OK so lets start off with can anyone clear up the spawn rules for the helicopter? or should there always be 1 somewhere on the server somewhere waiting to be discovered? Reason im asking is this 2 weeks ago on EU 32 we found one in the woods presumably crashed as there was no way to land it safely in trees this thick...but it was fully repaired! however i later found out it repaired itself like most vehicles in the game when you let it stand still for a while... I manged to get it out the woods with my team bashing it with quads into a clearing and went for a fly, all fine all great put it on auto hover over a town and it flipped 360 and we had to bail out over elektro as it crashed into a huge fire ball, must have been pretty funny to watch! and that's that its never been back its not re-spawned at all ive checked periodically and nope its nowhere i even got a global ban for checking using a script (my bad learnt that lesson the hard way) and also i dont really regret it how can you check bugs on things like this when they are so rare and the island so big you cant be sure? but i am now as i cheated and got banned for it! So that's it is there a problem with the spawning? or do they literally just no appear for weeks on end?

Confirmed on DE1608. Although i can only confirm it for the tents as vehicles dont spawn at all on our 6 days old server. >:( -
So we finally got a choppa! We fuelled it up, parked it in our base and said we are going to bed (2 am). My brother told me we should go raid some camps really quick and then show off our toy in cherno XD -> really bad ideo mkay.... we raided a big camp which was easy to see from the sky due to vehicles picked up gps, ghillies, m14, m16 with grenadelauncher :D..... then on our way to cherno we made a quick stop over electro where we could see some guys running around with flashlights. They hid in the church and we were hovering next to the church screamin get to the choopaaa but no one moved or came outside. We decided to go to cherno because we expected more players to be there. The moment our choppa turned away someone came out of the church unloading his AK but he didnt hit anything. I swapped seats and began unloading the m240 on that sucker and told the pilot to circle around and watch the player list if they disconnect. As he tried to be a hero and fly between the houses he crashed the chopper straight into the firestation. All I saw was a big fireball and the deathmessage. The guys in chruch must have been WTF watching us noobs crash. :D I had fraps running but didnt record. To any one interested in joining the above, here's the true sitrep. You'll be joining a group of players (no bigger than 10 players), 2 of which were kicked from a clan for being utter dicks and one lost his admin. This has caused them to start killing a clan in the clan's home server. The clan was once unorganised but has since pulled it together and are in squads, the clan numbers 30+, all fully kitted out. This is a war in which, if you join the above person's side, will not care for you if you die and simply want to act revenge because they are butthurt. Simple as. Oh and, we found our vehicles. Nice to see you using conveniently hacked in vehicles too.

@Gogster well it would apear you have hosted more servers than i in your time and have more experiance in dooing this sort of thing , i on the other hand dont me and 3 friends played DAYz and liked it we desided to chip in and rent a server from the lads at HFB servers now we only run our server when atleast one of us is on to moniter it but i can only use the inbuilt tools to deal with problem players , i dont deal with scripting , or log files or any of that i wouldnt know where to start i havnt doen scripting and game code since college, now if you expect every player to be as up on scripting methodoligy as you are to run a server then your going to be disapointed , im not saying your wrong to want people to run a tighter ship in server tearms but it is on the dev's side to make the admin tools as simple to use and accsess as posible , we shouldt have to troll through logs hunting for malisious scripts then having report it here in the hopes something is done , we should just be able to see a player in game , dooing something wrong ie (spawning vehicles) then be able to push a button to report him automaticly , then ban him from your server and allow the powers that be deside on a global ban the tool set was avalable in earlyer builds we had more simplistic ways of dealing with problems but now it seams we have to learn about scripting just to secure our servers and to be fair it doesnt even help the damage is still done , were still left being the janitor and cleaning up after hackers , i spent 2 hours yesterday infact destroying hacked vehicles in game so all the gear within them would dissapear -

Hi. im the admin of lu385. im sorry about your problems. our server is currently very buggy since the patch. Vehicles does not save or get turned into others, buses becomes bikes and things like that. I am trying to figure out what is going on atm thats why the server restarts so often. -

I can confirm this is happening on my server as well running latest DayZ/Arma patches. Server is FR151 and is hosted by Vilayer. I've managed to save tents/vehicles previously and update contents after the first save too. However it now appears all tents and vehicles will rollback to a previously saved state everytime the server restarts. This happens every restart currently. Addtionally, the server will occasionally rollback vehicle locations to the last restart position as well, it too will also reset the condition of them back to an earlier state. This issue does not always occur and seems fairly random. Would be nice to get a fix to this as tents are eating every time we try to save at the moment (and I assume the same for the rest of the players on my server too). -

I never saw the point of tents or vehicles you spent hours fixing. Even if they weren't bugged to buggery, they will just get found. -
Derpy, there seems to be some problem with 1.7.2.5 not saving vehicles and tents properly.

1) Vehicles will not be in the same place on a different server. 2) Vehicles will move back to their spawn points when the server restarts (usually 6 hours). 3) Unless you take it all the way to the arse end of nowhere, someone WILL find it and take it. -

these are some wise hints. i think the sandbox game concept with no rules (at least superficially) and no goals is new and interesting but it gets more and more boring after 3 months of playing this after you did everything and saw everything. especially when you have to deal more with server problems, hackers and cheaters than with testing and finding bugs. e.g. your tents or vehicles are on servers which dont save them, or which are up and running well one day but then are down the next day and stay down forever. or when 90% of the players you encounter alt+f4 after the first shot was fired or when you get constantly teleported to elektro or into the thunderdome, start to dance mysteriously or your camps never stay longer than 24 hours because there must be ALOT of people who use these ESP hacks. ill wait untill battleye gets more powerful, i think thats currently the biggest problem. graphics glitches, teleports to the coast and the like is all avoidable but you cannot avoid cheaters, alt+f4ers or ghosters. -

I confirm, after the patch 1.7.2.5 are not saved items in tents, and vehicles. The new tents remain. Arma 2: 95883. Dayz: 1.7.2.5 Hive: 0.7.3 -
/Already dominated all of you +...find your vehicles, oh wait...blown up and saved <3 Oh also, the gunning down clan members was because you all insist on duping and hacking, so please, tell me more.

It's only mine server, or vehicles won't save in this update, and after every update they back on their last saved zone in 1.7.2.4 ? @up Trust me, after few restarts of the game your artifacts will come back, and they become more huge as they were before.

Seems in the restart process some of the vehicles that were destroyed today were repopulated by the Hive to their locations. We have requested an instance ID wipe for US 401. I don't want those vehicles...they were destroyed. I don't want all the crap on our server (not all of it is ours). We're wiping the whole thing clean and starting over, Sorry to any of our regulars with camps. If you have anything you want to save I suggest you get it out of your tents now, I assume it will take around 24 to 72 hours for our instance ID wipe request to be granted.

Hello there one and all, though, mainly friendlys ;P Myself, (TAXI) Jonesy and a friend, (TAXI) Lordskitzleton, have recently been searching for vehicles. Namely the bus' and vans of our fine zombie infested country. We have taken it upon ourselves to start the public transport system again. Our first few runs of this went well, helping others get to places, linking them up with allies and the likes. I would like to announce that on the AU, NZ, and the ANZ servers we will try to do this as much as possible and help out players that need it. We will almost never ask for supplies off our passengers as this will only happen in dire needs.Such times would be few and far between. Keep an eye out, if you see a bus, car or van driving along. Call out "Friendly TAXI" and we'll be sure to stop so long as the area isn't too risky. So in keeping with our motto, Stay Friendly!

I'd like to add that ammo is still being reset in my pistols, upon relogging. And the M1911/Revolver exploit is still there. One more thing, with a Bandit mask on, the head scarf thing, my pack no longer appears on my back (confirmed by other players watching me too, although I have the pack in my Gear menu and can use it. No artifacts for me but LOTS of time and gear lost with tents and vehicles resetting as and when they please. :/

Stuck in loading screen since yesterday. (Not continuously) :) Respawn on the beach somewhere. 10/10 times. If i do get in... like 2 days ago. I was hacked twice within 2 hours on two different servers. Constantly loosing gear, weapons, ammo, backpacks... etc. Vehicles are rare. Hidden out of bounds or whatever. If we do find a vehicle, the server restarts or seomthing and the vehicle is no longer there!?!?! Barbed wire, tank traps, and bear traps All over. Not so much bear traps. But barbed wire EVERYWHERE is just completely annoying and nothing else. And if you do manage to play the game as intended, you get sniped or just murdered by a random. That dont need any of your shit. And thats fine. After all, it is a Zombie Appocalypse. Deal with it. Im not trolling or hating here, just asking based on observation and stories. I am fairly good at avoiding other players and move around stealthy. But sooner or later you will get killed. You cant be a 100% sure of your surroundings at ALL times. Some prob think they do, fine. Let them. But this is not an option for me to experience anymore... Gg folks, might see you in the Standalone. Peace and have fun.

Admin abuse US1320, restarting the server after vehicle is stolen

To make the story short, butthurt admins got mad that someone found their camp, restarted the server to put their vehicles back where they were last saved at while knowing that the guy would respawn far away. guy got proof of butthurt admins abusing their admin powers. butthurt admins trying to justify by saying that they though he was hacking. the end. These admins need to man up and just accept that someone found their camp and stole their shit. You guys are going to be lucky if your server isn't blacklisted. -

Same issue since the 1.7.2.5 Patch. Not only do vehicle save no more, it's also that the vehicles that got previously destroyed (Before the patch), are not respawning again. Also sometimes the HIVE switches position of random vehicles around. This is on a dedicated server, fully updated. And yeah if that isn't game breaking, then I don't know. The group I regularly play with has pretty much stopped to play, what's the point in gathering stuff if nothing saves? I hope the DayZ dev team is aware of this issue. -

It's cute that your entire post is pretty much an assumption... Meanwhile the majority of posts in this thread detail the numerous reasons ( Which you conveniently ignore ) that server hopping occurs legitimately. There are dozens of real decent reasons to hop servers, most of them due to other glitches and issues in the game that ACTUALLY need to be fixed, such as hackers, graphical errors, and then simply wanting to play with friends... Also I'm pretty sure your assumption that some sort of software is tracking and deciding whether people are being legitimate or not is pretty much complete trash. I've seen no official mention of it anywhere, and if a developer spent the time figuring out the coding for it, they would damn well announce it and be proud of it. But also because I have been on the same server for the past 12 hours since I heard that it was due to 'server hopping' and so far, with just logging into the same server, I've been ported to the coast twice. That's without getting stuck at loading and alt f4ing or any of that business. Also that's with logging in about eight or nine times over two six hour gaming sessions. Sometimes I need to log out due to important phone calls, cooking, taking a dump, or dealing with room mates. I do not Alt F4 out. All my versions are correct and I only join servers that host the same versions as I run. Also when I do log out to cook or use the washroom or any of that business, I don't relog right away... It's usually at least a five or ten minute break, so it shouldn't appear as random sketchy behavior or server hopping... So please don't try and sound like you know what's going on when you have less of a clue than the average tool posting here. Being negative and simply assuming that everything is working correctly doesn't really help improve anything. Sometimes mistakes are made, and they need to be dealt with. also I'd like to say that this change would be fine, if hackers weren't such an issue, if vehicles and tents saved properly, and if the dozens of other things fucked up with this game weren't fucked up. But as it stands there's way too many legitimate reasons to leave a server, and this coast teleporting thing makes this game a complete fucking headache for me. I love this game, but there's only so much pointless shit and abuse I can take from it. There are REAL issues that need fixing that ACTUALLY effect the average player. -

We have a tonne to offer to the clan every weapon you can think of, you name it L85's SVD Camo M4A1 SD's M4 Holo's M107's AS50's ghillies NVG's etc, we wouldn't mind sharing these with any major clan willing to take on 2 experienced DayZ players. We've managed fine on our own playing DayZ except in an event where a big clan has raided us making it difficuilt to fight back sometimes even with the good set ups, So we've been thinking about joining a clan. The main intention of this is because we feel even as a duo with plenty of gear and experience man power always helps in a fight so we need people to roll with in the game. We are Age 17/19 mature and know how to play DayZ very well. We don't want any group of small players who are not really officialy a full time clan we want something that we can interact with and rely on and most certanly spend alot of time helping. Basically if you have a website/teamspeak (or other voice communication method) this is a big 1 up for us. We have no vehicles to bring you but we know LU45 like the back of our hands and can bring in ALOT of gear and garauntee we'll be a great addition to your clan. If there's anyone taking on players we'd love to get in touch and talk about why we should join you --- hit me up!

The whole point of the game is to get advantages over people. If you're going into a firefight on even ground or at a disadvantage, you're doing it wrong and you're going to die a lot. Are you going to play with other people? There's advantages in numbers. Taking better guns? Gives you an advantage. Being in cover? Better positioning? Flanking? NVGs? Camps/vehicles?
