Hey guys, so basically I'm tired of playing alone. When I play DayZ which I love, I just run around minding my own business... Don't misunderstand me, I admire how silent I am when playing alone and if I make a mistake, theres only myself to blame. However, it's getting quite boring. Therefore, I'm reaching out to the DayZ Forums.. I need some survivors to play with. I have played DayZ for over a month now, and I have probably the best gear in the game. AS50, Ghille, Rangefinder, NVG, GPS, you name it.. I also play on a server where I have several vehicles. What I'm trying to say is, I'm well fit and I know how to play the game. Now for some information about myself. I'm 15 years old, and basically I'm just enjoying my summer vacation with a lot of DayZ... Also, I'm from Denmark, so if there are any danish survivors out there that would be amazing aswell. I've had vehicles restolen many times within just a few hours. Easy come, easy go....

Hello, There have been a few instances now where there have been hackers in my server, and I've done my best to go through logs and identify who they are, but I'm assuming there must be a better way. A good example would be an incident that happened yesterday. Someone in my server was spawning vehicles and ammo... Multiple players reported to me that they would hear this person over direct voice chat offering them weapons, gear, etc, (all over the map). I looked through chat logs, but found nothing definitive as it appears he was primarily using voice. I have to imagine there's a way to see the spawning of these items, but I don't know what it is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

tell you what. i once ran out of balota and on the treeline outside the village i found a motorcycle in the grass. i took it and drove of. after 200meters the session was lost. when the server restarted it maybe would have been just a few minutes away where the guy left it. when i found a pickup outside a castle, i quickly drove off with it and saved it a mile away to loot a barn when that server restarted. so you never know. next just just increase you search radius.. once rocket wrote though that if you park your vehicle to far out (like way northwest, after the airfield) vehicles get deleted.. (or something like that).

Lol, yeh don't forget about the secondary explosions from crashed vehicles.

People do find them pretty quickly. I have found like 4 vehicles.. none of them survived the night. Sometimes if the server is especially shitty, your vehicle won't save even if you choose to save it, and will respawn to its last position (AKA where you found it).

Is there a way for an admin to purposely restart/set the server to hide camps while he is away and then restart the server to have everything come back. I have found it very fishy that during the day my camp full of tents and vehicles are not there while the server admin is not on. I then come back several hours later directly after a fresh server restart and all of my things are there and the admin is magically playing again. Is this something the admin is doing to prevent players from finding his own camp while he is away? I just thought this was a little fishy. Also, when the admin is playing, he will frequently do random restarts to "shake" non regulars off of the server. Please let me know your thoughts here.

This game is about the players discovering everything for themselves, give us a heatmap of the players and a lot of "hiding" places will show up and interest people to go give that a look when they otherwise wouldnt have done that. It's bad enough all the vehicles, choppers, loot spawn locations WITH PERCENTAGES are already out there, basicly fucking over anyone still wanting to play in the "dark", because half the players already have all that info and thus any chance of spotting a vehicle or some actual discovery in this game is already very much hampered. And then the devs themselves want to give a map of player locations too ? hidden camps anyone ? That you cannot understand this probably makes you at least as big an idiot as me.

Oh, people do find trucks in the middle of nowhere, trust me. Spotting a truck isn't that hard if you have an L85, their wheels glow like a firework. Tents do have a bug that the equipment inside may temporarily disappear until the next restart, however I didn't hear anything about the same happening to vehicles.

Hey, I managed to fix up a truck, and I drove it deep into the forest to park it when i logged out. It was in the middle of the night, so was pitch black - i couldn't see the truck after i got out, so just lay down next to it and disconnected. A couple hours later I rejoin the server, and the time is completely different - still night time, but not 2 hours after i logged out - i think there was a server restart. Someone told me that occasionally your vehicles/tents don't respawn again on server restarts - i think that may be what happened, as i doubt anybody could find it deep in the wilderness in the pitch black of night. Anyway, if that IS the case, is my truck gone forever, or will it spawn again on the next restart? Thanks.

Lol, the Huey is actually pretty fragile, far from indestructible. I think you mean the chopper "owns" because it makes finding vehicles and camps so easy.

true point, but as a group with several vehicles, who knows and even i it is a bit of a long shot, it still means that there is a clear cut advantage to be playing at the same time as admins then any other time kinda narrows the playtime per day really, want to play late at night? tough shit, admins have logged off, servers dont reset and pretty much every heli is looted

Hmmm, haven't heard the vehicle damage part. Checked the damage, 37552 / 174205 m107 / nato I would assume they deal so much damage it wouldn't even mater against vehicles, but if so.. keep 1 nato clip just for such an occasion.

nato does around 127k damage, m107 does 37k i believe. same for people and vehicles.

Right. I also heard that when using the M107s you do around a steady 30k damage, but using NATO rounds you do 25(?)k damage with up to 160k damage to vehicles

So me and my friend decided to join SESUK 1, only to find out that players and vehicles were marked on the in-game map so that everyone could see it. Screenshot below. Server: SESUK 1 Time: 17:01 UTC +2 What happened: Opened up the Map, got pissed, disconnected and changed server. After that little incident we changed server to FR 129 hoping for better luck, no way. After looting cherno a while we heard a vehicle approaching us, a black SUV, wtf? We shot the driver (whose name I can't remember...) and took some screencaps. Server: FR 129 Time: 17:32 UTC +2 What happened: A black SUV p-i-m-p style rolled up next to us. Oh and our long time server we played on (US 883) probably got some script kiddies with vehicle locators. We tried hiding several vehicles all across the map and every single one of them disappeared very quickly. I really hope BIA guys can somehow get these cheaters/hackers to stop ruining the game. If not, I'm eagerly waiting for the standalone version of this game :)

10 or so tents all now empty(had several of every weapon - well, most weapons) with two tents that were crushed by vehicles now back to normal. Blown up tractor back to normal and the two trucks and the two bikes we had are still there. Fix this shit, annoying as fuck.

We are looking to add 1-2 players to our current group of 4 skilled players. We usually play in the evening 19:00 - 02:00 (GMT +2). We call NL36 our home (we are also the host of this server). You must be 21 years or older, have a proper working microphone (we use Teamspeak 3). Our daily activities consist of hunting players (Stary / NWA, and the occassional Elektro or Cherno raid), finding/repairing vehicles, and looking for camps. Vehicles aren't worth at all for me. They attract to much attention, get blown very easily, get stolen all the time, you have to find parts to repair, hard to drive in towns, have to stop on places to fill up the gas. It's just a really big chore. The concept is cool but there are just way too many ways to lose what you worked hard to achieve and it's just not worth it. The most fun you can have in this game is running along the shore talking to random people and killing bandits. The best part of DayZ is the first hours when you are completely new and out of gear, unafraid of losing stuff and you can actually go and interact with people. Having things - cars even more - makes you cautious and retracted and thus more prone to KoS other players. You don't wanna lose your car, of course, that means you will take less risks. I don't really know what could be done to solve this. These are just some thoughts I had from my play time so far. Cars are not worth the trouble.

Hint: You suck at hiding vehicles. Our group keeps them for ~15 days on average. As to the OP, rarity is good. If they weren't rare, they wouldn't be precious; and if they aren't precious, people will have no reason to risk their lives acquiring and defending them. Keeping them rare gives veteran players a scarce and precious commodity over which to fight and vie for control and dominance. It's the only end game we have. It gives us reason to hunt for 90 minutes at the end of every night for that perfect hiding spot because you don't want to use the same one twice. Take it away and all we will really have left is murder; and people seem to feel we've got enough of that around already. And trust me just because you don't see them doesn't mean they're not being tested.

fun hacker encounters: 1) hacker teleported next to us, we had 3 vehicles, i was on Atv and my friend was in V3S nearby and last one was in Pickup truck. Hacker started blasting off with some silenced submachine gun, killing driver in a Pickup truck instantly. When i noticed the guy in a Ghillie suit i backed off a little and got out of my Atv to take the guy out, while he was still shooting Pickup truck and destroying it. I had him on my sight and headshot him atleast 10 times from DMR (i saw blood marks from his head), my other friend on V3S truck ran him over and his body flew backwards 10m, still the guy didnt die and just killed us. 2) hacker teleported everyone do the International Hotel roof in Cherno, some players were just running off the roof edge, not realizing where they were :D, but as that place has no alternative way down, you had to jump off anyway, unless you wanted to wait for a miracle chopper. (also 2 friends were in the bus when the hacker striked, and they were safe, maybe being in a bus has immunity to teleportation script) :P

No, we would not. Because a player who's not a complete and utter retard, would not pick up a weapon he's not supposed to. I've found hacked weapons, I've found obviously hacked vehicles, yet I never touched the hacked in weapons or vehicles.

You are a total moron. I wasn't even in the game!! - you had the whole server to yourself. I banned all of you from simply monitoring rCon in the MS DOS panel from my note book. Theres no way of telling from there what gear / vehicles you had got... All I know is that you was NOT on the server for "Hours" you was all on the server for "minutes" and you claim to have got a Helicopter, ATV's, Fuel and repairs in that time... GO JUMP. More vehicles and less weapons is what I would like to see.

Me and a few friends have been playing this game for far too long, gotten to many items along with my friends that we dont use at all or even look at, therefore we are willing to trade away some (ALOT) items for TF2 items.To get rid of some items, we will be trading them with TF2 items and TF2 items ONLY! we are not interrested in getting anymore DayZ items cause we have no use for them, Lee Enfields is more than enough for us! we will also sell vehicles and vehicle parts, but its only on very, very few servers.
