Back on topic. One again we've found the vehicles, my wife, friend, and I got them, brought them to our camp transfered everything and are in the process of looking for anything else. I have the majority of it recorded on fraps, including another lost communication. This time however the server was back up shortly, and the vehicles were where we saved them 8k meters away. All I can say is thank you, hopefully if indeed it was admin abuse, this thread will host some of the bad events. Better yet, we were mistaken and it just happened to restart the perfect time we stole the vehicles on separate days. Either way, we have all of it now and are considering moving to another server to set up base because of all the problems we've experienced in this server. If anyone has problems with this server, please compile it here as a record to keep the forms organized. Thanks! Mike -
Well just a little tale i thought i would share with you guys i found kinda amusing... So me and a few buddies had a GAZ and were on a hunt for medical stuff nr Berezhino when we go through Black Lake and find a Pick-Up!! instantly im running for it... i just love them!! Down side is both vehicles now have Red engines so we go along the north looking for spares... We end up at the NW airfield and after a good search we find nothing, nothing in Vybor or down the west coast so we think bugger it, server is quiet, lets head to Cherno/Elektro...... So we power down the west coast to Kamenka, GAZ with 4 guys ahead and men a buddy in the Pick-Up just behind. Then the twisty section arrives just North of Kamenka and all i wanna do is power slide.. it's why i love the pick-up so much, so the first couple of corners go well, getting the tail right out.. then disaster, The GAZ runs wide and slows at the next tight left hander about 15ft ahead of me, im already into the slide in 1st person not realising what was about to happen... As i exit the corner (still sideways) i hear a mighty thump from the right rear side of the truck... The GAZ hadn't got back on the road to gain distance on us, i had swiped them clean off the road... next my teamspeak lights up with cries of "WTF!!!" and "DERPY!! what have you done?" so i look back to see a burning wreckage and one man pulling another away from the blaze, seems i had shunted them clean into a woodland.. in my defence they should have driven better and stayed on the road. We lost quite a few weapons in the car and some lovely things for our camp, and i learned a valuable lesson! When power sliding in a convoy make sure you are in the lead vehicle and that the other drivers are capable of staying on the road. safe to say the pick-up took no damage and we found engine parts in Cherno..... Shame really that 4 guys are now walking :) ^^ me and the pick-up before the events!

Was searching the NE tip at Guba for a PBX spawn and I walked upon 2 guys, spawned a BUNCH of vehicles, one of those giant ammo crates that you see if you've ever been Thunderdomed. So basically at the very NE tip of the map, where the little bay begins to wrap around is where all the vehicles/gear is: Killed the 2 of them, guess no godmode? And took what I wanted from their big gear box.

Pretty sure I would be notified if my IP/Server was blacklisted, not to mention I dont play on the server. But thanks for your input. The DayZ_Radar was just recently taken down, and regardless what does DayZmod have control over what I use to parse my logs? DayZ Radar when I did have/used it, does not work on an OPEN .rpt file. So that is kind of pointless to use as a "cheat" since you would have to take the server down etc to move play with the log.rpt... And if I am looking for tents/vehicles, what is the point in even playing? Lol That does not make sense. Think next time please. -

Hey man, I dont hack.... We are a bunch of 4 people. I was alone on the north border, my 3 mates (we are in Teamspeak) on their way to NW Airfield. i was searching for camps. then i Spoted 3 guys with my L85 in termal scope.I saw also 1 bus, 2 bikes, 1 ATV, 2 tractors,1 Motorcycle, and a bunch of other vehicles in your "camp".... And you all guys had the AS50 TWS (but im the hacker.. lol) I shoutet in TS and waited for my mates After 1 guy drove away with a bike, i waited for my mates. I shot at one in your base with as50, but dont hit.... long story short, we all died. we dont hack.... and i dont know any player named Severus. Tomorrow i can give you a youtube vid, my mate has captured all.

Satchel charge barracks camping or ( a server hoppers nightmare)

So let me give you some background before I get into the meat of this story. On the server I play on we have been plagued by alt + f4 people and server hoppers (usually the same people) who raid our barracks, see loot, take loot, jump to another server and rinse repeat until they have all the gear they want. Recently an SVD camo dropped and we needed another but the guy who found it didn't have the room. I was in South Barracks and he was North so I made my way there while he stepped out to check the outside of the barracks. In the time it took him to do one sweep of the (sniper hills) a person had jumped in, got the rifle and jumped out. We, as a clan, got sick of it so we started thinking of ways to combat the issue and stick it to these assholes. The first idea was for us to simply sit outside watching the windows and headshot people as they come in. This become a very large security risk as it took three people minimum to do this. One watching the window and two doing overwatch or two and one, depending on the people online. This was because at south barracks people tend to spawn OUTSIDE and then run into the barracks, loot, and run back out to hop to another server. We scrapped this idea because it was just too risky after a near miss from a hopper almost dropping one of our overwatch. I am now sharing our current plan and it works extremely well. Our clan had a surplus of satchel charges sitting around that we never used due to us never finding a good use for them other then blowing up vehicles we wanted to respawn and blowing up camps, so we took one of them to the North barracks at night and set up. In order to completely destroy the barracks 100% of the time the satchel charge MUST be placed at the third door in, count them like this. 0. Shower room. 1. Loot room. 2. Loot room. 3. Loot room. (Satchel charge here) 4. Loot room. The charge is placed in front of the door in the hallway of loot room 3. Move out and a good distance away from the building and detonate. (for added fun, wait till a server hopper hits the barracks THEN detonate, 2 birds one stone). Once this is complete you will be left with a completely ruined building and rubble all over the ground but the LOOT WILL CONTINUE TO SPAWN, EVEN WHEN MOVED (loot piled) ELSEWHERE. Well done, you have now created a death trap on anyone who comes into the barracks, let me explain. When you detonate a building the server registers the explosion every time you log in and log out, doing so close by you can actually hear the explosion as you load in. When a played logs into the barracks they log in on a rubble pile and or an area now completely gone and the game reacts the same was as if you were crawling on a rock. The game bugs out and the player in question is knocked out, bleeding, broken legs and sometimes shock. You can get any of these issues and or all of them upon logging into the server as well as absolutely no cover from the barracks making you an easy target. Players who log in are now easy pickings for you and you get all the delicious loot they have gathered from ALL the other servers they have hopped from. :) WARNING : WANDERING NEAR THE BARRACKS TO COLLECT YOUR LOOT CAN SOMETIMES GIVE YOU THE ABOVE EFFECTS DUE TO THE DESTROYED BUILDING BUG. COLLECT LOOT AT YOUR OWN RISK AND CARRY MORPHINE + BANDAGES AT ALL TIMES WHEN CHECKING THE LOOT. Beans if you found this useful. Enjoy cleansing your server of the plague that is server hopping :D -
This is where my beans are going. I like the idea of having the old familiar spots available, but making the world larger and more varied at the same time. Of course, spawning 67km from your buddies would be problematic, so it might become necessary to have it divided into "zones" that you could select on spawn. That way you can pick your starting point, within 10km or so.But if I may be romantic and impractical for a moment, here's my dream situation for a "hardcore" DayZ server: Procedurally generated world, using a sophisticated terrain generating algorithm combined with some fancy logic for distributing loot-bearing buildings and vehicles around the map. Each server whips up its own world when it starts up, like Minecraft or Dwarf Fortress might, and then player characters are bound to that server, unable to move gear from one to another. I'd even go so far as to have an end-game condition. When it's met, the server restarts and creates a new world, and everyone starts over on it. New, fresh survival experience every time. No more server hopping to get loot or avoid night time or infiltrate camps. No more mandatory hospital run to Cherno or Elektro after spawning. No more mad rush to NWAF or Stary to get lewt. In-game map is the only map. The other feature I'd like to see is a substitute for the base building mechanic we have now. Arma has a built-in base building feature that never gets any attention. You can play it like an RTS, spending resources to erect barracks and fortifications and even make vehicles. I don't want anything quite like that in DayZ, but I'd like to see an option to fortify and upgrade individual buildings, or even settlements. A perimeter wall, some locked doors, a lot of scrap metal and time and effort and you could "lock down" a little town or farm or something. As you increase its defensive capabilities, the zombie spawn rate inside and near it is reduced, but so is the loot spawn rate. You'll no longer find rifles in the barn that you mysteriously overlooked the first 40 times you went in there, but there won't be zombies wandering into your yard but once or twice a day. Park your vehicles, stash your meds, hoard your food, amass your weapons. Players could still mess you up, of course, but that's the chance you take.

Restarting the mission does not clear vehicles or tents. Lately the server forums are just chalk full of people dispensing bogus information. -
So I'm the Norway 28 server admin. Just spawned so I don't have a map myself, but 5 of my friends told me they could see EVERYONE on the map including all vehicles. Wtf am I supposed to do with this shit? Ran a server restard, but if it doesn't get sorted it's nothing I can really do about it.

It is very possible your vehicles were destroyed via a hack. Now you are stuck waiting for them to respawn. Should you wish to hasten their resetting, restart the DayZ mission. Not the server, the Mission. Doing so will reset your vehicles. It will also clear away tents and other placeables. It's just a complete DayZ reset. -

It's pretty clear that all that's being looked for here is clarification. The issue isn't that he wants his clan to have all the vehicles, it's that he wants to be able to play on the server he/his clan pay for and have at least a chance of finding vehicles, rather than a partially functional server. As for "they don't care how many people rent servers," that's just silly. Of course they care. They need people to rent and run servers with their mod so that it continues to get publicity so that when the Standalone comes out there is a community waiting. Without servers they have no community and far fewer assured purchases of the game. -

I agree with Worsin, its really frustrating having a 50% working server, im ok with playing on it and looking for crash sites but thats pretty much it, i know i cant find any broken huey, no atv, no bike no nothing and im 99% sure of this since it's been reported by the players on my server, they dont like it, i dont like it. One day we had vehicles, next day we didnt have them anymore. EDIT: If we wanted a server only for vehicles we could just host a private hive, i dont want a private hive, i want the legit version of a server, but i sure as hell want it to work better than the private ones, and at this point it really isnt. -

Vehicles are a huge part of the game but not all of it. I want my own server that has vehicles. Why would i want to play on a server and pay for a server that has no vehicles? All you have done in your posts is try to argue against my wanting an official response. You take my words and twist them in a way to make them support your argument. Are you a woman? -
Hackers are of course just the Arma2 dev team showing off the fun vehicles and weapons in their game in spite of zombie fans that came for dayz! Rocket is behind every hacker activity.... i know it. How do i know? I JUST DO

I know why a clan wants their own server but you seem to only want to have a server because you want vehicles (you even said that). You either want your own server, or you don't. If you want one, you don't care about vehicles and a possible bug that may prevent them from spawning. Such a bug will get fixed - period. So better get your argumentation straight befor you presume I'm trolling and call me ignorant buddy. -

My server has an instance ID over 6000. It has vehicles, plenty of them actually. Don't assume your server won't get vehicles, just because there's a rumor floating about. -

Let's say you get the vehicles. And let's say someone raids your camp and takes them. Then what? Server reset? If you and your clan want some vehicles, go find some and take them. I play either alone or in a group of 2 people, and so far I found 1 Ural, 1 bike and 1 ATV (oh, and I saw an epic Huey crash in Electro). Sorry, but buying (more like renting) a server to get your hands on some vehicles is IMO just cheap and somewhere around the level of hacking. -

You ask for constructive criticism, then respond with nothing but rage to people who eloquently explain why things are the way they are, and the fact that you apparently can't draw the parallels between certain concepts of MMO design and this game only further displays your ignorance. Based on your reactions to anyone who hasn't flat out agreed with you, this post is nothing more than you grand-standing and begging people to stroke your ego by telling you how awesome your idea is. First, the AS50 is better in nearly every single situation than the DMR. It is a 1 shot kill at any range, unlike the DMR which requires 3 and sometimes even 4 shots to kill. This allows the victim of your DMR to alt-f4 if you're firing beyond about 300 meters. Within that distance, granted, you might be able to land 3 hits before they can react, but at a longer distance you often have to wait a second for recoil and passive sway to calm down before firing accurately again. This also brings up the fact that although the DMR has a larger magazine, unless you're getting 100% headshots the AS50 has more potential kills per mag. Even landing 100% of your shots the DMR can kill 6 people per clip; the AS50 can kill 10 (loaded with M107 of course; the AS50 mags are for vehicles, not people). This brings up another point in that the DMR is fairly weak against most vehicles, while the AS50 when loaded with NATO rounds can one shot just about any vehicle in the game. Yep, helicopters too. The AS50 also has an extended zoom range, and can be manually zeroed. The DMR has no manual zero, and therefore is only effective if the shooter is extremely skilled at judging range or is within about 300 meters where the sight is naturally zeroed. The one and only situation the DMR has an advantage in is during night time combat with NVGs. The DMR is the only sniper rifle you can use NVGs and the scope with. Even this meager advantage assumes that you have an item (NVG) that is incredibly more rare than the DMR itself, and that you're not playing on a server with crosshairs. A skilled player can use the crosshairs with the AS50 to take out a target at 300-500m, allowing it to be used at night with NVGs anyway. Second, this game does share many design concepts with standard MMO gameplay. Granted, there are no quests and you don't "level up" (debatable, as acquiring toolbelt items and a better backpack could be seen as incremental improvements to your character), but the most important aspects of this game are decidedly MMO in nature: loot and open world pvp. What is the ultimate goal of DayZ? For most people, it's simply to acquire better loot. What is the ultimate goal of an MMO? The same. Aspects such as rarity versus quality (the EXACT THING YOU'RE DEBATING HERE), placing loot in harder to get to (read; "higher level") zones, these are absolutely MMO concepts being applied in DayZ. And for those of you who answered "nuh uh, my only goal is to fuck with people!" congratulations, that's open world pvp in a nutshell, and yeah MMOs invented that shit. See, that's how you debate child. You take the idea someone else had, analyze it, and then create a coherent response based on logical points that either agrees with or disagrees with their idea. Simply calling everyone who disagrees with you stupid and yelling "NO I'M RIGHT SERIOUSLY GUYS" isn't a debate, that's a temper tantrum. -

It took my server 3 days to get vehicles, we had them for like 3-4 restarts and now they're mysteriously gone again. My instance id is well above 6k.. even above 8k, i was told it can take up to 7 days for vehicles to spawn on a server from a ticket i made at the support site, when i made another ticket about them mysteriously dissappearing he told me to make a ticket on dev-heaven: https://dev-heaven.net/issues/40381 -

The problem is a TON of new servers have NO VEHICLES AT ALL and all we have are rumors on why this is so. I am just asking for some sort of response from the team so i know exactly whats going on time wise and can plan things for my clan. If its going to be months before vehicles are live on other servers then im not going to bother paying for a server for those months. Why am i getting flamed for wanting information so i can make purchasing decision? I dont care if it takes 4 months to fix...just tell me so i am not wasting my money on a broken server. -

The sugestion is this: game need a fix urgent. The hackers are destroying the mod. The code is broken, I do not know how fix this because i m not a programmer, but i know it need to be fixed . I can help design things, because i m drawer and have too much imagination. perhaps by removing the summon items and vehicles code from the mod, and the teleport. -
Hi, vehicles dont spawn on our server. I was on allmost all spawn points of all vehicles and nothing but when i go to another server there is allways some vehicle. We tried to restart server, hard restart server and nothing. Still never vehicle. So really where is the problem ? I dont have any idea. Thanks for your help. //Sorry for my english
