    Hackers On US23

Well let me just start off by saying I was mass nuked on a server by a hacker along with about half the server population while I was on the leaderboards for longest life lived I was number 16. It can be seen here at 16:30 to 17:30. http://www.livestream.com/specsniper/video?clipId=pla_50e493ba-5ac4-4bf0-a61f-cdb90199d4b6 Now that pissed me off and I was killed by hackers a few more times after that which I also have footage of. So after this ordeal I decide to go on a low population server with all my friends and just avoid people at all costs to not get killed by hackers again. So the major problem now is all of us have been going to different servers and fixing the vehicles one by one and using them. Apparently now people are using ESP hacks and found our vehicles and camps on more then 2 dozen occasions. First it was the OSF clan that would show up in our camp with Thermal scope M107's and steal our vehicles and items from tents that I guess they cant spawn? Now in the past week we got found moving from one side of the map to the other and these people have stolen every single vehicle we have had no matter how well hidden its the same people that find it everytime. So I would like you guys to please look into this matter becuase its extremley annoying that we work our asses off for a month to find vehicles and load em up with gear just to have people using scripts find our vehicles take them and come back and take them all no matter where we hide them. A team of 7-8 of us spend a week trying to recover our stolen vehicles meanwhile these guys find us every day at new locations across the map and take our only vehicle... This is just too game breaking for me and if something isnt done about this then whats the point of us having vehicles with survival gear in them when hackers just log in and steal them. On US23 currently we are suspecting a group of people who stole our vehicles. Currently Big Sarg , |TG|Pusher Six , LMM , Lemondish , Kyle were on and Big Sarg was spotted in our camp and killed apparently so we know he is one of them. Also might I add that I've seen a post of Manny Fre$h talking about esp hacks and vehicles being found everywhere so he can also be a suspect but im not certain about that. What I can say for certain is that these people are using vehicle location scripts theres no way they can spot the camp we move every day that are atleast 8,000 meters apart no one is that lucky... Either way its getting really annoying and game breaking and everyone is complaining about it. Hopefully you can atleast ban these hackers after checking if there logging scripts or something... I also have alot more footage of hackers killing players and can guarantee that not only do these people hack but they are cowards who disconnect at the first sign of a gunfight relog in and try to sneak up behind you... Seriously pathetic and something needs to be done about this. If you want more footage I have plenty of it including OSF disconnecting when being shot or shot at and them using illegal guns in game. Lets take care of this first and ill incrementally add more footage of these hackers so we can get this ban hammer rolling.

    I'm searching for a group/clan

We are currently recruiting new members. I am the owner of Omega-6 myself and I invite you to my clan. We have vehicles, weapons and combat experience and take fortnightly combat training. We are organized and maintain a chain of command, although this seems complicated, it makes sure everyone is happy and decisions are fair. We currently own a TS3, DayZ and killing floor server and as I said, we are recruiting. So feel free to give our forums a visit/sign up @ www.omega-6.co.uk

    Looking for dedicated players!

If you're looking to play with a community of people, who think the same way you do, and are all down to earth cool dudes, then add me on steam: Kevin51501. Also, we use teamspeak 3 instead of Skype. Easier that way. Also going to be purchasing a server next week for us to call a home. If that interests you, we can talk. If not, good luck! We're all experienced, and we're bandits who shoot to kill, rob from tents, and search for vehicles and camps as much as we can. We steal from the rich, and give to ourselves. ;) Me personally, I've been playing since May. So have most of the guys I run with. Some even from April I think.

    the Uh-1 are gone ?

They are only on select servers. Newer servers do not have any Choppers. This is because Choppers are known to cause problems and be bugged. Recent beta patches have been an attempt to fix the desync problem with vehicles. Ander hinted recently that the servers that updated recently will get chopper love possibly. :3

    About group in dayz

Technically this already exists. The Squad.XML that comes with Arma 2, you have a profile which displays information about your group if you are in one and also shows a 256x256 (Adjustable) graphic along with the information. This graphic also appears on some vehicles, and if I am right on your arm as well. I could be wrong about it appearing on your arm. However armbands are coming in the future.
  6. We are currently recruiting new members. I am the owner of Omega-6 myself and I invite you to my clan. We have vehicles, weapons and combat experience and take fortnightly combat training. We currently own a TS3, DayZ and killing floor server and as I said, we are recruiting. So feel free to give our forums a visit/sign up @ www.omega-6.co.uk
  7. I thought I would put my thoughts on weapons, having used them all over the course of 4 months in both in game and in ARMEX training facility. Trying to master the nuance of each, and apply that skillset to Dayz. Some of these thoughts are subjective, and an iron sight that someone does not prefer might be just the thing for another player. With server settings being so dynamic, depending on your criteria for servers results may also vary in this way. It is my thoughts that balance in dayz takes place over a continuum of anti-zombie versus anti-player with the balance of noise versus power. Side arms: Generally used verses Zombies, side arms are quiet, common and fit in a unique secondary slot. Glock 17: The Glock 17 is a 9mm, making tied with other 9mm for the quietest gun in the game. This gun has a 17 mag clip, a flashlight and is accurate with clear easy to use iron sights. It can also load m9 ammo, which gives it some scavenge versatility as well as an option for m9 (SD) for aggroless shooting. Great for the slow player who will shoot zombies in the head while they shamble slowly, it is a versatile and useful weapon made slightly less so by dayz server abundance making flashlights less and less needed by cherry picking day servers. The drawback to the 9mm is its lack of power and without headshots will lose much in ammo efficiency verse zombies and ability to drop targets fast in panic situation. M9: The M9 comes in two variants, silenced and regular and has a 15 mag clip. Unsilenced its usefulness is questionable as it lacks the versatility in ammo that the Glock 17 provides as well as the flashlight and while having clear and accurate iron sights still seems like its increased rarity is unwarranted. Silenced however it provides a miniscule sound signature to both players and zombies provided you can keep yourself using the rare m9 silenced ammo. M1911: .45s are very popular as of this patch as for a very slight increase in noise over 9mm you have the ability to drop zombies with body shots which helps in panic situations and situations where your characters aim is too shaky for headshots. The M1911 has 7 shots per magazine, and fires very fast making it also deadly to players in ranges where its inaccuracy will be mitigated and will lead players to passing out more often due to its stopping power. It also has the advantage over 9mm weapons that its ammo is more common around the map, and revolver ammo can be converted to M1911 and vice versa leaving little doubt as to why the M1911 is a popular and powerful sidearm. PDW: The PDW is an interesting weapon as it has the most ammo versatility in the game and can take every 9mm magazine in the game including MP5 and MP5 SD. Full auto it can spit bullets at a ferocious rate, mitigating the usual 9mm problems of not terribly good in panic situations at the cost of massive ammo consumption. The iron sights are not great, and while sneaking and slow playing headshots will be slightly harder to get than with its 9mm cousins but players in servers with crosshairs will do fine here. It has little stopping power for players, but it does have lethality so expect to drill a player for at least 10 bullets and don't stop shooting till he is dead. Revolver: The revolver is the more accurate, slightly less deadly cousin of the M1911. It holds one less bullet, shoots slower but is more accurate than the M1911. This accuracy can lead to longer range lethality to players via headshots and less misses verse zombies. 6 accurate shots per clip with the revolver or 7 shots at slightly less accuracy per magazine on the M1911 is a subject of much debate for ammo consumption efficiency. Both are very popular and powerful and I think it boils down to what you want and need out of your sidearm for which you prefer of the .45 caliber side arms. Makarov PM: With new found understanding of weapon damage, the much maligned Makarov only problem is it lacks the accuracy to reliably headshot like the 9mms and it lacks the body shot stopping power of the .45s. It is a midpoint that is not terribly useful as it does more damage per shot than the 9mm (2000 vs. 1389) for the same noise radius as the 9mm and is much less accurate with only 8 in the chamber. In a vacuum one could put two players close enough where its inaccuracy was irrelevant and fight the Makarov vs. a M9 or Glock 17 with no headshots for either side, the Makarov would win. Combine that with its super common ammo and you have the only possible advantages of the Makarov has over its competition and is generally and correctly seen as the weakest sidearm in the game. Assault Rifles: Assault rifles are the jack of all trades, master of none having a very high damage to noise ratio. AK-74: The AK-74 is a common and easy to use AR with not a whole lot going for it in comparison to the others in its class besides its ubiquity. It has easy to use Iron sights zeroed at 300m, which is its biggest drawback as at 300M headshots or inefficient fire is required for lethality. It takes 2 body shots to kill a zombie, and so suffers from harder to manage close range due to its higher zeroing, combined with the entire classes lack of a 1 shot body shot it still manages to be perfectly capable of killing zombies and players without bringing the horde down upon you with its class wide reasonable audible range. AKS: The AKS line is in my opinion, an improvement upon the AK-74 with the 74U variant zeroed at a more reasonable 200m and the Kobra having optics that when understood can do anything from 100m to 300m+. This makes it easier to get headshots as less compensation is needed for close range and 200m is about the maximum range most players would even try to shoot this class of gun at a person due to the massive bullet damage loss at ranges beyond that. The AKS-74U also has an amazingly short barrel that makes small corridors easy to navigate, and seems to have an even smaller barrel length than a sidearm due to a few nonscientific tests in the Cherno apartments! M16: The M16 is one of the more interesting guns in this class, and represents the worst and best in the class. The M16A2 and M16A2 M203 are in my opinion, the worst two guns in the class. Zeroed at 400M, these guns require massive compensation in close quarters, have no full automatic fire, the M203 makes the iron sights even harder to use and an M203 is not even lethal in one shot (it will however knock the individual out). The barrel length can be hard to manage in some buildings and even without an M203 I find the iron sights less useful than the AK-74. The gun however is very accurate and the M16A4 ACOG is when the weaknesses vanish and turn into strengths. The ACOG can effectively shoot at 100-600m and with headshots can even counter snipe. Servers with crosshairs beware; the M16A4 ACOG in the hands of a master is a player who can threaten all ranges without the worry of a zombie horde descending upon him. The M16A4 ACOG however is sadly super rare, and only available at barracks spawns. M4: The M4 and its variants are very popular, and for good reason. More accurate than the AK and AKS, yet having a faster rate of fire these guns are deadly. Having the ability to load SD rounds also gives the M4 line an added benefit in versatility if they want to take shots at zombies or players without the worry of alerting other zombies in the area. These guns come in many flavors from the SD version which trades inability to use regular Stanag magazines for miniscule noise to both players and zombies, to the CCO editions which have optics that make compensation for the 300m range a breeze. The M4A3 features camo and an added flashlight from the regular CCO. And the M4A1 HWS M203 has a unique optic and grenade launcher. The barrel length is also shortened in comparison to the M16, making it easier to use in small buildings. The Vanilla M4A1 is still a useful gun, it trades higher lethality for harder to use iron sights in comparison to the AK and can also use Stanag SD for aggroless combat but the rarity of the gun itself and ammo might chase some towards the AK line. Battle Rifles: Battle rifles are loud, lethal, and useful for killing players but far less noise efficient in terms of zombies. AKM: Common as dirt, the AKM is an amazing gun in its own strange way. Having the ability to kill zombies in one shot, while maintaining 30 rounds in the clip this gun can be used to clear towns out of zombies. It is relatively loud, but no matter as the ammo is very common and putting 30 zombies down in one clip makes it one of the most efficient ammo users in the game. It has the puzzling ability to be zeroed, which makes it super easy to use if you are willing to zero it, and also makes it a laughable sniper rifle if you use zeroing in conjunction with binoculars. Shooting the AKM can be dangerous proposition verse players as it is loud enough to bring a horde upon you and not as decisively lethal as the Enfield, the m14 or the FN fal. Lee Enfield: The bandit’s choice, this gun will either kill you outright or knock you out at ranges up to pixel shooting (say 500m). This however is also known as the dinner bell as every zombie in the radius will be descending upon you after firing. This weapon is also very easy to find as it is found in barns and residential areas making it a very common weapon. It holds 10 bullets in a clip, does an absurd amount of damage but does not fire very fast. Many bandits with this weapon choose rooftops as it makes the zombie agro less of a problem and renders them scope less snipers. M14: The M14 is a very deadly weapon, capable of fire as fast as you can click this semi-automatic battle rifle comes equipped with 20 in the magazine as well as optics for target acquisition putting it above and beyond an Enfield as it is substantially quieter and more versatile and only nominally less deadly. Rarely killing in one shot, it will however knock players out in one shot and kill in two. This gun while appearing at all military spawns it is rare and far less seen than the enfield but not as rare as the FN FAL. FN FAL: The FN FAL is only seen at helicopter crash sites or the northwest airfield and thus is a very rare gun with very rare ammo. With no optics this gun has some pros and cons in comparison to the M14, but what it lacks in optics it makes up for in having a burst fire mode. It has 20 in the magazine and has the same noise radius as the M14, making them very similar guns. It also can come with night vision optics, in my four months of playing I have never seen this gun with night vision optics in the wild and only found one on a cheater making it hard to speak much about the effectiveness of the NV. Winchester 1866: Many probably would put this gun in the shotgun section, but besides the icon for the ammo I see no reason to classify it as a shotgun as it shares just as much in common with battle rifles as it does with shotguns. The Winchester 1866 is a very common gun and the little brother of the Lee Enfield, it trades the pure power of the Lee Enfield for having a larger clip/magazine (any gun enthusiasts know which one it is?) having 15 shots available before reload. It will take 3-4 shots to kill a player but they will fall unconscious in two, making it somewhat deadly but due to its slow rate of fire it will often lose in close quarters. It has an audible range just shy of the AKM, making it loud enough to make trouble but not loud enough to get itself killed. Sniper Rifles: Sniper rifles are definitively anti-player and feature scopes to take players out from ranges safe from zombies. CZ550: The beginners’ sniper rifle this rifle features zeroing adjustment, with no variability in scope sight. The Chevron reticle is very versatile when mastered, and mastery will be required if you are going to counter snipe some of big dog sniper rifles such as the AS50 or M1017. The damage drop off over ranges of 300m seems to be severe so headshots will be required at those ranges if you are going to counter snipe, as given enough time many snipers will simply alt-f4 sadly. Found in barns, the CZ550 while more rare than it used to be is not by any means impossible to find and can start your career as a sniper quite nicely. While loud the CZ is perfectly capable of entering large areas and sniping from the ground, having the same noise signature as some of the battle rifles it can be used well in conjunction with a squad who will help clean up the mess made by shooting the gun. M24: Essentially a better version of the CZ550, this gun can also be zeroed, has a great scope and can also be used in a squad setting. It holds 5 in the clip, and has the same noise level to zombies as the battle rifles. It can only be found in military spawns however, and its rarity makes many uneasy entering a settlement with such a rare gun so many prefer the larger sniper rifles and the DMR to this. DMR: The DMR features mil dots for precise shooting, has variable zoom for super long range, has a reasonable noise level. This gun is essentially the dedicated over watch version of the M24. It has 20 bullets in the magazine, and this ability to put many shots downrange helps it compete against the larger caliber brothers such as the AS50 or M1017. AS50: This gun is ridiculous, one shot kill on any part of the body and while it will attract zombies from obscene distance is actually rather quiet to other players at least comparatively. It features mil dots, a variable zoom scope and has much less recoil than the M1017, rare to the point of impossibility you will see this gun mostly with server farming clans or the people who have killed server farmers. M1017: The biggest sniper rifle in the class, this gun will one shot kill at any part of the body it features mil dots, variable zoom and has the ability to destroy vehicles in a few shots. With the longest zoom in the game and one of the most unique sound signatures to players this gun while rare is more common than the AS50, and is a common thing to hear in PVP hot zones such as Cherno, Electro, Starry or the northwestern airfield. Shotguns: In between assault rifles and battle rifles, shotguns are negligibly louder than assault rifles and instantly deadly to players at close range. Double barrel shotgun: The newest gun added to the game, is an interesting if not underwhelming choice for players. Slugs will kill a player in two shots to the body at close to midrange, and pellets will kill a player in one depending on how much of the shot hits the player, and at what range. Surprisingly loud to players, you will generally get an extra zombie or two for taking a shot with this gun. Able to use 2 round slugs or pellets which are one of the most common things in the game, this gun is for the scavenger who doesn’t mind quickly managing his inventory. Able to convert these 2 round slugs to 8 round m1014 and back, allows a player to hold tons of ammo in exchange for inventory space. Military Shotguns: The military shotguns are very common in military spawns, and that combined with the ability to convert 2 round shells and slugs into useful military grade ammo allows a scavenger to keep the military weapon in working order via residential spawns without the added risk of banditry that military spawns produce. This however takes much inventory management and backpack space, so results may vary. The Remington features a flashlight, and very minimal iron sights in exchange for the extra rate of fire that the M1014 will bring to the table. Sub Machineguns: These weapons are essentially upgraded pistols that go in the primary slot, with all the advantages/disadvantages therein. MP5: The MP5 has great ammo versatility, being able to use most 9mm ammo included their SD variants with the exception of PDW magazines. It is accurate and quiet and has semi, burst, and full auto trigger function. The silenced version gives up ammo versatility for virtual inaudibility to both players and zombies. This gun is great for looting of dense zombie population, but while accurate enough to engage players at range, lacks the stopping power for killing. Headshots are the only hope for winning against other players as the weak bullets and massive damage drop off at range makes engagements beyond 50m a dangerous proposition. Bizon PP-19 SD: The bizon is a very useful weapon, for the short duration you can keep it in working order. By using various game mechanics such as logging out to refill ammo and never expending a clip to 0 ammo this can obviously be cheesed to effectiveness. Whisper quiet, and having a large enough magazines to spray at a player like a machine gun with a massive 64 bullets it mitigates some issues of the MP5 by sheer quantity against players while providing the same stealth qualities. This gun and its ammo can only be found on helicopter crash sites, so it is rare to see someone using it. Machineguns: These weapons bring massive firepower, with the ability to clear a whole city of zombies but are extremely loud and rare to find. M249: The M249 is the most versatile and reasonable machinegun, being an assault rifle with the ability to have 200 bullets this thing can be kept in working order by also being able to use the much more common stanag magazines. It can fill its role as city sweeper, while also being able to do the same job an assault rifle can do, with the same noise level with some awkwardness due to the recoil and iron sights. It however takes 2 body shots to kill a zombie, making its street clearing status much less efficient than its 7.62 caliber brothers. It is also the hardest to find of the light machine guns. M240: This 7.62 machine gun is essentially a fully automatic battle rifle and can clear an entire city with its 100 round magazine and if you shoot it you will need to clear the city because zombies love hearing the noise of the satisfying (buhdadadada) and will come to you in force. This is the least rare of the machine guns and makes a very distinct sound to those that live long enough to hear it. MK 48: This is essentially a M240 with optics, its power and optics combine to make for the best street clearer in the game and while nearly completely without much practicality is it probably one of the most fun weapons to use in the game for as long as you live while using it. This gun is exceptionally rare and sought after and like the M240, shooting this gun will agro anything in the zone whether it be zombies from its noise, or players looking to steal your fun distraction. IDEAS FOR A BETTER DAYZ!!!

In reply to the reply of PixerPopper 1.difference in opinion There are more griefers in this game than there are actual survivers. I think body armor would become something that griefers would go get so they can run around cherno, get shot, turn around and kill the players. Also a lot of the rounds used in this game would go right through any armor made by a surviver. 2. I use vent, skype with my friends and would still like to see more diversity in player appearance. It's one of the things with games that people find the most overpower and stick with it. Maybe more skins you can pick up would be cool but not ones you spawn in. They first need to fix that others see the same surviver outfit that you do. At the moment it's random what clothes you see on a surviver (it can be different from what they are actually wearing). 4. yes they would show up as a different shade of dirt. If they were like a mound or something that could be useful but just a slightly different shade would still be hard to find if the player didn't put it in a stupid place. May as well just use a tent instead. 5. If you change the mechanic of the zombies that they move slower but in larger packs, and they cant be killed unless with a head shot then it would be very useful if you blow a leg off. if they don't have arms they cant hit you. Oh I see, you can shoot out the legs of an infected so they go prone already. I would start making a team of armless infected to follow me around if I could make them not be able to hit me. They aren't changing anything to make it so infected only die from headshots. 7. Its not about panic. Because i'm really patient even when they are right in front of me. if you watch the zombie animation when they are right next to you and aim for the chest (with an axe especially) they seem to have a slideshow effect about them dancing around where you would like to actually hit. I assume once they tidy up the animations once they get the new pathfinding sorted it will be improved. 8. if you notice when your throwing something you cant stop in between that action. you have to wait for the animation to go all the way through before you can complete another action. I guess it just means timing you actions more, also if you're doing an action you can scroll to cancel it. 9. thanks grammar police. throwing takes practice but its never quick or precise and it should be. Spelling police* Also grenades are fucking strong, you only need to get it near a player to destroy them or to knock them out. Percision isn't that important. 10.I'm only thinking about every zombie movie i have ever watched. The undead never have had amazing vision. Unless you count the infection of i am legend, but those are a completely different monster. besides it was just and idea. and i changed the idea when i thought about it for a minute. Again, the infected in DayZ are infected, not zombies. Rocket is clear on that one. 13.yes you can only get in if you break the boards.. but you would see small community's forming in the middle of city's taking over and fortifying them. What about the fresh spawners who don't have any items to get into these houses? 14.it was just a suggestion. My brother and i had to walk 2 hours south to help a new player and by that time he had to leave. i'm people are split on this and how to effectively implement it so its not overpowered or unrealistic. might be a bad suggestion. I don't think it takes anywhere near 2 hours to walk from one of the map to another unless you get lost. Spawning on players would ruin the fair of losing your items. (Eg you have no food, just die and respawn back at your body with your friend next to it instead of panicing to get food) 15. I have found vehicles and know where to look. But it is a suggestion, why not add more? Limited use would work too if they were plentiful enough. I do find it weird that with the amound of roads in the game that there are only like 30 cars. And there are way more broken cars than working ones. If we find a car owned by someone else and it can't fix my whole squad or isn't one of the best cars, we blow it up so a fresh spawn can be found by other players. 16. Your opinion Shared with a lot of other people here from the sounds of it. 17. That's not a trap that's an ambush. Traps are really for when you aren't around and want to defend an important location I.E. a tent or a vehicle. Bear traps are a good start. Shovels to dig holes and place sharp sticks into. Claymore mines with trip wires. maybe even go as far as finding left over ordnance you can combine with blasting wire and a watch to create and ied. TRAPS! Think of it as some crafting and this kinda stuff would happen IRL. Seems like it's being implemented anyway with bear traps being bought in. Having too many in the game would be more bad than good. They should be rare so you don't have to carry 20 morphine when trying to raid any city on the map.

    Hacker Norway 4

Hello! I have read everywhere that the UH1 helicopter is not in the game anymore. Earlier today i found a camp with tons of vehicles in the debug area. I brought them all to our base. Now that we came back to our base after farming repair supplies for our vehicles it suddenly turned into daylight (My NVG's got waay to bright in a second). Seconds later a UH1 helicopter came above us, starting to shoot at our vehicles and us when we returned fire. I do not know if hackers can make it day when its originally night. But i do know that hackers can spawn vehicles, and the UH1 isnt in the game anymore as i have read. If this where admin abuse or plain hackers i do not know, but i know this: It wasnt a legit raid. Time: 22:20-22:25 GMT+1 Norwegian time EDIT: By the way! 10-15minutes before the helicopter raid, three of my clan mates got kicked by battleeye out of nowhere, when they tried to join the server was full. Normal nighttime of Norway 4 About ~19:30-03:30~ Timeline of events: -3 members or more disconnecting (Making room for friends/clanmembers?) -Nighttime to daytime in a split second (To make it easier to find our base and their stolen vehicles?) -Camp raid Confirmation of the helicopter removal: http://dayzmod.com/f...dar#entry349425 Mod/dev saying that the heli is out of the game due to their radar. Edit2: Just logged in, all the tents are flat, all our vehicles are gone except for our UAZ wich is blown to pieces. Edit3: After a massive search around our base, it appears we got one of them when returning fire at the chopper. Need Help or an explanation!

Ghillie suit is fixed as of 1.7.2.3 lost mine with the 1.7.2 update, .2.3 came out and put mine back on and all is well. It will show you have killed no zombies etc. after you put it on but just disconnect and reconnect and your stats should reappear, so feel free to wear one, just DO NOT go back and play on a 1.7.2 or .2.1 (not sure about the .2.1 version) server and you'll be good. But yeah I've had a UAZ get eat by the server I normally play on while my ATV was fine. It's just a current bug in the server side of the code and not much we can do about it until rocket nails down a fix sadly :(. So yeah 3 things not to get attached to in DayZ: Tents, Gear and Vehicles lol cause at some point either someone steals them, raids them or bug eats them.
  11. I still have only killed one player, but more than a few times I've 'stolen' stuff from camps and vehicles. I'm slowly learning more and how to get around, and another few incursions and I don't think I can call myself a newbie anymore. But as for the title.. On the server I play on, someone has set up a half dozen tents within easy running distance of the airfield near the coast. Not easy to see unless you're on top of it, but there non the less. I've been quietly raiding it anytime I need supplies, as the guy seems to be farming the entire area for gear. Keeps me stocked up on ammo and occasional food needs when I hit it up. :) I'm certain I could have killed the guy several times by now, as his patterns are pretty predictable, but I don't think I can go down that path. Just today, I was running along the western edge of the map when a van starts driving through the woods. Now, I was trailing two zeds from a nearby farm because I didn't feel like advertising my presence with gunshots, planning on losing them in the woods. I'm sure I ran right in front of the van not less than a 100 meters away, not to mention the two zeds, and keep on running until I lose them. I immediately take cover...and the guy in the van left it in the woods to go loot the farms I'd just left! I crept up carefully, wary of a trap but he apparently was running on his own. So I hop into the van, and take off for the deep woods in a bid to get away. And I made it! I drove several klics until I found a nice secluded place to park, got into the back seat to check the inventory and the van was loaded. Several military rifles of varying types, ammo for them and several other bits and bobs. Jackpot! So, while I had the chance to snipe that poor fool as well, I left him alone and just took his vehicle. So I'm a thief, not a bandit!
  12. Hy, My clan had in the Past quite some own servers dedicates, leased etc.. but we never had an ArmA 2 Server so there are some things that are new to us, I would ask for some advice before I contact my server provider and give him hell. I´m also aware that some of this issues might be fixed with the next beta patch. But anyway I would like to have you opinions before I contact my Provider. 1. Strange / odd behaviour with hatches. On every respawn on our server ALL Players loose their hatches. It doesn’t matter if they got them on the belt or if they got them in the backpack. They just disappear as soon as you join the server. If you find a hatchet you can clone them on our server, you just have to pick it up then you got one in your inventory but another one is still on the floor.2 .Crowbar is very odd, probably hacked. You pickit up then it appears in your weapon slot and you cant drop it anymore. Even if you got still you main weapon in sight. – This is a bug someone reported earlier on the 1.7.2.3 thread. But on our server there is a special gimmick. If you press quite some times “F” you have the crowbar in you hand and on the top left appears “CROWBAR HACK”. 3.Strange respawning of things and loots without server restarting. Well this one is awesome if you want to exploit the game! We didn’t find out what causes this yet. But we saw this at least 3 times today, and yesterday 2. Probably it happens more were not all time connected. Well loots just simply disappear in front of your eyes and seconds later new loot appears. Happens all over the server in different cities at the same time. We had a player on NW Airport, Stary Sabor and Zelenogorsk, reporting this at the same time. Vehicles and Tents disappear at the same time! When we do a server restart, obviously new loot spawns but the Tents and Vehicles are back, empty. Vehicles might be not respawning, not sure about them. 4.You approach animals and they disappear. That’s a funny one. We call it the Fata Morgana. http://en.wikipedia....organa_(mirage) You approach an animal to kill it and it randomly disappears. Especially funny if your hungry, and need to eat. 5.Unlimited smoke grenades. This one is also quite fun. You can throw smokes till you cover the whole town with them. Zombies love them, but they do only react to the first. We do not know how exactly the player enters this state, we thing that it got something to do if you respawn on our server and find a smoke as your first loot object. If you join another server you lose your smoke normaly. 6. Heavy desync / lag / warp issues. Well I know that the current beta patch has problems. But we did not experience the effects that dramaticly on other servers. Desync Two players spot the same zombie but the zombie is for each of the player on different positions up to 50 m! Player shoots, the other hear his shoots like 15 seconds later. Lag Every time a new player joins server pings shoot up to 700 for all players, lots of desync for everybody. Randomly it also happens. Warp. Well zombies just warp and don’t seem to take damage for up to a minute, then suddenly they die, we get used to it. But other players are running on the field static, then suddenly teleport to the other edge of a town, even if for you and for him zombies seem to behave normal. What we think about all this issues, and what might be causing it. 1. I think our provider is using some tool to prevent hacker scripts, this is preventing hatches from normal behaviour. 2. I saw the bug report, but that CROWBAR Hack just let me roll my eyes. I will take a screen as soon I find a crowbar. 3. I read on the BIS, DayZ and Armaholic forums that this usually happens if someone “resets the mission”, I do understand that you have to do this manually, and the people get to the lobby when this happens. However, we experience this without being disconnected. No admin connected when this happened. 4 I’m not sure if this is lag, scriptblocking or WTF. It just dammed annoying. 5. Think here is our script blocking script from our provider doing his funny work, there is no other explanation for me. 6.I know that the “current” 94876 patch is giving problems for quite some people. But this is unplayable at some times. We had to restart the server quite some times and deactivate the BE maxping feature because it was kicking low ping users during the spikes. As I know that almost all provider setup virtual boxes for the server, Im very sure this one is over its capacity at least at network traffic. I will wait for the new patch to complain about this, at my provider. Perhaps its realated to all the problems above, but we experienced this (Hatchet, Crowbar, Smokes) even with only a few player where on. I will ask for lowering the slots on our server as 40 is unplayable for everyone on the server.

    Increasing challenge over time

Let me start off my saying that I haven't actually played the game yet, but I have been following it's progress for a few months so I can definitely see where you are coming from when you say that there is a limit to when the game stops becoming fun for experienced players. I'm sure this has already been suggested before but it would be cool if there were achievements, (e.g. kill 200+ zombies in one life, repair 5 vehicles etc) to give players something to work towards. I think the appeal of the game is the fact that players can do whatever they want with it but it would be nice to have the option of completing challenges.
  14. When 15% of Admins use their power to do that, and the other 85% use it to kick anyone who isn't in their clan, or who tries to steal their vehicles, or raid their camp, or just happens to kill someone they like, then, yes, cumulatively that's bad for the player base as a whole. Maybe it's not quite as severe. But even if only 25% of Admins (I feel that's low) are using their powers unscrupulously that still has a massive impact on the game. Not to sound dramatic, but apart from hackers, rogue Admins are the greatest threat to DayZ at the moment. A few are dedicated, motivated and professional individuals out to contribute to the advancement of the mod but many, many are a consortium of children who pool 5-10 bucks apiece every month for the privilege of taking advantage of the power that gives them over other people. I've said already I appreciate your dedication to hack prevention, but that in the grand scheme of things you're basically spitting on a bonfire. By the time you know someone is a hacker, the damage is done and by the time you ban them they're off on another server anyway and by the time BattleEye gets around to banning them the next 5-10 people are lining up to take their place. Hacking is a problem that is going to have to be dealt with wholesale, most likely when DayZ makes the jump to a new engine and branches off into it's own stand-alone product in which case they will have access to all client and server code, not just the mod, and be able to deal with the issue in a broader, more comprehensive way. It's not going to be stopped by some grassroots effort to IP ban then 1-by-1. It is a dynamic demographic, made up of people who have either quit playing DayZ or quit playing ARMA and don't care about their CDKEY anymore, or those who are capable of finding other ways to acquire CDKEYs. The very small percentage of Admins who have the time and dedication to do what you do, while noble and laudable, are not going to make a difference across thousands of servers and 700k players. Oh, god. Because if DayZ turns into an abysmal failure they won't turn around and fire him. How do you think the world works? Like, okay, he's hired now he's set for life? They hired him to do a fucking job. That job is DayZ.
  15. US331 suffers from random server restarts and difficulty changes. Not only that, but me and my friends have also come across a camp that had 20+ ak's, 20+ m16's, 20+ mags for each, plus mass amounts of food and other supplies which we think were duplicated. After destroying the camp, the map was marked with random insults and a mark was placed directly on our camp which said "Home Base". Nothing at our camp had been touched or stolen, and we were very far off grid so I do not believe anyone would just find it and mark it without looting the valuables from it and vehicles.
  16. Any loot dropped disappears soon after you leave the area. Tents/vehicles need to be saved to be able to survive a server restart.
  17. Thanks Zero - I usually run fraps and record all engagements, but just reinstalled windows and hadn't gotten around to it yet. I know these are issues that you can find anywhere, but it sounds like whoever this group is they have set up shop with vehicles. I do not know what a "pathfinder" is but I just refuse to believe that someone would be able to see me from my position. The way the terrain elevation was, I was on a flat area above the road and could not see the road or any vehicles till they had passed. For someone to spot me they would have had to be looking directly on their 9 o'clock at the right moment where the terrain dropped away from my position and gave me a angle at the road. Mind you i was at least 100m away as well. The bike or atv did not stop past the small vantage point or go around. I just find it incredibly unlikely that this person just happened to be glancing my way and could pick my body out from a stand of trees while driving and looking directly left. A more likely scenario is that with a tag over my head, the person drove to the best position for a clear shot. Anyway, good to know you guys are aware. I wish general chat was enabled as at least then people could warn others about possible hack issues.
  18. one of us has a reading problem cause on my screen it says i'm in the bandit campfire forums, not survivor HQ. And thanks for the tips! I dont bother with high end gear either. I put all my good gear in a tent I have about 1KM away from each city. I just carry AKM, Revolver, morphine, cooked food, painkiller, smoke grenades. I'll pick up wiring and sandbags too when I find them and put them random key locations. I used to be hardcore anti-pvp in this game, but after a while, there's just nothing else to do. I prefer to spend time fixing up vehicles, but they are so damn buggy. They either randomly blow up or disappear from server bugs. I just got sick of spending hours fixing up vehicles only to lose them. Only vehicle I'll use now is bicycle heh. Which is actually perfect for pvp :)
  19. Just keep trying untill you run out of fuel, it is possible. If you want me to help right it then send me a message/email of where it is. As for the vehicle spawns im pretty sure there are many spawn locations but only so many vehicles can be on the server. The vast majority of the servers vehicles have been taken and hidden somewhere by players, or have been destroyed/despawned and are on a random timer to respawn. This is why the vehicle despawning is such a big problem, our groups effectively destroyed over 10 vehicles and it takes a long time to spawn back in. If you find any vehicle then finding more vehicles becomes alot easier, but right now alot of vehicles are just destroyed. I checked around 20 vehicle locations the other day on a newly spawned bicycle but I didn't find any.

    Good Servers for Vehicles?

Most people have taken them already. On my server people who were hoppers took some cars and drove them god knows where. They have never been back. Another higher skilled group left our server and they had 4-5 cars/vehicles. They also left so god knows where they are.
  21. TLDR, everytime these ppl stream they have some sort of aid from hackers or exploiting server admins from spawning vehicles equipped and geared right near them and say "wheres the truck? drive the truck here and there" ive seen it before in servers, trucks and cars wayy out of bounds as far as the map can go stored there with full layouts of gear and they exploit them in to teleport them to a location they need them or else rather would that be the debug forest for saved vehicles? but nevertheless these popular streamers wouldint be "popular" had they not have any gear at any given time. so they definitely do have help or aid from something unatrual plain and simple. EVERYTIME they lost a l82aws they got a truck coming with 5 l82lws's and the truck is always round about and near to gear. switching server screens when they are blatantly playing and staring hard into the game. its not a matter fact "if" its a mtter fact "when" they do it. they need viewers and do you think the limitation to not exploiting matters to them in this angle? no. they want the viewers and they need the suspense to keep up with the pace to raise money. if they played legit they wouldint raise any money cause everyone thats playing in their server would put them up to a heavy and decent battle that gear would be lost at a WAY higher rate. i just dont second guess any of what i said one bit. its obvious they know hot to block streams with ss's and put it this way hate to break it to you but if you were in their shoes and wer able to get help from glitching admins or scripting hackers without ACTUALLY doing it yourself wouldint you accept that to gain money and raise it or make more $$$ ? after all YOU arent the one hacking... so why not? right? legitimate statement no joke. whole thread is a TLDR joke its all in the question as WHAT IF IT WERE YOU? indeed.

    Good Servers for Vehicles?

It's known that some admins farm the vehicles for themselves only. So keep alway from these servers if you want the chance to drive a vehicle.
  23. Vehicles can be found in any server just keep your eyes open.
  24. If you report it to me, the Wolves can go in there with a team and see if they're cheating. Also you guys have to understand that there are pathfinders out there, and if he has one, all it takes is one shot one kill. Specially if you lower the graphic settings you can see through forest easy. Most people play this game on low settings not because of FPS, but because it takes away all the brush, and extra flora that isn't server side, like a tree would be. Its no one in Wolves of War though. We don't hang at the NE airfield. We find it boring up there (closes we'll go is berezino). You can find me specifically on the coast line. I usually hang down there waiting for idiots to come server hopping looking for kills, soon as they fire, I respond :D We specially been having problems with assholes spawning in at the NW airfield taking a shot and disconnecting as soon as they get one kill. Because they know they're f'd when they see two vehicles filled with people, lol. Even hacking thats near impossible to take out 10-14 people that are skilled & instant communicating. Unless they have some BS. But by then they're being reported to the devs with video proof. So we welcome idiots like that, as they have to pay for a new game :D I'd also like to state, that you will find this on ALL servers. You can't just specifically point to one server and say "this is the server that is having the issue." Because thats not true. ALL servers are having issues with hackers, and disconnecting. Our server however has a lot of people that record their gameplay, including friends of the server/clan. So they're going to eventually get caught, so please, keep coming to US 104. We couldn't CARE LESS about losing our gear (the game is more fun with starter gear), catching you would make as all wet inside.

    Elysium | Department of Defense

Who are these trolls? I've been in Elysium for a while and none of us have had any issues with anyone in the clan or outside of the clan. We all enjoy playing together. Sure, we have a few really bad vehicle drivers who love crashing vehicles (and have had their "license" revoked) but outside of that... let's see.. yeap, no issues. Seriously, go troll elsewhere. And if you want to write a novel, do it where someone cares. I'm not reading a wall of text. I'm on more than anyone in this clan. I play far too much. If anything goes down, I'm the one that knows about it. And nothing has gone down. Nor do I know who these complainers are. Meaning any problems they speak of never existed/happened.
