapons. 1) You lose your main weapon slot, you can equip melee and tools but no rifles. 2) You can equip a distinctive backpack or uniform to show you are a medical character ( Red backpack or redcross armband ) 3) The backpack is only equippable by a medical character and has a slightly larger inventory for medical items only, and a small section that is unlootable....to possibly place high value medical items like antibiotics or blood transfusions for other players. This is class. This hampers your combat ability, while allowing a highly visiable ( no cammo ) equipment to be used. -
The vehicles are spawned server side so I don't see a reason why somebody should use a vehicle spawn script client side, so I guess that is on purpose.

It seems this file contain all the dayz-included vehicles/weapons so there will be many false-positives? And yes I believe the script restriction # is the line number of the scripts.txt file. I.e. 177 is ural which is included in dayz. Sorry if I'm wrong about this, just trying to make sure I understand it. Thanks for clarification.

If you'll read Alone was the keyword in that sentence which means the only one of those deaths that counts is the rock glitch, a bandit means you werent alone, and same for zombies. Also if you read the comment i was replying to he uses places to pitch tents, and leave vehicles and also says "as far away for buildings/hotspots as possible" inside a barn is not a where he was talking about, nor was I. Every barn is listed on the map at dayzmap.info so again the only legitamte death you listed is the rock glitch one which i personally do not know anyone who has experienced although it could be more common then i believe, to show up on this heatmap many people would need to die in the same spot to make a mark, which in the wilderness is unlikely. -

UAZ refers to the factory, not the vehicles themselves. Found that red one aswell. It's in Stary Sobor, right next to the military tents. We even managed to repair it and drove it into the woods, after which the server went offline and hasn't come back since. Shame. Spotted it on several other servers in the same place but I'm too afraid to repair it in daylight. -

For those who are not having any issues with Ghillie suits or Camos.... Are your characters saving properly? Were guys wearing them before 1.7.2 / 1.7.2.3? If not, what were you doing when you put it on and did your character stay where they were when you logged out? Also, were you able to pick up items out of tents/vehicles?
