I would like to see vehicles used more in general. Heli's tend to be a bit OP and make the map seems smaller than it is, but if you made them a epic group projects, that could work out well.
-
How about stuff dealing with sex? I've seen a few and I don't think people get the message that it's impossible and not needed at all. As well as more vehicle suggestion threads. I for one feel we have enough vehicles as it is and that they are perfect as it is now. Otherwise +1 on this getting a sticky!

ditto and keep in mind not everything can be just put into an alpha mod maybe when it is a stand-alone game dreams might come true.........tazers,mace spray and defibs some like that the equipment ideas are endless not just vehicles but horses or w/e

Yes. To find more guns and ammo you must continue to find the other crash sites. There are between one and three random crashes on each server after each restart. They are literally scattered EVERYWHERE. We have driven around for the past few weeks in vehicles scavenging them after each restart and creating a nice route to follow each time.

tbh I think your kick reason is suspicious. Having 3 vehicles isnt rare when you can find vehicle spawn locations all over the internet and dayz wiki. the fact you say they have 11 car wheels is not suspicious at all if you know the game like I do, we got 6 car wheels from a factory tonight in like an hour or so. the 21 cooked meat is like 15 minutes work when you drive around. The fact that you haven't seen them before on your server is not weird either, they could be living in a different timezone then you unless your now gonna say you play 24/7 and watch the player list like a hawk... Whats suspicious about your story is that you kick 3 guys in vehicles and then try to justify it by saying they had gear on them that YOU find suspicious, gear you only discovered AFTER the facts... sounds to me you kicked them for having 3 vehicles which you wanted. EDIT: Oh and FYI this is the ban appeal thread not the cheating one... or did you ban them and are looking now if they are filling a complaint against you lol.

Server TX20 admin abuse
fatal (DayZ) replied to SpongyChief101's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Oh yes, because kicking an internet cable or just losing connection is a much more likely cause especially after being shot at right before.. And no we are not mad. We die, we lose gear, vehicles, and you know what we do? We get more and continue having a great gaming session because the games not about gear. No problem. But I do ask that you leave the immature taunts behind. It doesn't help your case. -
Unless we get flags/effects for murder, this game will just be Deathmatch.
chhopsky replied to PinkTaco24's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is called Supply & Demand. Weigh up your capabilities vs the risk vs the reward and act accordingly. You want something this game is not and will never be. If the community support was really so vivid for this then servers would be FILLED with people banding together wanting to take on murderers, huge mobs of survivors would raze the servers of bandits. I cannot help but to notice that is not occurring. Really? I regularly play with 1 - 3 other people that I know IRL and we have no problems. What are you doing wrong? The figures don't show what you're saying. All that said, I like some of your suggestions: 1. I'd like to see more aggressive and random zombie behaviour and greater numbers that would make more dangerous areas that you perhaps couldn't fight off without more people. That would make things feel more dangerous but at the moment I feel greater worry about other players than zombies because I can predict the zombie behaviour. Maybe I shouldn't be able to? Not sure. Random hordes of zombies running between areas chasing a rabbit for example. Or places populated with LOTS of them, with great gear. Needs more zombies. 2. More character customisation would be very useful, yes. 3. Yes, more things to do would be good. It's difficult to craft that tool set to make it not 'event' WoW-Raidey but it's doable. 4. Vehicles are great because of the distances involved, they can make crossing dangerous areas much more safe. Maybe I was worse when I started playing but I seem to remember it being much harder to simply survive now. Maybe I'm being smarter. Who knows! -
Special Events ? - ie Halloween etc
Zeromentor replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'd be happy with zombies wearing pumpkins on their heads. And maybe replacing vehicles with giant spiders with tank turrets for the lolz. FOR THE LOLZ. -
US 100 --- 2 vehicles while i was running in the wilderness bout 9:00 nighttime....i heard them honkin their horn and they came right for me but no headlights?..i thought for sure id see headlights since they were headed straight for me...how could they see? anyways the one truck creamed me and there went some decent shit but nothin special

I assume that if you choose to go military, you get kitted out with military gear and perhaps military vehicles? It'd be pretty difficult to say no to that, survivor or bandit unless someone will execute you for failing your duties. Also banditry within the military? haha i love it
-
After the server booting everyone from Seattle 136 and rebooting a few times all tent stashes and vehicles owned have disappeared. Has the server been reset to a earlier saved position, or de synced, or will they return when the server has reset again properly?
-
Would it be better to just have a small military force(1 to 5 ratio) trying to kill everyone. These military are actual players so your getting your PVP and at same time removing this"trying to be nice and getting killed for it" feeling in dayz.My mind screams not realistic when I got shot in the face with my weapon pointed at floor. Now if I was up in the mountains and see a heavily armed military squad driving slowly up the road with intent of killing all infected and any survivors they come across,I would be in heaven.Forget the NWAF,you want military vehicles and weapons then you attack the military players. Could be that you need to be an elite player where you survive for set amount of time, killed certain amount of zeds and then get asked if you would like to play as military.Military always spawn where ever the actual squad is in that server as playes get killed off.
-
Well, I don;t know if it's been stopped yet, but there was some Russian guy streaming a hack or whatever that allowed him to see the locations of players, vehicles, and tents. At the very least, someone with this could see their truck was in motion and get to it asap. But I don't know if it still a problem.

battle eye kicked for corrupted memory error #0?
MrEpicGoat replied to sakage (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Yeah, looks like there was a DB wipe as well (all vehicles respawned, tents deleted, and everyone respawned on US 40). Also looks like the BE master server is down... *facepalm* -

A world where only a handful of people are surviving a zombie/infected apocalypse has nothing to do with our current societal norms and rules. The two settings are completely different and have very little in common with each other. Trying to impose the human behavior of a society that has plenty into a game about surviving zombies with limited resources isn't going to work. Ever. Oh, and our current society norms are not very old. As for the guys sniping and camping the major towns, some of them just have nothing to do and shooting other players is definitely entertaining. Anyone who says otherwise must be living under a rock and failed to witness the largest driving force in all of gaming, shooting people for fun. Once you're geared up you don't really have anything to do than look for hard to find vehicles. I imagine a good portion of these guys would stop if they had something better to do. Not all but many. I only ever do this after I die up north and want to kill some bandits. Next day, back to the wild. -

[UPDATED] Ghost Response Team - Taking Applications
GhostSe7en posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Ghost Response Team [RECRUITMENT: CLOSED] Warning: This is a recruitment thread, and a wall of text. If you wish to skip the reading and join us, please go here http://dayzgrt.enjin.com --------------- What is Ghost Response Team? GRT is a group of like minded individuals who share the same common goal, survival, protection, and family. We have been focused on nothing except expanding our numbers and outfitting them with the best gear we can find. Which in turn allows us to find more people and get them geared. We look to help those in need, and punish those who focus on hurting others for no reason. We respect that people play the game how they see fit, however if they choose to kill, loot and pilage, then we to will attack with the full extent we can. We are a Military Structured team. That being said, we do this more for functionality of gameplay rather than busting down recruits and pushing for progression of the ranks. We have missions / overwatch / medic response / assault squads / mechanics. Doing it this way allows everyone to play how THEY want to play. What time zones do you play in? Actually the beauty to GRT is that we actually have two fully operational squads so far: Alpha Division - 1st US Command - These are the players who play in the US / Canada Bravo Division - 1st UK Command - These are the players who play in the UK & Surrounding Areas / Australia / Pacific How long have you been playing this game? It's a mixture, on average most of us have played since it was first launched. We have new members that are constantly learning, and we have others range from two days to 2 weeks. At this point we aren't looking for ONLY experience players as our core 20-30 original members are already experienced. What sets you apart from other Clans / Guilds / Groups? I get asked this a lot, and I find the simple answer is, everything. I have been gaming for about 14 years. Through those years I have been in countless clans, guilds, groups. So many I can't even list them, because honestly they lacked what people look for and need for fun gaming. A community, a family. Sure people can offer that, but how many people have belonged to a 200 person guild where everyone knew each other? Their girlfriends and boyfriends names? Knew what they did for a living? Met up and hung out? Well I have, and have always promoted that. Gaming is something that should be done for enjoyment, not rage, not anger, frustration. It should be done for enjoyment. When I get off work I look forward to going home, hoping on TeamSpeak / Vent / Skype / Mumble and start gaming with everyone. Joke with people, relax, ESCAPE reality and your normal life to something more. So what do we offer? That, the escape to have fun, mixed with the push for perfection. Do you honestly have squads? Correct, we do have squads. What is the point of having a squad? Well this game more than any other game really does promote this type of process. You have a Squad Leader who is responsible for direction of the team, where to go, how to approach things. He decides what the play is. He should be praised for accomplishing and doing well, and feel responsible for when things don't. We have a sniper, who provides overwatch and is an excellent marksman. This person doesn't go into the city, he watches from afar and alerts to the squad what is going on around them. They are responsible for dispatching, upon command, as many people as needed to make sure the team leaves in one piece. We have two assault/comandos who are in the trenches covering the medic(s) and mechanic(s). They are who you want with you to get you out of any building. They will push through troves of zombies or a full unit of attackers themselves. You want them to to put their lives on the line when you are in the shit, because you know they will come out on top. We have two rotation spots, usually being two medics. However the situation may arise for two mechanics or one of each. The Medic(s) aren't helpless fools. They are in-charge of keeping the squad alive and helping survivors. The reason they are a medic though is that they focus on holding epi-pins, morphine, bloodpacks, bandages, etc. They have some ammo, and some food, but the others carry the supplies for them so that they can be the most efficient. The mechanic too is a commando, but he carries a lot of things that others don't. Thus sacrificing the stopping power of weapons, but gains the power of mobility. If we look to get off this damn rock, we need to find some transportation. Do you help everyone in need? It depends. If you are already one of us then you will have our help no matter what happens. Through thick and thin. If you aren't one of us then we will do what we can to get you out alive. We apologize for our hesitation, but we do know a lot of people lay traps and ambushes to try and better their gear, which is I guess how they play, what keeps us safe is our numbers. You may take a life, but be sure you understand you will not make it out alive. But yes, in general, we will try to help everyone in need. Where do you normally hang out at in game? We have a few different areas that we stay close to so that we can respond quickly. We also are always on survey and security around heavy traffic areas. We know survivors will head to these locations in order to look for help, supplies, or to cause problems. With each of those scenarios, we can help. Can you give me free stuff? We aren't a charity network, but we will help where we can. Like I said if you are one of us, then we will make sure that you get geared so that you can aide us in the best way possible. If you are an experienced DayZ player you know that gear comes and goes because of Zed's / PK'ing / Alpha Glitches etc. We have a team dedicated to nothing but getting gear for our team. How do you get all of your gear / equipment / weapons / camo? Some of our team has the best of the best. Real players of DayZ know the great areas and where things spawn. It takes time and patience. Once again though numbers play a huge roll, if we find something on someones wish list we take it and deliver it to them. Do you have vehicles? We do, do you? Are you guys bandits? Not at all, we focus on the positive side of the game. That being said, everyone turns into a bandit when they need to. Think of us a Robin Hood's Pirates. We protect those in need and make those who don't play nice suffer. We take loot from the land and give to the poor. Our rule of thumb is that we do not shoot the unarmed and if you shoot at us, do know we will shoot back. If we miss, we will hunt you down. We aren't here to grief people, and we aren't here to make people not enjoy the game. Do you kill without reason? Never, there is always a reason. Do we spawn kill and grief other players? No. What do you feel about hackers? Glitchers? Game Abusers? I'm not a white knight, and i'm not hear to tell people how to play their games or live their lives. Everyone does things because they feel they should. We don't condone hacking, glitching, or game abusers. Why? Because my grandma says those players are rookies, and i'm not about to call my grandma a liar. -------------------------------------- Join us now! http://dayzgrt.enjin.com So in closing, we look forward to seeing all of you in game one way or another. Myself and my team has had a lot of fun playing so far, as we look to the future we are excited to contribute to the growth of DayZ. If you have any questions please feel free to respond to this thread, however my main source of being contacted is at our forums or our Mumble chat. Thanks for reading, good luck and happy hunting! -Ghost- 69 replies

New server US [FoE] based in Texas. Come and play or visit us at http://www.fistoftheempire.com Great ping, great server, great fun! fyi, don't join the old server that says 'Hosted by FoE'. It's broken and we lost control of it, HFB is lazy and won't reinstall. We cancelled and he hasn't even taken it down yet. Chance of spawning in debug and/or losing gear is high, something went very wrong with that server. Veteran 3DP:ON CH:ON Tags: OFF Restarts every 6 hours on server schedule at GMT+12 Brand New Server, new spawns, new vehicles, new everything. Come enjoy the fun!

I did notice that the vehicles etc were missplaced. Didn't realize it was changed until you mentioned it. But as for actually loading up and spawning the heli, it worked perfectly fine.

Killing Zombies with Vehicles counts towards overall zed kills
TractorFiend posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
What it says on the tin: When you run a zombie down, it doesn't currently count towards your zombie kills. I just mowed down 30, got nothing. -
So the other day i found a huge camp on the edge of the map, alot of tents filled with ammo, guns, medicines, car parts, tons of items really. i went through there abit and got some ammo and whatnot, then leaving the camp on one of their bicycles. Now a day later i decided to return there to see if anything happend, and surely, the entire camp has been flattened. Now i wonder, who does such a thing? Why would anyone ruin a camp like that? You can take items you want from it and leave, and come back there when you want some more ammo or whatever. By ruining it you dont help anyone, and i find it a shitty thing to do to ruin an entire camp like that were some people have spend alot of time on. I dont care if you loot it and steal their vehicles, but completely destroying it seems so pointless and cruel. Anyways i'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

how change config of the map (direction by location in the map)
pamonheiro replied to pamonheiro's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
hey guys now I have access how modify with filezilla FTP? and my server has two more problems I pitch tents but just disappear after 1 second I give save vehicles but disappear with restart I can make some else? ty -
Let me tell you this. Vehicles are easy to hide. Most of them hidden in plain sight take forever for people to find. The ones in the forest are easy to find because people expect them there. Not to mention there are ESP hacks out that display location of vehicles which is why vehicles disappear quickly.
-
Prove it! Half the other things in the changelog weren't fixed and from what I see, vehicles are still hidden off map.
