Thats a lot of restart and Sooooo soon after we found the vehicles, like within 5 mins, no warning just saw some messages on the screen and then it was closed. Plus others have complained. Besides for it to be down long usually would mean they shut it down rather than the system. -

That's the bug i mentioned then, it's not supposed to set the whole horizon on fire, it can happen with other vehicles too. With a heli crash you can always hear very clear secondary explosions for a while afterwards. -

I was there. Besides something is up when you have ppl on this forum complaing about all 3 of the servers they host, how many times they shut it down, all of em. And the fact they did it a few mins after the vehicles were found. And its still dead. Admins cant get mad at innocent players who happen upon stuff. -

A hacker called Damon Grant visited the Server DE282 around 22:35 today. When me and a clanmate drove our vehicles around countryside we saw a guy shooting at us. We then drove away a bit and layed an ambush in case he run after us. He soon came in side and took quite a few hits from my mate. However instead of dying he teleported behind and instantly shot me. I got into a strange mode where I didn't die but could still look around me without losing any blood or having a brocken bone. A bit like being wounded in ARMA 2, just without the vision getting red. I then saw him running to one of our vehicle (taking to shots to the stomach from an M4A1) and trying to run my mate over with a truck while taking at least 5 shots around the chest/ neck area and three headshots. As my buddy didn't manage to abort the game fast enoug hafter we decided that our oponent was a hacker he respawned in order to get his gear. 10 mins after however he and most of the other guys on the server got ported to a debug area and died due to everyone shooting at each other. Soon after he respawned he found the corpses of approximately ten guys very close to each other. When the server was full at 40 players at the time the hacker joined it had around ten afterwards. I'll be checking it throughout the night. All the proof is in the pictures. That and other complaints about the other two servers they run. I mean look at the times of it all. It's to perfect. They can't even say we were doing something stupid like server hopping because we were there for 30 minutes. Truth be told I found the boartyesterday night during another large 40 tent raid, but was waiting for my friend to get on as we are fully geared. You see my wife plays and we were being very careful. We figured there had to be a camp there since the boat was there for over 24 hours and those same two people were playing. We go explore and low and behold two amazing vehicles. 10 minutes later server completely shut down. If you look on there server restart logs, they've been doing it a lot. Bust usually only lasts 30 minutes or so. We must of really made them upset as it's been down for a couple hours and probably the rest of the night. If it does come back up, I have a team including my wife and we'll raid it and destroy it all and then save it. I have fraps ready, I'm very determined to get server admins like this away from ruining the community. Hopefully others see the proof here. I hope they come and open the server with a lock, I'll fraps it all and hopefully have it blacklisted. -

I have been keeping a close eye on the antics of SOBR clan on the server and we may set another trap so see if the results end in the same outcome. Thomas Beckett seems to be extremely lucky at finding vehicles and I have some reasons to suspect foul play at foot. BattleEye are working on something big so time will tell. -
About one month ago a group of two players were attempting to steal the vehicles from my group's camp. As one dude was driving out I shot him in the driver's seat and hid down in some brush, with the car they wanted to steal in an exposed position on the side of a hill. I knew they had come here for our cars so obviously the other guy would be coming to drive it away and/or avenge his buddy's death. And so I waited. About five minutes later he skylines himself on the top of the hill, walking toward the car I shot his buddy out of. With my M4A3 CCO I shot him until he dropped. I walk over to his body and he had an L85 AWS. As with anything else in this game, patience and misdirection can go a very long way.

Nice suggestions from OP, but I dont think it should be harder for solo players! There should be more vehicles, because they're so rare in the present DayZ. I also think the map should contain all kinds of weather; Desert, snowy areas, forest etc. Oh and one last thing, please make the engine alot better (arma 3?), because the present one has pretty crappy graphics and it still requires "Crysis"-hardware!

Edit: I should add I only played PSO very little. However, DayZ reminds me more of EVE Online than any game I've played because of the harshness and the player-driven communities. With that said, EVE Online is somewhat ruined by RMT and I hope that DayZ never implements RMT to buy guns/vehicles etc. because I will probably stop playing.

Vehicles outside map boundaries

What about a big reinforced wall on the end of the vegetation. So you couldn't walk over, or destroy it. And for those helicopters, there could be a warning that they will be destroyed in a couple of seconds, if they won't return. This could be explained, by an attempt to contain the infection like in serveral zombie movies. Of course the boats could get the same warning. So we could keep all the vehicles in side our lovely sanbox and have all fun with it. :D -
So, looking for a good US server with a good community I can join in on, one with or without 3p, but mostly without crosshairs or side-chat and that has good admins and or automated restarts, vehicles, etc etc. I would hop onto any server that has that on the list but I don't want to join in some random server/community that ends up shutting down their server after a while because they want to go do other missions, basically a DayZ only community with their own servers. Anybody got any good servers they could recommend to me? Screw google, I want to know what people know or have.

This part of the game, is a bit, meh. Its not the kind of gameplay we really want to see. People having to go miles north and hiding things off the map, because they know when they come back there stuff will be gone. While not all of this is when a players offline, a large chunk of it is. I tried to think of what being offline could mean in DayZ. My first thought was that it simulates sleep, but you would wake up if someone was in your tent.. It doesnt really simulate anything, its a time when you are completely inactive. My suggestion therefor, is that somewhere down the line, tents only become interactive when the player who owns them is online. However harsh the game is, you at least deserve the chance to be able to defend your stuff. As far as vehicles go, I dont think they should go the same way, just because if it did, everyone would start getting vehicles. But you should at least be able to lock the vehicles. Implement some sort of key system and a hotwiring system. Could also have a key replicating piece of equipment. Just something, stuff being targeted just because you cant spent 24/7 defending it, is not how this game should be

good evening fellas sooo...since i cannot find any posts that realy contains my toughts ill be rude and post another one with a whole lot of flameqqqqqwtf...etc. as i understand it, this game is based on arma. The statement in this is, that it i9s supposed to be realistic. however, u just cant guarantee realism with a hive system dont get me wrong i dont intend to critisize the hive idea...i really like it, especially the mobility it guarantees. my concerns are about the side effects...and yes, there have been at least one brazillion posts about it. server hoppers now this realy is getting out of hands...want a cool truck? go to the spawn and log till u find it on any server..taddaaaa want some cool gear? do as listed above...taddaaaaaa wanna sneak around your enemys or just fix yourself, because you got shot and managed to log in time? serverhopping is the key! heres the solution: one server change every 4 hours or so, try to abuse that changing earlier will just result in the player constantly getting kicked from the new server. battleloggers my toughts: it is never safe to rest within a zombie apocalpyse...however, its not an option to keep players loaded all the time...that too, would be bullshit. so ill just make this short: i really like the idea of keeping the player in the game for a certain time(30 secs to 2 mins) after logging, making him vulnurable for zeds and players n shit. furthermore there should be some kind of announcement when a player decides to log out. in my opinion something like a ingame shoutout("lets get out of here") when logging, possibly in addition a log message within 100 to 300 meters around the player. to avoid abuse there would of course be the need to have a "connected" message within the same range as well. so this would really guarantee players to check thrice if they are in a safe distance to any kind of danger, making batllelogging virtually impossible(except for escapes from snipers...but w/e...they are snipers, these guys have their advantages as well). campers aside from the aws, which is ridicolusly OP and needs to be expelled from the game, the possibility of just sitting in a certain position and camping is (imo) too easy right now...since its is only a game of our present technological resources, it is insanely difficult to spot a sniper that pinned u down on a certain range. acoustics will only get u so far and with the resolution on which we are playing, finding an enemy with a ghillie suit under a bush is kinda impossible. and of course that is what it should be like...but lets at least make the sniper work for this advantage. i was thinking of maybe spawning random zombies within a hundred meter range around the sniper and then maybe slowly moving towards him... the sniper would in that case need a partner to distract/kill these zombies....maybe even outside of the viewing range of the intended vitims. im sure this idea might be hated on by you dear fellas, farming fresh starters all day erryday, chillin outside of cherno but hey....grow up ;-) carstashing lol lets our own server and then proceed to stash every single car in a huge stash, making it impossible for other players to ever have a vehicle...drive the cars? naaay thats realy lame...it might get damaged my thoughts where that we should possibly just put a mark for every vehicle on the map, that has not been driven for more then 48 hours visble for players within a 2km radius possibly to keep the search going...plus: every player can only claim one vehicle this way. and voila: u will have acces to vehicles which are just rotting away in the forest. it might, however be neccessary to at least have some parts fall apart when not used for said time...else, getting started would be too easy additionaly, the 7 days respawn time on destructed vehicles is too much...far too much...noone will ever risk a car like this... how about one day max? last thought: i realy think cars should not blow up when struck by an as50 or m107...its okay if the engine breaks and u just cant drive on, etc. but blowing up just like that will allways scare people to drive their vehicles. expect for explosives of course...but hey...whoever carries a rocketlauncher with him all the time deserves that fun and whoever manages to get a grenade close enough to a car does as well( possible nerf for m203 needed). in the other cases, the specific components would just be damaged...that way takin over a car from another group would even become more likely. TL;DR: meh..u better gettodahchoppaah and get outa here so now that was not intended to be as detailed but hey...hope it really might put you guys up to something and might even have effects in the game...one must allways have dreams. cheers

If he weren't an admin, would that have changed things? Anyway... I agree with OP (but beware, I play with him and I'm an admin too!). Wouldn't it be more fun if vehicles were actually used what they are in game for instead of just hoarded outside of the map boundaries? Sure you could take lots of food and water and go play Running Simulator 2012 Pro outside of the map boundaries to find those vehicles. But wouldn't it be fun if you could actually sometimes see one driven or could stumble upon one somewhere in the mountains? Sure, the vehicles should despawn after 24 hours, but there have been reports that after 3 days without touching a vehicle, it was still there. There should just be a big invisible wall on the map boundaries so the vehicles stay in the map. Or Chernarus should be an island like Lingor so you can't drive them off map. Or vehicles should automagically break down when you leave the map... lots of possibilities... -
What I'm trying to do is locate a server admin that shut down his server when we stole his vehicles with LOTS AND LOTS (of obviously duped) items. The server ID is US 935 btw.

isn't there a class system in DayZ already? you are what you have in your backpack.. you can't be a all in one player, because you do not have space for everything in your bag.. we can also work towards this idea.. serious injures can not be treated by yourself you need a second player - medic (you can only take morphine, bandage yourself but still lose a small amount of blood until you find someone to do it for you and fix you 100% or if you are lone-wolf you can do the bad bandage and after a longer period of time you eventually are completely healed but maybe because of the bad bandage you have a little infection an need some drugs to treat it, broken bones can be partly fixed using branches and 100% fixed by another player, for lone-wolfs again it takes longer to be completely treated if you do not find a medic) big guns can not be stored in your backpack - sniper/soldier/whatever (you chose what you will be using a sniper rifle, winchester, AK47.. or maybe you can store them in your backpack but it takes lots of space and you don't have room for other things you need to survive.. this way you should be able to carry a couple of rifles to your base but you will need the help of the team to get to your base safe) tools used to repair stuff and a full set of first aid tools take bigger space in your backpack - medic/engineer (so you have to choose will you have a backpack full with tools or a backpack fool with medicine) everyone can have a pistol and a bigger gun but medics and engineers do not have space for a lot of ammunition some players crash vehicles more than others (same with helicopters) so if you are good with the in-game controls you will usually be the driver of your group this way you are free to change who you are if you get bored being a medic and you will be motivated to team-up with other players and for lone-wolfs it is harder to survive alone but not impossible and that's why some players want to be lone-wolfs.. for the challenge

you must have read something wrong friend. trust me, i'm not on the side of the admins. if you read the other 7 pages you would know that. and, the majority of their stuff up there was not by any means 'l33t' and would not take much time to acquire. ( sorry guys, but it's true :P ) the only thing that would take time to amass in that camp was the vehicles, for which i give props to that clan for getting. only thing missing was the chopper and the bus i think (feel free to rpove me wrong) the tell-tale sign that they weren't dupers was the fact that they didnt have multiples of almost anything, and had a bunch of low quality guns. if i was a duper, i'd dupe all the best weapons, not single crappy weapons.

In the game there are different chat channels. Like "Side Channel", "Direct communication", "Vehicle Channel", "Group Channel". Do I missed one? Can somebody explain who can see what I write (or mark on the map) in which channel? What I know: Side channel Readable all over the server. But what if I do a mark on the map? Is it also visible for everyone? Direct communication Readable in a certain area around you (40m?!), same with VoIP. Marks on map visible for everyone? Or just when one is in this certain area? Vehicle channel Just visible/readable for people who are in vehicles? Group channel I have no idea.. :D So thanks in advance and please correct me when I'm wrong :) Edit: Oops, I think I got into the wrong section of this forum. Should be posted in "New Player discussion", sry for that.

Well if that was true then other players on server that got teliported by hackers would show on list. These guys should up at our camp when vehicles was getting teliported etc.Was 10 players on server at the time and they showed up on logs a number of times. Well I have had a few run ins with people running scripts, one time the whole server died at once to a Russian, people started to get teleported into the air as I was on ts but not in game the server got stopped straight away and no-one lost anything. The funniest was last night, so me and a mate were setting up an ambush in the wilderness when some guy starts speaking over direct comms, this is pretty trippy as we cant see anyone anywhere. So eventually the guy shows himself and declares himself a genie and if we can answer some questions we get 3 wishes. At this time we are franticly trying to find out who this guy is so we carry on.. He asks if we want to see his spaceship so we are like yea go on then, a boat pops in on top of my mate breaking his legs and knocking him out. We fix him up and he asks for his first wish, a chopper and a chopper appears. Then the second wish was a dog, now I dont know if this was some dude morphed into a dog or a random npc but lassie kept running around and wouldnt come home. At this point my mate tries to fly the chopper, this goes badly and it goes boom, lol. The genie as ill now call him asked what I wanted for the third wish I wanted a tank but apparently that wasnt fair, oh the irony. So we get in his time travel spaceship go pick up my mate then he teleports around to random people proclaiming a great flood is coming and they should get on or die in the flood, I dont know why but people didnt take to his time traveling spaceship and mostly ran away. On about the third teleport to what I believe was actually another "hacker" who as he spoke to him glitched around like mad and eventually killed us all and himself somehow. While all this was going on another admin was constantly scanning logs trying to find who this guy was and the two names who we believe were the genie and the guy that killed us show up no IP and no guid, no record of them at all. A restart wiped any vehicles that had been spawned but it seems thats about the best we could do. So it would seem that at least at this stage we are completely at the mercy of anyone who wants to do whatever they want. Can I say though people who kill the whole server or teleport you somewhere stupid doing malicious things for whatever reason they have are bad, this genie guy although I dont agree with using all this stuff and would of banned the guy if we even could was really funny and not just ruining peoples days for lols. -

I'd love to be able to take wheels off vehicles. Find a vehicle or two stacked together? I'll take the best one, all their spare parts and remove the wheels and take fuel out of the second. Troll and roll. -

I use Host Altitude and they are very friendly. They actually go out of their way to give you a refund if you are not satisfied. Vehicles can take upward of 3 days to begin spawning on a fresh server.
