HFB Camo / Ghillie suit problem fixed
[email protected] replied to phisher34's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I had this done a few days ago, and I can confirm all the tents and vehicles and what not remained. Your instance ID will be the same, the only thing that changed for me was the direct IP address of my server. It certainly fixed the issues I was having, and I was only able to test ghillie/camo because I had some stored at my group's camp. -
Also, I would like to add an idea for update(if you do read this rocket), maybe lootable military bodies and destroyed vehicles since there are so many?
-
Im interested in being in your group I've got about 100 hours or so been in two groups so far. They fell apart after our camps were raided losing all the vehicles so I'm game. I'm good with almost every gun, practiced with all snipers and i just need some more players to group up with. Skype: alkwardzzseaturtlzz Steam: alkwardzzseaturtlzz

Adding wound and stamina system from ACE.
jackwhitter replied to Hollowpoint9mm's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The volume amount would be much better/more realistic! why does a compass or pistol mag take up the same amount of space as a rifle mag? i should be able to put 2 - 3 pistol mags in the space of a rifle mag. also, the weight would make vehicles far more interesting as they could hold gear that you can't necessarily carry and a larger pack does not give you as much of an advantage. would make carrying a car wheel and engine on your person less desirable. -
The plane ride felt longer than ever, but a couple of sleeping pills and a shot of whiskey helped pass the time. Before long, the flight attendants were asking everyone to stow their trays and prepare for landing. The city looked different than last time Theresa had come here. From her birds eye view, she could tell there was unrest, it was obvious with the riot police vans stationed just outside the airports terminal. It became even more clear when they began filtering out of the plane, to be greeted by armed guards. “Move along.” They said, in thick accents. Theresa was being herded down a hallway, to the connections terminal. She saw a flight listing that showed all Japanese destinations. She tried to look for Richard while the crowd got tight and shoved her onward any time she tried to fight the current of bodies. Soon, she would pass through the threshold of the next terminal, at which point she knew she wouldn't be able to get back out. Everyone was being sent back. “I'm with the press.” She said, raising her clearance card, signed by the TNC and a U.N. Delegate. “I'm authorized to be here.” All she herd in response where sharp words in Russian or “Move along” in that same thick accent that told her they were just reciting the line without. Theresa was getting fed up. She shuffled toward a barricade and rolled beneath it. When she got back up, she was face to face with a security officer who promptly clutched her arm and dragged her into a nearby room. “Get your hands off me! I'm authorized by the U.N. To be here.” She yelled angrily, not noticing in her disorientation that Richard was across the room, sitting in a chair. “Welcome to Vladivostok!” He said, opening his arms in greeting. “Do you like what they've done with the place?” “Oh God, Richard. Where were you?” “I had men looking for you, it's not easy these days. Bribes are getting expensive.” He said, walking over to the security guard and handing him an envelope. “Still, money is what gets the job done, right?” “True enough.” “So where's your magic credit card?” “You'll get payed once we get where we're going Richard, not a second before” “Fine, fine, I can agree to that. Come on, we're not going anywhere today.” Richard left the room from a separate door at the back. Theresa was alone for a short moment with the guard, only seconds later realizing that Richard had queued her to follow. “Hey wait, where are you going?” She hurried through the door to find herself in an empty service hallway. “Richard!” “Let's get something to eat, I'm sure you're starved.” Theresa shook her head, running to catch up to him as they left the the terminal through a fire exit. She looked around in the evening light to see the amber and bright blue flashes of emergency response vehicles painting the tall buildings. The sounds of sirens whistled through the air. “What's going on?” She asked. I Chernarus was locked down, but why is there so much unrest in Vladivostok?” “They're all here for the same reason you are Theresa. They all want the truth. No one is allowed within kilometers of the Chernarus lines, and there are a lot of people who live and work in those areas. Vladivostok is the closest place to come and complain. They themselves don't truly care about what happened in Chernarus, but they want to know why they've been relocated away from their homes. Not to mention the political backlash of locking down a country, a post-soviet republic to boot. People are thinking it's an annex. The rest of the world is paranoid about war, or an expansionary Russian military campaign. There's tension in the air Theresa, ripe with the smell of cash if you ask me.” “You're a sick person Richard.” Richard smiled, “Just get in the car.” As they drove through the streets of Vladivostok, the level of unrest became fully apparent to Theresa. Something else was at work here, it wasn't just the displacement of people living on the borders of Chernarus. It wasn't just a worried population, concerned about war. Either Richard wasn't telling her everything, or he simply didn't know. At this point, Theresa thought it would be fruitless to press him for information. Soon, they would be in Chernarus and they will have found out the truth for themselves. Richard turned into an underground parking garage. “Here we are.” He said, removing the keys from the ignition and exiting the vehicle. Theresa followed suit and caught up to him as he made his way to an elevator. “So what's the plan, are we leaving first thing tomorrow morning?” “That's sort of the plan.” Richard said unenthusiastically. “So you have a means of transportation already figured out?” “Yes, by plane. We can't travel during the day though, it'll be too conspicuous. The pilot I hired is a friend of a friend. He comes at high recommendation for this kind of thing. He tells me there's a valley we can fly through in Takistan that will bring us to the coast near Chernarus without exposing ourselves as we would if we were to just follow the coast from here.. Once we're over the green sea we can make a water landing and get to shore.” “A water landing?” “Yes, he pilots a Be-103, a small passenger amphibious aircraft. You'll love the ride I'm sure.” “I'm sure.” Theresa said, already cringing at the thought. Richard opened the door to his apartment and threw his coat and keys on a nearby sofa. “Make yourself at home.” “Can I use your phone?” Theresa asked. “I just said make yourself at home didn't I?” Theresa sighed in annoyance and went in search of the phone. She picked it up and dialed Davids number from memory. It began to ring. There was no answer. “Damn it old man.” Frustrated, she hung up. Richard was in a hall. “You'll sleep in here.” He said, pointing into a room. “See you tomorrow morning.” She thought of trying to call one more time, but decided against it and walked to the room instead. Sleep came slowly.

Hey guys, I'm in need of help. Apparently today my favorite server, US 44 has been commandeered by hackers. A couple of friends and I were playing on the server and in Stary when we engaged the DUDE clan. My friend and I killed nearly all the members of the clan when we engaged the last one. He was using some sort of hack that prevented him from dying. After my friend and I unloaded a full clip on him he survived and killed both of us. After we respawned we were teleported to some sort of despawn forest. Several players had spawned vehicles and killed my friend and I practically instantaneously. We lost extremely high value gear in the venture, including an L85 AWS... I just wanted to report and receive input. Watch out for the DUDE clan.

US1169 ADMIN ABUSE RESETTING SERVER
Ragotag replied to toxin232323's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
It wasn't Ghosthawx, he is not an admin, and US1169 has been unstable as hell for the last 24-hours with frequent server resets, disappearing vehicles and tents, huge amounts of lag, and possible hackers executing murder scripts on random players. Heck, I logged off just before noon today -- alive and well, and logged back on around 12:30PM only to be instantly teleported over to debug forest and then back to my original location, followed by seeing my death notification in the bottom left corner of the screen while still in game and walking/running around with a broken leg and a wiped inventory -- go figure. Simple fact is, this server is a disaster and highly unstable and what you experienced is just a coincidence of such. -
I don't want to get banned for this!
[email protected] replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Forgive my hostility, I was just a little peeved that someone had the courage to accusing my team of "hoarding" the vehicles, yet use each vehicle every day for various reasons. Well, except the bus. But who needs a bus. I removed swear words (in quote above). Sound less hostile to you? -
Most hackers also spawn crates of hacked weapons and hacked vehicles as well, its pretty standard procedure to restart/shut down the server as soon as you get evidence of a hacker so you can wipe the spawned in items out before someone finds them and abuses them. If you don't like the fact that guy is trying to help the community by nailing a hacker then don't play on his server, or on my server for the matter, as I'd do the same thing.

Hello everyone, me and my friends all play on US84, and last night some hackers joined the server and caused some mayhem. Around this time, me and my friends were kicked from the server (due to the whole ARMA 2 OA patch downloading on steam.) Anyway, we tried to get back on awhile later but the server was down for some hours. Just afew minutes ago I finally logged on at our "base of operations" and our tents (which I placed) are missing, aswell as our cars and bicycles. Is this normal to happen, or did the hackers have something to do with it? I tried to do a search but couldn't really come up with anything solid. Thanks.

My current gear is not very bragworthy, but I currently have an AS50, M1911, AKS-74 Kobra, ghillie suit, ALICE pack, rangefinder, GPS and all of the basic tools to answer the thread. We used to have alot of equipment in our group, but we lost most of it because of the server we had it stored on going to shit (all in all 34 primaries stored in 3 vehicles, of which 30 of the weapons were from helicopter crash sites and the barracks).

Ryan yes if the admin was in game he may of been teleported also but he still can not do anything but abort from the game, if that was successful and he never got killed he would then have a few choices none of which are instant. He could restart the server which the hacker/s could then just rejoin and continue doing what he/she was doing. They could then go through server logs to look for any evidence as to who the hacker was, even after doing this they probably would not find anything to be able to tell who it was. Dayz server logs are very big, for example if you sit and watch the server console in a server that has 20 plus players on it, its almost unreadable it goes by so quick. Admins really can not do anything right now. My example was, hackers joined my server, they teleported all vehicles to one location off the map and killed any player unlucky enough to be in any of those vehicles. 1. When this happened none of our group was in a vehcle 2. We never knew at the exact time that hackers were to blame 3. We did notice one of our vehicles was missing and another we were fixing had dissapeared 4. The way dayz is right now with vehciles and tents dissapearing we could not say 100 percent it must have been hackers or that maybe someone else had drove off in the vehicles 5. The only way we confirmed it was hackers is that another player on our server reported what happened on our own forums 6. After going through all the logs we were unable to find any evidence to who the hackers were. Even if the admin was also teleported, if it is a server with no name tags, they still could not actually do anything ie ban a player Server admins can only actually ban people for 2 reasons 1. Racism and 2. Malicious talk Banning hackers is a whole different story, if the server say had name tags and the admin or another player had recorded what happened and managed to capture the hacker then I guess the admin could ban and post the evidence in the cheat reporting topic If admins just start banning players with no evidence they could risk having the server blacklisted, thats the way I see it If the server has no crosshairs/name tags then the only real way to get evidence is through server logs but as I said right now its unlikley to find any incriminating evidence there.

3rd suggestion is to add a lootable notepad, with say 5 sheets on which u can write whatever you want, and then have an option to leave a note to any gear pile, as well as tents/vehicles. when someone comes across it theyll bne able to pick it up and read what's on there
-
He was definitely still at it for over an hour. Once it got dark, though, he seemed to have calmed down up until the point where he spawned so many vehicles, about everyone on the server had one, and he was just hunting down the headlights. I ran him down multiple times, usually resulting in a reply like, "Your dead when i respawn pussy". At one point, Glycerine and I just drove through the streets picking up survivors only for him to teleport in-front of us and spray the windshield down.

Hey, I cn understand your point about haxers. How ever, The haxers I have seen tend to spawn in a weapon and ammo and thats about it. We aree a group of over 10 clan members, we have a huge arsenal of gear over 3 or 4 servers. As50's are everywhere and when you have the number of vehicles we do it's not hard to find them on heli crash sights. We just left another server due to a number of haxers tping every 1 and slaying them. Was told your server was ok so it's a shame this has happened. 1 way to solve this would be to drop the vehicle (both) some where with their gear in and let them know where it is to collect without shooting them. We really enjoy this game and appreciate server hosts, so we wouldn't want to fall out. As for guilli suits, easily found in tents. ;)

List 3 things you would change about this game
Hashisx replied to -NGR- Larkinto's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Zombies - More zombies, i never see the "hordes" anymore. Make them more smart. Map - 3x Larger with more buildings to enter, more loot spawns however low grade loot. Vehicles - More atvs, motorbikes. -
This is a suggestion to add a multi-use storage/utility item: An Empty Barrel. They would need to be heavy and take up multiple slots in inv, if not your backpack or primary slot. Uses: General Storage: Acts like a Tent, with fewer spaces for some items and more for others. Fill it with Wood: longer lasting fireplace that doesn't give off as much light. Same amount of smoke. Would be safer to use in permanent campsites. Fill it with Water: Acts like a temporary well. If coding allows, Rain will fill it (slowly) Fill it with Fuel: Holds more fuel than a Jerry Can and can be used to refill them. Perhaps combine with Fuel tank parts to increase fuel tank size on vehicles at cost of storage. Tends to explode when shot. Fill it with sand and use it to block doorways or make roadblocks. Filled barrels would need to be emptied or perhaps require a vehicle to move. I think I've seen it mentioned elsewhere on occasion, but a search brought up no dedicated thread.

First off, This is a FPS/RPG... So obviously there needs to be more RPG elements, Such as - A skill system! Construction, Repair, Maintenance, Medic, Gunnery?, Endurance, Etc... So forth, What ever your mind can think off. Will take these few skills I've mentioned and try to break them down 1 by 1. Construction: Rocket has mentioned adding construction to the game (http://www. youtube.com /watch?v=5CNh-Mp_KhQ) So yes gathering would make construction difficult. But, Making it even more of a prestiges thing is a requirement in my opinion. Such as getting a vehicle setup in the way the game is now, Yes it's rewarding, But it can be done in under 30 minutes (The whole process, i.e from spawning to completion). So how would it work, Obviously constructing something will lean your knowledge towards knowing more about obviously Constructing. Simple. Repair: Fixing constructions, Fixing vehicles, etc... Maintenance: This would require another feature, Gun decay, Breaking gun parts. Maintenance would obviously make it require less time/parts to fix a gun. Medic: Obvious. Gunnery: Not a fan of this one, But it's a suggestion, Shooting a gun, Increase accuracy and reduces sway. Endurance: Increase in amount of time you can run before becoming winded. Increase the time between having to eat/drink. Aswell as maximum blood. Not sure how to approach eating/drink time delay, Or increased blood. But increasing time before becoming winded, Obviously more running. But these skills should have a all around maximum cap, Without really being able to tell, But having to personally know where your skills lye. By all around cap, I mean all skills should have a maximum with each affecting each other. Say: (1500 Skill Cap) Construction: 340 Repair: 135 Maintenance: 260 Medic: 100 Gunnery: 450 Endurance: 215 Optaining skills would also require you to obviously perform the activity. Say you increased Construction it would lower another skill, Because the cap of all skills together is 1500. Not sure how this would work, But I'm getting bored of the idea now, Because I'm not sure how it would work. Haha, Any suggestions? Any flame? Shoot... But this would give a player, More attachment to the character they have, Because obviously you would lose these skills on death. As well as it giving more purpose to a persons life, Because having a medic, That doesn't have to use 3 morphine and 5 bandages to fix you up. Would be worthwhile.

I don't feel like I answered these on a bias premise. Most people need to understand that when you play a sand box game that players control how the game is played. Not devs. Alt-f4 - Yes we all know this is pretty lame. Rocket knows. They are doing their best to try and fix this. Remember this is a mod and they don't control the arma engine. Zombies - Unless you don't watch any of the interviews Rocket has stated he wants them to be able to run, swim, climb. These "zombies" , he says infected, aren't the movie brain dead zeds we've seen many times. The zombies do seem dumbed down. If anything they need to more intelligent. Bandits - Bandits is a huge part of the game. PvP tends to be one of the major activities in sandbox games. Punishing someone for killing is out of the question. That will never happen. AS50/M107/L85 - These guns should never be removed from the game. The .50 cals are the best for disabling vehicles, especially helicopters when they get put back in, so I don't see a reason to remove these. The L85 in itself is a terrible gun to shoot people with and is only good for spotting. Most people who have used this gun will know what I am talking about. Hackers - There is not much Rocket can do with this other than ban GUIDs from the hive. However you need some pretty hard proof. To implement a better AC would almost be impossible. Arma2 is pretty old so just deal with it until the stand alone. I have been in many servers that has yet to see a hacker. Yes I have dealt with hackers. Admin Abuse - Don't come on here and cry admin abuse without proof first. I don't know how many threads I have gone through where its people just going back and forth with no hard evidence. Also admins need to post logs. There is nothing special in these logs other then cold hard facts. Loot Cycling - It's not clear if this is a exploit or not. It's well within the game mechanics. I wouldn't even consider this a problem. Kill on Sight - This is just depending on the person. Life or Death situations tend to have rash decisions. Avoid high populated areas if it's that big of a problem for you.

HFB Camo / Ghillie suit problem fixed
NocturnalS1n replied to phisher34's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
So is it guaranteed that tents, vehicles, etc. will stay after a reinstall? That is my only qualm about taking such a measure if there is a risk for losing stuff. I mean everything stayed for your server, and if that is the case with any reinstall, it'd be great to know. -
Music you listen to while playing DayZ
DrHellNo replied to nightmareus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, as much as I love listening to music while playing games (and in general for that matter) listening to music while playing DayZ will ultimately just get you killed because sound is far too important in a game like this. Hearing gunshots, vehicles, or other players movements is going to save your life. Not hearing them will cost it, simple as that. -
Hello everyone, before I start with my suggestions for Dayz, I have played Arma 2 since its launch, and I have some ideas to suggest, can be good or not they are maybe some can be used to enhance this incredible mod. starting with the clothes .. there are so many options in the game, but at least for now dayz we have only two options available. I think it would be interesting to add as much as possible .. some suggestions below these sample photos. http://ttp2.dslyecxi...f_civilians.jpg http://ttp2.dslyecxi...ff_inf_napa.jpg http://ttp2.dslyecxi...f_inf_chdkz.jpg http://ttp2.dslyecxi...ff_inf_usmc.jpg the places where they will spawn, would be equivalent to military clothing / places military civilian clothes / residential places or anything like that. in respect of vehicles are also many options in the game but could have at least one spawning each civilian vehicles in the game. some suggestions: why not put this type of vehicle at airports : http://community.bis...a2_tractor2.jpg or police cars in the cities? http://www.arma2.com...lian_LadaLM.jpg Several vehicles which could be added: http://community.bis...rma2_pickup.jpg http://community.bis...c/c1/Zodiac.jpg http://community.bis...a2_oa_btr40.jpg http://arma2.pl/img/...ian_MMT_Civ.jpg http://www.armedassa...s_civilian7.jpg This ambulance would be incredible in hospitals: http://community.bis...s1203_ambul.jpg aircraft at airports difficult to get and who will have to take a few landing options http://www.arma2.com...ed_wing_AN2.jpg one last thing about vehicles why not? able to modify their cars placing safeguards on them, it would be hard to find, toolbox or something to add the itens to car. and how many weapons that American weapons? there are so many choices of weapons as: http://www.arma2.com...ov-silenced.jpg http://www.arma2.com...pons_AK-107.jpg http://www.arma2.com...-107-GL-PSO.jpg http://www.arma2.com...-74UN_kobra.jpg http://www.arma2.com...weapons_PKM.jpg http://www.arma2.com...s_snip_KSVK.jpg http://www.arma2.com...SVDdragunov.jpg I was thinking why empty bottles of whiskey if we know it to use a bandage + bottle + gasoline = Molotov. http://3.bp.blogspot...600/340x255.jpg changing the subject, why not dogs? as companions or pets who attack you http://img197.images...81018170085.jpg or an aircraft carrier somewhere on the coast that would be accessible only by boat or aerial vehicles was it for now, sorry for my english and for anything offensive to the community in the topic and good game to all. I'd like to address a situation, based on my personal experience with DayZ (which may or may not be connected with most people, so take it with a grain of salt). So people are complaining about something that's no even getting implemented right now (Bans and such), since the ONLY thing Rocket said was that they're gonna start logging the data with the new patch. And many of the complaints are related to real life issues (have to feed my baby, etc etc ad nauseum), and the exhaustingly repetitive "I usually log in to X number of servers to check performance/day/night/crosshair/etc, and I need to do this everyday". So let me tell you, that sounds like a really boring way to get in game, and, it kinda (IMHO) takes away from the experience. You should find servers in which you like to play, and stick to them, for several reasons: 1) Building of a community in server, allows for cool RP'ing. For example, I'm currently trying to assemble a squad to patrol Cherno and Elektro outskirts and kill all noob-snipers there until they give up on the activity. And this is to be done in my main server. 2) I always know how the game will behave. My main server is Veteran, No crosshair, 3rd person ON, no kill messages, and it is -8h on my local time, so I always know it's daytime when I play in my evenings. 3) Vehicles and tents are server-bound. 4) My main server occasionally crashes/not updated/whatever, so I have a small list (3 servers) aside from my main in which I know I can play if needed. So my point being, instead of a desperate chase everyday for "a server", why not check one you like and stick to it? Thus all the "omg I'm getting banned (which you're not, since the update will only log data) for server hopping to get the best experience" seems quite pointless to me. Unless (and I'm pretty sure there are those cases as well), that the complainer is just trying to find a "workaround" to keep using alt+f4/log on/log off for whatever "cheating" purpose they like. Greets, G
