Again, the problem I have with admins having full kick/ban/lock powers is that it can be abused. Here's the thing to keep in mind.. they wouldn't have to do it every day for it to be abused. Maybe they only play/die once or twice a month.. that's once or twice a month people are kicked/banned to protect their corpses. Now, if it happens that 'infrequently' it's not likely to be much of a blip on anybody's radar and they'll get away with it scott free. As far as duping goes - yes, it's a major issue. AS50s, L85s, and NVGs everywhere. I honestly think this is one of the main problems the game is suffering from right now. As far as the hacks go though, the ArmA2 devs need to get off their asses and sort it out. Or Rocket needs to get away from the ArmA2 engine as quickly as possible. Something's got to give. I want to state about admin abuse - It doesn't have to be widespread to ruin somebody's day. I firmly believe that if you leave room for abuse, it will happen. This isn't a typical shooter where it's not as big of a deal, either. If somebody has been playing on a server for a month, happens to kill the admin or his friends(who figure out who did it) and gets banned? Imagine if he had a camp all set up, vehicles stashed, etc. He'll have lost all of that. The solution is, in my opinion, cheat detection and global bans. I feel that since we are in alpha right now, we should just suck it up, cry our tears when a hacker screws us over, and move on.

uhh no. Cars up to about the mid-90s are hotwireable, and thats irrelevant because Chernarus is like an ex-soviet nation which uses only outdated vehicles which means they should all be hotwireable.

It is to an extend. They want "cheating" and "Exploits" fixed so that ArmA functions as an MMO. This is not possible, it will remove key features and abilities used by the arma community for 3 years already, to run feature full servers, with mods, without mods. Custom user missions, custom vehicles, custom "abilities" such as radios, airdrops etc etc. All things that works through the scripting that arma is build around. It is NOT a fair request to ask bohemia to re-do how arma works, just so that a mod functions. Especially not when arma 3 is around the corner. If you want a great Day Z game, wait for standalone. Right now, it is what it is, its not up to bohemia to to suddenly abide by a mod, it is, afterall, a mod.

When I logged back on today I was like "oh grea- POP POP POP" as a kid wtih a DMR opened up on me. Good thing bads gonna bad and I got away. I did get banned away from my loot stash and vehicles though, which honestly pisses me off more than dying would have.

i think that bikes should never be a rarity in zombies movies/games/stories. because if you go to a town IRL, you'll find several. so, why not have them in cherno/elektro? maybe one or two out in the inland cities, but have most on the coast? a grand total of five is a little ridiculous for a 15x15km section of civilization. i personally think that there should be 10-15, because that way they aren't rare, but they aren't so common that everyone has one. i don't like the idea of a bunch, because then everyone's on one. it's cool, because of the visibility downside, but having so many makes it not as amusing to own them, because everyone has one. but! bikes are fun anyway. BONUS: i also think an interesting idea to add in dayz would be a locking system. as a counter to this, they could implement a lockpick. people could also lock cars and bikes. Not buildings. too many people would lock up the good loot spawns and farm it. but it would add a little more realism to the game. So why did i throw in that bonus? because if you go into town IRL, it's likely that 95% of the bikes are on bike locks. so if a locking system was in dayz, then you could stop your car from being jacked (if the thief doesn't shoot out the window/reach through the window because you didn't put windscreen glass on it. also, car alarms would be interesting, too.) also, if you lock up your bike, it would be server-bound and only someone with a lockpick could open the lock and take it. this would make vehicles last longer than they do, because someone usually ends up taking your car after a few minutes, anyway. enough rambling. should bikes be more common in dayz? vote!

Good post, but it doesn't change the fact the game is almost unplayable at the moment and some people will probably quit the game. This will possibly lose Rocket money in the end of the day, seeing as people will probably rage enough to not buy the stand alone because these problems have them so butt hurt. Luckily, these will probably be the 12 year olds, so maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. (On a side note) Me and my buddies just rounded up our first nest of vehicles, it was great and we had all the gear we could ever want, we hid them really well and went to take a break, upon return we found some hackers blowing up all of our stuff. They killed us and ended our long journey, these type of things, while they may not matter in the stand alone, will make people quit Day Z.

Thanks Firemac, yep, the good thing with the dwindling numbers is we wont have to worry about collecting vehicles, a couple of pushies will get us around :) hell if we get down to 2 members I can even double !

Cheer up mate, I've died a lot more from hackers and we lost like a total of 8 vehicles to hackers now, the real beauty in this game is getting fucked up and having the balls to go at it again, trust me good things will come

Medic down Part #2 ! Here goes with my running commentary. Last night was probably the worst night for us in some time, everything that could go wrong did ... Ok it started out with 4 of us, our band is shrinking fast and after our adventure our number dropped to 3 ... We loaded up the car and figured that we would do one last run south, the intent was to look for ATVs that bug out on the bridges, we patch them up, flip them over and drive them away. Its a good way of keeping our fleet going and has been working to date. Driving south, we came across our first ATV, it was already upright which was a first for us, so one of us jumped out of the minibus and climbed on the ATV, scored, our little convoy moved south. I stopped just outside of one of the cities to check my map and some cheeky bugger ran across the road and jumped in. We then continued south and our new passenger asked if we could pick up his friend, who was near balota, we agreed and found his friend after a few minutes, right after picking up his friend we also picked up another stranger that was being chased by zombies, he quickly jumped in as well. So now we have myself (driver), one of our team and 3 strangers in the car, one of our team on the quadbike which was following us. Getting away from the beach we proceeded north, the plan was to drop off our new friends at Zelengorsk's supermarket. Just after pavola we saw a survivor laying on the road, a zombie was eating him but it looked like he was still alive. We also saw that he had a gun (we normally do not pick up people with guns). We pulled up and one of our new friends jumped out and bandaged him while one of our team took out the zombie. We gave him morphine and he jumped into the car. Everything went well until we pulled up at Zelen, I stopped in the carpark adjacent to the supermarket and let them all out. Shit hit the fan, the guy we bandaged and saved cut loose with his gun, he managed to kill the other 2 new people in the carpark and hit our minibus really hard, I died again however our teammember jumped into the drivers seat and sped the bus out of town. Our quadbike had already gone ahead to the servo on the northside of town so was spared. I was dead... all the new people were dead and the bus was beat up bad, all windows were gone, engine and hull damaged badly. Ive had enough, as of now we will no longer be picking up or helping anyone else again for some time. I spawned, on my way back to see if my corpse was still there the server crashed... corpse gone. I got back on the server and rejoined the remaining 2 of our party and started to gear back up. Then a hacker hit the server, we were all summoned to the airport in the NW and a message came across the screen about 'welcome to the thunderdome' or some shit, we quickly aborted the game and changed servers. Now.. this caused us a problem, even though we were summoned to the airport and subsequently aborted, our vehicles were left unmanned along the road, we tried to get back on the server but this had then been taken down and took a long time to come back up again, we had changed servers in the meantime and proceeded to run back to where the vehicles were. We dropped into the supermarket at Vybor, 3 of us, when all of a sudden (not sure if it was a hacker or not) but loud music started being spammed in direct communication, then all 3 of us were killed. Our last remaining clanmember cautiously headed towards our building and then was one shotted as well. All members dead. Sigh.. Ok lets start walking back to get our corpses.. Oh shit.. server going down... all corpses lost.. Well. 1 member rage quitted, gone. Swearing and promising to not come back (the other 2 still havent come back either that rage quitted the night before). Honestly I dont blame them, between the senseless killings and hackers its making things a bit tough and you need to be hardcore to keep trying. Now there were 3, no gear, we had two vehicles somewhere north but we still had our tents albeit our supplies were really running low after so many deaths, regearing and dying again. By the time we reached the cars, 1 had to go to bed leaving the 2 of us, we got the minibus and quad and hid them then we took the minibus out to scavenge for parts at the factory near polana, the bus was in bad shape after the backstabber opened up on us at Zelen, driving through a town near Polana I did the unthinkable... I hit some rubbish :(, the bus was already hurt bad so it exploded, killed me instantly but my partner was thrown out and bleeding. She aborted real quick, called it a night and went to bed. Sigh.. started running back naked from Electro, found some stuff along the way and bang, server crashed... Changed servers and continue running back.. in the dark... no compass... Changed back to our server (it had come back up) and proceeded to the spot where we crashed and burned, now, this is probably the only time a crash or whatever actually benefitted us, the minibus was sitting there, intact ... my body was nowhere to be seen BUT THE BUS WAS THERE ! Got in, drove it to safety and camped. Team now numbers 3.

Hi. Ive been playing on the same server for a while (somehow it takes forever to connect to most servers since 1.7.2.4, this is one of the few where it doesnt remind you of loading games on a c64) and have some pretty decent stuff gathered, some vehicles, a lot of tools and weopons so i can run strait back to base if i get killed, you get the point. So i wanted to try to get in touch with the guys who run the server and see if we could team up, but they dont broadcast any ts-ip or anything, and a google search for their server or clan name brought me nowhere. Any way to get their attention apart from waiting for them to be online during server restart/ 60 sec timout group chat ?

Been playing about 3 or more hours a night for the past 3 weeks addicted. My friends and I searched high and low for cars. First time we stole a bus near Berezino and had a blast. 2 weeks later, friend found a van which lead us to travel the roads, run into two players in humvees, chased them down into a barricade and killed them and now had 2 vehicles. On our way to a hiding spot in the woods to call it a night we find a motorcycle. I'm pretty sure we used up all of our luck in terms of finding cars for the rest of the month but was still worth it for the 2 days we've been traveling in style.

With choppers, there isn't really a safe place. Once they introduce some sort of camouflage you can throw over your tents and vehicles, it won't be so bad. And lets not even go into what scripters can do. Best bet is to just scatter stuff everywhere.

Think about it... if you were a soldier you would probably have a gun of some sort... and if you actually start with guns like the way I'm trying to do it no one will istantly think "Oh I must be the only guy with a gun for like 30 miles so I'm going to kill you and take your stuff cause you have no way to defend yourself... atleast with my idea bandits wont be able to kill you as easily and might back off knowing you have a gun... plus a bandit may not kill you cause you may have bloodpacks depending on your occupation... a bandit will now more likely not kill you and ask what you are first... giving you a chance to pop em and live... you win they loose and all I see in that is a good idea/ a win... and I take back the thing about only doctors able to use blood packs and pilots being the only ones to fix vehicles... theres a point when it becomes to realistic and not very fun to play...

Now don't get me wrong, this is in no way the devlopers fault. But it has reached a point where playing has become more of a chore and more agitating than frankly banging my hand with a hammer. Now im aware many of you will tell me im QQing but at this point im a bit past it. We have played since febuary and really enjoy this game. So over the last week we have had (we are a clan) a series of tping slays, where we are all tped and slayed. Then our camps are spawned into, (a haxer spawns to vehicles) and doesn't bother taking them they just blow them up. (how do I know) well on more than 3 occasions this has happened. Some 1 just tpes next to us, we shoot them, 3 seconds later they are back with all the same gear the same name and eventually if we don't abort we are dead. So 2 days ago, I spent with a friend about 9 hours maybe more, solid finding and fixing a heli, (1st heli) we found and fixed 1. Set off picked up our other 3 friends, then headed to our base to pick up the 4th (total of 6). We land at our base which was miles above any where, a minute after we have landed, we get shot at. Now we are a descent clan we are very well geared, all 6 have guilli's and a mix of as50's thermal la85's and silenced m4's. All legit. So we split up and start looking for the guy shooting at us, Long story short he shot 4, 2 died and every 1 that got shot said they saw the bullet exit a weapon in front of them but couldn't see any 1, I had taken position 300 meteres away from our heli with my thermal gun, I could see every 1 on my team but no enemy. After hes shot the guys and the rest have given in and aborted the haxer gets in our van, drives around, stops then gets in our heli. At this point I have had the oppurtunity to look through the windows in the van and the heli and no 1 is there, He sets off and theres sweet fuck all I can do about it. I shot the shit out of the pilots window and nothing... So tonight me and my other clan friends spent about 5 hours fixing another heli, we finnaly get it working, set off, Pick up the other clan m8s and as we are going along the coast, Out of the blue I see another chopper which I couldn't believe. At no point did I assume this was a haxer, it's recorded we allsaid what are the chances. Any how he starts shooting at us, After some epic flying that klost him several times and a shotout, the haxers heli loses and gets shot down, His 2 of there guys die. Now at this point I figured some how he had managed to see where I had flown us, despite some rather epic flying skills. Turns out he was tping to us every time he lost us. 1 minute after we have shot the guys heli down, we land some where, Probably over a 1000 meteres away in an attempt to heal our very dead gunner, we land and low and behold a guy with an as50 spawns next to us, we all shot the shit out of him and no damage. he kills 1 or 2 of the reminaing 4 guys, I jump in and set off before he finishes us. I fly off with 2 of us left, Now at this point the guys on ts are raging like fuck as this has happened so many times and I am paying no attention, Knowing that where ever I land, he will spawn next to us and kill us, Then like a twat I hit a tree, not massivly fussed knowing I cannot land it to fix it anyhow, Me and my friend are some how still alive...so we jump out. 30 seconds later a heli spawns above us and starts lighting us up, despite the fact we are both in guilli suits in seperate tree's. So to sumerise in the last week we have come across some form of hax, at least 3 to 4 times a day on average, Which leads me to believe it must be real easy for these faggots to hax. There fore would it be real easy to fix? Truely this is the best game I have played for probably the last 5 years and all of us agree that this game deserves to be huge and rocket and staff deserve a great wage and a ferrari as a bonus, But I cannot bring my self to continue getting bummed by these little twats, after spending 5+ hours top have about 30 minutes of fun knowing we are going to get shafted. Ok, Me and my friends who play DayZ together were just chilling on Server LU130 (our preffered server) Time Zone: (UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London Admin: Goes by the name of: Maiztro My Username: ConceptDaz Well continuing with the scenario, i had recently died and were waiting for my fellow survivors to come pick me up, following orders to stick to the coast i made my way to BEREZINO from OTMEL a small island located at the south/se side of the map. Whilst walking up this coastline i came across a number of grouped vehicles with gear located within them. So i waited for my teammates we geared up grabbed a couple vehicles and headed back to base, on the way back to the base camp we encountered three players who had fired upon us. We tactically moved and made our counterattack resulting in the three players dying and taking a man down. Literally two minutes after the final kill two of my teammates were admin killed and reset. A further ten minutes later and me and my remaining geared partner were swiftly admin killed. (Other notes): the admin had indirectly requested to skype him about his vehicles with the sudden disappearance, we did not reply to this as we knew that it would result the same way. Please tell me how this is fair, if you leave the server or the area in which the vehicles are located it is your own responsibility/Fault that they are unprotected and are easy to be stolen after all this game is a survival game. This Admin also claims to have a strict PvP Ban yet it does not seem the case for anyone but himself. Yeah we laughed pretty hard about it. At least some hackers have a sense of humor. Laughing abruptly stopped when I was unjustly banned away from my loot stash and vehicles though. I spent my only day off this week gathering that shit :(

So we decided to pick a server to go PVP in Cherno, and we stumbled upon 281. We had several dudes and were holding down the two tallest buildings in the city when we took out a few dudes that were heavily armed, with coyote patrol packs. Upon looting their bodies, we found AS50s, MK-48s, and all sorts of ridiculously good weapons. They had NVGs, GPS, etc. About 10 minutes after killing them, they were baaaack, fully armed, shooting grenades at us from below. We did what any decent DayZ player could have done, and took them all out again. A few minutes later, they were back. See guys, when you don't cheat and hack for the best guns in the game, you learn to watch your back, aim true, and pull the trigger just in time. You don't run through like COD and try to blast people. But I guess, when you automatically start with assault rifles, its hard to develop those skills. So we killed you, over and over, only taking a casualty or two ourselves (one from friendly fire.) The hackers were TUT H3FTY PC DENTON there were a few more, but I can't remember now. Played on the server again, and found a fully loaded camp. Two buses, two cars, a van, two army trucks, a UAZ, two dirt bikes, and about 5 tents. They had almost every weapon in the game, and multiple copies of each, including about 6 AS50s. Oh, and those hackers listed above were in game at the time. So, we raped your hacker camp and stole all your shit and fucked up all your vehicles. We distributed weapons to tents on different servers. Thanks guys, we're now fully loaded.

As a server admin, I'm just curious if it is indeed possible to reset the server's environment (Vehicles, tents, and such) back to new?

Our server is being relentlessly hacked nightly. This has made the game unplayable for "serious" players. I realize that the engine has certain security limitations. Is there any timeline on when we can expect to see the beginnings of a playable standalone, where these cocksucking whoresons can be somewhat controlled or contained? I absolutely LOVE this mod. With all of the alpha glitches, etc... I still love it. But the stress of being killed nightly by invisi-players with speed hacks, ported into "mazes", having all of our vehicles disappear has tipped the fun to frustration ratio far out of whack. I am down with losing gear, and having to start over. Thats the nature of the beast. I dont mind "losing" to someone better, or luckier than I am. But the current state of affairs is to shitty to be endured. Cant wait for you guys to have something in place to counter these bastards. I have never been into pwding server, but am starting to believe that servers should be accessible by application only. It wont cure the problem, but it could be more of a deterrent.... Since there are NO deterrents existing currently.

Yeah, well, I don't play the game a lot but it is only my fourth. I've found a lot of the vehicles, if not all, but the only ones I have driven are the bus, little brittish car, boat and bike. I don't play enough to assemble a large camp or fix up a bunch of cars. We had a UAV as well but we found it, stashed it and before we played again (a week or so) someone else had found it and taken it.

Just woke up to news from my clan mates that the hacker returned today, killing everyone on the server, leveling buildings with sachel charges, and blowing up our vehicles in our new camp... Is there anything we can do?

Well I've finally managed to get on with the vehicles, the first time since Sunday and the helicopter appears to be gone. I didn't even get a chance to get in it :( A combination of work, vehicles globally missing and the server downright dying alot so we never got to secure it since that first leaky flight. On the bright side vehicle gear is going crazy and duplicating like its going out of fashion, if anyone needs 40 AK ammo I'll generously trade it for a bicycle.

Would love to see the alt+f4er banned. Doubt it will ever happen but it would be nice. Whoever was using the overlay to see the players and vehicles should be banned too but again, doubtful it will happen.
